Vader t Rex outfit for a costume contest just last weekend,
a contest she won, taking home first prize along with
five hundred dollars cash money. So Darius thought, Hey, that's awesome,

because mixing friendship and finances that can be a little

gladiator outfit and Brooke was blushing.

this morning. Apparently some Halloween drama has sprung up in
his personal life, so he's ringing our doorbell asking for

Well, I have a problem a home. I'm a big Halloween.

Okay, all right, Like you love to dress up, you
like to decorate your house, Like, what does that mean
to you?
Speaker 7 (03:07):
All types of activities like dressing up, going to parties,
enjoying the spooky things, trying to come up with new
ideas with different costumes.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Okay, all the creative costume media.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Yeah, hanging outside of elementary schools and scaring kids on
their way out just to be part of the season.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
He's in all sorts of Halloween activities, right, that's what
you said, Darius.
Speaker 7 (03:30):
No, no, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (03:31):
I stay away from school.
Speaker 7 (03:33):
So maybe you're not as.
Speaker 5 (03:34):
Big into Halloween as you said you were. But that's okay.

He's an adults to an adult festivities type of guy.

Yeah, okay, teach their But where does that drama come
into your life right now?

Well, during this past weekend that was really sick and
I'm still Halloween party downtown.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Oh, this was the weekend to do it, like the
biggest weekend of the year.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
It does suck that October, like Halloween falls and like season,
it gets sick for the summer.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
It always happened, especially you put a lot of time
into your costume.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yeah, was your sexy costume just gone to waste? Then?
Speaker 6 (04:10):
Well it didn't really go to waste. Oh, I'm gonna
get to that.
Speaker 7 (04:13):
But they had the big Halloween costume contest and the prize.
Speaker 6 (04:18):
Was five hundred dollars. Wow, and I thought I was really.
Speaker 7 (04:22):
Going to win because the Alpha that had was a
very unique outfit. It was the Darth Vader t wets
outfit mixed.
Speaker 5 (04:29):
Together Darth t Rex. What does what does that look like?
Speaker 2 (04:33):
I'm trying to imagine is there a pun I'm missing
in this?
Speaker 8 (04:37):

Speaker 7 (04:37):
No fun. But if you look at it like the
inflatable t wets outfit with a life saber and the
Darth Vader had.

Okay, okay, you're going for the humor aspect of it.

It's just really funny looking.

So wait, you didn't get to wear it though, because
you were sick, right right, I was a little sick.

So my friend seriff I said, hey, take try this on,
go down to the party and have fun.

Oh that's nice. You let your friend wear the costume.

Let's get inflatable din Now you can't see yourself anyways, right, Yeah, it's.

She didn't have a costume anyway, so it was like
I was helping her out.

That's actually she is going to get so much mail attention.
Oh yeah, t Rex starth Vader.

Out, Dinosaurs star Wars. I mean all the boys are
going to be into that. On that one bad boys
came right, So so you sent her in your costume.

Did you hear about how it went?
Speaker 6 (05:37):
Yes? I did. I heard how I went, and it
went well. She actually won the costume.
Speaker 7 (05:46):
Yeah, honestly, yes, she really won. And she in the
grand Frist is like five hundred dollars.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
Yeah, well you get to you should probably get some
of that money since it is your costume that she borrowed, right,
at least have a nice dinner.
Speaker 6 (06:00):
And I agree with that.
Speaker 7 (06:01):
Statement what she said. I do totally agree with it.
And when she won, we both were pretty happy that
she won, you understand, but she didn't offer me anything,
what anything at all.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
She's like, wow, I won five hundred dollars on the
costume you made.

Sorry, No, right.

She didn't split the winningso anything. And I really don't
know how to approach her about it. I don't want
to sound pretty like in a sense. Let hey, I
made that costume that you want.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Totally, and those costumes aren't cheap, you know, the inflatable
t rags and then whatever you had to do to
like construct the helmet. I'm sure you made it yourself
at the lightsaber.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
But you know, sometimes being good friends like you don't know,
like she honestly brought I didn't think twice you guys,
do you not know? Let's just celebrate your hug and
then you're like, I'll see you later.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
It's just logic being a good friend.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
That's why maybe he says something and she's like, oh
my gosh, oh my gosh, you're right, I saw that you.
Speaker 5 (06:53):
Give you some money. Like, what did you say when
you talked to her? Like, how did that conversation go?

When she said that she went, I was like, oh great,
I'm happy for you and everything, but I never brought
up the subject of money.

Awkward Tuesday where one of our listeners, Darius, needs help
calling his friend Charis because she borrowed his homemade Darth
Vader t Rex outfit for a costume contest just last weekend,
a contest she won, taking home first prize along with
five hundred dollars cash money. So Darius thought, Hey, that's awesome,

but she hasn't offered to split the winnings with him
like a good friend probably should. And that's why he
needs our help on how to have that conversation delicately,
because mixing friendship and finances that can be a little
bit tricky, especially when your friend is a prehistoric apex
predator wielding a lightsaber.

To really get her to care about the situation, don't

And as a friend, you'll probably just offer like, oh
my gosh, I can help you.

But you can always use it if you're really really desperate,

And I don't believe it doesn't has my money our

It feels like things are kind of canceling out, with
people getting each other sick, people winning each other contests.
I don't even know who to side with in this scenario.

short on rent, and that's me.

Honestly though, I think you owed Darius one twenty five,

But that's the thing.

It's like with a lot of these calls that we
do with friends and money. When that's the problem, it's
difficult for us to tackle well.

And who knew we were supposed to be calling the
cousin who sounds scary.

I'm actually kind of glad that we don't have to
do it, because I'm scared just hearing about.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Maybe she actually won the costume contest because the person
that was judging it was just frightened to.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
Not get her super scared.

It's probably in his best interest to let them keep
the costume at this point.

At that point, I think she deserves the money absolutely.
