Speaker 1 (00:00):
Coming up on this episode of Celtics Weekly, Joe mizula
shares an update on Jason Patam's ankle injury. We have
highlights from an undefeated road trip so far, and Sam
hauserd is on an absolute heater.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
All that and more.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Now welcome into Celtics Weekly.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Chris Forsburg of NBC Sports Boston taking a face for
his bath. So you're ready, now, you're good, You're awake.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
I'm ready. Uh, we'll revisit this later in the show.
But I'm told this is this is what all the
kids are doing to You'm ready as you.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Drip all over your lovely Derek White sweatshirt, why you
towel off?

Speaker 4 (01:00):
He goes.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
I know that where we're starting this week is where everyone's.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Primary concern is.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Of course, that is Jason Tatum, who left the third
quarter of that Kings game with an ankle injury. You
all want updates, so let's hear from coach Joe Mizoula
about how Tatum is feeling.

Speaker 5 (01:17):
As soon as we're doing. Okay, just I sent it
right now. I didn't see the play, but they made
the right calls of flavor and fall and fortunate that
he was able to shoot the free throw and you know,
just taking care of it right now, so.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
The center with Jason can be missing.

Speaker 5 (01:32):
James, I literally just asked him I was doing. He said, okay,
I haven't had a chance to talk to him yet,
but I know he'll do anything and everything to make
sure he just gets better.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
So there's a tweet from Adam Himmel's back of the
Boston Globe. Tatum left the arena with no crutches or
boot and just a very slight limp. So obviously those
words from Missoula, no boot, a slight limp, that's all
sounding pretty positive. Forsberg, what do you think about how
do we dodge a bullet here with our star player?

Speaker 4 (01:58):
Absolutely two things. One, he shows up on the injury
for this Phoenix game is doubtful. That means there was
at least a chance that he could play, which it
seems encouraging, seems to suggest that it's not a major
sprain in that ankle. And then who would have thought
the Kelsey Brothers help us out. He appears on their
podcast and says, you know, one of the benefits of
being twenty seven is you recover quickly. So I do
think we dodged the bullet here. Hopefully Jason Tatum is

