Speaker 1 (00:00):
Second date up dated, you know, the saying opposites attract.
I don't know if that's really true, at least not
in today's call.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Okay, I mean it typically is. But why do you
say that?

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Because the woman on the phone said that her and
her date both have blonde hair, they both enjoy chocolate pudding,
and they both have the same mother.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
How crazy is that gross? I mean, okay, I don't
know about the last one.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
I may I may have slept that, but it would
be an interesting twist if that turned out to be
the case.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
That's not the word.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
Yeah, that's the word I'd use. Illegal.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
We draw the line at cousin stuff on this show,
but please welcome Justine to the program.

Speaker 5 (00:44):
Hey Justine, and you do realize the same mother makes
you siblings, even not cousins.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Only by blood brook.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
So, Justine, you send in your email that you bonded
with this guy because you had a lot of similarities.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
What similarities did you know? Notice?

Speaker 6 (01:01):
Well, we're both really quiet.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Talk softer, awkward on a first date.

Speaker 5 (01:08):
But no, no, it always reminds me of the movie
quote we could talk or not talk for hours show.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
What's his name?

Speaker 6 (01:16):
By the way, his name is ken, Okay, how do
you mean him? We met at the bank.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
At the bank, why do you have to go into
a bank?

Speaker 6 (01:25):
I don't like, right? Who does that anymore? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:30):
I think it's interesting that two quiet people would meet
in person.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Like who too.

Speaker 6 (01:36):
Well, actually, we were both filling out paperwork side by side,
and I asked him to borrow his pen. But I
didn't even like say words. I just was like, you
know how.

Speaker 5 (01:49):
You do, like just hold your hand out like you
pointed with a nice smile.

Speaker 6 (01:54):
Yeah, exactly, And that's kind of how it got started.
It was pretty sweet.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
That is romantic.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
She points, and he's like, do you want to go
out with you?

Speaker 5 (02:03):
I think he also did a head nod and understood,
have you talked at all?

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Yeah? Heard this man's voice?

Speaker 3 (02:09):
All right, that's kind of cute.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
You're both cute though the vibe it was purely vibe.

Speaker 7 (02:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
So what did you guys do when you went out?

Speaker 6 (02:16):
Well, at first, he suggested, because we were both so quiet,
he said, we should do this like dating in the
dark thing. That's when you don't see the person, not
when you don't speak to them.

Speaker 5 (02:34):
The dinner where you go dining in the and you
do the dark dinners?

Speaker 6 (02:39):
Yeah exactly, is that what you did? No, No, they're
still here.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Do you like them? It would be both of your
happy place.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
But what.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
What did you end up doing?

Speaker 6 (02:56):
We wound up going to this little Mediterranean place, and
like we were texting before we went, and we agreed
to each bring notebooks, so we just wrote each other
notes at dinner. Very fun for you.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
This is cute torture for me. But this is adorable?

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Was it the whole time he wrote notes?

Speaker 6 (03:19):
I mean, we talked to the waiter.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Okay, but for the rest of the time, you two
tried to stay quiet and just enjoy and soak up
each other's silence.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Well no, no, they shared information still, but yeah, but
quiet quietly in their way.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Yeah, I bet.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
There's a lot of smiles every time the note got
passed back, though.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Yeah, it sounds hot.

Speaker 6 (03:42):
Like we wound up laughing the whole time, Like we
really enjoyed each other's company, which is kind of awesome.
But there was a mistake. The waiter brought out only
one meal at first, and it was what I had
ordered it, but they put it down in front of
and so he started eating and I was like, I

(04:03):
wrote him a note and I said, no, that's mine,
and here we are back mine.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
What Oh no, I'm not even say not anymore?

Speaker 6 (04:12):
Right, so it made us laugh. We both laughed a lot.
It was really fun. Did you get food?

Speaker 8 (04:17):
I worried?

Speaker 6 (04:19):
Thanks for worrying. Yeah, okay, he gave me back my
dinner and then his showed up.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Oh yeah, like a challenge to not talk.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
That's what almost sounds like to break it first.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
Sounds like a challenge to them would be to talk.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Yeah, like for certain people, like talking is a big struggle,
but like, this is the perfect date for two people
that are kind of shy and introverted.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
You guys shared the last kiss by just drawing lips
on two pieces of paper and putting them together.

Speaker 6 (04:44):
That's funny, but.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
No, so tell us after the quiet dinner, how did
the date end?

Speaker 6 (04:51):
It didn't And the dinner, which was kind of nice,
really got ice cream and we were people watching and
I pulled out my notebook and said we should do
this again sometime and he wrote yes, But that was
like more than two weeks ago. Well that's not true.
It's almost two weeks ago.

Speaker 5 (05:09):
I guess almost two weeks Okay, I don't know, I
feel like this guy is going to be a slow
mover just from the vibe he's given thing.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
No, No, it's just who he is. A letter in
the mail. Yeah, it's like, I don't think I would
be worried that he hadn't contacted you in two weeks.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
You guys literally do sound like an old married couple
with Like you guys go to the bank. You guys
write each other notes, enjoy each other's silence, and sit
on a park bench eating ice cream together.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
Sounds like you guys just text, though obviously you're not
on the phone a lot.

