Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hi, and welcome to behind the mic the iHeart INTERNT life,
where you'll get the inside look at the unique, collaborative
and fulfilling experience of being part of the team at iHeart.
I'm Renee, and I've had the pleasure of leading the
summer internship program. This season, we're debuting our twenty twenty
four intern class to the whole professional world. Next up
is Lina, our product management intern. I'll let Lina take

(00:23):
it away.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
So my name is Lina. I attend Duke University. I
am currently studying computer science, minoring in economics, and pursuing
an Innovation and Entrepreneurship certificate. I'm currently on the product team,
which is really exciting, and I am a product management intern.
I've always felt really drawn to like tech since I

(00:48):
am a computer science major, I've also really loved design.
I went to a high school that was a little
bit like you were allowed to explore your interests. It
was like technical and magnet. So I kind of had
a major, which was funny, but I was interested in
like design and tech, and so I've always kind of
knew I wanted to be in a creative space like that.
My interview process was really great. I was able to

(01:09):
talk to two people on the product team, and what
was really interesting was that one of my interviewers went
to the same high school as me, and that was
really cool because we both went to kind of at
tech high school and so I saw a lot of
my passions aligned with his, and since he was doing
a role that I was interested in, it just felt
really perfect, honestly. So yeah, that was really cool and

(01:31):
interesting and really made me gravitward, gravitate towards iHeart. I'm
from New Jersey, so every morning, you know, to my
commute at work, my dad would play the radio and
we would always listen to a lot of stations. One
thing that was really cool was my sister actually tapped
into the radio station and entered tickets to when I Heart,
you know, tickets to Harry Styles, and she actually won.

(01:53):
So that was really cool and I was able to
go with her and see Harry Styles, and so that
really drew me to iHeart. I was like, wow, this
is so impactful. So just as a whole, it's been
really nice to work with a company that can do that.
My application process was very authentic. I went in with
the idea that you know, I love iHeart. I'm going
to try to express that because that's genuinely how I feel,

(02:15):
and so, you know, going through the interview process, I
would just say like being natural and wanting to be
in that position will get you so far. You know,
Faking it and all of that and trying to fluff
up yourself won't really help. If you love something like,
it'll show. I think being from New Jersey has been
really fun, being able to commute and walking into the

(02:37):
city and being in New York it's a whole different
vibe and plus, of course the beautiful like office just
makes it ten times better to walk into. So this
internship experience has absolutely exceeded my expectations. Honestly, I've learned
so much through my team. They've been super supportive and
they put me right onto projects that I was interested in.

(03:00):
One project that is tangible and out right now is
on the iHeart app. You know, we're exclusive partners with
the Olympics and our audio partners, and one of the
projects that I was put on was creating the websites
the microsites as they like to call them. So if
you listen to the audio right now and you see, like,
you know, the sports that's playing. If you want to
learn more about the information, it'll take you to all

(03:22):
thirty four of those microsites, which is really cool. This
is my first ever internship experience, so I would say
I'm sad but very grateful for everything I've learned. I
feel very you know, accomplished, which I'm proud to say,
and I feel like there's a lot that I can
take out of this experience moving forward.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Lina was one of the many interns who felt their work, feedback,
and input could actually influence the initiatives across all parts
of Team iHeart, whether it's the iHeart App, or events
or anywhere in between. You want to love what you do,
