Speaker 1 (00:03):
Brace for Winnings is a production of I Heart Radio.
Brace for Winnings, your weekly stop for all things wagering
on the NFL in I Heart Radio podcast presented by
Draft Kings sports Book. I think they might be taking
the team to the locker room. Guys, Wow, I think
they're taking the team off the field. Yeah, they are.

(00:24):
The game has been temporarily suspended to further notification. So
the game, as you heard had referee Shan Smith say,
has been temporarily suspended. Oh yes, it is another episode
of Brace for Winnings, presented by DraftKings Sports Book. With
you here, I am Sean Brace. Now. Normally we would

(00:45):
open up, of course, with an introduction to what you're
going to hear on the following episode of Brace for Winnings,
and we would get into three questions from the NFL week.
That was, of course, our minds are on one topic
when it comes to the NFL at this point in time.
Even though it is the final week of the regular
season and playoff matchups and and seedings and all that
will be figured out here, none of that matters because

(01:06):
of what we saw on Monday night when the shocking
hit from tomar Hamlin the tee Higgins resulted in the
paramedics rushing on the field and ultimately giving CPR and
you even using the a D the fibulator UM to
revive the young man. But as we are recording this
right now on Thursday morning here, January five, Sean Brason

(01:29):
j J with you. Uh it puts a huge smile
on both of our faces to give you the latest
report from the Buffalo Bills as of about ten thirty
a m. On January five, and it reads his follow
per the physicians caring for Tomorrow Hamlin at the University
of Cincinnati Medical Center to Marrows shown remarkable improvement over
the past twenty four hours. While still critical critically ill,

(01:52):
he has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically intact,
his lungs continue to heal, and he's making steady progress.
We are grateful for the love and support we have
as he received um it. Also, there is a word
out there from Ian Rappaport that the young man Tomar
Hamlin has opened his eyes and is holding the hands

(02:14):
of his loved ones around his hospital beds. So, needless
to say, it's the update we all wanted to see.
Needless to say it all exhale a little bit right,
and I think we can slowly get back to the
game that we love. But putting all that to the side,
just for a second, again, this young man j J

(02:36):
just tremendous to read that update this morning. Yeah, it
is tremendous to read that update. And I think obviously
the initial reaction to the hit obviously was just hoping
he was okay, and um, obviously very scary, horrifying to
not only the guys on that field, but the people
in that stadium, everyone watching. It was a very traumatic scene.

(02:57):
But I'm just glad that afterwards because there is always
this notion that, you know, the players are there for entertainment,
but do people really appreciate the players, the humans that
are playing this game for our entertainment? And seven million
dollars later, I think they do. And I don't know
if that's a huge statement. I don't know if that's
completely telling of you know, people appreciating what these players

(03:19):
put on the line every single week. But I will
call on a lot of people to continue that not
only just seven million dollars for DeMar Hamlin's charity, but
with any winnings you have this week. Every player that
is playing in a game this week saw that hit,
knows of that hit, and is feeling this, is also
feeling that trauma. Why not donate to any causes you

(03:39):
can with any winnings you get or any losings you
get for the next week, maybe for the rest of
the season, and donate some of that to some of
these charities. Let's continue to keep that moving forward, that
these players are appreciated. We know they're putting their bodies
on the line, and we know the ugly side of
the NFL is this, and maybe we can continue to
pay it forward the way everybody did with tomor Hamlin's charity. Yeah,

(03:59):
you're talking about the Chasing M's Foundation Community Toy Drive,
which is now expan ended to just Chasing Emma's Foundation.
Of course they're gonna still concentrate on the community toy trip,
but I don't think they're gonna buy over seven million
dollars worth the toys. Uh So it's a huge deal,
and the numbers and the money continues to come in.
I did see that there's t shirts being printed that
are just selling like hotcakes out there in Cincinnati with

(04:22):
the little Cincinnati Bengal and Buffalo Bill combination with the
number three and all the proseeds are going. So everyone's
going to continue to raise money and honor and tribute
to this young man, uh tomorrow Hamlin. Which look, there's
some really good reporting out there on who this guy is,
who he was, and you know, staying home in Pittsburgh,
some really really great reporting. So do yourself a favor.

(04:44):
And this is a guy hand in the air, had
no idea who he was, no idea who he was
heading into this game. So you look at what this
young man stands for twenty four years old, second year
in the league, out of pit and what he was
doing where this toy drive had a goal of ten
or at the point at ten thousand dollars. He started
this before he got to the NFL. Think about that

(05:07):
just for a second. If this is what he's doing,
think about the stories that you don't know, from the
big time players, to the coaching staff, to the people
are just involved with the game, to the people that
love the game like us here, like you listening out there.
Just tremendous story right now. And as I said, we
got all exhale. It's moving in the right direction. It
feels like and um, I I feel like we can.

