Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's Brook and Jeffrey in the morning, and statistically, almost
everyone on earth is undefeated as a professional boxer.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Oh, because I've never been in a professional We've got
a room full of undefeated boxers and with that record,
you'd think we'd sound less brain damage during What's on
your Mind, where we go around the room and share
what we've all been thinking about lately.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Starting with Brooke Brook, What's on your mind?

Speaker 4 (00:27):
Well, I coached my very first JV middle school soccer game.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Yeah, my daughter was on the team.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
And the good news is the kids played great. They
played so great, they had a lot of fun together.
The bad news is I found out after the game
that the two coaches, which would be myself and the
other coach, got written up for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
We wouldn't expect anything less from Brook. What did you do?

Speaker 5 (00:57):
Yeah, what did you do?

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Well?

Speaker 3 (00:59):
The school was a little upsided. I'm guessing your team
was not winning.

Speaker 5 (01:04):
No, we were winning.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
You were winning, yeah, and you were still unsportsmanlike.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Yeah. Well that was the problem is that apparently, when
you're up ten to zero you should pull your foot
off the gas a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
As a coach, sportsman, what were you doing.

Speaker 6 (01:20):
We were just summing the girls out every seven minutes, like,
let's play.

Speaker 7 (01:25):
You know.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
That's not enough to give you an unsportsman like what
did you know?

Speaker 5 (01:32):
That was? That was it? That was it? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Coaching, Yeah, that's coaching too.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
They said that we went too hard and that we
should have pulled back and we didn't.

Speaker 5 (01:43):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Okay, sure there was one player who scored four goals
all by yourself.

Speaker 5 (01:49):
She's incredible. I don't want to tell her to not
be incredible.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Maybe you should, Yeah, maybe you need to start doing
your own teams.

Speaker 7 (01:56):
Yeah, and every time they score a goal on the
other team, they should score goal on themselves and make.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Any nice come on, fairness, fairness, get along.

Speaker 6 (02:07):
I do feel like you're leading out how much you
were probably yelling excitement?

Speaker 5 (02:10):
Yeah, got it, screaming, and.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
She was probably drunk.

Speaker 5 (02:14):
I mean, I'm just making that up.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
It was eight in the morning, Jose your mind at
my parents' house recently, and my dad all excitedly.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
It's like, Jose, come to the pool and I have
to show you something.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Okay, five scorpions.

Speaker 7 (02:31):
She found five like small scorpions in our pool.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
Wait did he them in his hand, Why did you
ever heard you took them out?

Speaker 7 (02:38):
And then he put them on a rock because they're
all poisonous. But I've never seen the scorpions like up close.
And there's five and apparently he caught to the day before.
So anyway, that happens day one. The next day, we're
like watching a movie. We're in there what we call
the theater room there and I'm eating a sandwich and
I'm barefoot, and all of a sudden, I feel something

(02:58):
pinch my toe. No, like I feel a boom, and
I go, oh, how ow ow.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
And my dad's like, what what's was wrong?

Speaker 7 (03:06):
And I go I think I got stung by something?
And he goes, oh, no, the scorpions. We are all
freaking out. But it's a dark room. I can't see
my feet.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
So I'm like, I grabbed my phone.

Speaker 7 (03:17):
I'm grabbing the light.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
What is it?

Speaker 7 (03:19):
I look down and there it is, what a freedo chip?

Speaker 4 (03:26):
Your toe stuck corner of a hard corner.

Speaker 7 (03:28):
I grasped my toe against a chip, and I thought,
like when you're in the water and you touch a
piece of kelp.

Speaker 5 (03:34):
You know, you're like, ah, I've gotta kill lead. We
all thought I.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Was gonna die still.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
I hope your dad got down there and tried sucking
the post save your life.

Speaker 7 (03:43):
But my family laughed at me so much because I
literally jumped. I was so scared, and now you know,
I'm gonna be scared of freedoms for the.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Rest of my Yeah, alexis what's on your mind?

Speaker 6 (03:55):
So I got to host my first event with our
listeners that I want. Yeah, we got to go to
like a suite at a concert, and I didn't know
what to expect.

Speaker 5 (04:05):
But our listeners were great, of course.

Speaker 6 (04:06):
Yes, and I'm in there with them and it provides
food and drinks like non alcoholic drinks that we have
in there and everything.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Yeah, and don't say cool your own boo.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Yeah, there's a lot of legality behind getting listeners drunk.

Speaker 5 (04:20):
You can't do that. It cool.

Speaker 6 (04:23):
But then so talking to one of the listeners, that's
when they say to me. They're like, hey, so can
you drink while you're on the job.

Speaker 5 (04:29):
And I was like, I don't know, like your.

Speaker 7 (04:31):
First event, you don't know what.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Radio?

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Yeah, the same age as a lot of the kids
that are.

Speaker 6 (04:39):
And then that's why one of them was like, well, hey,
I got a bottle of tequila. I snuck in here.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
This is different.

Speaker 6 (04:45):
Next thing I know, my lemonade cup is getting filled
with tequila. Wow, well I gotta drink some because the
listener gave it to me.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Yeah, yeah, of course, disrespectful.

Speaker 6 (04:56):
But then the rest of the night I didn't expect.
They just kept coming up and they were like, hey.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
I.

Speaker 6 (05:01):
Around, And then they were like, don't tell anybody else.

Speaker 5 (05:06):
There's not enough for everyone. No, the rest you got drunk.

Speaker 7 (05:09):
You fought somebody. What happened?

Speaker 5 (05:11):
No, I stayed responsible.

Speaker 6 (05:13):
If our bosses are listening, I stopped that one side.

Speaker 5 (05:19):
Our listeners never failed to impress me.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
People.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Yeah, dang, all right, Jeffrey, one's on your mind.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
I've never told you all this, But my parents have
this strange tradition where every few years they self publish
a magazine. It's called Generations.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
No way, are you really There's a reason I don't
talk about Okay, I don't want any Wait, is it
like a family?

Speaker 4 (05:43):
Like one of those newsletters that you get at Christmas time?

Speaker 1 (05:46):
It's filled with pictures and write ups about how every
single person in my whole extended family is doing.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
It's like up what rich people do the.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Issue is coming out, and my dad sent me my blur.
Oh were you nervous? We're excited. I don't want anything
to do with it, but can read it.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
I want to read you at least part of how
he described my life okay, because it says while attending college,
Jeff did not show interest in clinical work, scientific research,
or teaching. He also chose not to pursue opportunities in
pre med or business.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
What you old college like fifteen years ago?

Speaker 3 (06:28):
This is part of the write up.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Instead, he graduated with a BA in psychology.

Speaker 5 (06:32):
Oh, there's some disappointment in that tone, and.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Then posted the wrong year of my graduation, no, off
by six years?

Speaker 4 (06:40):
What?

Speaker 5 (06:40):
Oh wow?

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Then he finished it off.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
With a fluke comedy bit became the opening for Jeff's
unsuspecting rise in radio.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
Oh so that's he's not happy about it.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Clearly, my parents are proud of my life trajectory and
career choices.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
Really up to date with where you're currently at in life. Yeah,
why do I feel you're being written out of the will.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
If I can't wait to get the magazine out of
my mailbox and read just how proud my family is.
At least I made it this year the text into
seven eighty five nine two, and you can tell us
what's been on your mind.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
It's brooken Jeffrey in the Morning
