California lawmakers are introducing a bill that would prohibit all
levels of law enforcement officers from covering their faces. Democratic
Senator Scott Wiener says the bill stems from federal law
enforcement operations in Los Angeles and other parts of the
state in which agents' faces are obscured.

It's all new and unprecedented. We have not had an
aspiring fascist dictator in this country with a who's trying
to create a police state with secret police. That's what's
happening right now. A year ago, people would have called

Wiener says some law enforcement officers are grabbing people off
the streets and throwing them into vans. There are exceptions
to the measure, known as the No Secrets Act. Wiener
says riot gear would be okay because the mask is
a transparent face shield. He adds officers and fire zones
