Bring Heaven Down the number seven at Gmail, because I
want this podcast to include questions that you have, topics
that you have that you would like addressed. The topic
(01:08):
today that I want to discuss is the greatest gift
we have ever received, because I've been convicted about this
for a few years when I really think about it,
because I'm as guilty as anyone. How many people know
(01:31):
about the greatest gift that I have ever received in
my entire life. That's the question that we're going to
tackle today. So hold on tight to the steering wheel,
grab your favorite drink or a cup of coffee, and
let's bring Heaven a little closer together. My mind goes
(02:01):
back to high school when I was seventeen years old,
because my first car was a red Mini Van classic
Rundown car from my parents, and I was grateful for it.
I wasn't complaining. It was a car got me from
point A to point B, and that's the entire point
of a car. I don't care if I'm driving the
(02:22):
nicest car in the world or the crappiest car in
the world. As long as it gets me from point
A to point B. That's all I care about. In fact,
I even remember a long time ago, I was hanging
out with some friends and there's a super nice car
that went past, definitely a car over one hundred thousand dollars,
and I remember saying something and the windows were closed
(02:45):
and I had no issue with it. The person could
hear me. I remember saying, my two thousand dollars car
can get me from where I need to go to
where I need to be, just like you're one hundred
thousand dollar car can get you from where you need
to be to where you need to be. Something along
those lines, anyway. And I remember when I got my
(03:07):
first car that I invested in and had to spend
money on. It was a Pontiac Grand Dam And when
I got this car, I remember telling all my friends,
texting them, driving in the houses, showing people my new car.
I remember picking people up and giving people rides. I
remember how excited I was talking about my new car,
(03:30):
and I'm sure I'll be that way when we buy
another car. He got a new car. It's pretty cool.
Check out the inside. Look at this. So people knew
about that gift because I was proud of it and
I was excited about it. But it was not my
greatest gift. The greatest gift that I've ever received is
Jesus Christ dying on the cross, taking my sin and
(03:56):
making a pathway for my soul to enter the Kingdom
of heaven. How many people know about that gift? After
Christmas Day, after your birthdays? It text your friends, you
(04:17):
text your buddies. Oh, I got this new boat. I
got this new car. I'm going fishing, We're going to
the big game. We'd like to prop ourselves up and
talk about these material gifts that eventually expire. But why
(04:38):
don't we talk about the gift of Jesus more often?
Because that is the greatest gift we have ever received.
What is it about us that gets scared to talk
about Jesus publicly to other people? Well? What are they
(05:01):
going to think of us? What are they going to
think of us that we know Jesus? Why does it matter? Why?
And I'm just as guilty as everybody. I'm talking about myself.
Why do I place fear in the wrong place? Ephijians,
Chapter two, verses eight through nine. For by grace you
(05:24):
have been saved through faith, and this is not by
your own doing. It is the gift of God, not
a result of works, So that no one may boast
that is the greatest gift John three point sixteen. For
God so loved the world that he gave his only son,
that whoever believes in him should not perish but have
(05:48):
eternal life. We are talking about eternal stakes. We're not
talking about a week, two weeks, three weeks. We're not
talking come about a ten to twenty year lifespan of
a car. The good news that we know of Jesus
(06:08):
being our Lord and savior and the King. The good
news that we know, literally what's at stake is eternal
for souls, either in heaven or hell. And I don't
(06:31):
think we can fully wrap our mind around what it
means to be eternal because you think about it and
it's like on Earth, our lives are so based on
a specific period of time. Oh, in a month, we're
going here, and a month we're coming back. Two weeks
I got this interview. Next year, we're having a kid.
(06:52):
We're gonna buy a house in five years, and then
we're gonna sell it. By this everything's based on time.
And it's one of the most mind blowing things to
me because when we die, time is practically nonexistent. You're
either in heaven forever or you're in Hell forever. There
(07:14):
is no in between. So the good news that we know,
the greatest gift that we have ever received, that I
am guilty of keeping too close to my chest, has
literal souls on the line, eternally in heaven or health.
That's what's at stake. So my challenge to me and
(07:36):
my challenge to you is to make your greatest gift
more known, as if you just bought a new car,
as if you just bought a new boat, or you
got a new job. Make our greatest gift more known,
because eternity is at stake, and I don't want to
(08:04):
be in heaven one day or on my deathbed one
day thinking about what if I told that guy about Jesus,
What if I told that girl about Jesus. Why was
I not more bold? Why was I scared of something
that doesn't matter? So my challenge to us is to
(08:29):
make our greatest gift more known. Thank you for choosing
Jesus today, Please rate review the show, and thank you
for going on this journey with me, where our goal
is that the Holy Spirit will reveal more and more
about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