(02:20):
back on the court sooner than later.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Absolutely, All right, well, let's get to our fun of
the show, That of course is plays of the Week,
your top ten plays from the Boston Celtics in a
very long road trip. Here we start in Portland at
number ten, we're hate the two shirts. He brings up
a little short.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
But Luke Cornett has the follow and what he does.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
After road dogs, I want to keep your eye on
Deres White. I believe Derek White is the trigger here
where Luke John said he always wants to do something
for a celebration. He sees Derek White Barkin in the
land and he joins them in whooping.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Number nine.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Drew Holliday has a nice pickoff here of Zachine and
dishes it to k.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
For an easy kin in on the other end, you know,
like Drew Holliday doing Drew Holiday things always in the
right spot, but then turns that defense into a little offense.
Kat with a flock.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Number eight Sacramento again a movement maybe would have worked
in Miami because it's a flamingo from Chase and Tatum.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
Ankle was looking pretty good, right there when he was
hopping off of it. Look he practices this before game.
Sometimes you always practice the shots you're going to make
in the game.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Right, fancy moose.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Number seven Pritchard going behind the back for a finish,
breaking ankles in his.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Hometown of Lurida.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
I know Kyrie is the ankle taker, but like that
might put Prichard in the running. They had to pretty
much dust him off the floor after that. What a
moved by Pritchard. He's just so crafty.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Number six in Utah, Derek White hopes out the dribble.
Celtics work it back and find Al Horford slow here
in the Doctor.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
I think I love best is watch Derek after he
gets the strip and he just kind of wanders off
screen for a little bit, like he knows the players
going the other way, that his teammates are going to
find a way to reward that hulfle with the basket
finding out in the Darker Squad fifteen one.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Number five is another Jason Tatum highlight here he's going
one on Jo Portland.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
This is an MJ finished. I know Kobe is his guy,
but the way he finishes here is short.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
In US, I uh just takes them almost out of
his shoes. That's just Jake Evan Buskins.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Number four in Utah through Holiday intercepts the pass and
I mean, get yourself a guy who can do goals.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Just look what happens on the other end. He's here
for the little give and.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Go boy, give and gough like it's a fourth grade drill,
except it's the NBA.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
I love it. So he died all the football things
the interception. Now give us your office q V scales.
Then at the other end, what a pass like ap
big man can pass.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
That mall number three.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
We're getting a lot of play here from Richard in
his hometown of Portland. But here he trips up a
defender and just left wide.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Open for three. It's an interesting move, Cotton. Let's see
how it goes.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
This is just the Celtics were just playing with Portland
defenders on this night before guys, they have to check.
They might need some more like ankle strapped or something
to keep them up right. Believe I'm very missed with.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Number two here.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Of course, this was the craziest move of the entire
road trip in Utah. Tato looks like he's losing it,
but nope, he hacky, saxy to himself for the finish.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
People are calling this messy with the way that he
kind of kicked it up to himself. Only superstars can
do this. Don't try this at home. Fuel look foolish.
Jason Tatum makes it look like with a perfectly natural
motion and the fishing with the bucket is just absurd.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Number One Baylor Sheairman misses the three, but he gets
the steel on the rebound and then just what's behind
the massipated.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
He shouted out white chocolate, a little Sacramento throwback right there,
but I think it has Larry Bird vibes, a little
steel of ass. That was just beautiful and with that mustache,
Bailey just made it look so sexy.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Those are your place of the some fancy playmaking, wanded
Baylor Sharman at the top of our plays of the week.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
So and in the paint we are breaking down what
the Rook's been doing for us.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
Farry, So what's crazy to me is that he comes
in with this reputation of being a great three point shooter,
knock down, quick release, all those things, But what makes
him stand out lately has been in his ability to
get everyone else involved. The vision he has on the court.
He won the spotlight three plays where his vision was
on display, and we start with this one where watch
how many times you've gotta take the hand off here

(06:31):
from Al and he's gonna probe a little bit. He's
studying the floor, seeing what's out there. He's gonna all right,
nothing there, kind of kicks it back, but he's not done.
He's gonna relocate. He's gonna get another chance to probe.
And then watch this, like obviously Sam in the corner
to begin with.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
It's such good vision and I think it is underappreciated
for somebody who's just at the point of the career
that he's in the growth that he's shown since training camp.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
Really, I think what I love most is that again
teams have to respect him as a shooter, but all
of a sudden, now if they know you can put
the ball on the floor and go create for somebody else,
it's just complicates things. Are you going to close out
hard on him or are you gonna try to stay
in front of him so that he doesn't drive and
get someone else involved? Pick a poison?

Speaker 2 (07:11):
What else have we got?

Speaker 4 (07:12):
We got a second play against these poor Portland trailblazers
who just couldn't stop him. All right, so he's gonna
get again. He studying the floor. I don't even know
how he knew that Hayden would be in that spot.
This is where and you probably heard this before, Baylor
Shineman with a record setting QB.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
I was about to say, that's that's the arm right
and there.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
It is, just like leading a receiver to its spots.
A beautiful play that sets up Tatum driving finding Luke
for the dune. This is what good vision does. He
doesn't get an assist on that play, but it sets
in the motion with the hockey assist the Selplicans.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
May I say, like quick aside, don't always specialize your
kids in one sport, because the cross sport thing is real.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
You see it right there.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
All right, let's just do one more now. This is
against the heat. You got Peyton showing off his own
ability to prove. But watch this, Baylor gets it. It's
like a pretty much a triple team on it. Somehow
he knows that JB is in that corner, seeds it
out there. I go back to what he's supposed to be,
the guy in the corner. That's his reputation right, knockdown, shoot, No,
he can catch a pass in traffic. A lot of

