Speaker 1 (00:02):
News when you want it with Bloomberg News Now. I'm
Doug Prisner. Iran is facing its most perilous moment in
decades after the US and Israel attacked Iran's nuclear facilities
last night. President Trump authorized a massive air strike, even
though he previously hinted at a delay. The mission was
dubbed Operation Midnight Hammer. It used B two stealth bombers,
(00:24):
Tomahawk missiles, and over seventy precision guided weapons in a
coordinated attack. Meantime, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said
the US is ready to negotiate after this bombing. Rubio
spoke to CBS Face the nation.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
I think they should choose the route of peace. We've
done everything we have been over backwards to create a
deal with these people. Steve Woodcoff has traveled the world extensively,
met with them, well not even met with them, met
through the Omanis with them and discussed back and forth.
We even put an offer to them that they wanted
elements of it in writing, and we offered it the
very generous offer. By the way, We've done it, and
(00:58):
we're prepared right now, call right now and say we
want to meet. Let's talk about this, We're prepared to
do that. The President's made that clear from the very beginning.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
That is US Secretary of State Marco Rubio speaking to
CBS Face the Nation. He went on to warn Iran
that closing the Strait of horror moves would be a
suicidal move for the regime. Oil prices meantime are pushing
higher after those US strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities. Brent
crude and WTI are higher by more than two percent.
(01:26):

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Look, we're up.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Ten dollars a barrel since the war started, now a
little more, and so I think there's appropriate amount of
risk in the market right now. Traders are sort of
holding their breath waiting to see if Israel Iran expand
this conflict beyond military and political targets into traded energy.
So far, no one's pulled that trigger yet, and if
(01:53):
they don't, I can see the price kind of reversing.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
That is Bob McNally, he's the president and founder of
Rapidan and Group. Meantime, the United Nations Security Council met
today at the request of Tehran. Here is Antonio Guterres,
the UN Secretary General.
Speaker 5 (02:09):
The bombing of Uranian nuclear facilities by the United States
marks a perilous urn in a region that is already
relinked from the outset of the crisis. I have repeatedly
condemned any military escalation in the Middle Easts. The people
of the region cannot endure another cycle of destruction.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
That was UN Secretary General Antonio Guterius maintime in Washington.
We're getting plenty of reaction here, as California Republican Congressman
darryl isis speaking earlier to Bloomberg's balance of power.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
The President has made it clear he's holding out an
olive branch every day, including today, but he's also made
it clear he will not tolerate the continued behavior that
has coused so many American lives all the way back
to the early nineteen eighties when the Iranian regime was young.
They have been killing America.
Speaker 1 (03:01):

from the Trump administration a cut interest rates. He'll be
back before the Senate Banking Committee on Wednesday. All this
on top of what's a busy economic calendar in the
week ahead. Among the reports, investors will get a look
(03:36):
at SMP's Global Manufacturing and Services PMI, Existing Home Sales,
Consumer Confidence, US Goods Trade revised GDP, Personal income, and
the PCEE Price Index, to name a few. Karen Moscow

Speaker 1 (03:50):
A judge in Tennessee has ordered the release of Kilmar
Abrego Garcia, the man mistakenly deported as part of President
Trump's immigration crackdown. Abrego Garcia is awaiting a federal trial
on human smuggling charges, but he's not expected to be
allowed to go free. US Magistrate Judge Barbara Holmes has
scheduled a hearing for Wednesday to discuss the conditions of
(04:14):
Abrego Garcia's release. The US government has already filed a

the first in Oklahoma City. And that is news when
you want it with Bloomberg News. Now, I'm Doug Prisoner