(05:30):
I feel like there's an appetite for conversation now with
these games for NFL Week A team. So with that,
allow us two transfer over into that conversation and we
will do so with our pick segments that's coming up.
We'll give you a six pack of picks. We got
some unbelievable games to discuss, and of course we're gonna
get into some of those contracts incentives as well some

(05:50):
of the player props that we can fire on. And
we got some of the best people in the business
in the industry from the sports gambling standpoint to hone
in on who some of these players are that ultimately
have a lot more to play for than just wins
and losses this weekend, because at the end of the day,
it is a business. Quickly on this one, j G,
I just want to ask you this. It was a

(06:10):
tough conversation earlier this week. Now as we're moving a
little bit forward with a better update. Right as we
just reported, the overall number one seed is so important.
It's so important, it might be the most important in
the NFL out of all the professional sports. You get
that one week off, you get home field throughout you

(06:31):
don't have to see that difficult team and maybe into
the championship game that you don't want to face off against,
whether it's Buffalo or Cincinnati or casus to you. However,
it works out, and all season long, you're making a
big deal about that overall number one seed, and then
all this situation goes down the hitting in Buffalo or
hitting Cincinnati, and it felt like everybody was just going

(06:52):
to be okay, which I'm fine with. But now that
we are getting closer to football, getting closer to seeing
games being played again, this is an interesting question. And
if you're the commissioner, how do you handle the final
two games for Buffalo, for Cincinnati and for the overall

(07:13):
number one seed. I'll just go first, there's a bye
week in between the Super Bowl and the NFC AFC
Championship games. That's gotta go to me. I feel like
they needed to play this game, Cincinnati and Buffalo. I
don't know if you pick it up seven three. I'm
fine if you do that, but you got to play
the game. And that's what I was saying. Now I

(07:35):
realized there are other ways you can go about it,
and if you're going to get the teams to sign off,
then my opinion is minute. But as we sit here
right now, if I'm commissioner Brace, my only take is
you gotta play that game some way, somehow. You play
the week eighteen games as is. Buffalo New England is
now on the Draft Kings sports book board, now listed
as Buffalo seven point favorites at home taking out of Patriots.

(07:57):
That game has playoff implications, and in the following week,
you gotta play that game. That was my stance. I
don't know where you are, but your thoughts, how would
you handle if you were a commissioner. Yeah, they're gonna
have to push things back with the a f C.
And that also means what you just said, the open
week between the super Bowl and the championship games probably
needs to be utilized. Uh. I can't see any way

(08:18):
that they kind of move on without making this really
fair to both teams, because look, Buffalo, you know you
still have to be fair to them with this. You know,
you can't punish any of these teams because they're dealing
with what happened with tomar Hamlin. I think they need
to be given a fair shot at that number one seed.
The way that every other team should get a fair
shot at it, and I think that means pushing things
back just a little bit, which is completely fine. The NFL,

(08:40):
like the NFL, is gonna make money either way. The
NFL is going they The thing is, the NFL isn't
moving things around forever. If the NFL says, hey, I
want to do something on this day, guess what, everybody
moves things around for the NFL and they get it done.
So it can happen, it should happen. And I think
from what I've seen that maybe one of the more
likely scenarios we get well. I did see Joe Burrow
saying that it would be tough to replay that game

(09:02):
to get back out there, And again, I don't think
it's going to be up to the players. This is
a business decision at the end. You want to keep
in mind the mental health for the players and everything.
But as we continue to get a little bit further
from the Monday night that when the incident took place,
I think maybe you might get a different vibe every

(09:23):
single day. I'm just speaking from my perspective because I
know I have felt differently each day that has passed. Now,
I am not a Buffalo bill player. I'm not a
Cincinnati Bengal player, but we know how it works. The
almighty dollar controls all as sad as it is to
say that that's what it comes down to. Now, also
put out there win percentage. There are people saying that
win percentage could be the end all be all, and

(09:45):
selfishly just like to say, I catch my Kansas City
overall number one seed ticket. If that's the case either way,
I'm good, but I would much rather come out on top.
So if you don't play the game, I'm okay with
if Kansas City beats Las Vegas on Saturday. So with
let's get it started. What do you say here? It's

(10:06):
Brace for winnings. He got Sean Brace, he got j J.
We got your six pack of picks. Let's go Brason,
j J. Crack open a sixer this week. Six games,
six plays, six pack up hicks. Alright, j J. A
fresh six pack for NFL Week eighteen. I want to

(10:28):
go ahead and plug our good friend Jared Smith from
pigs wise dot com and Fox Sports Radio'll be sure
to check out everything he has to say from the
player prop incentive angle. A lot of money to be
made in the final week of the NFL regular season,
especially the past two years with the legalization of sports
gambling across the number of these states. Jared Smith is
wanted the best, and a matter of fact, I believe