(08:10):
players would panic in that moment where am I supposed
to go, especially a rookie. He's patient, waits for the
land to develop, flips it out, no, look just so pretty.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
I think what's also underappreciated about this is at this
point in the year, these guys are not practicing like
they are in training camp, or maybe even like they
will be in the playoffs in terms of getting into
that rhythm with each other. And Baylor Shireman is in
a really challenging spot of just having to be ready
to go all the time, and so seeing him be
in those in rhythm playmaking scenarios so impressive.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
He couldn't have known that an opportunity would open up,
but here he is when the team is shorthanded, he
is thrived. Also underappreciated that mustache, which is looking sweet Baylor,
Baylor Fireman, get it going. I love it.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
That's it. I'm not going to offset. This is mustache propaganda.
Let's bring in our buddy, Melissa Valdez.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
She's been all over social media, social snapshots, so she's
looking at a posting and.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
We love it. We I'm Meg Hi Chris.

Speaker 6 (09:06):
Let's take a look at this week's social snapshots. First
one champions run in the family. This is a post
from as Celtics muse the Illawara Hawks, who are coached
by Jason Tatum's dad, Justin. Tatum just won the NBA Championship,
which took place in Australia. I know that JT and
a couple of his teammates tuned in. They you know,

(09:27):
congratulated him. And how great is that father and son
receive in titles in the same time.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
That's incredible.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
I think they also had the same celebration. Know how
Tatum did that? We did it, that's right. I think
that busted that out as well. I love it. There's
the through line of Tatum's and winning.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
All that talk about legacy, let's take it. Am on
the claw.

Speaker 6 (09:46):
Hey, he's up next. Speaking of the best fans in
the world, of course is always are Celtics fan. This
is a photo and a post posted by as Celtics
g R D Green Runs Deep and Sacramento and we
love to see all of our Celtics fans all over
the country representing.

Speaker 4 (10:03):
Shout out to g R.

Speaker 6 (10:04):
D one of our best super fans was always showing
love to our Celtics everywhere.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
So normally if you're outside the garden after a game,
this is sort of what it looks like. But I
like that we went out to Sacramento, right, we stuff
that beam in a low and let green run deep
over all.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Of that's right.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
I just I love the interactions in this picture because
it's like it's almost like something from a painting that
you'd see on the systems.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Beautiful, the reaching and the.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Celtics fan very beautifully post.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Well done.

Speaker 6 (10:34):
Let's take a look at the laugh of Speaking of
Celtics fans, we know that we have had some really
late games. Here's a photo from at in Angelo me
trying to stay awake to watch the Celtics game tonight,
and they are definitely trying every time possible to stay awake.
We see him here dipping his face in ice cold water.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Only a total crazy person.

Speaker 6 (10:55):
You tried this, did you feel a little bit better afterwards?

Speaker 4 (10:57):
Or were you awake? I'm gonna tell you. You get
it an it should burst of energy, you get psyched up.
Maybe it was just the fact of itself. It's weekly.
I don't know, but I was ready to go and
it burnt off quick. So tonight I'm going to line
up like sevenol device every.

Speaker 6 (11:11):
I also heard our last time all started game tonight,
so we'll be back to our regular schedules soon.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
All right, we listen, thank you, don't go anywhere.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
On the other side, we are breaking down the heare
that Sam Hauser's on tam go.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
To work spot It's crazy, baby, Let's get it, let's
get it, let's see.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
Game.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
So I'm just enjoying the overall experience.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Welcome back.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
This week, our player spotlight is on Sam Houser.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Sam Hauser.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
He's the sharpshooter on the Celtics who got off to
a little bit of a slow start because he's struggling
with a back injury. But now over the last seven games,
he's averaging fourteen points per game and he leads the
Eastern Conference with twenty nine three pointers made since March tenth.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Forrestburg, how are you feeling about this heater? That Howser's line.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
If there was one thing I wanted to see before
the end of the season, it was sortus. That's for
Sam to find his groove, find that mojo beyond the
three point arc and it sure feels like he's back
to being himself. You hope that back holds up moving forward.
But when Sam's playing like this, and you can see
the number there on the screen, selfish with twenty six
and three, when he plays twenty one plus minutes, he's
getting that time when he's knocking down shots and this

(12:39):
is just a different level of the Celtish when he's
playing like this.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
Absolutely, and with Sam, you know he's progressed a lot
as a defender. When you look ahead at who he's
going to be in the playoffs, I'm wondering the role
that you see him playing, because you know there's always
these one off games where you need a hero.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Could Sam Hauser be our hero?

