Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome into episode one, one hundred and two of Bring
Heaven Down. My name is tim and I'm the host
of this daily devotional podcast that shows up in your
feed Monday through Friday. If this is your first time
or your one hundred and second time, hit that follow
button wherever you are listening, so this podcast shows up
(00:24):
in your feed Monday through Friday. We are currently in
a Philippian series. Yesterday we talked about the assassination of
Charlie Kirk, and today we are going to talk about
(00:46):
something similar. Because I love the Philippians Chapter three study,
but sometimes I've got to deviate and focus on some
worldly topics that are influencing Christians and non Christians. And
right now there's a lot of people living in fear
(01:08):
for what could potentially happen next. It would only appear
that the political violence threats is only getting worse. It
would appear that things like peace is getting further and
(01:32):
further away. And the truth is is that it's only
going to continue to get worse. And it's easy to
explain why these things are happening. And one Timothy Chapter three,
verses twelve through thirteen, it says, in fact, everyone who
(01:56):
wants to live a godly life in Christ, Jesus will
be persecuted, while evil doers and impostors will go from
bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. And that's what
we're seeing. We are seeing evil doers going from bad
(02:21):
to worse, deceiving and being deceived. Ephesians Chapter six, verses
twelve also explains what's happening to our world, for our
struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world,
(02:46):
against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
There is a spiritual battle taking place in our world,
and some people recognize it for what it is and
(03:08):
some people don't, and that creates a lot of fear
because there's a lot of unknown with what's going to
happen next. Is someone going to get assassinated again, Is
someone from the left going to carry out another plot
(03:35):
to attack someone else? And what you so often see
from both sides. Many people are not living in fear
of Jesus because that's who we should fear, and is
(03:58):
a good fear. It's not like a fear of running
away from Jesus. It's a fear out of respect, it's
a fear of reverence. And where my heart goes this
morning is to a verse in Romans, and it says
this Romans eight twenty eight. And this is the hope
(04:21):
we have, it says, and we know that in all things,
all things, God works for the good of those who
love Him, who have been called according to his purpose.
And we know that in all things God works for
(04:42):
the good of those who love Him, who have been
called according to his purpose. Yeah, what about Charlie Kirk though, Well,
we can hold on to the promises of God and
that he is is going to use this situation to
(05:03):
work all things for the good of those who love him.
And right now there's just a lot of uneasiness and
fear and emotion. But as followers of Jesus, we must
(05:24):
understand the truth of Jesus and that he is in control.
He will work for the good of those who love him.
And when you see the next threat or are in
(05:48):
fear because of what could happen next, or a protest,
or whatever the case may be, we must always remember
Romans eight twenty eight, because that is the truth of
God's word. Thanks for joining the show today, and I
hope the Holy Spirit reveals more and more about our
(06:10):
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And I hope the Holy
Spirit gives you a peace through this situation that surpasses
all understanding
