Speaker 1 (00:01):
About six to seven months ago, we did a segment
called Forgive and Forget, Oh, Yeah, which I'm sure a
lot of you forgot about. I actually forgave about it.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
You know you've forgotten forgot about it?

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Yeah, we forgive you for that. Anyway, you'll hear the
story coming up. And the interesting thing is, now over
half a year later, they've both reached out to us
saying they have a very important update.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Yay. I love it when people reach back out, Yes,
and they keep it's awesome.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Apparently things have changed from the last time they were
on the show, and they wanted all of us and
all of our listeners to know what's been going on
in their lives. You're gonna hear it in a first
ever Forgive and Forget update. What's coming up next? Welcome
back to Brook and Jeffrey in the morning. And today
we're trying a new segment on our show, something we've

(00:50):
never done before, called Forgive and Forget.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
It's kind of based on Brooke and myself because I
love to forgive you. Brook habitually forgets it usually at
least one, if not both, of the listeners' names, as
soon as they come onto the part.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
I can't see their faces. Maybe that's the issue. You
see everyone in our building their name, but I know yours.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
In all seriousness, we've come across some emails from listeners
people who've had run ins with their family or friends
and they don't know how to mend fences with them
properly where they would like to do it, they just
can't figure out how. So in the first part, yeah,
I mean these are metaphorical. Yeah, But in the first

(01:44):
part here we're gonna learn about the situation, and then
in the second part we'll see if we can help
and get the other person to forgive them or see
if they just want to forget about it and move on.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Okay, so we're talking to the person who's seeking forgiveness
right now.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Who is that. I'm gonna to say it really, really
loudly so that brook remembers it. Please Eric, say it
out loud three times, Brooks in mind Eric, Eric, Eric, Eric,
Welcome to the show.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Hey, thank you, thank you guys for having me Eric, a.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Name I'll never forget, famous last words.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Tell us about the situation that you're dealing with.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
So, uh, my friend Alyssa. Guys, who I'm calling about
we've been friends for like the last eight years. Okay,
we turned off his work buddies.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Okay, you're co workers first, yep.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Co workers, you know, never anything like romantic. We've just
been friends. But I got a different job about a
year or so ago, but we stayed friends. Like I'm
still local. We meet up at happy hours and stuff
faster work and.

Speaker 5 (02:51):
I don't know, I just I really love her, like I.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Love being around her. I love who she is the person,
like I just really got I've missed having her around.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Do you use the L word with each other in
like a friendly way?

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Yeah, I mean we've known each other for a long time,
and like we've seen each other through some really tough stuff.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
That's oh, I think that's great. I didn't even use
the L word with my own family.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
I use it with every good friend I have. Yeah,
I don't leave a phone call or anything.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
I use it with you. I love you, Jeff.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
This doesn't mean anything if you.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Tell it does It's such a beautiful I love it, Jeff,
I love you.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Microphone in front of me.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Doesn't have enough of this. I love it. I love it.
So what what's the problem?

Speaker 3 (03:33):
So I guess people started talking around our like friend
group that I had read some stuff about her latest boyfriend,
the guy that she had been dating.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Oh no, did you?

Speaker 3 (03:44):
I mean, look, I didn't love the dude. I mean
I didn't think he was a great guy.

Speaker 5 (03:49):
Oh god.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
And I'm probably I probably did say some things, okay,
but like, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
I just I don't think I thought it was that huge.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Of a deal. I just think that by the people
I was around kind of shared that opinion, and and
so I didn't feel bad saying it. And I guess
I don't know why I didn't think he was going
to get back to her.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Okay, Yeah, can we ask what types of things you
were secretly saying? Like what was the vibe of the
judgment against her boyfriend?

Speaker 3 (04:18):
I don't know. I just he seemed kind of lazy
to me, like he always either not working or like
between jobs, and I kind of felt like maybe he
was taking advantage of her, and there's always something weird
going on with him.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Are they still dating? Is Alyssa and that guy still dating?

Speaker 3 (04:35):
I don't even know. I have no idea. I haven't
heard from her in like a month.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Probably well she contact, Yeah, dang, No, I.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Mean it was devastating, and like I tried to reach
out to her a few times, tried to explain, but
I got nothing back. I mean, yeah, she's she totally
cut me off.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
I mean that feels like an overreaction. Why you react that,
that's a good point.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
We should tell her that, Brook, and we'll get her
on the phone. Goes, well, your emotions are all over
the place moment. What's her name, by the way, Brook,
That good job, Eric. We're off to a medium start
right now. And you know how forgive and forget works.

(05:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Are we just gonna forget about it and not do
the second segment?

