Speaker 1 (01:22):
The news of President Biden's prostate cancer diagnosis continues to
send shockwaves across the nation. The announcement has reignited a
deeper conversation about the disease that disproportionately affects black man.
For years, experts like doctor Otis Brawley, a black oncology
professor at Johns Hopkins University, have sounded the alarm about
black man's health.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Overall, this should not just be a prostate cancer talk.
You know, in the United States this year, eight thousand
black men are god died from prostate cancer and fifty
thousand are god died from cardiobastion disease and diabetes. So
men starting in their forties are to all have a
relationship with the physician to be seen the position once
(02:01):
a year, with the goal of how can I stay health?
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Doctor Brawley has been vocal about the urgent need of
black man to take better care of their health. With
Biden's diagnosis being at the forefront of national news, black
health advocates say now is the chance to spread the
word about the importance of checkups and building stronger relationships
with doctors, and to demand better health care access and
predominantly black communities. A New York court rooman Jaron for
(02:25):
the day, but the gripping testimony in Shan Didtycombe's trial
continues to make waves. Today, the jury heard from Kerry Morgan,
a former friend of Cassie Ventura, Come's former ex girlfriend.
She recalled being with Ventura right after that alleged twenty
sixteen attack at a Los Angeles hotel. CNN spoke with
attorney Misty Marris, who's covering the trial.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
She said that after that altercation at the Intercontinental, that
Diddy actually came to cass E Ventura's home and was
hitting her door with a hammer. So this all speaks
to the idea of control and coercion, and her testimony
thus far has been really really compared, and she's coming
off as a pretty great witness for the prosecution. Corroborating
Cassie Venturo's.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Story, Don Rochard, a former member of Diddy's group, Dan
that de Kaine also made some damaging remarks on the
witness stand. Today, Former Black prosecutor Elisa Adamson shared that
the prosecution team needs to show that Cassium and Terra's
relationship with Combs was more than just consensual.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
They need to elicit from Don Rochard more details about
this abusive conduct because recall on Cross, the defense kind
of left the impression with the jury that maybe Sean
Combs only became violent when he was coming down off
of drugs, maybe he was bipolar. But no, Already Don
Rochard has kind of dispelled that by saying he got
mad about not answering fast enough and then beat her
(03:41):
with a skillet and dragged her upstairs by her hair
and then threatened them both, and that is key.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Richard is expected to continue her testimony tomorrow, and finally,
back in the late nineteen eighties and early nineteen nineties,
at Different World was the show providing a glimpse into
college life at an ACEBCU with young black students attending