(10:50):
he might even be the o g when it comes
down to it. He gave me a couple of months
to go ahead and dangle out here on braids for winnings.
So let's get after you. First up, game number one,
Saturday afternoon. This game has a ton of meaning, as
we just discussed in the open, Kansas City on the
road in Vegas taking on the Raiders Kansas City nine
point favorites. Listen to this total coming in a fifty

(11:12):
two and a half. Just want to put that out
there as well as raft King Sports Book Kansa Verus, Vegas.
It opened at minus ten on Sunday night, dropped down
to his lowest seven and a half for the Chiefs.
But here we are with the Bills situation, so just
bump back up to ten because there is a lot
more to play for for the Kansas City Chiefs. They're
playing for the first round by and home field avantage
in the a f C. Throughout it will be the

(11:33):
third number one seed in five seasons for the Kansas
City Chiefs. You had, I've been pretty good, right, Kansas
City have already locked up the a f C West. Yeah,
how about this the seventh consecutive year. Remember at the
beginning of this season, where everbody's talking about how difficult
that division was going to be. Well, they're one of
two teams in the NFL right now. They're currently five
and oh against division opponents, including thirty to twenty nine

(11:55):
victory at home over A Vegas on Monday night back
in Week five. Little history over here. Patrick Mahomes has
an opportunity to eight the season passing record if he
gets four hundred thirty yards. Something to keep in mind there.
As far as the player prop incentive angle, he's already joined.
Drew Brees is the only quarterbacks to have multiple five
thousand yards and forty touchdown seasons. We know Patrick Holmes

(12:18):
is pretty good. What do we know about the famer already? Exactly?
What do we know about Jared Stidham though? On the
Vegas side, that's the question made His first started completed
thirty four for three, sixty five, three touchdowns, two inter septions,
and a loss. But look pretty good against the number
one defense in the NFL. Of course, we're talking about
forty niners. The Chiefs are not that. They're the eighteenth

(12:39):
ranked defense in total yards. Funny nugget here. That was
Stidham's first start since throwing for three seventy one yards
in his college finale at Auburn and the eight team
Music City Bowl against Perdue. This one, it's really tough
because it's a big number and Kansas City doesn't cover
a lot because they have a lot of big numbers.
They're five ten and one against the spread. Raiders are
eight and eight. So surprisingly the Raiders are better than

(13:01):
the Chiefs against the number. But there are some factors here.
Obviously they're gonna go for that. I think Patrick Mahomes
is gonna go for the single season yards passing record.
He's had over four hundred thirty before. That happened actually
this season. I'm sure he's done it before, but it
did happen this season. Had four hundred forty six yards
against Tennessee on sixty eight pass attempts. Do we see
maybe Patrick Mahomes go over past attempts. That's a number

(13:23):
I'm certainly going to look at. But in terms of
the spread. I don't think Jared Stidham is going to
do that again. Uh not really somebody I think that's
gonna be able to put up thirty four points a
game consistently. There were a lot of trick plays, a
lot of creative play design from Josh McDaniels. Maybe you
should have been doing that earlier for your other quarterback,
but nonetheless he doesn't. For Stidham, I don't know if
he can get away with that against the Kansas City Chiefs.

(13:44):
I think the Chiefs do roll here. It's not my
favorite play on the board, but I do like the
Kansas City Chiefs slang the nine and a half. Agreed
with you as far as not my favorite playing on
the board, but I'm gonna go against you here. I'm
gonna take the home team, the Vegas Raiders, only because
Kansas City has trouble putting teams away and covering the
big number against six times favorite by double digits this

(14:04):
season only one cover that was back in Week sixteen
against the Seattle Seahawks. I like the way Stidham looked.
He's got a little bit of history with the head
coach McDaniels since his time with the Patriots had a
little something going there. Now he is dealing with a
little elbow injury right now as we speak, putting that
to the side. If he gets to start, I like
the Raiders here, give me the nine. I'll take it

(14:25):
at home, and why not my homes. Even if he
throws for four thirty, I still think they could keep
this as a shootout in a close game. So I'm
gonna take the Vegas Raiders on this one. Next alright,
Game number two, Saturday night, little primetime action and this
is a banger of a game. A FC South title
on the line in a winter take all showdown. Titans

(14:46):
at the Jags on Saturday Night. Titans have one nine
out of their last ten in the series prior to
the last time that these two teams matched up, and
that was a victory by the Jacksonville Jags thirty six
two in in Nashville. As I just said it his head,
this has been a dominant performance by the Titans over
the past ten games. That was the first victory though

(15:08):
for the Jacksonville Jags in their four game winning streak.
Flip side Titans, Yeah, they've lost sixth straight. Joshua Dobbs
at quarterback, coming off his first start in six years.
Coming off his first start of his six year NFL career.
In the loss to the Cowboys, Dobbs completed twenty of
thirty nine passes for two thirty two, one touchdown, one pick.

