Speaker 1 (00:00):
Second date, up date. There's a lot of fun things
in life that begin with.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
The word street, street, street, magic, street, Tacos.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
Okay, Jeff meets.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Yeah street walkers, right, I feel like I do that.

Speaker 4 (00:19):
I walk down a lot of streets Tacos.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Well, today we're going to talk to a street dater.

Speaker 5 (00:27):
Jeff's like, why are people giving me money for?

Speaker 2 (00:30):
I must have really good hair today. But again, this
guy says he's a street dater. He met someone wal well,
not stereotypically, but he met somebody while out on the street.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Okay, that's what I met.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
His name is Drew street Walker. Yeah, technically Drew street
Walker too.

Speaker 6 (00:47):
I think I walked the streets about as much as
everybody else around here.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
Yeah, he's a humble street walk Jeff's neighborhood Okay, we
should probably using that.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
But apparently you met somebody while justucking out and about
how did that happen?

Speaker 7 (01:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:02):
I was just at a bookstore locally, and I like
to read. So I'm leaving the bookstore and i'm you know,
I have my face buried in the book because I'm
walking and I knock into this woman.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Oh that's kind of a cute, you know, it's sound
like out of a movie. The bookstore is involved.

Speaker 8 (01:17):
Clumsy, her bag fell.

Speaker 6 (01:19):
I helped her, and then I gave her.

Speaker 8 (01:21):
A little flirt.

Speaker 7 (01:22):
Wait, wait, did everything happen in slow motion?

Speaker 3 (01:24):
I think he's joking about that part.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
I know, Yeah, I imagine the bag falling. He grabbed it,
he picked it up, he ran No, that's a no, gotcha.
You just knocked her bag out of her hand by accident.

Speaker 8 (01:36):
Yeah, by accident.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Oh, you really did knock the bag over.

Speaker 8 (01:39):
Yeah, we bumped into each other.

Speaker 6 (01:40):
It was pretty big bump, and you know, everything just
kind of flew all over the place. I helped her,
some stuff fell out of her bag, and I said,
you know, it's usually old ladies I knock over and
then I just move on.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
And really funny he beats him with her.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
I get the joke.

Speaker 6 (02:00):
So we finally started walking and we started going in
the same direction.

Speaker 8 (02:04):
So I just started doing a little more like joking.

Speaker 6 (02:07):
Like you following me? And she was like, no, you
following me? And we laughed again. Trying to build like
a little rapport, bro, Like.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
You're turning like kind of a bad situation or a
weird situation into like something positive.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
What point, were you able to get her name?

Speaker 6 (02:21):
I did ask her name, but we walked a little
more and we'd love to know the name.

Speaker 7 (02:27):
And she's like, don't tell anybody what my real name is.

Speaker 8 (02:29):
That name is Sonia.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
So you and Sonya are just accidentally walking in the
same direction and kind of flirting with each other.

Speaker 6 (02:36):
It sounds like, yeah, we eventually get to a park
and we start walking through the park.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
When you got into the park, is that when you
took her bag?

Speaker 6 (02:43):
Then that's when I knocked her over and ran Okay.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Yeah, gotcha.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
More escape routes here.

Speaker 7 (02:53):
Up a tree.

Speaker 5 (02:54):
Did you really have to go to the same way
or were you just pretending so you could plants?

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Like you both just free time to keep walking.

Speaker 7 (03:01):
Oh yeah, that's true too.

Speaker 8 (03:02):
I walked through that park all the time. Yeah. No,
this isn't like the fray.

Speaker 6 (03:05):
I was going in that direction anyway. So it's just
like a very good.

Speaker 8 (03:09):
Meet cute Okay.

Speaker 6 (03:11):
Eventually we came across a sketch artist and he flagged
us down. He was like, hey, you guys want to
get a picture.

Speaker 8 (03:17):
You thought we were a couple?

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Wait did you get a character drive?

Speaker 4 (03:20):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (03:21):
Look, I was down, but she wasn't okay.

Speaker 6 (03:24):
I think first, I think down.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Yeah, it sounds there's so many like perfect things that
are happening to you along the way on this short walk.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
You didn't set this whole thing up. It sounds like, how.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Could he do?

Speaker 8 (03:36):
No, I didn't set anything up.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Will you just have a friend who's like in the
park with a thing and he's like, I'm just going
to take her this way.

Speaker 8 (03:42):
I didn't say it was a friend. It was just
a sketch artist. He wasn't a friend.

