Speaker 1 (00:00):
Coming up on this edition of Celtics Weekly, We've got
the top plays from back to back wins yet to know,
a new face in the locker room, and the Jays
team up and head west for All Star Weekend. All
that and more now welcome into Celtics Weekly, the only
(00:32):
show where you can get completely caught up with your
world champ Celtics. Megan Analena here with Drew Carter of
NBC Sports Boston. What a week we are coming off of.
Since last Wednesday, Celtics go two in one, big wins
over the Knicks over Miami. You were down in Florida.
You brought back a Tan?
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Did I actually do?
Speaker 1 (00:51):
I look to him, I've got great color in the cheeks.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Thank you? Because I saw Scoal at Cassea Center, which
is where the Heat play, and he said, dude, you've
been down here for the whole weekend. How are you
not Tan? I'm like, look in the mirror, bro, yeah
not Tank. Just don't be jealous because some of us
can get Tan.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Ryan Rich coming from the Ginger. Let's get right into
our Plays of the week. Please. Of the Week is
where we give you the top ten highlights. And it
was a fun week so let's get started against the Knicks.
In number ten, we got paint Richard bringing it up,
dishes it over to JB. JV says back to you,
because Precious is down and you got to get that
(01:27):
shot up.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
It's gonna be a bad top ten for Precious. Achewa here, Megan.
We're gonna see a little bit of him later on
in this rip. But this is a great play. I'm
gonna give Payton credit for the ankle breaker, even though
it might have just been Precious tripping on the Empire
State Building over there, and credit to JB for finding
him when he was open.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Number nine, you've got Niini setting a screen and crossover
on Cat from Tatum.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
What work could you want Tatum? You know, taking it
out on the rims at MSG. A couple big dunks
for him. I don't know how you defend the pick
and roll with him as the ball handler. Now you
go in the drop, I'll just cross you off.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Number eight. This is some nice transition play. Derek White
on the outside finds Luke Cornett for Cornett dunk. When
you get a Cornet dunk, he ends up in plays
it week.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
My man is soaring. I mean, we got All Star
Break coming up here, put my dude in the dunk
contest taken off from the dotted line.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Number seven. JB finds porzingis inside. He's going postal and
he's got the two hand dunk.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Yeah, no chance for Daniel Gaffer. And I wonder if
you know Chris tops Hays a little extra for the Mavericks.
You know, it didn't really end, I think the way
he wanted in that situation. He always seems to play well.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Got onto that grudge. Six back against the Knicks, alhor
for draws the defense inside, finds a lonely JB who
gets his own two hands.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Plan driving kick al. You know everybody knows that's part
of his game, that he's a lethal three point shooter.
And leaving number seven open in the paint probably not
the move. Luke did jump from a little bit farther
out there, so I got I got the edge for Cornett,
But JB contest here.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Five, We're back against Miami. You've got Pink Richard cought
in a double, finds KP streaking in for the one
hand sty.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
Six assists for Pritchard in the first half of this game.
I did have to wear sunglasses while we were calling
this game at Cassea Center. A lot of different colors
coming at you, but that was pretty for.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Is this insane side step over bridges from JT twenty
nine feet for the three points.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
A bit of a heat check for him, right, and
he's turned into a third quarter killer, a huge third
quarter against the Knicks. You backed it up with twenty
against the heat in the third quarter. Coming out of
the locker room, I think you want to check zero,
but it's hard to defend him because this game's so
well rounded.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Number three JV bringing up against Dallas says, let's get
physical physical. He's got a bank shot and one. Are
you old enough to know that song?
Speaker 2 (03:46):
I am, and I can also recognize it, even if
it's a little out of tune.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
It's a little pitchy, Simon Cowell, get over.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
It's a little pitchy. But this is a great play
and Brown playing off of two feet is always a
problem for the defense. Look out Forred Hampton holding the camera.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Number two is the very end of the third against Miami.