(15:28):
He looked okay, but there's nothing that makes me want
to back him here. Dobbs was signed by the Detroit Line.
Dobbs was signed from the Detroit Lions practice squad on
December one. How effective can he really be? Well, what
I'll tell you is gonna help him getting Derrick Henry
back in the mix. Of course, he missed the Dallas
game and he's definitely going to play here on Saturday night.

(15:49):
The top one hundred yards and each of his last
three appearances, including one one yards against the Jags that
last time that they played. He ranks third in the
NFL with over fourteen hundred yards. Over on the other
side to your boy, I don't know if you know,
there's JJ discovered Trevor Lawrence. He has now thrown for
over thirty nine yards, twenty four touchdowns and only eight interceptions.

(16:12):
But here's the question I have for you, j J.
And I'll allow you to open this bad way up six.
Jacksonville is only favored by six. I feel like this
number should be a little bit bigger from what we've
seen from both of these teams. As I just laid
out there, you want to talk about some of the
defensive numbers right now, Titans defense last verse to run
and twenty overaul on defense. As I said, Jags are grooving.

(16:35):
I'm scratching my head at why this is under a touchdown.
Your thoughts, Yeah, maybe it's a little bit of respect
to Tennessee. Still getting Derrick Henry, but as you just said,
a hundred twenty one yards or Derrick Henny against the
Jacksonville Jaguars. They lost by fourteen in that game, thirty
twenty two final in that one. But I think what's
what I really love in this game Jacksonville's defense. They

(16:56):
haven't been playing very good quarterbacks. Actually, they've been playing
bad quarterbacks Zach Wilson and Davis Mills. Not good. But
in the last two weeks number two in e p
A per play allowed, number one, in success rate number
three and drop back e p A per play allowed
number two and drop back success rate. Basically, Jags defense
in the last two Weeks has been the best defense
in the NFL. But John, it's Zach Wilson, Davis Mills,

(17:19):
it's Josh Dobbs. He just got signed off of the
Detroit Lions practice squad. Ryan Tattehill was already struggling against
this Jacksonville defense. I don't think Josh Jobbs is gonna
play well in this game. He was just fine. I
commend him from playing find in that game. And look,
it's great that he's getting a shot and he took
his opportunity and he ran with it. But this is

(17:40):
a Jacksonville defense that is playing better. They've been eating
up quarterbacks like this, and the quarterback on the other end,
Trevor Lawrence is playing like one of the best in
the league. And give credit to his coach, who's gonna
be up there for Coach of the Year discussions. He
is attacking every weakness of every defense with absolute assassin
like maneuvers. I love the things Doug Peterson is doing

(18:01):
in Jacksonville and the quarterback that he had, But now
they have a defense to go along with it. If
it's under a touchdown, I'm taking it all right. That's
from the game perspective. Let me just give you one
player prop and sent to perspectives A Jones he stands
to make an additional with two more catches and an
extra half a mill with nine eight more receiving yards. Again,

(18:22):
this game is going to be difficult, but you better
believe that they will target these guys if they have
the opportunity to get that type of cash. DraftKings right
now has the z A Jones receiving prop total at
only forty seven and a half yards. I like that
play more than anything. Putting that to the side, though,
I pirates, I cannot take the Titans. I have watched

(18:43):
a lot of Tennessee football over the last four to
five weeks, including that game against the Dallas Cowboys. Is
a bad football team. I know Vrabel will have that
defense ready to play. They're gonna play to their utmost potential,
but that bar is so low. And if Jacksonville just
gives me eighty five eight percent of what they have
shown us over this last month of football, play here,

(19:05):
Doug Peterson and Trevor Lawrence are going to roll on
Saturday night and they will win the a f C South.
Something my co host over here said in preseason, give
me a little credit there to Sunday We Go and
the Giants in our backyard taken on the Philadelphia Eagles
in this game is so important for the Philadelphia Eagles

(19:26):
JJ A win and they lock up the overall number
one seed, and of course that all important. Buy. If
they lose and Dallas wins, then we got some huge issues.
Dallas wins the division and if the Eagles lose in
the San Francisco forty Niners win, then the Philadelphia Eagles
will not get that overall number one seed. They can

(19:46):
drop as low to the fifth seed, which is just bananas.
The thing about I don't believe that they will lose
this game, but the almighty spread is that equalizer and
no Draftking sports book where it can have two touchdowns
Philadelphia Eagles favored by two touchdowns your total j J.
I'll go first. Eagles should not be given anybody double

