My name is Tim and I'm the host of this
daily devotional podcast. While you're here, wherever you're listening, hit
that follow button so this podcast will show up in
to your feed Monday through Friday. And if you're willing
rate and review the show, so we can bring Jesus
(00:21):
two more living rooms, two more vehicles, or wherever people
listen to podcasts. So yesterday I shared my testimony and
I challenged you if you are willing to share your
testimony with me, and you can do that by emailing
(00:42):
the show Bring Heaven Down number seven at gmail dot com.
Bring Heaven Down number seven at gmail dot com. It
doesn't need to be three pages long, as it can
be a simple paragraph. And what's so cool about my
(01:03):
challenge to you is that so far we've already got responses.
I received multiple emails already with testimonies on how Jesus
has impacted their life. So if you didn't want to
be the first one, you don't have to worry about
it because I've already received testimonies from others. So now's
(01:28):
the time to jump in. I want to challenge you
this morning if you are willing to share your testimony,
please email the show Bring Heaven Down number seven at
gmail dot com. Because there is nothing more powerful than
a Christian testimony on how Jesus changed your life impacted
(01:52):
your life. And here's the deal, there is no bad testimony.
Some people, I think feel guilty because they don't have
the story. And the story I'm referring to is uh
I was a crack addict or I was a pothead,
(02:13):
and I was so far from Jesus. I had no idea.
I was rock bottom and then Jesus found me and
I became saved. That's the story that a lot of
people think are the most powerful testimonies because it's very dramatic.
(02:37):
But here's the truth. There is not a single non
powerful testimony because Jesus changing your life is equally as
powerful for everybody. And here's also the truth. Somebody listening
(03:01):
right now could use your testimony because sure, the drug addict,
alcoholic so far from Jesus story that relates to someone
and that is powerful for everybody. But also the person
that's gone to church their entire life and then became
(03:26):
a follower of Jesus in their twenties or made their
faith their own in their twenties or teen major years
is just as powerful and relatable to someone else. So
I want you to think about it. Maybe you feel
convicted from the Holy Spirit to do it right now
(03:46):
or tonight or whenever. Email the show Bring Heaven Down
Number seven at gmail dot com. Because these testimonies are powerful.
That's why I'm pushing for them. I don't need to
share your name unless you ask me to. I will
keep it private. Bring Heaven Down Number seven at gmail
(04:08):
dot com. Do you have your favorite drink or a
cup of coffee and let's bring Heaven a little closer together.
The first testimony I received comes from someone named Angela.
(04:33):
She gave me approval and she said she is okay
with me using her first name. And this is a
great testimony, as they all are. It says, good morning, Tim.
I love listening to your podcast. He always give me
things to think about that I can easily incorporate into
my daily life to bring me closer to God. Thank
(04:55):
you so much, and that's the goal of this podcast.
So I appreciate Angela and all of you for listening.
My goal and my prayer is that we all draw
closer to God, and here's what she wrote. At the
end of today's podcast, you asked if we felt led
to share, to email you and let us know how
(05:16):
God has worked in our life for the better. About
a year ago, I started getting harasped by a former
friend who was a mother of my son's best friend
back in elementary school. She was jealous of our family's
life compared to hers and was miserable and needed someone
to lash out at. We tried to help her family, However,
(05:40):
it didn't work within their family were problems in their marriage,
drug and alcohol abuse, and mental health issues. We parted
ways as it was not healthy to be around. We
moved to Texas and a few years later she started
harassing me through Facebook, messenger, text message, email, and then
started calling in her This went on for months and months.
(06:03):
I never responded back, yet was trying to figure out
how to stop the harassment. I reached out to attorneys,
police officers, etc. I was trying to handle this on
my own the best way I knew. How However, I
left the most important person out, Jesus. One afternoon she
(06:24):
called to harass me again. It was an unknown number,
and this time I felt compelled to pick it up.
VERSU let it go to voicemail as I had a
feeling it was going to be her again. I said hello,
and she started spewing venom at me. I was silent
and listened as she disguised her voice and pretended to
be another person, asking me questions like do you know
(06:45):
where your husband's at right now? Do you know what
he's doing right now? I finally said her name, and
what came out of my mouth next was a surprise. However,
now I know it was the Holy Spirit. I said, yes,
I just want you to know that we are praying
for you. After I said those words, the most vile
(07:07):
and horrendous words and screaming came out of her mouth.
It was pure evil. It was terrifying. She then hung up.