Look at Derek White here. He's shooting over a wall
of players, including some of his own teammates. Doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
This is like a dagger in the third quarter made
it a twenty three point game heading to the fourth.
I feel like, as Derek White goes a lot of
the time, the Celtics go with he's making shots, they're
basically unbeatable. Just make a shot like that.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Good luck number one back against the Knicks. Tatum with
a crossover and poor Precious. I'm sorry, we need to
apologize for these highlights.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
It starts and ends with Precious on the wrong end
of a highlight again, Tatum. I don't know what he
has against the Rims at Madison Square Garden, but he
had a couple massive dunks.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Those are your top ten place Taylor made stats is
mean we bring in our residence smart person, that's Taylor
Snow from Celtics dot Com, and you've got some numbers
to crunch for us.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Yes, I pulled a few stats from Monday night's game
against the Miami Heat, who lately have been playing more
like the Miami Cold against the Celtics.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
Zinger, it's easy there.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
Yeah, you love weather puns. Everybody knows that.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Yeah, it's a little brutal, but that's the cold, hard
truth right now. Miami, they scored just eighty five points
against the Celtics Monday night. That is the fifth consecutive
time the Celtics have held Miami under ninety points, which
is an absurd feat.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
In today's NBA.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
If you look at a sample of the last ten
opponents of Celtics have held under ninety, Miami has accounted
for those for five of those times, Dallas twice, Golden State, Houston, Toronto.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
But I mean this, Miami.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
They were Boston's biggest competition for about a decade and
that's no longer the case. The Celtics have won nine
out of their last ten against the Heat, twelve of
the last fourteen, so that rivalry is kind of I think.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
Of the thing of the past.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Well, that's that is crazy about five straight games under
ninety I mean, this isn't two thousand and four, you know,
like this is twenty twenty five.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
Nobody scores under ninety points. It feels like ever in
an NBA game.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
So for the Celtics, a team that you know had
a historic offense last year is pretty much on the
same pace this year. To do that defensively against Miami,
you love to see it. And for the Heat, I mean,
it's the end of an era. Think about what you
just said. It was Celtics seed for a long time,
nor at the top of the Eastern Conference, Jimmy Butler,
you know, forcing his way out of town. Kind of
feels like they're turning the page and they did not
(06:09):
look good Monday. Celtics had a lot to do with that.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
No, and Celtics are a top five defensive team right now.
Terms of defensive rating, something we don't talk about a
ton because there's so much focus on the offense. Missoula
ball three point shots. Do you have another stat for ust?
Speaker 4 (06:23):
Yes? Yeah, one.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
One guy who contributed to that effort was Al Horford.
He had a big sixteen point ten rebound double double,
made four threes, had two blocks.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
He's just the second player.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
In NBA history age thirty eight or older to lag
a stat line like that.
Speaker 4 (06:37):
The other is Lebron James.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
He's done it twice, although Lebron two times he did
it was in overtime. So Al is really the oldest
player to do that in regulation?
Speaker 1 (06:47):
Does that sound like an insult? Almost saying the oldest oldest?
Speaker 4 (06:51):
Don't you have a nickname for this group you guys?
Speaker 2 (06:53):
I do.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
I call them the elder elites when you that's it's
insult Well, no, no, no, no, no, it's a comp because
the guys that we keep seeing Al's name alongside are
guys like Lebron Dirk Kareem who obviously are exceptional Hall
of Famers, all t exceptional old guys. Yes, yeah, but
he's he keeps putting up these consistent numbers deep into
his thirties that guys hardly ever do.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
So that's that's a compliment.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Al Horford is missing out on some business opportunities. All right,
we talk about Lebron James and what he does for
his body. We need the AH forty two method. We
need to know how he's able to do this when
he's knocking on the door of forty. I want it.
I feel like it's going to be more accessible than
what Lebron James does. Release it out, Horford, release it.
Speaker 4 (07:38):
Avocado ice cream involves I.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Hope not, or maybe avocado tequila sounds disgusting.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
You tried avocado ice cream? No, it's the chocolate milk.