(20:07):
digits right now. As we say here, you could roll
Jalen Hurts back in there. You could give me Jalen
Hurts in Week seven, Week Gate, whatever game you want
to give me. Bottom line is this team is not
hitting on all cylinders like they were at one point
throughout the course of this season, little troublesome, blaring issues.
But here's what I know. A win and everything goes away,
get the bye, and you roll into the playoffs and

(20:30):
you can fix what you need to fix in that
off week and take on whatever opponent will be coming
to your backyard to open up the playoffs. Putting that
to the side though for the spread, I'm gonna look
at the New York Giants here, whether they roll with
the starters or not. And I think Dable will play
the starters. I do. I think that these guys are
gonna play two to three quarters, if not the full game.
Maybe not say Kwon Barkley, but Daniel Jones absolutely. And

(20:52):
even if they have to go to Tyrod Taylor, he
could still run that offense. We know what how that
offense works. Run heavy, move the chains, control the clock.
I like the Giants catching two touchdowns here. Yeah, I'm
not gonna have to go with the Giants as well.
And it's more not not because I think the Eagles
are going to struggle still, it's just what are they
going to have to do in this game really to

(21:13):
win this one? Like, I don't think they're gonna have
some ult your great game plan and you know they're
gonna try and boat race the Giants. This isn't to
me a get right spot, quote unquote. The Eagles are fine,
they just aren't healthy. They need to get out of
this game healthy, and that includes your quarterback getting out
of this game healthy. They should win this game. I
think they do win this game, and I think they
win this game pretty easily. But are they gonna try

(21:35):
and rack up the points enough to win this one
by more than two touchdowns? Now, I'm not necessarily sure
about that. This game is a tough read. Obviously, with
games like this you kind of want to stay away from.
But I do like the two touchdowns with the Giants.
It's a very big number. It's not that I don't
think all the Eagles issues are going to be fixed
with Jalen Arts or they won't be fixed. It's just

(21:55):
that they're still hurt in other areas. They're not add
percent healthy. So I think the Eagles still just want
to get out of this healthy, get that number one seed,
get the bye week, and then really ramp things up
when they get in the playoffs, obviously in the second rounds.
So I like the Giants here getting the four team
Eagles fans, if you plan on wagering on this game,
especially if you're a new customer for Drafting sports Book,

(22:16):
take advantage of that new customer offer. Of course, as
we just laid out, the Eagles are a fourteen point favorite.
They are minus nine five on the money line. I
don't think you're gonna play that. So here's how you can.
You put five dollars on the Philadelphi Eagles to win
and you can win one fifty. That's it, nice and easy.
At five dollars, you win one fifty if the philadelph

(22:37):
Eagles do come out on top minus good luck on
that one, alright. Same on Sunday here j J. Let's
talk about a game that has playoff applications, but barely.
Although I don't believe the New England Patriots are going
to beat the Buffalo Bills. We'll leave that one alone
though for right now as we're recording this podcast. But
at one o'clock Jets and Dolphins. Dolphins are still in

(23:00):
line for the last playoff spot. They do need some help.
As I just said here though, Jets on the road
in Miami, and the Jets are a point and a
half favorite. The Dolphins opened up as four point favorites.
I would assume that the major line movement has to
do with the fact that notes who a and no
Teddy Bridgewater in this one. As we are recording this

(23:22):
podcast on Thursday morning, I have just read that Skyler
Thompson is now taking all of the first team snaps,
so I assume he will be the starting quarterback comes
Sunday against the New York Jets again a low total
of thirty eight and a half. No surprise there, but
the Dolphins returning home into Miami after losing five straight.
Why am I feeling like they could finally find a

(23:43):
way to win a football game. I like the Dolphins.
I don't think the Jets are good enough, and I
don't think the Jets have you know, enough going for
them right now to play the role of spoiler. I
think they're gonna roll into this game ho hum, disappointed
at the end of the season. Just took place last
week on the road in Seattle where Mike White could
not come through from m I like the Dolphins in
this one. Be all the points you want to give me.