Speaker 1 (05:25):
We literally forget? This is how it's gonna work. It's
kind of like a second date, but for friends. Okay,
we're gonna call Alissa and we'll run the conversation. We'll
find out her side of the story and then bring
him on the phone halfway through and let them talk
about it. Awfully, if she doesn't hang up as soon
as she finds out what's going on. But we're okay, good,

(05:48):
I do Okay, I'm glad we got she forgets. It's
really all right. We're gonna do this fun segment and
try to mend some fences with Forgive and Forget.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
Right after this, we are right in the middle of
a Forgive and Forget update. Oh my god, we're gonna
hear from these two friends and see what's happened since
this call.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Right after part two.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
It's Brook and Jeffrey in the morning, and we're in
the middle of a new segment that we're doing called
Forgive and Forget onlike a second date where we try
to re spark a romantic flame between people. In this
we try to get friends or family members back together
and on good terms after going through a weird situation.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
You are healing the planet, you guys. It feels good.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Okay, Let's not like sing our own praises before we
actually help anyone.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
We're spreading love, We're spreading forgiveness. This is the good stuff,
jeff You can.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Celebrate that, but we haven't actually accomplished anything. All we
know is that, Derek, I think coffee is just kicking it.
I think so. What we know though, is our listener,
Eric has been out of touch with his good friend
Alyssa for the last month or so because Alyssa found
out out he had been talking mess behind her back
about her new lazy, no job boyfriend.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
I have never heard that said that way before.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
It's how the young people speak today. But if you
got to catch that, that's how the future young people,
the babies are talking this way. You'll learn soon. But
Eric has tried to apologize to Alyssa in multiple ways,
and her response was to cut him out. Dang, that
is not even response. So he's sad he misses her
and wants our help to get back into her good graces.

(07:31):
We're hoping that she chooses to forgive him today.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Yeah, and you know, Eric, we didn't ask what is
her personality like?

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Like, is she fiery? Is she a pretty calm, gentle person?

Speaker 1 (07:42):
Yeah? Some her entire personality up in one word for us.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
That's a good question. I mean, honestly, I was so
surprised by the way she cut me off because that's
really not like her, Okay. I mean I've seen to
get worked up about stuff, but never at me, and
never about something like that.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Okay, so it's pretty out of the blue.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
I mean, even though you did something kind of crappy
as a friend, I mean, it wasn't enough to all right.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Guy, It wasn't malicious, So hopefully we can get her
to understand that. Let's give her a call and try
to get her to forgive you. Yeah, we forget, Well,
we're aiming for forgive. We need, we want to forgive.
Forget if the worst case.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
On the tagline give a move forward.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
I'mn dollar right now here we go. Hello, Hey, we're
looking for Alyssa.

Speaker 6 (08:36):
H This is she.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Hey, Alissa. We are a radio show called Brooke and
Jeffrey in the Morning. Okay, sorry to call you out
of the blue like this, but we're doing a segment
where we're gonna try to help mend some fences between
people who've hit a speed bump in their friendship.

Speaker 6 (08:56):
Well, I don't know why you called me.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Well, it's because one of your friends reached out to us.
His name is Eric.

Speaker 6 (09:04):
Oh my god, are you serious?

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (09:08):
I mean he feels terrible, Melissa, and he just misses
you as a friend.

Speaker 6 (09:13):
I'm sure he is.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
He sent us a really really nice email about it,
saying how much he loves you and how hard this
has been. I'm not going to say that he cries
himself to sleep every night into a tub of Ben
and Jerry's because he didn't say that, but that was
the mental image I had in my head.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
I bet he's a fan of fish food personally, so
it makes sense.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
So I don't want to make you feel guilty about it,
but you should know Eric is not taking this very well.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Well.

Speaker 6 (09:37):
I mean, I don't care that he's not taking this well.
I mean he hurt my feelings.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
Yeah, I mean it sounds like he was just venting
at a happy hour. I mean, not to like minimize it,
but are you saying like you've never talked crap about
one of the women that he's dated.

Speaker 6 (09:52):
I've told him to his face, I've never shot it
behind his back.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
But just think about how much our co host Alexis
vents at her happ hours about how much she doesn't
like her girlfriend's boyfriends.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
I would have one talking to me.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Ever, you would be making a hundred phone calls trying
to fetch all of her relationships all the time. I
don't think he was trying to be malicious with what
he said. He's just looking out for you.

Speaker 6 (10:17):
At the end of the day, he should still come
and talk to me about it.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Okay, Well, what if he talk to you about it
right now? Because he is on the other line at
this moment wanting to say things to you. I already
said about it.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
Oh yeah, fence men, I think it's messes anyway, ERICI there.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Yeah, talk to you.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Yeah, yeah, I'm here.

Speaker 6 (10:38):
I hil.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
I mean, I mean, I.

Speaker 6 (10:46):
Really don't want to talk to you, Eric, because I'm
still upset.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
I am genuinely really sorry that I did that. I mean,
I honestly, if I had known that it was going
to hurt you like this, I never would have.

Speaker 6 (10:58):
Been should have known you, should have known friends for
eight years.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Yeah, I know, And I feel really bad and you
were one hundred percent right, And I just I miss, Yeah,
I know, I am. I just I want to have
you back in my life again, and I want to
just know what I can do to earn your trust back.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
That is a good apology. That is a great good apology.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
And can I just say in his defense, I don't know.
I know people think they want to hear their friends
tell them the bad things about their relationships. I don't
think in practice that is a very good idea. Now,
you don't want your friends all coming up to you
being like, hey, by the way, we all think your
boyfriend sucks. And that's why I think it came from
a good place. Trying not to say it directly to you.