He brings a lot of chokraate milk. Okay, that's that's
the key, all right, don't reveal too many of the secrets.
This is a business opportunity.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
What else have we got?
Speaker 3 (07:53):
All right, another kind of obscure stat from the other night,
a little cherry.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
Pick, but hey, that just shows the segment.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Yeah, right, right right, And that's just it shows how
well rounded these guys are. But Peyton Pritchard before halftime
hit five points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals,
which none of those numbers really jump off the page individually,
but put them all together, and he's actually only the
second reserve on record to reach those numbers before halftime.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
The other was Brooklyn's Damori Carroll, and of course we
all knew it was tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Quiet.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
If you didn't know that, you've been living under a rocket.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
And Drew, I know you actually mentioned a similar stat
on the broadcast. Basically, he took the points away and
even with six rebound, six assists, two steals, he's one
of only four players. The other two, along with Peyton
and Damori are former Celtics Rajon Rondo and Jabari Parker, who,
funny enough, Jabari did it just two days after Damari
Carroll two eight, twenty nineteen.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
That is funny, yes, And.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
Then Peyton does it. I'm laughing.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Peyton did it on February tenth, nineteen, one.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
Of the odds. That's incredible.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
You know, we talked about Payton Fritchard's scoring and that's
probably going to be the driving factor bit behind his
six Man of the Year case. But if you look
at his rebounding numbers, specifically for got six foot one,
he's almost always the smallest player on the floor. He
says a nose for the basketball and the assist too,
Like when he gets a chance when Tatum's getting double
team and pritcherd gets a chance to make some plays.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
He's always delivering like that.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
All right, I think Taylor Snow has offended enough NBA
players for this segment. We've got a quick break on
the other side. We have some really fun footage for
you guys. Because Super Bowl weekend was just a couple
of days ago. We know NFL season is over. We've
got an inside look at the Celtics playing a little foosball.
(10:05):
Welcome back, let's go to inside access. So Super Bowl
weekend is over, the NFL season is over, but that
game Sunday got us thinking about where these Celtics players
might fit in with the Patriots or anybody else in
the NFL, and luckily we have footage to show you
from Celtics practices of the guys acting like they're on
(10:26):
the grid. Iroon. Let's start with Peyton Richard, who is
quite a Drew Brees esque presence at quarterback.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
I don't know if I've ever seen someone pump fake
with the other hand and then throw it. Jason Tatum
speed speed walking for a fly route. I like that.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
And we've got a little fake hand off here. What
do you think rpo there for Derek White?
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Yeah, little play fake Jalen. It's a good receiver and
we got a one hand tad from that one.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Jalen is a good receiver. And all these guys throw
a pretty tight spiral and whoa, Yeah, that is not
that's not altered there, that's not edited. That is real.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
Man.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
He can catch, you can throw. Jalen might actually be
the best player on the team. Sam Hauser, I'm not
gonna recognize that because he's a big Green Bay Packers fan.
We don't like that. We don't recognize that in this household.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
I think that out of everybody here, the most locked
in positions. I see Jalen with his physicality as a
great corner or safety.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
How about receiver? He made to be a receiver, but.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
I feel like it's a waste of the muscle again.
JT with the speedwalking is a little weird. Luke Cornett,
who we're not seeing a ton of in here. I
see him as a punter. What do you think he
gives me big punter energy.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
Isn't that insulting? I mean say that Luke is going
to be the punster.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
No, punters are important. Special teams matters. If anything about
Vinitary not getting into the Hall of Fame this past
year should tell you anything, special teams matters.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Well, every snap is going to be good because you
can't miss that guy with a snap. So I can
buy that. I'm gonna go maybe a little bit unexpected here.