(24:05):
I'm rolling with the home team. Yeah, the Jets are
played two three very bad defenses Detroit, Jacksonville, Seattle point
totals in those games seventeen three and six not very good.
But Miami's defense, again, I would even put them in
the class of those defenses. They are not very good,
especially against the past, giving up two fifty eight yards

(24:25):
per game. I'm gonna rely on that Jets defense in
this one. I think the Jets defense is going to
play well here. Skylar Thompson. Look, it's really not a
fair shake for this guy. I really want him because
I liked him out of Kansas State. I want him
to get a fair shot at some point in his
NFL career. But the circumstances that he's been in spelling
for Teddy Bridgewater when he's been out and when two
has been out as well, and now getting a start

(24:45):
here and a must win and could possibly be and
maybe looks like it will be a win, and in
situation just doesn't seem very good. When Sauce Gardner is
lined up and DJ Reid lined up on the other side, Miami,
they have to pass the ball. But Skylar Thompson hasn't
done well in those situations. That two game in which
he's had extended passing attempts thirteen and twenty one. Is

(25:07):
completion percentage lies around fifty and is QBR forty against
Minnesota and thirteen past attempts at QBR fifty four point
five against New England with one past attempts. Unfortunately, he's
just right now not there as the starting quarterback. So
I'm gonna rely on the one thing I know that's
very good, and that's that Jets defense. Mike White had

(25:28):
a bad game against Seattle, but that was his first
game back. I think he's gonna be a little bit
better here and be the better quarterback in this game.
It's not the best circumstances, obviously to be betting on
a Jets team that has lost how many in a row,
but Miami has also done that. I do like the
Jets a lot in this one, laying the small number,
so I'll take New York all right. For many of
the goals, pretty simple for the Miami Dolphins. Run the

(25:50):
football effectively and try and get waddle and hill the
ball as much as you can in space. They have
lived and died by the big play. You gotta find
a way to allow your big play receivers to make
those plays again. Even though two is not in there
to me. I get it. He's a very accurate quarterback,
but he's not the type of guy that's gonna throw
the football sixty yards down the field. So that offense

(26:12):
is still intact no matter the quarterback. I wish Teddy
Bridgewater was in there, but I'll roll with whoever. I
think the Dolphins are desperate to find a way to
win a football games in this season, whether they make
the playoffs or not. On the right foot. Give me
the Dolphins catching the points at home next, all right,
and for our final game breakdown, we got one more
play coming your way. Don't worry about that. It's a
six pack of picks. We're not gonna go ahead and short.

(26:34):
You're there. But this is the game of the weekend,
my friends. Sunday night football saved the best four last
Detroit Lions, the fighting Dan Campbell's were biting knee caps.
Let's go take it on the Green Bay Packers Aaron
Rodgers and company. And they've been playing great football as
if late. We understand that. And how about this. You

(26:55):
gotta give a lot of credit to both of these teams.
The Lions, they lost six of their first seven games
and the Packers entered last month with a four and
eight record. Unbelievable to see what we're witnessing right now
as we speak. But in going from four and eight
to eight and eight Green Bay, how have they've done this?
It hasn't been on Aaron Rodgers arm in my opinion

(27:15):
a little bit, but more on the balance. If you
look over the last four games during the four game
win streak for the Green Bay Packers, one pass attempts,
one five runs, I realized Aaron Rodgers is still one
of the best quarterbacks out there. Doesn't matter who is
lining up at the wide receiver position, but a ton
of credit goes to Aaron Jones and a J. Dillon
who have just been on a terar, averaging one twenty

(27:38):
four and a half yards per game over that last
four games span. Now, if you've got to look though
over the past four games, they haven't really played any
tough opponents. In my opinion, all due respect to the
Minnesota Vikings, Packers control their own destiny. They are in
a win in. They're in situation at home. Lions need
a little help here. Seahawks lost with the Detroit Lions.
Win means their end Lions turn around, though, how about

(28:01):
this came at the at the hands of defeat over
the green Bay Packers fifteen and nine. Back on November six,
Rogers had a terrible game and against the lines, and
that one he threw three interceptions, including two in the
end zone. Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have
been automatic for the playoffs twelve out of Rogers fourteen
seasons with the Green Bay Packers, they have made the playoffs.

(28:24):
J J. They don't do it this year. Detroit goes
on the road and shocks the world. Give me the Lions,
give me the bite and knee caps fighting Dan Carripbell's
and company. And they go out there and explode on
offense like they do if they were indoors. It doesn't matter.
This is a huge game. This is the biggest game

(28:45):
in Detroit Lions recent history. They know it. They're going
to live up to the expectations. They're gonna win the game.
Don't know if they're gonna get into the playoffs, because
as I said, they do. You need help, but I
like them to win. Here. Give me all the points
you want. Catching four and a half on Draft King
Sports Book. Yeah, I don't know if I'm on the
same boat with you, and I'm gonna be interested to
see how the public is ending up betting on this one,

(29:06):
because Detroit has been a bit of a darling here
and they didn't play well forty one points in the
last game. But green Bay also at forty one against
the Minnesota Vikings. They have looked very good to me.
Now that Detroit Lions game, I want to go back
to it against the green Bay Packers. I think these change.
These teams have changed a lot, but I think more
of the changes have come with the green Bay Packers.
In that game, green Bay's defense was excellent against the
pretty good Detroit Lions offense, and I think they got