Speaker 5 (03:47):
The most that would be the most elaborate setup ever.
You accidentally run into somebody and then suddenly you call
your buddy when she's not looking, who happens to be
an artist, to tell him to set up quickly in
the park.

Speaker 7 (03:57):
I really want to sit down with her for forty
five minutes.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
This I'm just saying.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
We've heard people that have like orchestrated all sorts of
weird things in order to meet that's true, but.

Speaker 7 (04:06):
This doesn't sound like that job.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
How long is this walk going on.

Speaker 6 (04:09):
We're about twenty minutes into the walk by the time.

Speaker 8 (04:12):
She said no to the picture.

Speaker 6 (04:14):
Okay, but halfway through the park and we got to
the end of the park. It was probably about a
half an hour we were together and I got a
good vibe, so I asked her number to go out,
and she gave me a number, and the date just
hasn't materialized.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
Since the Okay, have you guys talked via text or
phone call?

Speaker 8 (04:32):
No? Nothing.

Speaker 6 (04:33):
I've tried to call a few times. I've lost a
few messages.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
I automatically think that she gave you a fake number.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Oh there's no response.

Speaker 8 (04:41):
Yeah, it was her voice on the voicemail.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
It part okay, okay, yeah, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
She gave you the numbers. So I'm assuming she's single.
Did you specifically ask her?

Speaker 6 (04:50):
I didn't ask her if she was dating anyone. No,
but I left a few voicemails and she hasn't answered.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
How many yeah?

Speaker 8 (04:58):
Three? Maybe four? Oh?

Speaker 7 (05:00):
Jay, I don't like. I don't think I called a
girlfriend that many times in one year.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
I think my mom.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
He felt the connection, So whateveryone's different.

Speaker 7 (05:10):
Some people love being on the phone.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
So I'm glad you take a break from your extensive
book reading in order to help reach out to the show.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
And we're going to try and help you call this girl.
What's her name? Sonya? Yeah, son your.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Okay, we'll reach We'll reach out to Sonia and we'll
do your second date update right after this hold on
second date update. If I hadn't read it on the
back of a Blockbuster movie sleeve, I still wouldn't believe it.
But an accidental sidewalk bumping turned into your classic Hallmark

(05:42):
street walker love story.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Yeah, that's the wrong use.

Speaker 7 (05:47):
We're trying to make it sound better than it is.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
It's not a Hallmark movie. I'll tell you that one.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
It fits in this scenario because our listener Drew accidentally
ran into a woman outside of a bookstore, knocked over
her bag, and then turned that awkward moment into a
twenty five minute stroll through a local.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
Park thirty I believe. I mean, those five minutes are
going to be precious. When it's only a short amount
of time.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
You have to get fair. And it all seems too
perfect to be true.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
And maybe it was because she's not responding to any
of his messages.

Speaker 7 (06:17):
It's always the park scene. Yeah, it ruins it.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Something in the I mean he left Okay, here's the thing.
You left four voicemails. Yeah, we have not asked what
was in the voicemails.

Speaker 6 (06:28):
I just told her, Hey, it's me Drew by the park.
You need a lot of guys by the park.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
I mean it's true, not even from the park, like
the guys that's adjacent.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Yeah, maybe she thinks you live in the park after that.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
No, that seems there's.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
A chance though that if she's not responding to anything,
maybe she wasn't even real he was real?

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Are you sure that would make me crazy?

Speaker 7 (06:50):
Exactly?

Speaker 3 (06:51):
What could just mean? You have a bad drug habit?

Speaker 7 (06:53):
Yeah, we're from the park.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
Were you microdosing that day?

Speaker 9 (06:57):
Now?

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Omark hasn't done that yet a microdosing Smiths lead to this, Well,
if you over microd yeah, one of.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Those kids still in the DARE program.

Speaker 7 (07:09):
I signed that contract.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Let's let's have all the street walkers unite because we're
gonna call and we're gonna get an answer from this
woman to figure out what actually happened, if she's real,
and hopefully if there's an explanation, a lot of.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Kids listening who use that term wrong for the next
Christmas the street.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
This is the education you get here. I'm gonna die
of the number right now here we go. Hello, it
sounds real, Jeff it sounds like a person. Is this Sonya?

Speaker 9 (07:45):
Yes, this is Sonya.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
This Hey Sonya. We're a radio show called Brook and
Jeffrey in the Morning.