Speaker 4 (13:00):
Throw the in the category of Leon, Poe and Posey
and all these guys that through the years have been
elevated as role players when it's needed most. I think
Sam has absolutely has that potential. You hope that three
points shot and you bottle this up from right now,
take it into the postseason. I go back to it.
If he's knocking down shots, he's shown he's grown as
a defender. He can take on those challenges I'm eager
to see him go to another level in that postseason.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Forrestburg, it's been a while since we did the hardest
hitting segment of Celtics Weekly, which is.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Take your Yes.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Boston has gone to the dogs, and so in this
take your Picks segment, that's where we're starting. It's gonna
get weird because all of a sudden, this team is barking.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
They're barking up in huddles.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
You got Luke Carnet barking as his celebration. They're road
dogs and they're taking.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
Pride in it for us.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
I love it. So it started last year Jalen Brown
in the locker room after games, after playoff road wins.
We'll go in there and be like, where my road
Dog's at and everyone starts barking. Now they're doing it
after Tippin's on the court, and it's just getting weird.
But we do have to there's another level to the dog.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
There is another level because I think the first point
that we had the start I would take your pick
is which dog breathe fits with each of these Celtics' personalities.
And I'm gonna start with what I think is the
most obvious one. Okay, Luke Cornett is a Great Dane.
If you ever see the great Dane at the dog park,
it's like the friendliest dog. It looks big and kind

(14:26):
of imposing but a little awkward at the same time,
but the friendliest, just like dependable man's best friend.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
Okay, so we're tracking on the same wavelane. But for me,
it's a golden Dudle. Look, I own a Golden Doodle.
They are big, they're kind of clumsy sometimes, but they're
actually super athletic, and they're super smart, like way too smart.
And that's Luke on the court where you look at
him and you're like, it's just a seven foot two
big guy, really can't do much and all's done. He's
junking on you and barking in your face.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
I think he's a golden Okay, you mentioned your dog,
So I gotta get to mind because I have a
Siberian Husky and the lore that I watch christops poursing
the more I go that is a dirty husky.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
I love Porzingis. He's extremely athletic. He's one of one
got those uniforn qualities like a husky if you've seen him,
but sometimes a little out of control. Yep, And there's
the dirt factor. I see there is a little bit
of a Dirk factor. And I don't say that as
a bad thing. I say it as a compliment because.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
All right. I went the high route here and I said,
I googled what is the most joyful dog? And I
was told that is the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Now look,
I'm conflicted. I don't think we should bringing the cavaliers
into this conversation. And yet if that is the most
joyful dog, then that is the way I must go.
Because KT is the most joyful player on the Southeast
and he just exuberance and happiness and it permeates his play.

