Speaker 1 (00:01):
Most of the time when we do second date updates,
we feature humans trying to find love with other humans. Yeah,
that's what we focus.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
It's kind of hard to talk to non humans.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Generally our policy has been to focus strictly on human interactions.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Jeter, are we gonna get the first doggie second date?

Speaker 1 (00:22):
This was possibly a first because the star of today's
phone call was actually a puppy looking for a forever home,
and it led to one of the more memorable second
date showdowns we had all year between two fellow dog lovers.
You're gonna hear it when they both come back on
to share what's happened since in a brand new second

(00:45):
Date update update. Right after this second Date update, I
was watching a clip on TV the other.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Day music Play My Dad.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
It's great this Brook and Jeffrey in the morning. We're
not on to be by the way, but you can
find us on other more reputable platforms. But the clip
was a single lady, an attractive single lady, mind you
talking about dating in the modern world and how it's
so rare now that guys actually plan anything for their dates.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Yeah, I don't know what, just hot women complaining.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
The algorithms doing what it wants to do.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
All.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
She was really upset because a guy wanted to go
on a walk and get to know her. Okay, am
I right? Alexis a walk? She's jobs. I mean, plan something,
pay for something, put in some actual effro the.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Mall something, and you need to watch less to be jee.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
I'm just saying that's why I'm proud to talk to
our caller today, because he actually planned something for his dates.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
He would be celebrated on the platform the absolute.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
His name is Cole.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Cole.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
It is an honor and a privilege to have you
join us today. How you doing man?

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Well? Thanks, it's an honord privilege to be here again.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Set up.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
I feel like you're just going to tell us that
you took her to dinner. Yeah, which is fine, that's great.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Oh you bought her a two be subscription too? Good man?
What's the premium to get the good content?

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Like I get? So?

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Cole, tell us about this girl that she meant what's
her name?

Speaker 4 (02:27):
Her name is Jamie?

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Okay, how'd you guys meet?

Speaker 4 (02:30):
We met through one of the dating apps, and I
really went out of my way to make this a
special experience for her.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Can I ask before we find out what you did? Why, Like,
why were you so motivated to do something special for Jamie.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Well, we were talking before we met and she had
mentioned she hadn't been very social in the last six
months because her dog would run away and she's taken
her naming bar Oh. Oh no, Yeah, she was really devastated.
So I told her that we're going to go to
a restaurant, but instead when I picked her up, I
actually took her to a pet shelter.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Oh, pet shelter, Risky moved.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
You didn't tell her at all?

Speaker 4 (03:12):
No, because I figured just being around dogs would help
cheer her up, you know, happened at the time of
the animals, and would be able to know each other.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Yeah, or she could be totally re traumatized seeing dogs
with no families again.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
I mean I was worried at first because she was
a little ahead at I think she was a little
weirded out. But then she really seemed to warm up
to the whole thing, and then I really felt like
she bonded with a few of the dogs.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
That's really good.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
So you got to play with the dogs. I mean,
you weren't like going to adopt one right, you were
just going to see them.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Well, I wasn't planning on it, and I thought neither
was she. But she told me she thought she might
come back and adopt one. Oh I know, that's why
I never go to pet shelters. I know.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
But you're a kind of like the hero in that sense,
and that you've reopened her mind to the idea of owning.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
Another I thought. So we left the shelter, we went. Yeah,
we had great conversation. Of course, we talked a lot
about dogs because we also love dogs, and I could
feel the vibe.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Oh did you try to kiss her?

Speaker 4 (04:20):
I did lean in. We did have a little peck.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Oh that's cute, not a dog kiss.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
Kiss.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Many hummed a table chair leg.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Okay, well that's sweet.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
So I'm just surprised I have not heard from her
and we're not already hanging out, you know more no.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Kidding, because if she went back and actually adopted the dog,
it'd be such an easy way to be like, oh,
you have to come walk the dogs with me, you
have to come meet the dog.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
So what's the deal? Is she like ghosting you completely
total ghosts?

