Speaker 1 (00:00):
Second date, up date.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Everybody always says, gosh, I wish I could meet someone
in real life, But really.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Do you actually want that? Why wouldn't it sounds so scary.
There's no block button in real.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
You can't Google search them all they're standing right in
front of you. Can't work with your friends send a message.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Yeah, or forward the rest of your conversation to voicemail.
You're out there on an island all by yourself. That
would if your friends were in the other room, though,
You're like, what did you just say? Hold on, I'll
be right back and tell them. You could ask Siri
for like a flirty compliment to give to them, but
it is kind of awkward when they're sitting right in
front of you, so nobody knows that better, like our

(00:43):
listener Stacy, who, according to her email, says she.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Met a guy out in the real world.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Was it frightening, Stacy? Were you so scared?

Speaker 4 (00:52):
No?

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Okay, Well, thanks for being on the show with us today, Stacy.
Tell us about this guy you met.

Speaker 5 (00:59):
Well, basically, I was going to get a coffee and
it was full and there was only one chair open. Yeah,
and when I went to sit in the chair, I
mean It sounds like cliche, like I'm making it up,
but it really happened, Like this guy went at the
same time.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Oh and he was a hot guy.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
Huh, very hot.

Speaker 6 (01:21):
I thought my prayers had been answered. I thought the
universe heard.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
Me because I couldn't believe it. We were both like,
literally we decided.

Speaker 6 (01:28):
To share the chair.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
He was that cool.

Speaker 6 (01:30):
We were sitting.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
You did sit on his last then, is that what
you're saying now?

Speaker 5 (01:34):
We shared the chair next to each hits next to each.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
Other, one chair that video, Yeah, she cheeked cheek.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Did you discuss it or was this just a silent agreement?
Like how did you introduce yourself?

Speaker 5 (01:47):
Well, I don't know how it happened. It just was
so natural.

Speaker 6 (01:51):
We started talking and then I just honestly wanted to
read my book. So I just pulled out my book
Catcher in the Rye.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
And then he turned to me and he said, I
read that book.

Speaker 5 (02:04):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Yeah. I feel like we all read that in high school. Yeah,
it was required reading, but you had to do it
in order to pass.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
I read it for fun, and I don't think I
read that.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
One had to explains a lot about brook. Yeah, by
the way, did you catch his name at any point
during this conversation.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Yes, his name was Tyler, okay.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
And I thought he was impressed with you.

Speaker 7 (02:25):
You're reading like a literary classic instead of some like
smut romance book, which is.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
That it was like a little muscular guy. Is that
something that is a turn on to you out in
the world.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
If you see a woman reading like a really fancy book,
you're like, oh yeah, hot.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
After you said see a woman, oh sorry, immediately No,
if a girl's reading a book, that is good.

Speaker 8 (02:51):
You want a little bit of intellect, right, dumb, So
I need to heard of me a little smart so
we can balance each other.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Okay, all right.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
So you guys are sitting there at the coffee table,
two butts, one chair, and what happens And then.

Speaker 5 (03:04):
He suddenly he's like, hey, I have to go for
my workout.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Oh he's telling you where he's going.

Speaker 7 (03:08):
I always feel like that's kind of a I want
to see you again, or an invite or something smart.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Yeah, like when I say I have to go to
the bathroom, that's like an.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
You think.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
I mean, why would he tell a complete stranger where
he's going.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Why wouldn't he tell her where he's going, well, yeah,
I honestly have an appointment.

Speaker 9 (03:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (03:30):
He just said, hey, it was nice, meaning you I
have to head to my workout.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
It means he's in shape.

Speaker 6 (03:37):
It's sexy.

Speaker 5 (03:38):
I know.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
But how did you get his phone number? Like it
sounds like that's the end, like he doesn't you know?

Speaker 2 (03:45):
No.

Speaker 6 (03:45):
I said, oh wow, I no wonder, you're in such
great shape.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
I love to work out too. And then he's invited me.

