(00:45):
This week we started our Armor of God series, so
that's what we're going to continue through the rest of
this week. Grab your books if you want to follow along.
We're in the Book of Ephesian chapter six, verses ten
through eighteen. Also, grab your favorite drink or a cup

(01:05):
of coffee, and let's bring Heaven a little closer together.
So let's start at verse ten again and today we
will be focusing on verses fourteen and fifteen in the
Ephijians chapter six. Finally, be strong in the Lord and

(01:27):
in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of
gods that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but
against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of
this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil
in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor

(01:50):
of God, so when the day of evil comes, you
may be able to stand your ground. And after you
have done everything to stand, stand for with the belt
of Truth buckled around your waiste, with the breastplate of
righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the
readiness that comes from the Gospel of Peace. So verse

(02:15):
fourteen stand firm, then, with the belt of truth buckled
around your waste, with the breastplate of righteousness in place.
Verse fourteen is talking about the righteousness of Christ, which
is inserted by God and received by faith, which guards
our hearts against the accusations and charges of Satan and

(02:40):
secures our innermost being from his attacks. Which means that
once we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior,
we receive the righteousness of Christ which is received by faith,

(03:00):
and this will guard our hearts against the accusations and charges.
So once you become a follower of Jesus, you then
have the righteousness of Christ because His Holy Spirit is
living in our hearts. And then Verse fifteen says, and
with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from

(03:24):
the Gospel of Peace. And I'm going to ask a
simple question, are you prepared to share the gospel with
someone that may need a reminder about God's love because
they are a follower of Jesus or might not know

(03:47):
Jesus at all. It's a very simple but intimidating question,
are you ready to share the gospel? Because we must
be prepared to share the gospel at all times, and
the Gospel is simple, nobody is perfect, and we all

(04:10):
need Jesus. We must be prepared to share the Gospel
at all times, which means we must know the gospel,
what it says, what it means, how it impacts our life,
and why someone that doesn't know Jesus should know Jesus.

(04:32):
And by ourselves we are not strong enough to share
the gospel. We need to rely on the power of
the Holy Spirit to share the Gospel in a way
that God wants us to share it because we are

(04:53):
naturally sinful, and if we try to rely on our
own individual power to show share the Gospel. What's going
to happen is we are going to think of all
the fears that could come with sharing the Gospel. Well,
what if they don't like me, what if they're a

(05:14):
self proclaimed atheist and they know they're going to respond,
and I'm not going to be able to respond correctly
to what they say. Our hearts and minds go to
the wrong place when we try to rely on our
own individual strength. We must submit and surrender to the

(05:36):
strength of the Holy Spirit and rely on the strength
that He provides. And I think this is the key
to sharing the Gospel as well. And I believe this
is a severe deterrent of non Christians submitting and being

(05:57):
interested in God. Yeah, from their perspective. And you can
have a conversation with a non Christian and get this
conclusion very quickly if you ask the right questions. They
are not interested in Christianity for a few reasons. One

(06:24):
of the reasons is they believe that Christians are hypocrites.
And two they believe that Christians hauled themselves up to
be better than everybody else one to the point of hypocrites.
I am a hypocrite. You are a hypocrite. Non Christians

(06:47):
are hypocrites. Everybody that has ever existed besides Jesus is
a hypocrite. And I'll explain very simply. Have you ever
told a lie? The answer is yes. Do you like
being lied to? The answer is know that's a hypocrite,
and Christians are hypocrites as well. I am a hypocrite.

(07:07):
I am a follower of Jesus and I am a
sinful person, which makes me a hypocrite. The difference is
that I follow of Jesus. I admit I'm a hypocrite,
and I need to cemit, surrender, and confess and repent,
all right. Number two, they act like they're better than
everybody else. That's the key. Christians cannot act like they're

(07:31):
better than everybody else because we are not better than
everybody else. I am personally not any better than a
non Christian. What separates me is that I have accepted
the love of Jesus. My personal decisions outside of loving

(07:54):
Jesus are just as sinful as a non Christian. But
the difference is I recognize my sin and say I
need Jesus. But it doesn't make me better. It makes
Jesus better. It makes Jesus great. So I challenge for

(08:15):
you today it's not to hold yourself up higher than
a non Christian, but to recognize that we're just as sinful.
The difference is we know Jesus and they don't. So
when you're sharing the gospel with somebody, one, you need
to be ready, You need to know how, and you

(08:36):
need to know the Gospel like the back of your hand.
And two, don't prop yourself up to be any better
than anybody else, because the truth is we're not. Jesus
came to save the sick, and we are sick. We
are filled with sin and we need a savior. So

(08:59):
just be aware of how you carry yourself around Christians
and non Christians because we are all lost and we
all needed to be found by Jesus. Thank you for
choosing Jesus today and help the hoist be revealed more
and more about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