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Okay? And how many times have you texted or called to.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Be obsessive about it. But that's the same about three
or four.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Oh see that nothing crazy happened at all.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Like we've heard so many awful stories. I don't see
anything crazy that stands out here.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
I mean not to sound like I'm patting myself on
the back here, but I was awesome.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
You felt like that's when they're I know it's called confidence.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
I think it's really sweet.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
I don't know what's going on here.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Maybe it's something simple, you know, maybe she lost her phone.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Could it be that taking a woman to a pet
shelter is more romantic than buying a woman a bunch
of free drinks. Oh, you don't get to have it all.
We're hopefully going to find out an answer from Jamie
and see if she picks up when we call her
and try and get you your second date update right
after this, and I really appreciate it. Man, Just hold

(05:49):
on second date update.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
You're in the middle of a second date update update,
and we're gonna find out how the couple is doing
right after you.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Here Part two, two daters over their shared love of animals.
Where did they end up at a pet shelter? Yeah,
that's probably petting dogs getting their faces licked, hopefully not
getting their rear sniff to go. Save that for date
number three. And now where does our listener Cole stand. Well,

(06:18):
he feels like he's in his own cage shelter right now,
all alone, crying because his date, Jamie isn't coming to
pick him up.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
He's a whimpering stray in the back of a dirty shelter.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
That's how he feels. That's how it feels to get
ghosted like this. Well, guess what, Cole, We're gonna be
throwing you a bone today, buddy. We're gonna help you out.
We are gonna call Jamie hopefully she picks up, and
we're gonna try and find out what happened. I'm just
praying that she's been so busy rolling around on the floor,
play and fetch with her brand new adopted puppy that

(06:52):
she just hasn't had the time. I mean to pick
up her phone and respond.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Honestly, getting a new puppy is like getting a baby
in a lot of ways. You're up all night, you
got to deal with p and all other sorts of things.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Yeah, write that on the mom blogs. Cool is that
a possibility? Do you think maybe there's a chance that
she just has a new pet and that's taken up
all of her attention.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
I mean, I'm really trying not to make a doggie
style joke here.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Overmind you cold. This is a family show. We have
a lot of kids that listening.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
I was thinking of to You're good. I'm glad we
have the same bre You're.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Really not helping us here.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
So let's just let's close to losing your bone, really
going into territory with this.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Yeah, we got it before any more horrible things are said.
Let's just call it dam past. Everybody down. Okay, here
we go.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
Right now.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
Hello, Hey is this Jamie? Yes, this hey Jamie. Thanks
for picking up. We're a radio show. We're called Brook
and Jeffrey in the Morning.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
Okay, what is this surprise?

Speaker 1 (08:10):
That's for sure, it's a fun surprise. It's a segment
that we do called the Second Date Update.

Speaker 6 (08:16):
So why are you calling me?

Speaker 1 (08:18):
We are calling because one of our listeners has asked
us to reach out to you.

Speaker 6 (08:23):
Who called you?

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Well, it's a guy that you went out with recently
and he you have kind of ghosted him, at least
that's what he thinks. His name's Cole, are you kidding me?

Speaker 4 (08:34):
That piece of crap called you? Wait?

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Are we talking about the same person, the guy that
took you to the dog shelter?

Speaker 4 (08:43):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (08:43):
Really he told you that?

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Is that wrong? Is that not right?

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Did you not go to a pet shelter?

Speaker 4 (08:50):
No?

Speaker 6 (08:50):
We did, And I can tell you exactly why I'm
not calling him back.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Well that makes our job so easy.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Yeah. Yeah, Honestly, Cole is very confused. From his perspective,
the date went really well, and you guys had a
lot of fun.

Speaker 7 (09:03):
And we did, and I felt a huge connection with
one of the dogs that we met. I went back
to the shelter the next day to adopt him, and
I even named him Muffin already in my.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Head, solid name.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
What happened?