Speaker 6 (03:51):
He said, really, you know I do power yoga And
I said, oh my gosh, not a lot.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Of guys do that yoga.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Dow soon it doesn't matter. Okay, I mean so wait,
so you went to his workout with him?

Speaker 5 (04:04):
Uh huh?

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Oh you on the spot to work out. Don't lie.
You never go to a coffee shop without wearing yoga pants.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
I mean no, I had him, No, I had him
in my bag.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Okay, you guys are working out together. That seems a
little bit more intimate.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
How did that go?

Speaker 8 (04:20):
Let's get here and it went great.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
I mean, it wasn't that intimate.

Speaker 5 (04:24):
It was just a class.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
So I just jumped in.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Okay, did you guys get spots next to each other?

Speaker 7 (04:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (04:30):
But we were just doing yoga.

Speaker 6 (04:31):
I mean, you can't talk, but I love the bonding
when you bring your friend to make the contact.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Like this post is hard, you know, give.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
You the look they were They were making out the
whole class across the rooms.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
So fun. That sounds so friendly. You know, when do
we get to the romance?

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Is there a big romantic moment at the end of this.

Speaker 6 (04:50):
Well, like I got his number and he took my number?

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Was there a talk of a date?

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Are you his workout buddy?

Speaker 6 (04:56):
Well, he talks about getting together again.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
So good, No matter what, that's good maybe, but it
could just be like to talk about Catcher in the
Rye and like discuss plot points and stuff.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
That could be really sexy.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
I enjoy it. She did do it for fun as
long as yeah, as long as there's one involved.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Okay, So what's happened since you guys said goodbye to
each other?

Speaker 6 (05:20):
Well, we basically texted. I'd stay back and forth about
three times, and it was going really good at the start,
super easy. Texting back and forth sounded like we were
going towards setting something up. And I haven't heard from
him since.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Well, sometimes of your hands, like something else could have
happened in his life, and but what do I do?

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Well? We call him.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
For help.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
That was a smart move. We're going to try and
call this guy Tyler.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
We'll see if he picks up the phone, and hopefully
he has an answer for why he's not setting up
a second meet.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Up for the two of them in the middle of
power yoga. We're going to embarrass him.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
He will bring it in the studios.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Okay, all right, we'll do it right after this hold
on second date update? What else do you need for
a steamy first date besides hot coffee, power yoga and
Catcher in.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
The rye.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
Sweaty just thinking about.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
It, hard cover first edition? Oh you studious.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
Stud Honestly, that would be worth so much money that.

Speaker 5 (06:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Well, that's the impromptu date that our listener Stacey went
on recently after randomly meeting a guy named Tyler at
a coffee shop. And even though they worked out together
and seemed to have a lot in common, there didn't
seem to be a ton of romantic chemistry happening. So,
like Jose was saying, it's possible that Tyler sees you
more as a workout study buddy, but we don't know

(06:58):
that's the whole reason that we're about to And even.

Speaker 7 (07:00):
If that's the case, then maybe we can help turn
his mind into a more romantic thing. I mean sometimes,
especially with guys, they just don't see it unless it
like slaps him in the face.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
You know. Brook is ready to slap Tyler right across
the face till he sees the sexy side of.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Stay and then figuratively, yeah, but physically too if it comes. Okay, Stacy,
are you cool with that? Do you condone that?

Speaker 6 (07:26):
Yeah? I just really don't meet people in real life.

Speaker 7 (07:30):
Okay, that's a common sentiment, I mean romantically, right, I
mean you're.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Probably most people. Yeah, that's how it is. I'll bring
that up to Tyler too. That's a good point. You
don't meet people like this every day, so he shouldn't
let it pass him by.

Speaker 5 (07:44):
He really shouldn't let this pass him by.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
Yeah, that's a confidence we need, Stacy going into this.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Okay, first, let's see if he picks up, because I'm
dying his number now.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
Okay, Hello, Hey is this Tyler?

Speaker 7 (08:05):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (08:06):
Yes, hey man, how.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
You doing today? You're on a radio show right now
called Brook and Jeffrey in the Morning.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
Welcome to the show, Tyler Maya, good morning.