(15:42):
And so whatever that Cavalier Spaniel dog is, that's kPa
my next choice.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
It really goes back to some of the jumbo tron
segments that we've seen with Jaylen Brown.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Because you get these dumbotron segments where everyone's all over
the place and Jalen is focused on the task at hand.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
That makes him a German shepherd, Okay, Jalen Brown, He's
always locked in. He's got the warrior mentality.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
He's like, we're playing fetch.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
We're playing fetch, Okay, I'm not messing around with anybody else.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
It's the task at hand.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
You could not have nailed this one more. This is
the one we that absolutely agree on. When we're walking
into the garden, there's usually German shepherds like patrolling as
people are walking in, keeping out all the riff ral
and that to be is Jalen Brown laser prochas. You know,
just well, you could throw a tennis ball out him.
He's not playing with it in the moment until it
needs to be and then when he's time to play,
it's just dunking on everybody. I love that pick.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
Okay, our final one, of course, we had to toss
one out to JT. I'm throwing JT at bone because
he had an.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Ankle injury earlier in the league, and so I'm giving
him a French sheeet because he has a frind sheet
and he loves friend chees and French cheese. I believe
her the most popular dog in the United States right now,
and that's what JT should be among.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
NBA fiss Okay, I don't even know how I'm gonna
pronounce this right, but I'm going with shan lo yed,
which is evidently like a really expensive, attention demanding dog.
And that's what Jason Tatum is the biggest contract in
NBA history. He demands your attention. Player, a dog, a
whatever we want to call him. He's a samo. Yet
I can't afford one. I told one, I want I
want one.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
I don't know. We'll google it after the show.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
I should have done that too when I googled it
in the first place.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
But you know, so much of this was born out
of the celebration that we're seeing from Loluke Cornette, which
I love the barking, but it gets us into our
next topic, which is what's.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
The best Celtics celebration? Right now? You got pocket bullet
threes right on the right. I'm sure here, but sure.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
You've got the kiss, which now Baylor Shireman is trying
to co opt.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
He said, he said he did it in high school
and he got JT's okay to use it.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
Okay, you got the seat belt, which we've seen at
times from JB. So what's your favorite?

Speaker 4 (17:42):
Oh, put me on the spot first, all right, says
I'm wearing the sweatshirt. I'm going with Derek's pocket full
of threes because I didn't see it comming like he's
all of a sudden, he's like messing around with those shorts.
It's getting a little heavy. Turns out he's got the
threes everywhere and we're gonna get to it later. But
Derek has a chance to be the single season leader
in three points and those pockets are just overflowing with threes. Right.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Absolutely needs cargo shorts. I think they're coming back. My
favorite is to the barking Marking's hilarious, don't I know
that there's another team in the league, and okay, see
who's doing barking as well?

Speaker 2 (18:09):
But there's enough barks around for everybody. So I love
it from Luke Cornett. If you had a celebration, what
would it be?

Speaker 1 (18:15):
Mine is I'm going with the remember and clueless when
they do the whatever, I flipped that over for an
M for mego ooh, I like that.

Speaker 4 (18:22):
You little M. But then you gotta flip it up
and do the whatever.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
I love that, although I think you're making like an
upset down you. You need to get those thumbs checked
with your doctors.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
That golf in the winter is doing something new.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
Uh So my choice would be. I think of like
two back to two Celtic things. Recently Luke with the
robo dab, I love it. It's just out of control,
like it doesn't seem like you didn't know what to
do with his body, so you just start dabbing, which
would jump the shark like ten years ago. I'm fine
with that. Or I think back to Gershawani Albicelle. I
know he's with the Sixers now, but when he used
to hit a three and then grab the arrow and
launch it to the moon, I just thought that was

(18:54):
pretty pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
Yeah, it was something like it looked like that it
was out of Greek mythology, which was really great. The
Celtics are almost done with this very long road trip
that have very late start times for us on the
East Coast covering in. I know everybody feels really bad
for us. How do you stay up through these ten
pm starts?

Speaker 4 (19:12):
Besides multiple face baths, what I'd like to do is
drink a lot of coffee. So I asked Ali the
other night, I said, when do you start drinking coffee?
And he said normally it's seven hours before he goes
to bed. I said, that's way too much information. Just
tell me like a time. But for me, caffeine doesn't
affect me, So I will sit there and chug like
cappuccinos and all as many. I don't do energy drinks
that's bad for you. But coffee, tea, whatever I can

(19:35):
get my hands on that has maybe a little bit
of caffeine in there. I'm chugging that straight up until
like one am, and then I get home and I'm like,
what am I going to do?

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Okay, if you've got a problem with energy drinks from
feeling very sheepish about what I'm about to say, because
my go to a choice for staying up for a
ten PM start.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
Rhymes with fountain Brew. Not I do diet.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
I do a zero version, so it's actually not as
bad for your teeth as far as I do.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
They make a Baja blast diet version.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
Fountain Brew Fountain Brew, Yes, I believe that they do.
But as I said, we're almost done with this long
road trip. Let's move into future folk it. The Celtics
round out this road trip against the Sun's Spurs and Grizzlies.
They start out in Phoenix. There's a team that's gone
through a lot but has been playing really well recently.

