Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, it's your second day podcast with Brook and Jeffrey
in the morning. Thanks so much for being here. And
today's the day where we do something a little different,
you get a little taste of our full show, and
today's is a brand.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
New segment called say Yes to the X. I think
we played these, Yeah, you heard a few. Okay.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
It's where someone wants to get back together with their
ex and we kind of help facilitate that.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
And X doesn't know who's calling them.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Whether we should someone from should help facilitate it or
not is real questionable today, but you'll hear why in
just a second.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
It was hard. It was a cringey one.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
But before we get to that, we do want to
highlight some great listeners who take the time to leave comments.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
We love that so much. Think nice of you, guys.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
And Cassandrula wrote, it's a whopping forty four celsius here
in Ottawa, Canada, and I'm saving my podcast listening for
my five am walk with my dog when it will
still be ninety one degrees fahrenheit. So please feel free
to upload more content for the ungodly hour.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
Oh man, hold on, put your face up to the phone,
I'm gonna help.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Oh, you're right, and it's coffee. Sorry, sorry, you.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Know what, I apologize all right, No matter what time
of day, we hope you're enjoying this and stay cool.
On there.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
It's Brook and Jeffrey and here's your brand news. Say
yes to the X.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Grand romantic gestures while you're dating someone, Yes, good, Yes,
for sure, Grand romantic gestures after you've broken up. Still good.
But maybe a little too little, too late.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
It depends on the breakup.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
I guess, well that's true. Today, I'd like to give
our listeners grand romantic gesture the Goldilocks treatment. We'll hear
it and decide was it too hot, too cold or
just right when we go through it in a brand news,
Say yes to the X that's coming up right after this.
It's brooken Jeffrey in the morning. And you don't meet

(01:59):
a lot of guys anymore who are true romantics except
for maybe Bezos.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
He bought an entire island in Italy, forced all of
the locals to move just so he could have the
perfect wedding sites.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Is that a romantic or is that just a narcissistic
only rich guy That.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Roman Bezos would go to the ends of the earth
for that lady, and he would buy the ends of
the earth and displace all of those people too.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
He's just surprised that she came back on that spaceship.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
You know, even though our listener today may not have
the means of a billionaire, he does have the heart
of a trillionaire. And I feel like his romantic story
is going to tug at the heartstrings of all our
female listeners and our female co hosts as we do
another edition of Say Yes to the X. So let's

(02:56):
talk to him. I hope this is right. It's is
it Barrick with a brick?

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Are you there?

Speaker 6 (03:03):
Yes, yes, I'm here.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Okay, did you displace people out of their home in
the name of love?

Speaker 6 (03:08):
No? No, I mean maybe if I had the money.
Considerate everyone.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
So he doesn't have the means of a billionaire, but
has the same heart. So tell us about your ex
that you're hoping to reunite with. What's her name?

Speaker 6 (03:25):
Yeah? Absolutely, her name is Jenna, Jenny.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Just even how you say it, you can tell you
miss her.

Speaker 6 (03:32):
Yeah, we broke up a couple of months ago.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Actually, Okay, it's been hard on you.

Speaker 6 (03:38):
Yeah, that's putting it lightly.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
How long were you guys together?

Speaker 6 (03:43):
We did it for gosh, probably fivey nine.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Days, probably and a half.

Speaker 6 (03:51):
Am I doing it a year and a half.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Nobody's counting though.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Okay, I mean sounds like he doesn't remember.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Yeah, yeah, okay. Can we ask why you broke up?

Speaker 6 (04:02):
She felt like I wasn't putting enough effort into the relationship,
which I don't know. I feel like all I did
was put an effort, all right.

Speaker 5 (04:10):
Sometimes the effort you're putting in is a different type
of effort than she's wanting.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Yeah, it's like those love language things and they don't
match up, you know.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
But it sounds like you were pretty blindsided by the breakup.

Speaker 6 (04:21):
Oh my god, it flored me. Guys.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Oh okay, I'm guessing you haven't dated anyone else.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Okay, So what's happened in the last two months since
you guys broke up? How have you been doing?

Speaker 6 (04:36):
Yeah? When we broke up, I really wanted to prove
it to her and proved my effort, like how far
I would go for her?

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Oh you were hoping?

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Okay, you were post breakup? I get it.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
How did you try to prove that you were willing
to put in the effort after the breakup.

