Speaker 1 (00:01):
News when you want it with Bloomberg News Now, I
made Kleggy. One person is dead in the desert oasis
of Palm Springs, California, after a bomb exploded Saturday outside
of fertility clinic, damaging buildings and leaving windows shattered in
restaurant shops and apartment buildings across several blocks in the
city's downtown. Here's the call as it was heard on BROADCASTIFY.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
It looked like you're.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Going to be multiple building with fly.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Yeah, I go fire drawing vehicle in a bark, but
it will be a vent for doubt. The explosion was
in or near a vehicle parked by the clinic. According
to the mayor, Ron de Haart, the bombing appears to
be an isolated, intentional act of violence at the Palm
Springs Fire Chief Paul Alvarado, The mayor said it was
unclear how or whether the victim was connected to the blast.

(00:55):
The person's identity was not known. President Trump said he'll
have a phone call with Russian President in Vladimir Putin
Monday morning to discuss how to stop the war in Ukraine.
Trump said he will also speak with Ukrainian President Vladimir
Zelenski and various members of the NATO Alliance. He wrote
in a post on truth Social Hopefully it will be
a productive day. A ceasefire will take place in this

(01:16):
very violent war, A war that should never have happened,
will end. God bless us. All officials from Ukraine and
Russia on Friday held their first direct talks in more
than three years, mediated by Turkey. Yet, while the two
sides agreed to swamp one thousand prisoners in coming days,
expectations going into the meeting were low after Putin decided
not to attend, sending only a low level delegation. In

(01:37):
declining to commit to a ceasefire proposal, Secretary of State
Marco Rubio said that the Vatican could serve as a
venue for future peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Certainly is a place that I would think that both
sides would be comfortable coming. So we are grateful for
their long standing efforts, not simply on trying to broker peace,
but on the exchanges of prisoners. There are children that
are currently been taken from their homes that the Ukrainians
would like to see returned, and they the Holy Sea
has been very involved in that regard.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
That's Rubio speaking to reporters in Rome ahead of his
meeting with Cardinal Matteo Zupi the Vatican's pointment on Ukraine.
New Jersey Transit officials and the union representing its rail
engineers said that unscheduled talk Saturday in Newark went well
enough that they plan to continue negotiations on Sunday in
an effort to end a strike that shut down the
commuter's service for two days. New Jersey Transit President and

(02:29):
chief executive officer Chris colorI said Saturday afternoon in a statement,
Today's discussions continue to be constructive. We've mutually agreed to
adjourin formal discussions for the day, but will continue talking
and look forward to resuming discussions tomorrow. A union official
speaking on background confirmed the talks would resume on Sunday.
The US was stripped of its last top credit rating

by Moody's Ratings, reflecting deepening concern that ballooning dead and
deficits will damage America's standing as the pre eminent destination
for global capital. Joe of Voie, SMBC NICO Securities, chief
US economist and former chief economist for National Economic Council
under Trump's first administration is not happy with Moody's decision.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
You're downgrading the country that has the reserve current, so
you're downgrading the country that's growing the fastest of any
industrialized countries, and you're also downgrading the country that has
the best productivity per capita of any country. So to
do this, I'm completely nonplused by it. It doesn't make any sense.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Joel Lavornia, speaking with Bloomberg's Balance of Power, Moodies lowered
the US credit score to a one from tripling on fronting,
joining Fitch Ratings and SMP Global Ratings in grading the
world's biggest economy below the top triple A position. And
VIDIA chief executive officer Jensen Wong expressed confidence in his
company's trade partners and said there's no evidence of its
prized semiconductors being diverted to the Chinese market. Wong told