Speaker 6 (09:21):
So the shelter worker that I saw there, who was
the same person we saw the day before? For me,
the guy I was with, had come in and adopted
the dog.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Wait, Cole came in.

Speaker 6 (09:33):
Yes, I asked him if he was joking?

Speaker 4 (09:35):
What the heck?

Speaker 6 (09:36):
He said he'd come in like an hour before me.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
You're kidding, I mean, this has got to be some
sort of mix up.

Speaker 5 (09:42):
I know.

Speaker 6 (09:43):
I was shocked and Honestly, I thought maybe he was
going to text me and say that he had a
surprise for me, totally me wanting to go back out again.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
Okay, but he did when he but he said that
he called you and he texted you. He wanted to
get a hold of you. Maybe that's still the case.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
And maybe that's the whole reason that we're doing this
call is to give you a huge surprise, because I
need to let you know, Jamie, that Cole is on
the other line right now wanting to tell you something.

Speaker 6 (10:11):
Maybe.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Hey, Jamie, I didn't know you knew about that. Why
didn't you just text me about it? You just ghosted me.
That's terrible communication. Wait are you joking?

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Do you have the dogs? You have Muffin?

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Yeah, I have Muffin and I feel like we've really bonded.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Oh wait, wait, you're holding her for Jamie right to.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Give as like a so shocked that she's even upset
about this, because I knew she had a connection with
one of the dogs, but I thought she had a
connection with that little uglier one.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Pretty cute.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
You plan a day for a woman who's grieving her
lost dog, and then you steal the new dog from birdn't.

Speaker 6 (10:56):
Are you kidding me? Who stole my dog?

Speaker 4 (10:59):
Like I feel your dog? I thought you wanted that
little ugly thing.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Oh cute, that's exactly they.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Just why are you insulting her? Why do you not
feel bad? Cole?

Speaker 4 (11:12):
It was an ugly dog. You guys didn't see it.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Okay, but you didn't you chuck Muffin. We're too invested
in this with little dogs being involved. We all have
to step away and let Jamie and Cole talk to
each other. Cole say something to Jamie because you She
feels like you knew that you liked that dog, and
you came in and swooped it out from under her.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
I did not. I had no idea that she felt
that way about it. But I feel like I have
a way we can all be happy already.

Speaker 6 (11:41):
Okay, I told you at dinner that Muffin really touched
on my heart.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
There's a deal that can be made. I feel like
I'm being very magnanimous here. How about if you want
to buy him off me, I'll give him to you
for three hundred dollars.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Well, okay, that's.

Speaker 6 (11:59):
The adoption fee was only seventy five dollars.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
So you're so attached it.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Three hundred dollars is your is your price?

Speaker 4 (12:08):
You guys can judge all you want, but he's my dog.
Now he's not in the shelter anymore, and we really
developed the bond, and I'm sorry, but it's going to
cost money to break that.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
I will say now that he's not a shelter pet,
I see where he's coming from. They are more expensive
when they're not directing a good point. He's domesticating.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
You got this.

Speaker 6 (12:23):
Dog for less than forty eight hours, and now you're
trying to make money off of the dog. And that's honestly,
it just makes it so much worse. I genuinely cannot
believe you're doing this.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
Listen, I don't want any hard feelings between it. So
how about you pay me and I'll give you some
of those plastic bones that I already got for him.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Wow, for the same three hundred dollars deal as before.
Oh yeah, for sure, okay.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Thrown a bone, yeah, lely.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
But actual plastic bone.

Speaker 4 (12:53):
Lead.

Speaker 6 (12:54):
I genuinely just cannot believe that you would be doing
this to me. This is I don't even know what
to say to you.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
I don't understand why you're so upset. You come out
ahead in this deal because for three hundred bucks, you
get the dogs, you get plastic bones, and you still
get me.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Oh wow, that out there too.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Can I trade Muffy you. I totally sense the tension
between you guys that you were talking about.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Honestly, with the whole dog ye dispute, I totally forgot
about your guys's blossoming love connection. Yeah, which is the
whole reason that we're calling. We'd like to offer to
send you guys out on another date that we would
pay for you. We can put Muffin in the middle
of you two, and then Muffing can choose.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
Like on those viral videos.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Muffin's a little bit of a sore subject. Let's just
stick to the romance for now.

