(00:47):
with testimonies and questions from listeners, but we are diving
back into Exodus chapter three to discuss Moses and the
Burning Bush, continuing that series this morning. So grab your
favorite drinker, a cup of coffee, and let's bring Heaven
a little closer together. We've talked about the first seven

(01:16):
verses in Exodus chapter three, and today we're going to
talk about verses eight through ten, But just to catch up,
I'll read verses one through ten here we go. Now,
Moses was tending the flock of Jethrow, his father in law,
the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to
the far side of the wilderness and came to Hareb,

(01:36):
the mountain of God. There the Angel of the Lord
appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush.
Moses saw that though the bush was on fire, it
did not burn up. So Moses thought, I will go
over and see this strange sight. Why the bush does
not burn up. When the Lord saw that he had

(01:58):
gone over to look, God called to him from within
the bush Moses Moses, and Moses said here I am,
do not come any closer. God said, take off your sandals,
for the place your standing is holy ground. Now I
talked about this these first five verses last week on

(02:22):
episode number sixty four titled Fearing God, if you want
to catch up in this series. Verse six, then he said,
I am the God of your Father, the God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. At
this Moses hid his has because he is afraid to
look at God. The Lord said, I have indeed seen

(02:42):
the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard
them crying out because of their slave drivers. And I
am concerned about their suffering. Now, if you want to
catch up with this one, I talked about this verses
six and seven in episode number sixty five titled God,
What Doesn't Forget? Now we're up to speed. It says

(03:05):
in verse eight, so I have come down to rescue
them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring
them up out of that land into a good and
spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey, the
home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Parizites, Hiddites, and Jubisites.
And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me,

(03:27):
and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them.
So now go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to
bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt. And that's
what we're gonna stop today verse ten. So to catch
up eight through ten, God is calling Moses to stand

(03:50):
up against Pharaoh, the king that has enslaved the Israelites
for four hundred years. He is calling Moses, who lived
as an Egyptian, to go to Egypt and lead God's people,

(04:10):
the Israelites, out of slavery definitely not an easy task,
which makes the application question very easy and simple. What
is God calling you to do right now at this
point in your life? Could God be calling you to

(04:38):
a new job. Could God be calling you to a
different role at work? Those are tough decisions, But what
might be even tougher, depending on circumstance, are questions like these.
Could God be calling you to leave certain frien Could

(05:03):
God be calling you to put aside certain friends that
are not good influences, that are not Godly people. That's
a big step of faith and a bold decision to say, Hey,
I can't be a friend anymore. I can't hang out

(05:25):
with this group anymore. That is tough. That is gonna
cause friction and conflict. But is God calling you to
put aside a group of friends? Could God be calling
you to forgiveness? Oh, that's another tough one. Could God
be calling on you to forgive somebody that hurts you

(05:49):
in the past. Because as much as forgiveness is for
the person that hurt you, forgiveness is just as much
for you yourself, so that you can let go of
those bitter feelings in your heart that cause stress and

(06:10):
anxiety and frustration. To be a bitter person because someone
hurt you in the past is not a prescription to
live a life of peace, but it is the exact opposite.
It is the prescription to live a life of bitterness.
And maybe you need to be encouraged to forgive someone,

(06:34):
and the best place to receive that encouragement is to
point to Jesus's words on the cross as he was
being nailed killed after he was crucified, Jesus's words on
the cross sounded like this, Father, forgive them, for they

(06:56):
know not what they do. In Romans, there's a that
sounds like this, for while we were still sinners, Christ
died for us. Our motivation for doing for others is
because of what Christ did for us. Forgiveness can be

(07:17):
a challenge, especially if someone really hurt you. But I
want to challenge you to release the frustration and bitterness
that is causing frustration in your life and forgive because yes,
someone hurt you and it was wrong for someone to

(07:39):
hurt you. If you hold on to that and don't
forgive them, they are still hurting you. They are still
impacting you. A moment of hurt has become years of bitterness.
So release it, forgive because it's as much for you
as it is thank for them. Where is God calling you?

(08:03):
Where is God calling you to step into or step
out of? God called Moses to free the Israelites that
have been enslaved for four hundred years? Where is God
calling you? Thank you for choosing Jesus today, and we'll
continue our series tomorrow unless I receive a listener question.

(08:24):
I hope the Holy Spirit revealed more and more about
our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