Speaker 9 (08:16):
Okay, I'm on the radio right now.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Yeah yeah, well yeah, okay, say hi to millions of people.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
What is this about?

Speaker 2 (08:26):
We wanted you to do all the shout outs for
the day on the show, so we'll get to that
in a second shot.

Speaker 6 (08:32):
My second.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
We have a lot of that. Oh yeah, okay, let's.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Not do this then we have a great voice for it.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Before we get to that, we want to talk to
you a little bit about your dating life in a
segment that we do called second Date Update.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
Uh mine, yeah, yeah, you've been dating.

Speaker 7 (08:50):
Right, Well, this isn't really a date met day like
this may be because you know, you may not categorize
it that way.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
We're not sure if you felt like it was a
romantic hangout. But you met a woman recently named Stacy
at a coffee shop.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Yeah yeah, the girl with the book, right yeah, that
you shared a chair with.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
So we heard about you guys like meeting up and
you had coffee, did a little workout afterwards, right Yeah?

Speaker 1 (09:21):
I remember her?

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Okay, I mean what did you think about her?

Speaker 8 (09:24):
She's cute, Yeah, she's a beautiful girl.

Speaker 4 (09:27):
Yeah okay.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
Stacey told us that after you guys met up. You
were texting about possibly hanging out a second time, but
nothing happened.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
She's just not sure where your head's at.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
Okay, And you want you want me to tell.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
You on the air that it'd be.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
A lot better than off the air for the listening,
use the phone, and we're just gonna listen, Okay.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
I'm just kidding. And that's okay with you, all right?

Speaker 8 (09:54):
Well, uh, yeah, there's a reason, okay. So we were
texting back and forth and scheduling a first real date.

Speaker 9 (10:06):
Yeah, she said that, And so I was suggesting we
get together the following weekend and she comes back with, yeah,
that's great. I'm excited, but we can't do Friday because
it's your birthday?

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Okay? Does she mean her birthday? How would she know
your birthday? Maybe it came up when you guys were
talking to coffee.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
Did you mention that to her?

Speaker 2 (10:33):
No?

Speaker 9 (10:33):
I never did, and I was racking my brain to
see if I could figure out where she would have
learned my birthday.

Speaker 8 (10:41):
The yoga studio would never say that.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
But isn't that, like, Alexis, isn't that normal if you
meet a guy that you like, you like immediately stalk
him online everywhere, you just talk him on.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
You probably see some's birthday, but you don't mention it.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Yeah, Facebook, are.

Speaker 7 (10:57):
You sure you're not remember like misremembering it, Like maybe
somehow you mentioned it in conversation.

Speaker 4 (11:03):
I don't think so. I mean, we didn't have a
lot of deep talks.

Speaker 8 (11:07):
That's why we're going to get together for another date.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Well, but she's not trying to date you on your birthday,
which is a good sign.

Speaker 8 (11:13):
But just her knowing when my birthday was kind of
freaked me out.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
So I just stopped responding to her.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
I mean, like, if you stalk a guy and you know, yes,
two brothers, you don't mention the brothers. You know, you
think Alexi, she maybe did it on accident.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
Yeah, it's possible, and we can find out because Tyler,
I mean that this isn't going to be a great
look for her when I tell you this. But Stacy
is quietly listening on the other line to this conversation,
waiting for her chance to talk to you, not like
a stock man.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
No, that's not creepy at all. It's just it's just
how the segment works.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
That's our bad.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
Yeah, Stacy, are you there?

Speaker 6 (11:56):
Oh god, Okay, I just want to say I missed
your birthday, so happy birthday.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
Double down. That's kind of funny. You mean that as
a joke.

Speaker 6 (12:09):
No, it's not a joke.

Speaker 5 (12:10):
I really did miss his birthday. And say hi to
little Buster for me your dog.

Speaker 9 (12:14):
Wait, how do you How do you know my dog's name?

Speaker 1 (12:19):
I never told you Buster's name.

