Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hi, and welcome to behind the mic the iHeart INTERNT life,
where you'll get the inside look at the unique, collaborative
and fulfilling experience of being part of the team at iHeart.
I'm Renee and I've had the pleasure of leading the
summer internship program. This season, we're deviewing our twenty twenty
four intern class. It's a whole professional world. Next up
is Alex, our digital finance intern. I'll let Alex take
(00:24):
it away.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
My name is Alex. I'm a rising senior at Babston College.
It's pretty small schools that's right outside Boston. I'm from
Long Island and so I've been commuting every day and
I've been enjoying the commute. Actually, a lot of people
when I tell them I'm computing, they're like, Ooh, that
must be tough, But I enjoy it. It's kind of
nice downtime. And here I'm working on the DIGITALFP and
(00:50):
a team. So see, projects I've just been working on
are just dealing with the royalties of each song, So
I go into a database and translate that data to Excel.
So it's all been a lot of projects like that.
When I was deciding to apply here. I think it's
a cool work for a company that's so big and
everyone knows because since iHeart, I'm around it every day.
(01:12):
Like every day when I'm in the car, I just
always put on the radio instead of connecting my phone.
I mean, the iHeart festivals are huge, So it's cool
work for a company that their product or what they
produce is something that when I'm not in the office,
me and my friends and family, we all here on
a daily basis. So I remember the first day we
were here, I was kind of nervous, not sure what
(01:34):
to expect, but we got to see Jessica Carter Altman
performing the dunkin Lounge. I thought it was a really
cool experience. Before coming here, I had no idea what
to expect from the office and there. I've really been
in too many New York City offices before, so it
was definitely cool. And every day just walking in. I
remember the first few weeks, I'd always take the long
way up to my office because I enjoyed walking through
(01:57):
the main entrance of the of the me use a call.
So he's very lively and just like everyone's super nice,
just to like get the day started and seeing everyone
like just around was really a nice environment. I did
want to give out to a shout out to Renee
and Cassie. I think they've been doing an amazing job,
just like getting all the interns together and doing with
(02:21):
the speaker events and are like fun projects that we've
been doing. I've been having like a great time with
those because it is nice with those experiences to get
together and just work with others. So it is they
also get me out of my shell a lot, like
to ask questions at the guest speakers, to participate more
in the group discussions, and it's something that I've struggled
with and I'm working on here, and I think those
(02:44):
those events have helped me a lot. I've been loving
New York City. When I was younger, I wasn't a
huge fan of New York City, but as I've gotten older,
I've seen how much it has to offer city. I
love the rush of I guess rush out or getting
off the train from Grand Central walking here. Everyone has
their own life, their own jobs. I really enjoy seeing
(03:06):
kind of that experience, and also just meeting New York
City is like so many different people want to work here,
So I've met so many different interns and coworkers from
all over that I think it's just cool. I love
meeting people from all over and to see what how
their life is at their schools and from their hometowns.
I just can't believe it's over already. I'm around week one.
(03:29):
I'm always like, oh, there's so many other like summer
Tuesdays to go to, There's so many other weeks to
go out with the other interns. It's just like these
weeks are just passing by, and I've been I've been
taking advantage of every week and every all the time
I can. But I'm in conversations with other interns. We
all just can't believe that it's already. It's basically done tomorrow,
(03:50):
so we're but we all enjoyed our time here and
we'll definitely like look back on it, and because I
know a lot of us are first internships, so it'll
definitely be it's a great first intern trip to have.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
It was so wonderful to hear about Alex's journey, and
we're so grateful for the shout out. It was truly
a pleasure to just play even a small role in
each and every one of our summer interns journeys and
we cannot wait to continue to see this internship class
continue to thrive. Do you too want to love what