I knew Jesus and we were Christians who went to church,
However I didn't have a personal relationship with Jesus. However,
after that day things changed. I sat there after she
(07:29):
hung up, and prayed for her like I told her
I would, and guess what. She never called back, texted, emailed,
or messaged me again. The harassment stopped as soon as
I told her we were praying for her. I know
it was God who put a stop to that evil
on that day. Sometimes I feel really guilty for knowing
(07:51):
God all those years, yet not actively seeing and having
a personal relationship with him. However, all that has changed
now and every day I get a little closer to
Him and love him more and more. He is all powerful,
all knowing, and loves not only me, not only you,
but every single living creature. Jesus wants you to come
(08:15):
to him with all your troubles as well as all
our blessings. Jesus loves you. Thank you so much for
all you do. Sincerely, Angela. I don't know who Angela is,
but Angela, thank you for being willing to be vulnerable
and share your testimony because I know for a fact
(08:36):
that this will encourage other believers and non believers and
will inspire others to have a personal relationship with Jesus.
And what's so interesting about Angela's testimony on how Jesus
(09:04):
changed her life is that she said in her testimony
that she did not have a personal relationship with Jesus. However,
after that day things changed. After the day when she
prayed for her former friend, and after the day when
(09:26):
the friend stopped calling, stopped rresting. It points me to
two things. One, it points me to the power of prayer.
This is the evidence for the power of prayer. I
think sometimes we think too much in our heads, and
I'm guilty of this too, Lord, are you really going
(09:49):
to do something? Do you really hear me? So sometimes
we share words or say words, but we also have
maybe and inkling of doubt with the words we say.
This is not only encouraging to you, but encouraging to
me to see just how much the power of prayer works,
(10:14):
to see how Jesus worked in Angela's life through prayer.
One more thing that I want to say about this
is what was happening to Angela was a terrible thing.
I hope nobody goes through what Angela had to go
(10:36):
through with her former friend who was harassing, texting, emailing,
because that's just awful. However, there really is an interesting
truth about this situation. Her former friend was evil, and
(10:59):
it was tough, and it was just a disgusting situation. However,
through her former friend, Angela admits that this situation forced
her to have a personal relationship with Jesus. So what
(11:23):
has happened in your life. That's terrible that has forced
you to have a personal relationship with Jesus. For me,
it was being rejected over and over and over again.
It was failing, it was hitting rock bottom. As an
independent person, I just could not do it anymore. I
needed Jesus at the center of my life. I needed
(11:46):
a personal relationship with Jesus. I could not borrow my parents'
faith anymore. And what led me to that decision was
hitting rock bottom. And a family friend of ours, who
(12:07):
is a very knowledgeable and educated Christian, loves this phrase,
and I think it's applicable. It says God allows what
he hates to accomplish what he loves. God allows what
he hates to accomplish what he loves. I think Angela's
(12:30):
testimony is a perfect example of that phrase. Because God
allowed Angela's former friend to harass He allowed this situation
to unfold for Jesus to ultimately work in Angela's life
(12:51):
for the better. And this is a great example of it.
Angela now has a personal relationship with Jesus because of
what God allowed into her life. Because God doesn't bring
evil upon people that comes from Satan, but he can
(13:15):
allow Satan to work in people's lives and it can
bring out situations like this from Angela in her final
few sentences. I know it was God who put a
stop to that evil on that day. Sometimes I feel
really guilty for knowing God all those years, yet not
(13:37):
actively seeing and having a personal relationship with him. However,
all that has changed now and every day I get
a little closer to Him and love him more and more.
He is all powerful, all knowing, and loves not only me,
not only you, but every single living creature. Jesus wants
you to come to him with all our troubles as
(13:59):
well as all all our blessings. Jesus loves you. I mean,
this is an amazing testimony, as they all are, and
she knows it was God that put us stop to
that evil on that day, and now ever since that day,
she has been actively pursuing a personal relationship with him.
(14:23):
God allowed what he hated and that's evil, to accomplish
what he loves, and that's bringing Angela closer to him.
If you want to share your testimony, first I want
to say thank you Angela for being vulnerable and sharing.
But if you want to share yours, we'll keep your
(14:45):
name private Angela gave me a permission to use her
first name. Email the show Bring Heaven Down number seven
at gmail dot com because your testimony will change lives.
Thank you for choosing Jesus today and I hope and
pray that this podcast brings you a little closer to
(15:08):
Jesus every day
