Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome into episode number sixty one of Bring Heaven Down.
My name is Tim and I'm the host of this
daily devotional podcast that shows up and You're for you
Monday through Friday. Make sure you hit that follow button
wherever you are listening to this show so that you
will get it and rate and review the show too,
if you're willing to do that. And the reason why
I ask for that is a rate and review gives

(00:24):
this show more exposure, which means this show can be
seen by more people, which means that we can bring
Jesus into more people's lives. And that's the goal of
this show. We want to bring Jesus into more people's lives,
whether they are a Christian that needs encouragement or if
they are a non Christian and they need to be

(00:46):
introduced to Jesus. All right, On today's show, I want
to talk about the awareness that we should have as
we navigate the things going on around us. So grab
your favorite drinker, a cup of coffee, and let's bring

(01:09):
Heaven a little closer together. The Bible is filled with
warnings about lots of different things. The Bible gives warnings
about what the end times will look like rumors of war,
But this will only be the beginning. These are the

(01:31):
birth paints. The Bible gives lots of warnings about money
and our love for money, and how we should handle
our money. And it also gives warnings about false teachers,
false prophets. It says this in Matthew chapter seven Versus fifteen,

(01:52):
watch out for false prophets. They come to you in
cheap's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. Their you
will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes or
figs from thistles. Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit,
but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree

(02:13):
cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear
good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit
is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by
their fruit you will recognize them. Not everyone who says
to me, Lord Lord, will enter the Kingdom of heaven,
but only the one who does the will of my father,
who is in heaven. Many will say to me on

(02:36):
that day, Lord Lord, did we not prophesy in your name,
and in your name drive out demons, and in your
name perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly,
I never knew you away from me, you evildoers. This
is one of the most intimidating verses in scripture because

(02:58):
in verse twenty one, it says, now everyone who says
to me, Lord Lord will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
And then on that day when they die, and they
think they should be in heaven because of the way
they acted and because of their belief, Jesus responds and says,
I never knew you away from me, you evildoers. That

(03:24):
verse in and of itself should humble every believer and
make them draw closer to Jesus and his teachings. And
what I mean by that is you should not look
at Jesus's teachings or the Bible and say I disagree

(03:49):
with this. It should say this, or this is what
it kind of says, but I'm gonna make it say this,
because what this scripture is telling telling us is that
we are to judge everything and hold it up against

(04:10):
God's word. God's word is true, it is mighty, it
is everlasting, it is constant and never changing. So the
application part of this when we are being surrounded by

(04:30):
teachers that claim different things and it sounds good it
doesn't matter what it is. We should always hold it
and test it against God's word because sometimes what happens
is we hear a teaching and we think, oh, that
sounds good, that seems like the Bible should say that.

(04:54):
But they might be taking the Bible out of context.
So we need to be aware of what they're s
saying and what they're teaching, because it might not be
true in God's work. They might be taking a verse
out of context. They might be taking a verse and
it actually says this, but they're making it say this.

(05:14):
And there's this new phenomenon and it really has been
this new phenomenon within the last few years, and it's
called deconstructing your faith. And deconstructing your faith is not

(05:35):
a way that God sees as true because the idea
behind deconstructing your faith is you grew up in this
faith that believed this about God, about God's teaching, and
it basically deconstructs God's teaching and makes it into what

(05:55):
you want it to be. God is love, but God
isn't only love. God is truth, and God is love.
The deconstruction phenomenon will say that God is love and
God is accepting. Yes, God is love. God is accepting

(06:15):
of those that turn away from their sin. God is love.
God is accepting of those that turn away from their sin.
But with that comes truth, and God combines the perfect
combination of love and truth. And God never approaches the

(06:36):
situation with only truth and with only love. He approaches
every single situation with the combination of it. So what
I want to encourage you to think about today is
make sure that you don't blindly believe a teaching from
a pastor from a close loved one, from a friend,

(07:01):
from someone that's been in ministry for forty to fifty years,
because everything needs to be tested against God's word and
what God's word says. Because of the different amount of
pressure and the amount of people spreading news and spreading

(07:25):
information that is inaccurate. Right now, in America and I'm
sure in other places as well, we live in the
inaccuracy phenomenon. Because I joke about this, but it's true.
You could prove anything that you want to prove by

(07:46):
a study, by a case study, by anything. You can
prove anything right now because there are so many different
things out there that you can find if you want
to be proven right You could search anything in the
Bible and be like, oh, I want the Bible to

(08:08):
say this, and there will be someone out there that
will claim that the Bible approves of this when it
clearly does not, and you can take that into any category. Politics,
vaccines anything. Right now, we live in a country and

(08:29):
in an era where anything you want can just be confirmed.
Anything you want to be true can be validated. But
that's why we need to test everything against God's word.
Thank you for choosing Jesus today and I hope the
Holy Spirit revealed more and more about our Lord and
Savior of Jesus. I hope you all have a great day.
