Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hi, and welcome to behind the mic the Iheard intern Life,
where you'll get the inside look at the unique, collaborative
and fulfilling experience of being part of the team at iHeart.
I'm Renee, and I've had the pleasure of leading the
summer internship program. This season. We're reviewing our twenty twenty
four intern class to the whole professional world. Next up
is Ian, our National Client Success intern. I will let

(00:23):
Ian take it away.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
My name is Ian. I currently go to the University
of Michigan. I'm going to be a sophomore in the fall.
I'm currently a communications major at Michigan. In my intern
role here is I work in National Client Success. So
I kind of grew up with the passion of music.
Music kind of shaped my life, so then I knew
I kind of wanted to go into the music world

(00:50):
and understand what really comes from music and the business
behind it. So that's kind of what I was really
focusing on before I started my insternship and before coming
to iHeart, was trying to see how much I can
learn from this experience, and specifically how much I can
learn about the music industry as a whole. I Heard
is just a very recognizable name with a lot of
talent and a lot of opportunity that it brings. And
every single time you talk to someone, they're always like,

(01:13):
I mentioned that I work for iHeart and they're like,
oh wow, Like wow, you work for a great company.
And I also just really love the environment. I really
love the way that we're able to communicate with different
viewers and reach different people and have all these resources
at our fingertips to be able to utilize and create
some great content. I worked in a department called National
Client Success, and basically what my team does is kind

(01:36):
of a subversion of sales, but after the fact that
sales made, my team gets handed down multiple accounts, specifically
like local New York accounts, and what my team does
is work with that whoever they're asked to work with,
whatever the account is, what can we do to improve
their experience with iHeart, What are their measurements look like,
what are their impressions, how are they viewed on the radio.
I've really enjoyed it, and it's allowed me to not

(01:58):
just stay really niche within my department, but allowed me
to work with other people and allowed me to meet
a ton of diferent people with a ton of different background.
My experience was really great. I actually moved here from
Michigan to New York, and that was something that was
really nervous about, really nervous about the climate and house
going to get used to working at a big office,

(02:20):
and I got to say it was definitely one of
the best decisions I've ever made. I love working here.
I love the people, love the place, and I really
just enjoy the atmosphere that I Heart brings. And every
single time I walk in the office, it's really like
not really like a dreadful feeling. It's more exciting what
can I do and what's opportunity it's gonna be brought
to me today. First first thing I noticed was walking

(02:43):
on the eleventh floor and all these lights and everything.
And then I walk up to the twelfth floor and
you walk through this hallway and then every single time
you walk there's like a red light and every single
time you take a step and plays a different radio station.
And I thought that was like the most surreal experience ever.
And I also really like the different artist features around
the office and from our festivals, which is really really cool.

(03:05):
I wasn't really sure what the transition was going to
be like coming from a small town in Michigan into
a big city like New York, New York something else.
Let me tell you, it's crazy crazy. It was hard
at first, but I got really acclimated very very quickly.
And I really love the fast commute. I love people
are always on the go, people always kind of have
a vision in mind what they really see themselves doing

(03:27):
in the future, which is something I really relate to.
So coming here was a no brainer and something that
I really really enjoyed. So on my last day here
at I Heeart, it's really hard to describe how I feel.
It's crazy that we started two months ago. It's really
hard for me to believe. It feels like it went
by so quickly. I think one word I would describe

(03:48):
my experience is I think it's just really full learning.
It's learning how to meet people, learning how to connect
with others, learning what the business is like, learning every
single department, bringing in the speakers, learning what they do.
It's all out learning, and those learning moments kind of
grow you as a person. And when you come across
a problem and finding the solution is something that's really
really fun to do too, So It's a lot of learning,

(04:10):
great experience, a ton of fun, great work environment, and
overall really really really fun time to be working at iHeart.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