Speaker 9 (07:51):
Good morning, Hi, Hi, Hey, what's this about.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
This is a segment that we do on our show.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
It's called a set can Date Update, and we're trying
to help out one of our listeners. His name is Drew,
who you met the other day outside of a bookstore.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
Did you just laugh?

Speaker 9 (08:11):
Are you sorry? I just I can't believe that you're
calling about him?

Speaker 5 (08:16):
What you remember Drew knocked you over on accident outside
the bookstore?

Speaker 9 (08:22):
Yeah? Yeah, I remember Drew.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Okay, Well that's great because he said there was like
a meet cute type of situation that happened on the
street and then you guys went through a park for
a bit.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
He's left a few messages.

Speaker 9 (08:35):
Yeah, I mean that did happen, and I was actually
open to seeing him again. That's for the messages. The
messages are the problems.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Well, we asked him about the messages and he basically,
according to him, he said, it was basically, Hey, this
is Drew from the park.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Remember I'm Drew.

Speaker 6 (08:51):
Is that what he said? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (08:53):
Well interesting?

Speaker 9 (08:56):
Oh no, I'm not curious, Like he left me one
message that was so ridiculous. I actually, my roommate and
I have been like dying laughing about it. I actually
I wrote it down.

Speaker 5 (09:09):
Well, you wrote down the message because it was that
funny to you.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Wow, it would it be okay if we know what
the message said?

Speaker 9 (09:16):
Oh, absolutely, I'd love to read it to you.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Because we haven't. We haven't heard anything about it. We
just know there was a bunch of messages.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
She is delighted.

Speaker 7 (09:24):
Yeah, she is.

Speaker 9 (09:26):
Okay, So he told me, he said, I left you
a message you didn't respond to, and I don't like
leaving second messages. But I like you. You're very elegant,
You're very attractive. But I don't play that game. If

(09:47):
I don't hear back by three pm tomorrow, well I'm
no longer interested because.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
He called us. Yeah, mean it.

Speaker 9 (10:01):
Then she goes on to explain why I should call him, Well.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
You should call him some positives. That's good.

Speaker 9 (10:08):
He says, I'm very smart, I'm great in bed, and
I makes a lot of money.

Speaker 7 (10:19):
But something everybody says.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
I mean, it's one of those things when you say
it's hard to believe.

Speaker 7 (10:24):
It's like discovering.

Speaker 9 (10:26):
So then he says, believe it or not, I'm a
complete catch. I'm one of the only men in the
city that has no issues.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
That's yeah, exactly.

Speaker 7 (10:39):
I'm the best one.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
I have yet to find a person that doesn't have issues.

Speaker 7 (10:43):
Is like trying to do reverse psychology?

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Is that finally the end of the message.

Speaker 9 (10:50):
So I don't know what your situation is. If you're
just insecure, or if you're on medication a way psycho
logically normal and you haven't called me because something bad
happened in your life and you just needed a few days.

Speaker 7 (11:07):
Heck, is he checked at hinge?

Speaker 3 (11:11):
That's so started out hinge, then it got a little better.

Speaker 7 (11:15):
Now we're back. Now we're unhinged again.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
Yeah, So clearly there was a lot happening in that message,
and it could help to get insight into what he meant.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
By it because it's embarrassed right now.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Maybe because Sonya, he is on the other line listening.
We've got Drew waiting to talk to you.

Speaker 6 (11:32):
Oh hey, hey, Sony, hey hey, is there something that
I said that wasn't true? Was it something that I
said on that voice now.

Speaker 8 (11:41):
That wasn't That was a lie?

Speaker 6 (11:43):
What, Yeah, you can't say that, dude, You're coming to
kind of hot?

Speaker 7 (11:46):
Yeah, a little bit, I think defensive.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
No apology.

Speaker 9 (11:51):
Well I'm sorry, Drew. I just like we met for
thirty minutes, we didn't even go on a real date,
and then all of this you're going on about how
great you are, and then you start come for me
and like blame me for not calling you back. I
just found it all to be a little much for
someone that like I'm.

Speaker 8 (12:07):
You agree that I'm right.

Speaker 6 (12:09):
So what with the problem You don't you don't appreciate
being direct. You don't like guys who are direct. I'm direct,
making a lot of money. I'm smart, and I'm good
in bed being direct.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
More and more doubtful talking about.

