Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome into episode one hundred and fifteen of Bring Heaven Down.
If this is your first time listening or your one
hundred and fifteenth time listening, make sure you hit that
follow button wherever you're listening to this podcast so this
podcast will show up in your feed Monday through Friday.
Thank you for choosing Jesus today. If you have a
(00:22):
question a testimony, we would love for you to share
that and contribute to the podcast. But today we finish
up in Psalms chapter twenty three, focusing on verse six.
If you haven't heard the discussion on Psalms verses one
(00:45):
through five, you can go back and listen to those
by going in the podcast feed and checking those out.
But here's what verse six says. It says, surely goodness
and love will follow me all the days of my
life life, and I will dwell in the house of
the Lord forever. And when I think about what goodness
(01:08):
and love is, goodness and love is a characteristic of God.
And what this verse is describing and how we can
apply it to our own lives is Yes, we will
hit hardships and we will suffer, there will be trials,
(01:30):
but we can know for certain that goodness and love
will follow us all the days of my life as
long as we are in relationship with Jesus. And how
hopeful is that to know, even on your toughest days,
(01:52):
your worst days, and even on your best days, when
you think that you have it all figured out, goodness
and love is following you because of God. And then
it says, and I will dwell in the House of
the Lord forever. Forever is one of those words that
(02:18):
is really tough to grasp because we see that word
forever and it's completely different than anything else we've ever
lived by because we live in a time sensitive world. Well,
in a week, I've got to do this. In a month,
I'm doing that. Tomorrow, I'm doing this. I've got an
(02:38):
eight hour work day, and then I'll be back home
next year I turn thirty five. When we are in
the House of the Lord, time is nonexistent, which is
mind blowing. Like we use the word forever so loosely
(02:58):
in culture. Oh yeah, this day is gonna last forever,
when in reality it feels like it lasts forever, but
it only last eight hours or whatever it is. Heaven
is forever. Dwelling in the House of the Lord is forever,
which is great news, but it's also, I mean, honestly,
(03:20):
a little intimidating. It's like forever, like it's never gonna stop,
and once we get there, we're never gonna want it
to end, which is cool. That the one thing that
lasts forever in our world, and we typically use forever
(03:41):
so loosely, and we typically describe forever as bad, the
one thing that lasts forever that we will eventually experience
is heaven. Our lives aren't gonna last forever, the days
aren't gonna last forever. But the one thing that will
last forever that is great that we will want to
last forever, is heaven, and that's very good news. I
(04:02):
hope this was encouraging for you today, and I highly
encourage you to read Psalm twenty three because I guarantee
it will encourage you. Thank you for choosing Jesus, and
I hope you all have a wonderful day filled with
the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