Speaker 6 (05:39):
I mean I sent him a text.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Okay, that must have been a struggle for you.

Speaker 6 (05:45):
Though, you guys are making me bless. I can't believe
how hard my cheeks are burning.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
I'm going to say real quick, I am really impressed
that you're doing this, because you are really putting yourself
in a place that isn't a couplemfortable zone for you.

Speaker 6 (06:01):
That's cool, and that's actually the deal is like, I
feel like I need your help because it's so awkward
to call him, and you guys are so good at
the talking.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
I don't know if we're good at talking, but we
can do a lot of so an awkward.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Tuesday, Yeah exactly. So we're gonna come back.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
We're gonna call quiet Ken for you and see if
we can silently get him to agree.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
To another day. We're gonna do it right after this.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Hold on Thanks.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Second date update.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
We probably just met one of the sweetest people that
we've ever had on this show before.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
I hope not. Her name is Justine.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
She is quiet, she's kind sounding, she's got a very
genuine laugh. It made us all feel good about ourselves
no matter what we said.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
I mean, honestly, that's so rare.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
If we get this guy Ken on the phone and
he says something rude or disrespectful about her, hang up,
I'm just letting you I am treating her like a
little sister to our show, and I'm going to be
standing up for her hardcore.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
Are you fighting them?

Speaker 2 (07:10):
I don't know if she wants to be a little sister.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
But no, I'm just saying I'm in her corner.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Okay, Okay, got it, And I.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Mean it already sounds like her heart is breaking, because
who goes on a silent date and has a great time. Yeah,
Justine and this guy apparently the only communication that was
had the entire time was via handwritten note. So we
need to figure out how to get him on the
line and figure out why he is not jumping to
get on another date.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
With her, honestly, Like, he can't have a multitude of
options here.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
This is a guy who barely talks.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Okay, this is her future husband that you're talking.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
I don't like it in a midway.

Speaker 5 (07:45):
I'm just saying he's not out there being a player,
you know, like he's got out running game. Because he
can't pass notes to just any hot lady that walks by.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
It's not like he's just just the field, Justine, Do
you want to defend your man?

Speaker 2 (07:58):
No that she knows what I mean?

Speaker 8 (08:00):
Right?

Speaker 5 (08:01):
Maybe though, Okay, how do you just walk into a
library and rise up everyone in silence?

Speaker 1 (08:08):
It's possible. I mean, he could be like a silent
cast exists.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
Book marks, so many hot singles at the library.

Speaker 6 (08:18):
Can I tell you, guys, I'm a librarian?

Speaker 3 (08:21):
You are?

Speaker 8 (08:22):
You are?

Speaker 2 (08:23):
That is the cutest justice. Do you want to take
back your library comment?

Speaker 8 (08:27):
No?

Speaker 2 (08:27):
I love the library. The only one in this room
that goes really.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
All the time.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
All right, just stay quiet, Justina know you're not gonna
have any trouble with that, but we're gonna call him
and talk to you.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
I'm worried what she tries to pipe in, we're not
going to hear.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
We'll call you in.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
We'll make it obvious.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Okay, thank you, all right, hold on, here we go.

Speaker 8 (08:58):
Hello.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Hey is this Ken?

Speaker 8 (09:02):
Uh? Yeah speaking?

Speaker 3 (09:05):
I can Hey Ken, good morning, good morning. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Well you're probably hearing a lot of voices right now,
and that's because you're on the radio with Brooke and
Jeffrey in the morning.

Speaker 6 (09:18):
Okay, welcome to our show.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Hey, Ken, We're excited to talk to you.

Speaker 8 (09:25):
Why what what? Sorry? What? Who do you call them?

Speaker 3 (09:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (09:30):
We don't want to overwhelm you, but we're doing a
segment here. It's called second Date Update, and one of
our listeners asked us to reach out to you because
you went on an awesome date with her the other day.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Well she thought it was awesome.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Yeah, we all thought it was awesome too, because we
heard a little bit about it. We're talking about Justine.

Speaker 8 (09:48):
Yeah, uh yeah, I think you guys went out almost
two weeks ago.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
That is correct, Okay, okay, I mean she told us
about the day that you two hung out, and it
sounded pretty unique, at least for us. We do a
lot of these calls, but we haven't heard a lot
of dates where two people go out and stay quiet
and actually enjoy it.

Speaker 8 (10:12):
I I'm so sorry, just one second.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
You okay, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Maybees at work or something.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
He's nervous. He's throwing up right now. There's a lot
of talking in a library walk they're shushing him.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Maybe yees scene is the librarian remember, Okay, hey Ken? Sorry,
So look, it sounds like you're busy right now.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
Yeah, we don't want to like take up too much
of your time. But bottom line is Justine says she
had a great time. The question is she's not getting
any signals back that you wanted to hang out again,
and she's kind of disappointed by that.

Speaker 8 (10:47):
I am. I kind of don't want to hang out again.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Oh buddy, why?

