Speaker 1 (00:01):
Bid news this hour, Doug Davis coming up. Survivors of
Epstein's if you say, they know who was involved and
are ready to speak if Congress won't. Plus New York
City's mayoral race heats up, and a black former Biden
advisor says it's time for Adams to throw on the
towel and still a head cracker. Barrel isn't cracking as before,
as sales slump after its logo change. But first, here's

(00:22):
bin news.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Now, Illinois leaders are preparing for President Trump to send
the National Guard to Chicago. Governor J. P. Pritzker says
federal agency and military vehicles began staging Monday at Naval
Station Great Lakes.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Shootings will continue as long as this presidential administration continues
to put politics over people.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
That's black Maor Brandon Johnson, who blames President Trump for
the city's gun violence, accusing him of letting thousands of
guns flow into Illinois. Rapper Cardi b has been cleared
in her assault case. A jury ruled in under an
hour that she's not liable for assaulting former security guard
Ammani Ellis and will not pay damages. Cardi told fans
she'll quote be nice end quote this time, but warned
against frivolous lawsuits. Ellis She's glad that she had her

(01:03):
day in court and plans to appeal. And African American
Senator Corey Booker is engaged. The fifty six year old
New Jersey Democrat proposed to Alexis Lewis on a Hawaiian
beach and shared the moment on Instagram. The couple met
on a blind date and have been together for sixteen months.
I'm Amber Payton with Bi in News. Now back to you, Doug, all.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Right, thank you. Earlier today in the Nation's Capital, survivors
of Jeffrey Epstein's tex trafficking ring gathered to demand action
and accountability. Lisa Phillips, a survivor of color, spoke out,
saying that the group of women are considering a new
plan of action, one that I'm sure is starling anyone
involved on Epstein's client list of abusers.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Several of us Epstein survivors have been discussing creating our
own list of names. We know the names many of
us were abused by them. Now, together, as survivors, we
will confidentially file the names we all know. We're regularly

(02:02):
in the Epstein World, and it will be done by
survivors and for survivors, well, no one else is involved.
Stay ting for more details.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
All that, the press conference followed the release of thousands
of pages of documents from the House Overside Committee, but
the survivor say the files were mostly redacted and lack
the accountability they've been asking for. Representative Massey and Kanna
are pushing a bipartisan petition to force a House vote
on releasing the files. Meanwhile, some believe New York mayor
African American Eric Adams may be preparing to exit his

(02:35):
race for re election. Recent poll number show Adam it's
being clobbered as his approval rating continues to decline. Yes
and me Abawol, a former White House Chief of Staff
under the Biden administration, tells Fox News that adam shelf
life is about to expire.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
I mean, Adams considered the table and pretend that he's
an actual player in this race. But really the matchup
and the focus for folks is between Cuomo and Momdanie.
And that's not to say that Cuomo has any strength
or whatsoever. I mean, the mid July to August fundraising
numbers for Cuomo are topping out at five hundred thousand,
and Mumdannie was able to pull over a million, so
it's going to be tough. But Adams being in the race,

(03:10):
people who would vote for Adams are not the people
that we're going to vote for Mumdannie in the first place.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Democratic socialist candidate man Donnie is gaining ground among black
voters who want a real change in leadership. In New
York Times, article reports that President Trump is concerned about
the race, as Man Donnie is leading in most polls,
with Cromo closing in in second place. And finally, Cracker
Barrel's attempt to refresh his image has caused a slump
in sales. The original logo showed a rural white man

(03:38):
leaning against a barrel, which has been linked to romanticized
depictions of the Old South, a time when black Americans
were excluded from public life and violently oppressed. The restaurant
chain removed it, hoping to appeal to younger Americans, and
the backlash came quick, even with President Trump slamming the
change as woke and calling for a Cracker Barrel to
go back to using its old logo, and it did

(04:00):
company reverse course. And brought the old design back. So,
at least for now, the figure known as Uncle Herschel,
which some say is tied to Annabellum South, remains in place.
