And if you have a question, a comment, a disagreement,
(00:21):
a topic question, I would love to see those. Bring
Heaven Down number seven at gmail dot com. Bring Heaven
Down number seven at gmail dot com. Today, I want
to kind of continue what I was discussing yesterday, but
in a little bit of a different realm, and I
(00:44):
want to ask a very basic question. And the question
that I want to ask is where do you belong?
Where do you belong? And the context behind the question
(01:04):
is what church do you belong to? What church? Are you?
An active participant? In Hebrews, Chapter ten, verses twenty four
through twenty five says this, and let us consider how
we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,
(01:27):
not giving up meeting together as some are in the
habit of doing, but encouraging one another, and all the
more as you see the day approaching. First, let me
make something very clear. If you are a regular attendee
(01:47):
of church every single week, of the year. Don't miss
a Saturday or Sunday or Mass, or whatever the case
may be. Church itself does not save you. The good
deed of going to church is not a saving act, okay.
(02:12):
But what church does do is that it grows your
relationship with Jesus and you become spiritually stronger. So it
is very important. If someone told me that they're a
(02:33):
follower of Jesus, that's great, But if they told me
that they don't go to church regularly they just stay
at home reading their Bible. Also great to read your Bible,
but you're missing a big key aspect of spiritual growth
(02:58):
if you are not regular attending church on Sunday. And
it's not only about the sermon. It's about meeting together
with the fellow followers of Jesus and encouraging one another
and building each other up to go back out into
the world and be the light to others that God
(03:24):
calls us to be. Watching church online is better than nothing,
but going to church in person is better than watching online.
Watching church online does not present the same opportunity and
impact as going in person does, and personally, one of
(03:48):
my favorite things about attending church on a Sunday morning
is seeing all the people worshiping and believing the same
thing that I do. I'm a very sinful person, and
sometimes I get doubts in my head, like do I
(04:11):
really believe this? I think I do. I do my
best to make sure my life reflects what I believe.
And what encourages me is seeing hundreds of other people
in the same room that believe the same thing that
(04:34):
I believe, worshiping, raising your hands, some in tears, including me.
So I just don't want you to miss out because
if you've decided that church is not for you, well,
(04:57):
I would love for you to reconsider. If you have
decided that watching online is more convenient, I think it
would be best for you to reconsider, and you should
really pray about that, because you are missing fellowship and
(05:19):
a strong connection with followers of Jesus that will encourage
you and build you up if you don't attend church regularly.
And what you should want is, let's say you have
to miss a church service. You should want someone to
(05:43):
realize that you miss that church service, see you the
following week and ask, hey, I missed you last week,
because then that means you have a strong connection with
a group of believers that knew you weren't there. You
(06:05):
want someone to know you weren't there, because then that
means you're an active participant not only in the church,
but you are actively pursuing Jesus and doing your best
to grow your relationship with him. So let me ask
(06:25):
one more time, where do you belong? Thank you for
choosing Jesus today, and I hope the Holy Spirit revealed
more and more about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
And I hope you all have a wonderful day of
filled by the Holy Spirit.