Speaker 6 (12:25):
You know, you're all laughing now, but you won't be
You'll be crying later when I'm out of your life.

Speaker 8 (12:31):
That's what's gonna happen if you don't make the right move.

Speaker 7 (12:33):
I got to find out how good you are in bed, bro.

Speaker 8 (12:36):
Sol you didn't call me back was really stupid.

Speaker 6 (12:40):
I mean, come on, people like me who are good
in bed and smart and stuff, you know.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Why do you leave?

Speaker 8 (12:46):
That stupid person is going to give that up.

Speaker 6 (12:54):
You know, you know in this city there are no men,
and I'm a total catch, you know the man.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
I kind of agree with him on that.

Speaker 6 (13:01):
I don't know. I don't know, Drew.

Speaker 9 (13:04):
I feel like the people who are actually good in
bed don't go around talking about how good they are
in bed. I'm not getting the best vibes from you,
to be honest, Like it just feels like I know that.

Speaker 8 (13:15):
You haven't bragged about being good in bed.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
Yeah, well you're not supposed to.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
What are you talking about.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
To any hip hop music? They're all about that?

Speaker 5 (13:23):
Are we going to ignore the rest of the text
about what was that?

Speaker 8 (13:29):
I saw her beg her begs.

Speaker 6 (13:31):
Everything fell everywhere I saw her meds.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
You read everyone's on medication.

Speaker 8 (13:38):
Yeah, on medication. You sound crazy smart and well read.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
Sonya thought you were going to come to Drew.

Speaker 5 (13:48):
This is honestly, this is shocking to be I thought
we were going to come to Drew and you were
going to be humiliated that this voicemail was out there.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
But like only somebody who's addicted to meds would be humiliated.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
He's perfect broe.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
With no narcissistic tendencies at all.

Speaker 6 (14:04):
No, I don't clearly good, Sonya?

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Was he right? Are you on the verge of tears
right now?

Speaker 9 (14:11):
I'm just really heartbroken that it can't be with this perfect.

Speaker 6 (14:17):
I'm glad that you can finally admit it, Sonya.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Don't give up yet, because I'm going to give you
a second chance right now by offering to send you
out with the only perfect man in the entire city with.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
No issues, with no issues.

Speaker 6 (14:31):
She would do that if she went on a date,
if she called me back like a normal person, I
wouldn't have to do what happened. But he just called
me back like a normal person.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Sonya. It's up to you if you'd like to see
him again or not yelled at a little bit, it's
your choice.

Speaker 9 (14:44):
I appreciate the offer, but I really I'm really not
into them.

Speaker 7 (14:50):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
Shocking.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
She's talking about me though there like and I get that,
But what about Drew?

Speaker 3 (14:57):
That was really shocking?

Speaker 9 (15:00):
Noted Drew author, Wow Wow, really, Sonya out, I'll tell
her I'm with you.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
I don't think he was at all true.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
If this woman can't see how perfect you are, then
she doesn't deserve you.

Speaker 6 (15:14):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (15:15):
Thank you, thank you, very You can't read sarcasm.

Speaker 6 (15:18):
He's really thanking you, jeff I don't read sarcasm.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
Yeah, you hear it, Brooke exactly. Thank you, Drew, thank you.

Speaker 8 (15:27):
He really is perfect.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
Rookie Jeffrey in the morning.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
I feel like we should have asked that guy in
part one, how confident are you in getting a date
one to ten? Oh my god, I felt like maybe
he was a four going into it.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
He would have said he'd like thirty.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
Yeah, here's the thing.

Speaker 5 (15:46):
He acts so confident, But we never brought up the
fact that on message too, he said he'd never be
interested again if she didn't call him back, and yet
he was still on the phone.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Yeah, still left her more voicemails.

Speaker 5 (15:56):
Yes, still, I mean, all of what he was saying
is not believable.

Speaker 7 (16:00):
It's like a guy who doesn't know how to play
the game. But someone told him right like, hey, if
you ignore a girl or if you're just this.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
And they love ultimatum.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Yeah, didn't work, and he was totally shocked that she
wouldn't take him up on the opportunity to be a
perfect man.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
He'll never said they were perfect and turned out to
be like perfect, Like when has George Clooney been like
do you.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
Know what he said this week that was so annoying
to me.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
Let's not go into it. I don't want to go
into it. I don't want to go into it, but look,
if our listeners I kind of do.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
If our listeners want to take advantage of the perfect man,
