Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome into episode when one hundred and five of Bring
Heaven Down.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
I'm talking a little quieter today. My son is sleeping upstairs,
and my daughter is resting and reading books in her room,
so I don't want to disturb their peace and affect
this podcast. But anyways, I can talk a little bit
more normal than that. We are on Philippians chapter three,
(00:27):
and we're finishing up Philippians chapter three today, and we're
focusing in on verse twenty. But let me read verse
nineteen as it kind of continues the same conversation. Verse
nineteen says their destiny is destruction, Their God is their stomach,
and their glory is and their shame. Their mind is
(00:48):
on earthly things. Now we pick up in verse twenty,
and this is comparing followers of Jesus to people that
are enemies of the christ Us. So now we're diving
into people that are followers of Jesus verse twenty. But
our citizenship is in heaven and we eagerly await a
(01:13):
savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who by the
power that enables him to bring everything under his control,
will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be
like his glorious body. Our citizenship. Think about that word citizenship.
(01:37):
That word means our final resting place, our forever home.
Our forever home isn't our current address or our next address.
Our forever home is in heaven, and.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
We eagerly await a savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.
And then it finishes up saying, who, by the power
that enables him to bring everything under his control, will
transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like
his glorious body. Isn't that amazing to think about our bodies,
(02:20):
These sinful bodies that we currently live in, are stuck
in Our sinful bodies that are filled with disgusting thoughts,
are filled with sin, will one day be transformed into
(02:43):
a body like his glorious body. And there is no
greater hope than this. Jesus will transform our body as
followers of Jesus, and we will one day have glorious bodies.
My study notes say this, our lowly bodies that are
(03:06):
subject to weakness, decay, and death due to sin. Exactly,
we are subject to all of these honestly scary things
and intimidating things because of sin, and by the power
(03:31):
of Jesus we will one day have glorious bodies. Thank
you for choosing Jesus today, and I hope the Holy
Spirit revealed more and more about our Lord and Savior
of Jesus grace. And I hope you all have wonderful
days filled with the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
