All right, thanks and happy Tuesday. While hunger is not
easing up and food banks are facing record demand, millions
of Americans are turning to food banks, even those who
hold jobs. Our recent twenty twenty Feeding America report shows
that fifty million people are facing food insecurity. African American
Karen Biasio, developing director at LA Saint Francis Center, told
MS now that families are waiting for food more than

ever and there's an urgent need for support.

Unfortunately, that's our new reality. It started earlier this year
and we saw maybe five families when we weren't turning
anyone away prior to that, and now in these last
few weeks where twin turning away thirty families at a time.
It's heartbreaking. You know, people depend on us. They depend
on us to provide those meals, the nutrition, the groceries
or you know Wi Fi now is something that their

children need for homework and all of that, all of
that for schoolwork. So it's very tough to have to
turn people away knowing there may be nowhere else for
them to go.

With eighty percent of food bank stretch thin, many are
operating a near breaking point due to reduce funding and
rising costs. The crisis hits harder for black families, underscoring
a long standing social and economic disparities that make putting
food on the table a daily challenge. Meanwhile, flip rural
America blue, while Kentucky Governor Andy Bursheer, who's won two
state wide elections in the southern state as a moderate Democrat,

tells CNN that he's been working over time in rural
communities telling them that a Trump economy is like an
economic death sentence.

I spent this last year trying to speak reason into chaos,
being a common sense, common ground, get things done type
of voice for the Democratic Party. But hopefully for America,
we are going to change the map when we win
some governor's elections that no one is expected be.

I'll sit down with my family and we'll see. What's
most important to me is that my kids get the
type of country that I grew up in, one that

but we need to heal this country for.