Speaker 6 (13:36):
I'm sorry you guys, but I'm going to hang up
and Cole you can text me when you're ready to
gift Muffin to me, because you know that that's my dog.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
So well, he gives you the dog as he get
a date.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
Hey, that ugly little one is still there.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
Hey she's gone.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Yeah, she hung up, Cole.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Col that's low man, Why would.

Speaker 6 (13:57):
You do that?

Speaker 4 (13:59):
I didn't know it was the same dog.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
But you but you found out and then you tried
to charge her three hundred dollars.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
Look, I was being thoughtful. I could have charged her
a lot more. I mean, guess what I found out.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
It was a pure brad Oh those are with thousands
actually yeah?

Speaker 4 (14:17):
So oh man, you guys, you guys known this a lot.
Even though she hung up, do you think she'd still
want to go out?

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Yeah? I think she's went hard to get right now.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
I like, yeah, Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
Honestly, I can't say that I expected to ever hear
an update from these two, but Cole, none of us did.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
No.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Cole and Jamie, though, are back today for an update update.
I'm surprised too. But first, Cole and Jamie, welcome back
to the show.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Hey guys, God, you both sounds somewhat happy.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Yeah, what's going on? What's happened in your lives since
we last spoke to you?

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Like, how do you have an update?

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (14:58):
Well, the social media response was not great.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
He tried to sell.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
Yeah, but the weird thing was it sort of made
me double down and go, well, you know what, I
think this makes me want to take care of muffin
even more.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
I did, so it improved your emotional maturity.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
Okay, was that good or bad?

Speaker 4 (15:19):
I think it ended up good actually, except for the
fact that one day Muffin did end up running away.
Oh well, I didn't know what else to do, so
I decided to call Jamie.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Oh honestly, I almost didn't even answer the phone when
I saw that it was him, obviously, but he told
me what happened, and of course I just like jump
in my car and go meet him to look around
the neighborhood for Muffin.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
Oh I thought you were going to say, to steal
my dog back.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
Yeah, well, if.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
We could find Muffin, I mean, oh, my gosh, my
heart just like fully.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
Thank But the weird part about it is.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
That the whole searched up being kind of a good
experience for us.

Speaker 6 (16:02):
What we have the chance to talk stuff.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
Out, and we bonded a little bit, and I could
tell that Cole wasn't as bad a guy as I
maybe thought he was at first.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
Wow, really, wait are you dating?

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Well, the most important part is that we did find Muffin.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
Oh yeah, Brook, let's focus what their relationship. We're worried
about the dog.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
My gosh, Muffin was like half a mile away at
a dog cafe, just getting treat some pets from everyone.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
So where are you two at?

Speaker 4 (16:33):
Yeah? Well, see what happened was we saw Muffin and
we started walking up and they ran right to Jamie. Okay,
and that's when I kind of went, you know what
belongs with Jamie?

Speaker 1 (16:50):
Wow?

Speaker 4 (16:52):
Dogs?

Speaker 2 (16:52):
And is that when you venmoted him Jamie?

Speaker 6 (16:54):
No, no, no, did not make kay.

Speaker 4 (16:59):
Yeah, that's good.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
Really, I do have Muffin now, but Cole is allowed
to visit.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
Okay, Okay, now, Brooke agrees to stop cyberbullying you for now.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
Cole appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
DM still okay, just occasionally.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
I'm kidding.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
I'm kidding, Bully.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
I'm glad that you two worked it out and were
able to track down Muffin after he was lost. At
least that's a happy again.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
That's the most important thing.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
Well, keep us updated on what happens in your life.
Thanks for reaching out. Okay, thank you, Burke and Jeffrey
