Because somebody has become so blinded by their partisan agenda

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Thank you. Amber. Congress Woman I Jana Presley out of
Massachusetts is once again voicing concerns about the extraordinarily high
unemployment rate of black women in the US. That rate
currently sits at seven point five percent compared to the
national average of four point four percent.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
This is a five alarm fire. It is an emergency.
It is a crisis for black women, for black families
and black futures in that black way, and nearly seventy
percent of them are the primary breadwinners in their households
and again. This seven point five percent rate is up
nearly an entire percentage point from September's six point seven

(02:14):
percent rate.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Presley made those comments yesterday during a press conference. She
was very direct about who she believes is to blame
for the situation.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
This is no coincidence. Again, this is not a naturally
occurring phenomenon. This is the direct result of Donald Trump's
mass federal firing frenzy and his unrelenting attacks on diversity, equity, inclusion,
and accessibility.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
During Horry Marks, Presley also called on the Federal Reserve
to do all it can to secure employment for all Americans.
The call follows a letter Presley sent to Fed Jair
Jerome Powell a few months ago demanding the same. Join
us this coming Sunday on the Black perspective as we
revisit a conversation we had with Congresswoman Presley on this
topic a few weeks ago. That's Sunday at nine am

(02:57):
and nine pm Eastern and run for Congress against House
Minority Leader who Keing Jeffries by New York Democratic Socialist
Chios may end before it can get started. According to
The New York Post, a key Democratic socialist group has
voted not to endorse a city council member. The vote
against endorsement follows this simple response on Sunday by Mayor
elect Zoorron Mondani unmeet the press. If Democrats win the midterms,

(03:22):
do you want to see Leader Jeffries become the Speaker
of the House. Yes. The vote against endorsement by the
city's chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America was narrow,
but according to some press reports, political pundits think that
it will be hard for Osay to beat Jeffries without
the group's support. Former First Lady Michelle Obama is adding
her voice to a growing list of women encouraging other

(03:42):
women to let go of age related expectations. During a
recent discussion on the podcast The Look, Missus Obama said
women should not consider themselves too old to get married
or enjoy professional success. I neither or both have not
happened in their life by certain age, say like thirty five,
which Missus Obama says is still really really young. Instead,
she advises women to not get caught up in what's

(04:03):
not happening now, as she says the future has so
much waiting in store. Stay informed, stay connected, and subscribed.