Speaker 6 (12:21):
I have a confession to make.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
What are you inside his house right now?

Speaker 6 (12:30):
This whole meeting of ours was not an accident.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
What wait, explain what's going on right now?

Speaker 6 (12:41):
I did run across your dating profile about a week ago,
and I saw the logo for the coffee shop behind
you when you were seating, and I went to the
coffee shop and waited, and I would run into you.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
And I just hope that you can respect a girl
who does her homework.

Speaker 8 (13:08):
That's more than homework to all makes sense now, Okay,
you lied to us too.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
You said that it was like a chance in real
life meeting.

Speaker 5 (13:17):
It was a chance that I would meet him.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
She didn't know what day he was going to be
in the coffee shop.

Speaker 7 (13:23):
Day.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Yea, ja, this is not normal behavior.

Speaker 9 (13:28):
I don't know what to say right now.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
I'm kind of weirded out.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
I don't blame you. And how do you know his
dog's name?

Speaker 4 (13:33):
It wasn't on my dating profile.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
That is nuts, Stacy. You can't do that.

Speaker 5 (13:39):
I can't do that, and I did.

Speaker 6 (13:41):
He gave me the information on the app, and I
put myself in a situation to run into him.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
I trust nothing that you're saying right now, Like what
was the book? Were you actually reading that book?

Speaker 7 (13:52):
Yes?

Speaker 6 (13:52):
I mean after I saw that he liked it.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
Totally.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
Care isn't it the thought that counts behind the dude.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
If we would have known this, we would have not called.

Speaker 5 (14:10):
For Stacy Tyler, a woman who was going to call
for me he had blocked me.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
You didn't, and I'm sure you name.

Speaker 6 (14:21):
You guys are really funny. I saw the guy on
the dating profile and I just went the extra mile
to meet him.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
It's kind of sweet, so innocent that way, Okay, the
extra mile.

Speaker 9 (14:35):
Long mile.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
Yeah, Stacy, you clearly still want to go out with
Tyler here, but before you, I do.

Speaker 6 (14:41):
But I have a problem with something I have to
clear up first.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
You have a problem.

Speaker 5 (14:47):
I noticed you paid someone.

Speaker 6 (14:49):
Named Trish three times last week on a venmo and
I'm hoping you see.

Speaker 5 (14:55):
The dog walker.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
But Venmo was kind of like public knowledge, you can
switch it to private.

Speaker 9 (15:01):
I'm switching it to private right now.

Speaker 8 (15:05):
Yeah, that's that's not very nice.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
It's not polite.

Speaker 5 (15:09):
I don't like that, Tyler.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
Why is that the creepiest thing she said?

Speaker 1 (15:15):
But it's still a yes, as far as I understood that.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
From Stacy. From Stacy, are you actually going to ask Tyler?

Speaker 1 (15:24):
It's kind to ask position Jess. Well, Tyler, we would
pay for your guys to meet up again. If she's
not already waiting for you in your apartment.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
Check your closets. I'm not even lying seriously.

Speaker 8 (15:38):
I think I'm gonna respectfully pass.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
I did not see this, Stacy, you do understand that's
a no, right.

Speaker 5 (15:46):
I maybe just have to work harder.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
Oh this happening one day, guys know, whether if it's
against our will or not, something's gonna happen free in
the morning.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
See, this is why we've always said you can't trust
anybody who reads a book in public.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
Yes, it's a literacy. That was the problem.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
It's a gateway activity. Brook. First you're reading Ernest Hemingway.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Next thing you know, you're reading a stranger's Venmo logue
and monitoring who is sending them money, I mean reading
the enemy, the.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
Guy in the TV show you owned a bookstore. A
lot of people say that a lot of psychos have
come out of Catcher in the Rye.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Why do I feel like this isn't gonna be the
last time that we hear from this Stacy lady?

Speaker 4 (16:37):
Though she was too much?

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Yeah, too much.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
I think we're gonna we're gonna hear from her again
during a laser story where she's being featured in it.
But it didn't work out this time, probably for the best.

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
