Speaker 1 (00:01):
News when you want it with Bloomberg News Now, I'm
Doug Chrisner. First, an update on the push for peace
in Ukraine. More details are emerging from last Friday's summit
between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. President Trump'
Special envoice, Steve Whitkoff, says the US would be able
to offer security guarantees to Ukraine. Here is Witkov speaking
(00:22):
earlier on CNN's State of the Union.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
We were there as a mediator, so we were obviously
advancing the Ukrainian view. The one thing that the President
cannot agree to on behalf of the Ukrainians is any
sort of land swap that is for the Ukrainians said,
They've asked us what stated that to us, and the
President is respectful of it. But that's why we're moving
(00:47):
so quickly to a meeting on Monday at the Oval
Office with President Zelenski.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Steve Whitkoff there, White House Special Envoy, speaking on CNN's
State of the Union now, Witkoff says the agreement stops
short of a lot allowing Ukraine to achieve its goal
of NATO membership, something Vladimir Putin has objected to. Meantime,
Secretary of State Marco Rubio says the US is holding
out hope for a ceasefire in Ukraine. Here is Rubio
(01:14):
speaking on NBC's Meet the Press.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
It was agreed to by all that the best way
to end this conflict is through a full peace deal.
There's no doubt about that. I mean, who would be
against the fact if tomorrow we came to you and
said we have a full piece deal and it's done.
I think that's the best way to end the war. Now,
whether there needs to be a ceasefire on the way there,
well we've advocated for that. Unfortunately the Russians as of
now have not agreed to that.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, speaking on NBC's Meet the Press.
He went on to say additional sanctions against Russia would
not help the situation. By the way, tomorrow in Washington,
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zolenski will be joined by European leaders
for follow up talks with the Trump administration. Eric Canada
says it's delaying the resumption of flights by a day.
(01:59):

order to end it strike by Sunday afternoon. Now, Air
Canada says about two hundred and forty flight scheduled for
Sunday afternoon we're canceled and service will now restart Monday evening.

says the mood among workers is defiant and some public
(02:21):
opinion appears to be on the side of flight attendants.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
It's very loud, it's pretty broucus. A lot of cars
are driving in and out because we're in I think
the arrivals area. Few of them are honking their horns
and sympathy taxes as well. That They've had a lineup
of speakers, including the leader of the federal New Democrat Party,
who which is the the left wing party historically aligned
with the Union. They're not moving.

district given concerns about crime and homelessness. Here is Maryland

Speaker 5 (03:09):
All of this is a total abuse of power. It's
a manufactured emergency. If you want to see an emergency
in Washington, d C. That was back on January sixth,
twenty twenty one, when President Trump did nothing to deploy
the National Guard on time.

on Gaza City. Bloomberg's Ethan Brawner says this is sparking
new humanitarian concerns.
Speaker 6 (03:47):
People are living on the edge already in Gaza and
tense without proper water, enough food, medical attention, and to
move between five hundred thousand and a million people into
so called safe areas now in these coming weeks, in