(29:29):
better after that game. But what the difference was was
Aaron Rodgers had what two three red zone turnovers. That's
not going to happen again. This offense has gotten better.
They rely a lot more on A J. Dylan, Aaron Jones,
and the fact that they have this weapon in Christian Watson,
and even if not Al Lazar playing well, Romeo Dobbs
playing well. It's just this green Bay's offense has found
itself after being really lost in the first half of

(29:50):
the season. I like green Bay to win this game,
A lot of it has to come down to their past.
Defense is actually really good. That's the one thing Detroit
does very well. They are a number five past d
v o A offense, but they ranked fifteenth in rush
d v o A. The Packer we know how to
beat them, right, Run the ball, run the ball, run
the ball. I'm not saying Detroit, camp but Detroit wants
to pass. Detroit has all those great playmakers on the outside.

(30:12):
I don't know if they can get it done. I
like green Bay a lot in this game. I think
they figured things out in a way that is reminiscent
of I'm not going to say they're as good as
those number one seeds they were in the last few seasons,
but that's the team that they look closer towards than
what they were in the first half of the season.
So give me green Bay here, even laying over a
field goal, I'm gonna take that good. I don't want
to be on the same side as you on this one, Detroit.

(30:35):
You know I've been on on their side since the
beginning of this season. Hard knocks put that out. I
don't even want to discuss that. Dan Campbell has me
believing Jared Goff comeback player of the Year prospects. Still,
if they make the playoffs, he's getting my vote. That
is a big if. But it all starts Sunday night.
Give me the Lions on the road in lamb boat,

(30:58):
and finally, put the games to the side, put the
player props from our perspective to this side. We're going
to the Guru himself, the o g when it comes
to the final week of NFL regular season player contract
incentives and how we're gonna cash out. All right, the
man himself, Jared Smith. You can find him Fox Sports

(31:20):
Radio and pixwise dot com. Jared Lee Smith on Socialist Jared,
we're calling you a phone of friend right here, Like
who wants to be a millionaire? My friend? Yeah, this
is one you're gonna want. So this is gonna be
my biggest bet of the season. I think in the NFL,
Evan Ingram over forty. I think it's forty five and

(31:40):
a half. It really doesn't matter receiving yards. His number
that he needs is sixty one. And I'm hearing a
lot of Dave Jones Christian Kirk this week. You know,
first of all, a lot of these props are public
now and a lot of people are writing about them,
and that's fine, you know, imitation into the most sincereful
of flattery, right, But I think Ingram I haven't seen
much about Englim. And the reason why I think Ingram

(32:02):
the most valuable is the as his contract is expiring,
And why that's important is Jones and Kirk they can
kind of make deals with their agents. Hey, if we
don't reach our deals, we don't reach our incentives, they
can roll that over into a workout bonus and offseason
bonus of roster bonus in the summer. Whereas Ingram's contract
is expiring, there is a lot more urgency um with
him to reach this, you know bonus. He's already made

(32:24):
about six hundred thousand with other incentive bonuses this year.
But the cherry on top of this this of all
the Chackwarks, he just game desperately. Second of all, he
just went off for like a hundred and fifty yards
to get Titans four weeks ago, and Tennessee's defense allows
the most targets and second most yards of the game
is height ends this year. So Evan Ingram forty five
and a half receiving yards. I think it's gonna be
a five unifestimate. I honestly do. That's what I'm talking about.

(32:45):
The phone of Friend to the great Jared Smith, the Guru,
the o g himself. Now, Jared, you're gonna have a
full ride of coming up here on Friday. We're putting
this podcast out on Thursday tomorrow. You're gonna be able
to get this full ride up over at pix wise
dot com. Correct, Yeah, I need. It will be later tonight,
but a lot of the numbers won't be available until Friday.

(33:05):
So what I'll do is I'll write up the story
and I'll give you the guys, and then I'll just
add in the prompts with day to come of the albo.
Some of the guys are available now, but some of
them aren't. So it's a tricky it's a tricky week
because you know, different books released the problem numbers at
different times. But we'll put the information out there and
it's completely free on fixed webs dot com and a
lot of the other people have a lot of the
similar guys that I do. So I'm not gonna make

(33:26):
it like it's, you know, this like exclusive thing, but
I haven't seen a lot of people write about Evan
Ingland this week, so that's kind of one that I
think is a hid jam for the week. Correct. A
matter of fact, in my research in the last two days,
I have not seen Evan Ingram mentioned once. I know.
J J said he has. I have not so nice
work by you. Jared can't thank you enough making your
Brace for Winning's debut. I gotta get you out a

(33:47):
little bit longer though, Okay over the playoffs? Is that possible? Sir?
You got Sean, you know, but you call me, I'll
be there, mo, man, Jared can't thank you enough, sir.
Good luck on your plays. Go Evaning, go Jags. Let's
go there, he is. I can't say the same for you.
What do you mean he called me? I don't oh man,
that's there it is. We went to the man himself.

