All right, thank you. During today's press conference on Capitol Hill,
Lisa Phillips, at Epstein survivor and woman of color, stood
before lawmakers and the public to explain her story of abuse.
Phillips held back tears and spoke on how she was
sexually exploited by Epstein when she was trying to break
into a career of modeling. In an empowering moment, Phillips said,
despite the lack of federal support, the women are taking
(01:45):
matters into their own hands.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
Several of USPT survivors have been discussing creating our own
list of names. We know the names many of us
were abused by them. Right now, together, as survivors, we
will confidentially compile the names we all know we're regularly
in the Epstein world, and it will be done by
survivors and for survivors.
Speaker 5 (02:08):
No one else is involved.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
Say teen for more details on that.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
The survivors are calling for transparency and the full release
of the Epstein files. Representative Roe Comma and Thomas Massey,
who led the press conference, filed a discharge petition, but
are reportedly getting some kickback from Republicans. Meanwhile, a federal
appeals court has rejected President Trump's attempt to use the
Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelan immigrants allegedly connected to gangs.
(02:35):
The judge role that the seventeen ninety eight mass immigration
law doesn't qualify as an armed invasion. CNN spoke with
Attorney Norm Eisen, who is leading the charge against Trump's
use of the Act. He tells CNN that the case
will likely lead to a Supreme Court decision.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
This is one area, even if I have sometimes disagreed
with the Roberts Court, this is one area where they
have signaled skepticism, They've shoot stays, and they've pushed back
because what Donald Trump is trying to do with seizing
power over the military by claiming that there are invasions
(03:10):
when there are none. He just lost another case in California,
in the District of Columbia. A court just said to him, no,
you can't take over the police department. The courts have
been robust, so I think this one will be.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Successful if the Supreme Court backs up the Act. The
ruling will help prevent future abuse against black communities and
as a guardrail against authoritarian overreach. And finally, Philadelphia Eagles
running back Saquon Barkley has been voted the number one
player in the NFL's Top one hundred list for twenty
twenty five. The ranking comes directly from fellow players across
(03:44):
the league, making it one of the most respected honors
in Pro football. The African American Star Players rise from
number eighty six last year to number one this season
is a testament to his greatness and dominant performance. Last year,
he rushed for over two thousand yards, scored Bowl ring,
and emerged as a prominent team leader on and off
the field. The announcement was made days before the Eagles

opened their season at home against the Cowboys. Stay informed,