I'm gonna take Baylor Shireman at quarterback because if you
go back to his high school days when he was
in Aurora, Nebraska, population not a lot. Baylor Shireman threw
for fifty nine touchdowns and almost four thousand yards as a
senior in high school. Lefty I like it. And if
(12:13):
you've watched him in the G League playing for Maine,
he has thrown a couple beautiful baseball slash football type
passes on an inbound after a basket Baylor Shireman's my quarterback, dude.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
This is like a casual segment and you're scouting is
way too deep for me. I'm now uncomfortable.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
Sorry, sorry, hang on, you know what, No, Megan, you're right. Luke,
you're the punter. You're the punter.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Yeah, you're fuck can agree on that. Let's get into
the newest face in the Celtics locker room though, because
I'm not sure Work he would play on an l
work position he would be. But he was a nice
addition that we got news of in the middle of
that Dallas game. Tory Craig, who has recently played with
the Chicago Bulls. He's a thirty four year old vett
add some depth that wing. What do you see him
(12:56):
contributing to this Celtics team.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Well, you know, first of all, also he might be
able to play football. He's pretty built, Tory Craig. He's
got good size. Positionally, you know, the Celtics have plenty
of size across the board, and I think this just
adds to it, add some wing depth. That's what Brad
Steven said at the trade deadline, which he did call
boring because the Celtics froster is already so stabbed.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
I like that. I like a boring.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Trade deadline is totally okay by me. And then you
get this guy in the buyout market. I think he
could help, you know. I do tend to believe that
it'll be a lot like the guys the Celtics added
last year around this time, where it's, you know, a
need to play basis. But here's the thing about Tory Craig.
He's already contributed to the Celtics, even though we haven't
seen him suit up yet, and that's with his bench celebrations,
(13:38):
which have been elite. And it's cool to see a
guy come in, you know, to a group that's already
very tight, obviously has accomplished a lot together already and
be able to blend in and you take on a
role as one of the top cheerleaders from the bench.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Absolutely, I'm excited to see what he does with this
defensive capabilities that he's going to add. As you said,
pretty good shooter in the nine games that he played
with the Bowls this season, so a nice step piece.
Hopefully we'll get to see a little bit of him soon.
But let's keep the show moving. We've got our toughest
segment coming up. This is take your pick, Take your pick.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
I've been prepping all week.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
Meg, you faced two decisions. You did your Baylor research,
I did on him being QB. But did you do
your research on six Man of the Year versus Defensive
Player of the Year. Because we've got this great showdown
coming up between the Spurs and the Celtics, and you've
got Peyton Pritchard leading the way in the contest for
(14:35):
six Man of the Year, and you've got Wemby looking
like the favorite for Defensive Player of the Year. Which
one's more of a runway pick to you?
Speaker 2 (14:42):
Well, if games of Chance are your cup of tea,
which I know they're not for you, Megan, but if
you do, if you do like that, if you're looking
at you know the favorites for these awards. Webban Yamas
is a true runaway for Defensive Player of the Year.
I think he could have won it last year. Rudy
Gobert got it. Wemby could have won it as a rookie.
I'm always partial to Dyson Daniels, who I've I love
when a perimeter guy can win Defensive Player of the Year.
(15:02):
Shoutout Marcus Smart when he was with the Celtics. But
I think there's no question Wemby's going to win the awards.
I also think there should be no question that Peyton
Pritchard wins six Man of the Year. Leads the league
in bench points three pointers off the bench, She's up
there in rebounding, which you know, even though he doesn't
look like the biggest guy on the floor we talked about,
he's a great rebounder, as a nose for the ball
and plus minus, he's number one by far off the bench.
(15:25):
She got guys like DeAndre Hunter and Malik Beezey who
are really good players. Hunter's missed some time change teams,
Beasley started a lot for Detroit. So I think it's
a no brander. Peyton pritrich should win six Man of
the Year and Most Improved. I think you should win both.
Nobody's going to vote for him twice. I think you
should win both.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
You're greedy for Peyton, I'd say I agree with you.