(20:24):
So what are you expecting from this matchup?

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Course?

Speaker 4 (20:25):
Now, yeah, they're rolling right now and KD. Booker, they've
been playing well even without Bradley Beal. You've got to
be ready. That's a team that's kind of fighting for
their playoff lives, that wants to show that the start
of the year wasn't indicative of what they can do.
This is a night you wish you had paid him
out there because he loves playing against Kevin Durant, remember,
like he thought he might be drafted by Phoenix. So
I just think this is a good opportunity to kind
of keep this momentum rolling regardless of who's out there.

(20:48):
Celtics have always drived no matter who's on the court.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
Next off is San Antonio, and this is kind of
a matchup where you look at it in November and
you go, what a great stretch is this going to be?
Unfortunately you have the very serious win Andyanna injury earlier
in the season. So is there anything that you can
really see from this matchup the Celtics.

Speaker 4 (21:05):
You know a little bit of a new look team,
right Darren Fox there, Now, I wonder if you can
just find some desire to keep the momentum going, you
got this is another game where there's gonna be plenty
of these at the finish line. What is the inspiration,
what is the motivation? Joe's got to find a way
to kind of keep these guys motivated even if the
superstar players aren't out there. Maybe it's another night where
you can kind of lean on that stay ready group

(21:25):
and keep it going.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Highest seated team of the whole bunch is the Memphis Grizzlies,
And this all for me comes down to Jah Morant.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
Day to day.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
What's his availability going to be, because this could be
a really fun matchup if you're able to have both
teams at least kind of reasonably healthy and available.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
And the kind that I would like to see before
you head into the players.

Speaker 4 (21:47):
Exactly when I was going through the end of the
year schedule, I kind of circle this one. Okay, this
is the night where everybody gets their best players out there,
maybe more of a playoff field and we'll see in
other games. The one thing I would note is that
Memphis is on the front end of a vast to back.
They got to play goal in the state. You start wondering, like,
would they save their horses for that night. But it
is a very good team out of the Western Conference.
It could be a chance to really kind of punctuate

(22:09):
this road trip in a positive way. It goes back
to what Celtics, regardless of who's out there, got to
be ready, got to be ready to go.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
It's been really fun watching the stay Ready group as
they call themselves through the last several games, especially Baylor
Shireman like we talked about earlier in the show. But
one thing to keep your eye on if you're clucked
in on all these games is the three point record,
first set by Isaiah Thomas. That's two hundred and forty
five most threes in a season by a single player.

(22:36):
It could be broken by any three Celtics players maybe
as you're watching this today. So you have Derek White
who is two seventy three, Peyton Pritchard who is two
thirty six. I'm sorry, that's two thirty seven from Derek White,
and Jason Tatum who is two thirty six as well.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
It's so close. It's gonna come down to availability, right
like who is able to play in these final games.
I wonder if you think Jason Tatum might miss some
time with this ankle. If Derek White gets a couple
of days to just ramp down because of all the
basketball he's played, does that open the door for potential
six Man of the Year or well, that's feel pretty
certain to go out there and just put another line

(23:12):
in the Celtics history books. He's already got that forty
to forty game with d White, He's already got like
the most three pointers off the bench in a season.
How cool would it be if Peyton Pritchard is the
guy that is the single season leader in Celtics three pointers.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
Absolutely I kind of feel that way too, like it's
a huge win if any of these guys break that
franchise record for a single season. But with Pam Pritchard,
I just think that the more he can stack those
accolades for him as you're looking for that end of
the year award, I'm very much in favor of that. Forstberg,
I have a feeling you have some kind of cold
plunge or Swedish tauna.

Speaker 4 (23:43):
That you have a banana I can rub on my face.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
Maybe maybe the fruit market will go check it out
after the show.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
Thank you so much for being with us. This has
been Celtic's weekly. We will join you the next one. Monday,
