Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome into episode number twenty of Bring Heaven Down. My
name is Tim and I'm the host of this daily

podcast will show up into your feed Monday through Friday. Today,
(00:24):
I want to talk about the importance of peace and
where peace comes from, because what the world says about
acquiring peace is very different than what the Bible says
about acquiring peace. So that's the topic for today. Hold
(00:47):
on tight to that steering roll in a comfortable position,
grab your favorite drink or a cup of coffee, and
let's bring Heaven a little closer together. The way that
I think the world tries to convince you that peace
(01:12):
comes from it is through things. You need to buy
this car and then you will be happy and you
will have peace. You are just missing this gadget or
this piece of furniture and then you will have peace.
Get more money in your bank account, and then you
(01:35):
will receive peace. But the truth of the matter is
this peace is all about having the presence of God
in our lives. Peace is not the absence of challenges,
because challenges are going to be the regardless of how
(01:58):
much money you have in your bank account, of what
kind of car you have, of what kind of job
that you have. Even as much as the world tries
to convince you that's where peace comes from, challenges will
be there regardless. Peace is all about having the presence
(02:19):
of God in your life. Peace is about drawing closer
and nearer to God, cultivating a relationship with God, surrendering
and submitting to God. It's about carrying God with you
from place to place. It's about carrying God with you
(02:40):
to your job, to your work life, to your family,
to everything and every situation. I think we all struggle
with this from time to time. I know I have,
because not being convinced by what the world's peace is
is very difficult because it's being thrown at us every
(03:03):
single day. And I remember a time that I really
struggled with this. When I was younger and I was
living in Washington, d C. I was obsessed with how
much money I could add to my bank account because
I thought the more money, the more peace, the more
things that I could afford. A rent was crazy high
in Washington DC at like fifteen hundred dollars a month.
(03:24):
So the more money I had, the more peace I
would have with paying off rent and all of that stuff.
So I worked eighty hours a week between my job
at Serious XM at the time and my job at
Jimmy John's. It's the way that I paid for things
and I could get more money in my bank account.
And when that check hit the direct deposit man, did
(03:45):
I have peace? Was I joyful? Did it feel good
to see that bank account rise? But here's the problem.
That piece lasted for about three seconds until I was
stressed again and worried again about my next paycheck, about
(04:09):
paying rent again. And what changed, what caused my anxiousness
and worry in my mind to change about money was
the presence of God was going to church and giving
my money, which is exactly the opposite of what the
(04:33):
world would tell you to do. The World's about harvesting
and holding on to and making sure you have enough
and make sure you have the right thing. Well, the
presence of God combats that and says, give me your money,
(04:54):
be generous with your money, help others with your money.
And when I did that, the stress and anxiety of
not having enough went out the window because then I
was not holding onto my money so tightly, because in reality,
(05:19):
my money was God's. What I have is all Gods
and I need to use it to benefit the kingdom.
So that's just an example of how the peace that
we want and crave comes from God comes from drawing
(05:40):
closer and nearer to God, not from the world. So
every day we're gonna face challenges, different challenges, and the
key to facing those challenges is carrying God with you
into those challenges because that's where He comes from. How
(06:02):
can any of us have peace when we're going through
one of the toughest challenges of our life. Well, we
don't get that through a car, or a job, or
even a family friend. We get that by carrying the
presence of God with us through life, through all the
(06:24):
challenges that we face. Thank you for choosing Jesus today,