Wenby is a runaway favorite for Defensive Player of the Year,
averaging four blocks a game. These are HAIKEM. Mutumbo type
numbers that he's putting up six Man of the Year
is just it's difficult because it feels like one of
those awards that can fluctuate a lot as the season
(16:01):
goes on. So I do think it's just less predictable.
But both guys should win both awards. We got a
fun line from Jason Tatum after the Celtics took down
the Knicks at MSG. He said that he was putting
on a show for Denzel Washington, who was in court site.
So I ask you for our second topic and take
your pick which celebrity would make you most nervous or
(16:24):
feel like you got to put on a show. I'm
gonna go ahead and say mine, because our guy put
on a show this year when he was talking ball
on a football pregame show, Timmothy Shallow may like, I
think Timmy knows ball, and if I had to play
any sport in front of him, I'd be a little
nervous because I'm like, that's a discerning fan right there.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
He's I mean, he's a big sports fan. We've seen
the pictures of him when he was a youngster, you know,
chasing Amari Stodemeyer for autographs. Would rather he's a Celtics
fan obviously than a Knicks fan, but you got to
respect his ball knowledge. We're seeing a lot of celebrities here.
I'm going I'm going Ben Affleck because I want to
be in a dunk King's commercial. Okay, I want scal
and myself in a Dunking commercial. I'll be like Jeremy Strong,
(17:04):
another Boston guy. I'll go into a barrel of wet
coffee beans just to immerse myself in the role Dunkin Donuts.
You don't even have to pay me. I will be
in your commercial, perfure.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
You're always looking for commercials, looking out one commercial. You're
always looking for business opportunities. I'm just trying to impress
somebody who I think is an artist who did a
magnificent portrayal of Bob Dylan just a couple months.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
You saw that movie.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Yeah, it was fantastic.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
That is your type of music, Like, what does that mean?
Seventies eighties?
Speaker 1 (17:32):
Okay, I like all types of music.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
I have eclectic music.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
Case, we're gonna take that. We're gonna talk about that
after the show. Okay, all right, Jrey, we got one more.
We are coming up on All Star Weekend, which is
a time when a lot of people get to step
away for your vacation this time of year, would you
rather ski or surf? Would you rather hit the slopes
or hit the beach? I know you were just in Florida, yea,
so maybe this leans your bias a little bit.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
Oh looking at that the post vacation that doesn't look
like Florida, it's setting in. I will yeah, no snow,
thank you. I'm good on snow. I've seen enough for
a lifetime. Snow.
Speaker 4 (18:10):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
No offense to Taylor Snow or a good friend in
their but yeah, give me more of that. Give me
the sunshine, give me bare feet, give me the salt water.
I love the Florida Keys, love it so I would
go to Key West for all star bres.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Gimme Buffett talking about me. I love into seventies eight.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
I love Margaritaville. Baby, what about you?
Speaker 1 (18:30):
I'm with you, Okay. If you asked me this in
December or the first half of January, I'm like, let's
go to Vermont, Let's go out to Colorado, Let's hit
that Utah powder. This time of year, I'm like, I
got enough snow, had enough of this. Take me to
the beach. Ye give me some sugn we were.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Just down there. I might go back. Yeah, I'm gonna
take public transit all the way to Key West before
we lose you to Margaritaville.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
Before All Star Weekend, which everybody is anxiously anticipating. The
Celtics do have one more game at TD Garden. The
San Antonio Spurs are coming to town. He's a focus
where we look at what's coming up on the horizon.
This should be a fun matchup. This should be very entertaining.
Brand new one two punch from the Spurs, as they
added Deer and Fox at the trade deadline, pairing in
(19:14):
with Wenby. This is a long term bet that san
Antonio is making. We get to get our first kid it.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Yeah, Webbin Yama's always worth the price of admission. Dearon Fox,
the fact that he chose san Antonio, I mean, I
think that's pretty significant. We talked about that on our
trade deadline show.
Speaker 4 (19:29):
Meg.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
You know, guys are going to want to play with
the Alien. He's incredible and I actually think he's, you know,
ahead of schedule for what we expected for the beginning
of his NBA career. He could have started in the
All Star Game. They'll be playing in it this weekend.
