Black Mayor Eric Adams says families will be moved to
other shelters. The thirteen hundred room hotel was the first
and largest converted to a shelter during the twenty twenty

Valley, California residents are urging prosecutors to treat the assault
of a black teenager as a hate crime. The alleged
assault happened earlier this month in a movie theater parking lot.
Investigators say it involved two groups fifteen who have fought
in the past. Michael Robinson, one of the alleged victim's,
claims he was called racial slurs.

And there this yelling. I mean this racial slur is
it was fair for my life, honestly, because I was
only getting hit in the back into the head and
look you, I didn't know if I was going to
get out of here.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
The eighteen year old Robinson, who is Black, says he
was chased and beaten while hanging out with friends outside
of a movie theater. One of his friends was punched
in the face after an argument, then Robinson said the
group turned its focus on him. He claims he suffered
several injuries, including a concussion and broken teeth. For suspects,
all miners have been arrested on suspicion of battery. One
of the teens allegedly involved in the incident is related

to a member of the Semi Valley Police Department. A
California Governor Gavin Newsom is urging President Trump to end
his calls for redistricting. Newsom issued a letter to Trump
warning that GOP efforts to draw more favorable maps ahead
of the midterms were playing with fire, and it comes
as the President double downs on his push by calling
for a new census. Governor Newsomb had previously launched a

redistricting effort to counter moves in other states that could
increase GOP seats in the House. However, Newsom pledged in
his letter that California would stand down if red states.

Well, once again, President Trump is extending the deadline for
tariffs on China. To go into effect. Multiple reports say
he signed an executive order just hours before his pause
on the higher tariffs were set to expire. The executive
order pushes back the deadline ninethas until November ninth. The
extension comes after US and Chinese officials met last month.

in April. While we are hearing from the mother of
black artist Malcolm Jamal Warner, who drowned last month while
on vacation in Costa Rica. Pamela Warner posted a statement
on an Instagram account named mj W Living Legacy, which
Degrio says she created in her son's honor. And her post,
she thanked her son for choosing her to be his

mother and celebrated his talent as an actor, spoken word artist,
and musician. The surviving mother also said Malcolm left an
indelible mark on the world and on countless hearts. All
who met him, however briefly, were better for the encounter.
Warner also mentioned her son's most impactful legacy being his
inner strength. She said he wanted people to know they
could succeed, accomplish and transform. She encouraged fans and supporters

to hold close whatever part of her son's life that
touched theirs. She said, in keeping it close, you keep
his spirit alive, nourishing you with the peace, loved, joy,
and light that embodied Malcolm Jamal Warner. Along with his mother,
Warner also leaves behind a wife and an eight year