(34:10):
Good luck everybody on all of those plays. All right,
and finally, let's put a bow. In this episode of
Brace four Winnings, j J and Sean Brace wait to
hear we wrapp things up with chart guards. Yes, where
we go ahead and give you all of our plays
from the podcast ready to go for your consumption so
you can get on over the Draft Kings sports book
and use promo code Winnings. Let them know that you're

(34:31):
listening to us right here. Let's cash in and take
some of that DK money. What do you say here?
J j First up for me. Game one, going with
the Raiders to open up the NFL Week eight teen card.
I'm taking the nine and a half at home. Game
to go, Jags go at night minus the six. I
like them to roll against the Titans. Game three, Dolphins
at home against the j e t s Jets, Jets, Jets,

(34:54):
let's put an end to that five game losing streak.
Dolphins find a way to win a game. They're catching
a point and a half at home. Game four Giants.
It's a tough one to swallow, but four team points
is just too many points for the Philadelphia Eagles to
give anybody at this point in time. Give me the
Giants half. Excuse me, give me the dream catching four team.

(35:14):
On Sunday, fifth and final game for me here, the
Detroit Lions go on the road and shocked the Green
Bay Packers Sunday night in prime time action. They're catching
four and a half. I like him all right? How
about that sixth and final play. Here is the player
prop exclusive courtesy of our great friend Jared Lee Smith
on socialist Jared Smith. You can catch him over at

(35:35):
pixwise dot com and hear him every Saturday morning on
Fox Sports Radio. Evan Ingram tight end for the Jacksonville
Jacks number on Drafting Sports Book forty five and a half,
it's at minus one. Fifth team. We go ahead and
we hammered down on that one. Shoutout at McPhee there.
But bottom line is with the contract incentive and oh,
by the way, he's a pretty good option. And the
Jacksonville Jacks are throwing the football effectively as of like

(35:58):
Titans defense is terrible. I think that is a win win,
win win me and all we do is win. We
win the matter what six and oh let's go j J.
You going with a lot of the favorites in these
meaning full games. Kansas City Chiefs and laying the nine points,
Batch Maholmes trying to go for a record, Kansas City
Chiefs trying to get that number one seed. I think
they do so laying the nine points. I will take that.

(36:18):
Jacksonville just a much better team the Tennessee at this point.
Why is the number six and a half. It seems
pretty high, but it's Josh Jobbs backup quarterback. Jaguars defense
the last two weeks. Yes against Zack Wilson, yes against
Stevens Mills, but playing like a top two three defense
over the past two weeks. I think they continue that
of lay these six half. Give me the New York
Jets laying one and a half against the Miami Dolphins.

(36:38):
Skylar Thompson starting. I like the guy coming out of
Kansas State, but seems like he needs a lot more
time in the NFL. Just not good enough to be
a starter. Give me the Jets laying the one and
a half year the one underdog. I will take the
New York Giants just to plus four team points. I
want to take This game should be pretty easy for
the Eagles, but that's still Giants are gonna have to
play some players. Fourteen points just seems like a lot

(36:59):
of the Eagles. They're gonna want to take things easy
as well. They want to win the game, yes, but
also they want to stay healthy. Have a lot of injuries.
Even if Jalen Hurts does play, still have a lot
of injuries coming into this game. I imagine they just
want to get healthy, get out of there, get the
number one seat. So I'll take the Detroit Lions getting
the plus four team. I'm gonna lay the four and
a half with the green Bay Packers. The Detroit Lions
look good, a lot of improvements on the offensive end,

(37:20):
but Packers defense look pretty good against them last time,
only allowing fifteen points. But also their past defense is exceptional.
It's one of the best parts of the green Bay
Packers defense. Rush rush defense, uh does leave a little
bit to be desired, but Detroit likes to pass. I
want to get their ray playmakers in the outside involved.
I don't think they'll do, so give me green Bay
length four and a half and my bonus. I think

(37:41):
Washington keeps it close against the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas, I
know they're fighting for something, they're fighting for the NFC East,
but Cowboys on the road just aren't the same football team.
And Washington, I don't know if they're getting it right
and starting Sam how That is obviously going to be
the biggest variable in this game. But it's a lot
better than whatever the heck Carson Wentz was doing. Give
me plus seven with Washington. You and I agree on

(38:02):
that one. Yep, exactly how I was seeing that game
play at as well. A lot to play for though
in a lot of these games going down to this weekend.
No matter what, good luck can all your players everyone,