Runaway favorite for Defensive Player of the Year. He's incredible
and dearon Fox. He's the type of guy who, like
he's stopped in the NBA in scoring before he went
(19:50):
to San Antonio. This is this is a bona fide
All Star they added to Wemby. Are they going to
make the playoffs this year? Probably not, even though they
did keep all their core together, the young guys and
the veterans who are also fun to watch. But it's
just as an entertaining team, so make sure you're tuned
in or even in the house, that'd be even better.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
Okay the Alien is that a Drew Carter nickname? Or
is that on Basketball Reference dot com?
Speaker 2 (20:12):
It's on Basketball Reference in addition to a bunch of
other nicknames.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
I think for Wenby, the more nicknames, the I think
higher your ceiling is for how far you're going to go.
So that's a good sign for Wemby. Let's get into
another guy who's going to provide plenty of highlights overall
story weekend.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
That's JD.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Davidson. Maybe that's someone who's on everybody's radar going into
this weekend. But what he's doing in the G League
is really awesome and this could just be a fantastic
stage for him in the day.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Yeah, he's the all time leader in points, assists, and
steals for the main Celtics. He puts up major numbers
down there. I actually cover JD in college when I
was doing local news in Alabama. I got a chance
to interview him when he was in high school. Always
been impressed by the guy and always been a super
high recruit, five star guy. You've seen that talent translate.
And I actually think that the rising start and we're
(21:01):
going to get to the format for the All Star
Game in a second. The rising stars are going to
play so hard to try to prove that they belong
in the NBA. If they can beat the All Stars
a couple of times and win the whole thing, they
will be hungry for that. And so the NBA has
changed the format to try to raise the competition level.
Those guys are going to compete. JD. Davison is in
the All Star weekend. I think there's a chance he
(21:23):
comes home with a trophy.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
Big opportunity for him. But of course, all eyes from
here in Boston are on the JS. They're on the
same team, which is super fun. You see Jaylen Brown
here from an All Star Weekend past. What do you
expect from the two of them on the same team together?
Speaker 2 (21:39):
Just makes me happy that Shack drafted both of them,
because why split up the J's. It was never the
right answer, folks, and it's not the right answer on
All Star Weekend. Keep Jalen and Jason together. It's what
you love to see. I like Team Shack in the
whole thing for that reason, unless it's Jad Davison playing
for the Rising Stars. I got a Celtic. Whether it's
(22:00):
JD Davison or Team Shack, Jalen and Jason winning the
entire round robin format.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
So, as Drew noted, there is a different format for
the NBA.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
I gotta tell you, are you guys seeing this?
Speaker 4 (22:12):
What when did you change?
Speaker 1 (22:15):
Everybody knows that when you put on glasses, you put
your hair up, and you wear tweed, your IQ goes
up by twenty points. Please don't interrupt, Drew. This is
important because this is a little complicated. The NBA has
put in a new All Star game format and it's
really more of a tournament. So what you see here
is Team Chuck, Team Kenny, and Team Shack. As you noted,
(22:39):
Jalen and Jason are both on Team Shack. There's a
Rising Stars team. They will play in one round, first
team to forty wins, and then they go to the finals,
first team to forty wins. That and that's how the
All Star will be played this year.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
Why are you talking like that? Like what you're speaking,
I feel like I'm being spoken down to him. Are
we gonna have a test on this later?
Speaker 1 (23:00):
I'm sorry if this feels a little condescending to you.
I think that says something more about you and your
preparation for this show. When you're not looking at Baylor
Chireman stats from his high school football career, perhaps you
should have prepared more for the basketball segment.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
Sorry, this show? How do I get extra credit? Can
I stay after class or something?
Speaker 1 (23:22):
Absolutely not. Thank you for joining us on Celtics Weekly.
We'll be back next Wednesday. Class dismissed.