Speaker 8 (10:56):
I mean, you were passing notes right, we were talking
about ourselves and I started running out of things to say.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
I mean, it would be a lot to write.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
Yeah, yeah, and it is hard when there's a lull
in conversation to force a question. Yeah. The first couple
are okay, but by the third or fourth you're like.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
So you shouldn't feel bad. That happens on all first dates.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
I feel like, really, brook people write on all of
their dates, you know.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Not of moment. Yeah, we're like, I don't know what
to share.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Yeah, I get that.

Speaker 8 (11:31):
You guys don't understand. I literally told everything about myself.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
Oh you ran out of things to like reveal about
on the on the first date.

Speaker 4 (11:40):
That should be impossible.

Speaker 8 (11:41):
Bro books, movies, interests, foods.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
But there's more people than what you and a lot
of I mean, I don't think you're giving yourself credit.

Speaker 8 (11:55):
I think you're giving me too much.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Middle ground here, you might surprise.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
I can understand you feel a little bit nervous and intimidated,
But what are you worried about?

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Like, what's the harm in seeing her again?

Speaker 8 (12:09):
I am I'm worried she's gonna find out. I'm not
just quiet like she is, I'm boring, boring.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
That just broke my little heart. Dude, You're not boring.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
You have a like awesome woman And when you do
another date, that's what you talk about the whole day.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Is the activity, like a new topic, you know, just
what happened in the last Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
You are I'm just always going to replay their exactly.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
You are just the calm in a world full of chaos.
We need people like you. You balance out all us idiots.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Yeah, and it doesn't matter if you think that you're
boring or you're not enough. Somebody that believes that your
plenty is Justine. And don't just trust me. She's on
the other line right now waiting to talk to you.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
This is pretty bold.

Speaker 7 (12:59):
Justine, are you there, I'm here, You guys kidding me
right now?

Speaker 3 (13:06):
She's been listenings.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
I think he's about to have a heart attack.

Speaker 6 (13:12):
Yeah, just seemed.

Speaker 8 (13:14):
I am so sorry. I can't listen to all that.
Why why?

Speaker 6 (13:21):
Because it was my idea. I was too nervous to
call you, and I called somebody who could, and these
sweet people have I didn't we didn't mean to scare you.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Sweet.

Speaker 6 (13:37):
It feels like maybe it backfired.

Speaker 8 (13:41):
No, no, not at all. I'm really glad to move
from you again.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
Oh.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
I feel like if we wouldn't have gotten involved, they
would have never talked to each other.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
Make this about us credit, We are amazing.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
Get contacted us.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
Look, I understand that you're really nervous ken about talking
to her and coming across a certain way. I think
the pressure of being in a quiet setting is a lot.
I think the next date that you go on like
you're just in the wrong venue. Do something that's loud,
go to a sporting event, like go to a comedy
show where there's other stuff to point at and talk
about rather than just sitting quietly together.

Speaker 6 (14:25):
Comedy show would be so fun.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
It would be fun. Would that be fun for you?

Speaker 6 (14:30):
Ken?

Speaker 8 (14:31):
That sounds like it would happen.

Speaker 7 (14:34):
Okay, coy, she's so funny.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Look, the whole goal of this is to set you
guys up on another date and lock that down, and
we would pay for it. So Justine, now that you
know how he feels, you still want to go out
with him again very much?

Speaker 3 (14:53):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (14:54):
Okay, you hear that, like that's got to feel good?

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Right up?

Speaker 8 (15:00):
Hello, can I'm sorry I dropped my phone off. It
sounds it sounds creep.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
We will send you guys out on another day and
we're gonna pay for it.

Speaker 6 (15:14):
Okay, awesome, Thank you so much. I'm so grateful you guys.

Speaker 5 (15:19):
Okay, it just makes me want to go to the
old room and shout cat Cat, Cat cat.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
Okay, see it feels good.

Speaker 8 (15:28):
That's a little terrifying, so.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
We should have whispered it for my bad.

Speaker 7 (15:33):
Yeah again, I'm just gonna hang up brooking.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Jeffrey in the morning. Oh man, if we do not
get an update from them, I will die.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
Yeah, give us an update.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
I'm just gonna email her every week. She could write it.
We can just read it.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
That's, you know, definitely one of the sweetest calls that
we've ever had, like sickeningly sweet.

Speaker 6 (16:01):
Ye.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
I should have asked for you.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Usually just there was something on my mind. I know
we were all thinking it but didn't want to say it.
The quiet ones are always the free what.

Speaker 5 (16:12):
They are, You know that, that's true.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Their bodies say what their mouths.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Can't make this weird. It's got to make it weird.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
It's beautiful.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
They're connecting on levels that we couldn't even imagine all this.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
We could have nothing wholesome on the ship.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
I think it's sweet.

Speaker 5 (16:31):
I guess librarians often star in those movies.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
You got a point anyway, don't take the paddle out.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
And you know what's happening, and we can make it
happen for you too. Whatever you want. Email the show
we'll call that person who's not calling you back.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
There goes our chance for an update.

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