(11:40):
He was trying to support you from a distance.

Speaker 6 (11:43):
I didn't feel supportive.

Speaker 7 (11:44):
Yeah, I mean, there's still a kind way to like
tell me that maybe you don't really like my boyfriend.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Okay, so go ahead, Eric, kindly tell her that you
don't like her boyfriend. That's what she wants.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
Fine. I think he was lazy. I worried about him
not having a job or a clean job.

Speaker 6 (12:04):
He has multiple jobs. But like, at the end of
the day, I love this guy. Yeah, and that's what
you should care about if you're my friend.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Yeah, And I you know what I mean, I do,
I do. And like I said, I should have just
told you in person that I was worried about you,
and I didn't, and that was a mistake that I made.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
I mean, do you see what he's saying. Do you
think that he's lazy at all?

Speaker 6 (12:23):
No? I don't think that he's lazy.

Speaker 7 (12:26):
I mean he he is a smart, intelligent guy.

Speaker 6 (12:30):
Then he's working towards bigger things, okay, and he's not
a nine to five.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
I mean, another reason Eric can't go over and apologize.
He's always there.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
Yeah, oh man, that's hard.

Speaker 5 (12:40):
Eric.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
So Aless, the name of this segment is forgive or forget,
So we're at a point right now where we're just
going to ask can you forgive?

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Eric?

Speaker 1 (12:48):
He was very heartfelt in his apology.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
It was a good apology list, So you got to
give him that. I mean, he understands what he did wrong.
He loves you as a friend, and this is an
important relationship. Month is like years and close friends for
a decade.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Don't let this new guy get in between you.

Speaker 6 (13:04):
What do you say, Alyssa, I guess I can forgive you.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
It's rainbows and sunshine, DeMar, don't wear heroes, Eric.

Speaker 5 (13:19):
I mean that I'm I'm honestly, like legitimately relieved, and
I'm again, I'm really sorry, and I'm really happy that
I can earn your trust back a healthy way to.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Talk to fix.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
And you know, her boyfriend may like be the next
Bill Gates or.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
Something, and he'll totally prove you wrong, Eric, and you're
gonna be the one looking like an idiot in the edge.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Yeah, that seems like a totally likely thing. That's definitely gonna.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
Honestly, I would love that I would love if that happens.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Yea, he loves your boyfriend.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
You guys are cute.

Speaker 6 (13:53):
Eric. I do love and miss you too, and I
look forward to going out for a drink soon.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
There we go, Eric, Now let's confess all the things
that you don't like about her mom.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
I'm just kidding, Jeffrey in the morning.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
We've done updates on closure calls and second dates before,
but this is our first update on a forgive and
forget call. Alyssa and Eric are back. Welcome back to
the show. You two.

Speaker 6 (14:24):
Hi, thank you for having me again.

Speaker 4 (14:26):
They're both talking. I thought for sure we'd get him
on and things were bad again. Refuses to say it's forgotten.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
Yeah, so what's new and your guys is friendship? Why
did you email for an update?

Speaker 7 (14:39):
Well, first of all, I mean I kind of want
to thank you guys. It was a difficult call that
we did. Because of you guys, we.

Speaker 6 (14:48):
Were able to mend our friendship and I don't think
we would have been able to have that tough conversation.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
Oh was right group right now, You're not generous enough,
But thank you for that.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
Okay, Yeah, well, I mean after that call, you know,
life went on my boyfriend.

Speaker 7 (15:10):
He didn't know about the caller that had aired or
anything like that.

Speaker 6 (15:14):
And then a.

Speaker 7 (15:15):
Couple months later, my birthday happened and Eric.

Speaker 6 (15:19):
Got me flowers through my birthday, which was very sweet
and kind.

Speaker 7 (15:22):
Yeah, but my boyfriend didn't get me anything for my birthday.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
Our boyfriend's required to do that for their girlfriend or something.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Did Eric's friendship cards say, I told you so?

Speaker 6 (15:37):
No, did you.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
Dump the boyfriend after you forgot your birthday?

Speaker 5 (15:42):
No?

Speaker 6 (15:42):
I didn't dump him after that. But a couple months
later it.

Speaker 7 (15:46):
Was our anniversary and Eric wished me a happy anniversary,
and my boyfriend forgot.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
Starting to trust, here's in your life who really cares
about you, and there's one who obviously doesn't.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
Okay, so six anniversaries later, yeah you forgot?

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Was that the straw?

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (16:11):
No, that was the That was the final straw.

Speaker 7 (16:14):
Yeah, okay, So I didn't like hearing about my boyfriend's laziness,
but I do admit to Eric that he was right.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Yeah, er right now.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
No, I'm not going to do that, but I mean listen,
like I just I've got your back. I'm going to
keep doing that.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
Oh wow, this sweet healthy friendship's making me sick. Okay,
I'm glad.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
I know.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
It's really happy. We're very very happy for you guys.
Thank you for the update. Okay, thanks, Yeah, I have
a good one. Brook and Jeffrey in the morning.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
