Doug Prisner.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Today.
Speaker 1 (00:04):
President Trump addressed the issue of affordability earlier, speaking to
a crowd in Pennsylvania, the President touted his tariff policies.
Here's Trump.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
It's trillions of dollars, not billions of dollars, right, So
it's amazing. It's the smart people understand it. Other people
are starting to learn, but the smart people really understand it.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
That was President Trump speaking earlier in Pennsylvania. Now, his
remarks come as recent day to show Americans are feeling
squeezed by higher prices. The equity market ended little changed
in front of the fed's final interest rate decision of
twenty twenty five. Here's Bloomberg's Michael McKee.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
Well ibeto all Street is it a FED chair of
j POWLLL is going to try to suggest that this
was the last insurance cut that they're going to take
out for a while, that they will probably pause in
January to see where the economy is. Of course, they
don't have a great idea yet because we're still missing
a lot of data. But they're beginning to get to
(01:01):
the point where some people think they're at neutral, and
if they were to cut anymore, they'd be over stimulative,
and inflation is certainly not back to their target. So
this may be the last one. That's kind of I
think going to be the message from mister Powell.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
That is Bloomberg's Michael McKee. Meantime, President Trump will reportedly
launch the last round of interviews for fed share this week.
The FT is saying it will pit White House Economic
advisor Kevin Hassett against a trio of other candidates. Now
Hassett is considered to be the front runner. Today, President
Trump was asked to comment on that FT report.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
We're going to be looking at a couple of different people,
but I have a pretty good idea who I wanted.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
That was President Trump, speaking to reporters earlier. Aboard Air
Force one, SpaceX is moving ahead with plans for an IPO,
perhaps as soon as mid to late twenty twenty six. Now,
the company would seek to raise significantly more than thirty
billion dollars. We are told SpaceX is targeting a value
for the entire company of around one and a half
(02:03):
trillion dollars. Now, SpaceX is expecting to use some of
these funds to develop space based data centers, including purchasing
the chips required to run them. Here is Bloomberg's Eric Johnson.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Over the years, SpaceX executives have talked about an IPO,
and the idea was is that, you know, they as
they become cashflow positive, they could spin off Starlink as
its own IPO. It's more of a consumer tech play.
But the plans have change. And if you look at
the growth of SpaceX and you look at not just
(02:35):
becoming the most prolific launch rocket launch company on Earth,
but now they've got plans for their gigantic starship.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
That is Bloomberg's Eric Johnson. We are getting more details
on President Trump's move to allow Nvidia to sell its
H two hundred chips to China. We were total the
administration felt the move carried a lower security risk because
China's Huahwei Technology already offered AI systems with compo performance.
Here is bloomberg s Ed Ludlow.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
The President was presented with a range of options from
send the absolute latest technology and flood the Chinese market
to suffocate Harway's ability to develop its own tech stack
there right through to do nothing at all, allow no
technology to go even if deprecated. The H two hundred
decision is seen as a kind of best case scenario
(03:25):
because even though it is eighteen months behind Blackwell generation
at the cutting edge, it is enough where it makes
it attractive for Chinese technology companies to use.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
That is Bloomberg's Ed Ludlow. Now, the President met privately
with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang before making that decision, and
Huang pressed for relief from US export controls. In Miami,
Democrat Eileen Higgins has won the race for mayor. She
defeated a Republican endorsed by President Trump. Now this victory
is providing Democrats with some momentum heading into next year's
(03:58):
high stakes midterms. GOP is looking to keep its grip
on Florida. In Kentucky, one student was killed and another
is in critical but stable condition after a shooting at
a residence hall at Kentucky State University. Officials say the
suspect is in custody. Here is Kentucky Governor Andy Basher.
Speaker 6 (04:18):
This was not a mass shooting or a random incident
based on what I've been told, and the suspected shooter
is already in custody. That means that while this was scary.
There is no ongoing threat, and I believe our families
are safe.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Kentucky Governor Andy Basheer, And that is news when you
want it with Bloomberg News. Now I'm the prisoner and
this is Bloomberg