Speaker 6 (04:54):
Well, I knew she was going on a girl's trip
to Mexico, and I knew the hotel she was staying
at as she planned it while we were still together. Okay,
I booked a ticket.

Speaker 5 (05:05):
You didn't buy a plane ticket to a surpriser, did you?

Speaker 6 (05:08):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Oh god?

Speaker 6 (05:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Oh you show you showed up to her girls trip
in Mexico.

Speaker 6 (05:18):
No, you got to understand, like, I've seen this in
every single movie.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Oh god, Okay, can we get more support from the
room for his effort of romance?

Speaker 2 (05:27):
He says, I've seen it in movies. It's never gonna end.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Well, brother, this.

Speaker 6 (05:31):
Is what she meant.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
You're putting in a lot of work, but in the
wrong avenue.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
That we can't judge it until we know how it
actually went.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Were how fun did? What was her reaction when you
showed up?

Speaker 6 (05:45):
Well, after I waited in the lobby for about five hours,
she and her friends they came through, and they were
all dressed up, all ready to go out for dinner.
And I had a bouquet of flowers in my hand,
and I shouted across the hotel lobby, is this enough?

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Effort for you.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
Oh, I like it? I like it? Did she run?
Did she swoon? Right there?

Speaker 6 (06:14):
Everyone was shocked? It was awesome, I guess right. So
I took her aside and I told her, like Jenna,
I'm here to win your heart back. And I just
don't understand this because she didn't see it that way
at all.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
What are you kidding me? What is wrong with this woman?
I mean, she says she wants effort. Here you are
putting in all the effort in the world and she
doesn't appreciate it. God women, right Brook?

Speaker 1 (06:42):
No, I just really think you misread her boundaries like this.

Speaker 6 (06:47):
Well, she never told me not to come to Mexico's
on her Brook when she when.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
She broke up with you, that is her telling you
that she doesn't want you to come anywhere.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
Guy's supposed to read between the lines and figure that out.
Can we also like the girl's trip. It's called a
girls trip, it is girls only.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
That alone should have stopped you from going.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
She should have put that in the rule book somewhere.
That was the case the title. No, we don't know that.
What happened when you talked to her in the.

Speaker 6 (07:13):
Lobby, Yeah, she told me I shouldn't have done it.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Yeah, is it like, oh my god, you shouldn't.

Speaker 6 (07:20):
Have Yeah, it wasn't one of those.

Speaker 7 (07:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Okay, so you heard her message in the lobby.

Speaker 6 (07:27):
Yeah, so she left with her friends and you left.
I waited in the lobby for like another four hours, and.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Whoa for her to come back from dinner, obviously, so
she can yell at him because he's still there. Don't
listen to everybody else in the room, Barrick, You're fine, Okay.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
You did you see her again?

Speaker 6 (07:47):
Yeah? I mean she came back from dinner this time.
I don't say anything to her. I want to give
her some space. And he does see me, but she
just went up to her room. And I just stayed
at the resort for like three more days because I'm
not going to plat hom I'm not going to leave, right,

(08:08):
it's probably too late. She never said we were over
for good. She said the problem was effort. So this
is my last shot. So after this, I just I
give up.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Okay, Well that's good. Well this is going to be
the end.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Get her on the phone, let him just move on.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
We again, Remember we don't have to get her on
the phone. She is already on the other line. She's
just waiting to talk to somebody. She doesn't know who
that person is. She's going to be so mad, she's
going to be so excited. She wanted effort, and here
is the maximum effort. We're gonna come back and we're
gonna let you talk to your ex Jenna, and everybody

(08:52):
in the room is going to support you one hundred
percent when we connect you to for say yes to
the X.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
I'm going to be there.

Speaker 6 (08:59):
I want a world to know how much I love her.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
Oh, okay, you're gonna do it coming up right after
this Hold on, man, I'm a little bit surprised. But
during the break, right after part one, Brooke came to
me and she said she actually endorses this segment whole heart.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
I did not say that.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Not in those exact words, but she said that she's
a fighter for love and she believes Brek is doing
the right thing and following his heart.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
I don't, and I wish you would drop the sarcasm
right now, because I think it's really Brook.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
It would be really nice if you would say yes
to the Jeff at some point during this segment, because
Jeff is over here fighting for life.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Now they're talking about yourself a third person. What is happening? Brain,
short circuit?

Speaker 3 (09:48):
Okayrook. My question to you is if the roles were
reversed and a woman did this, would you tell her
to follow her heart and go fight for her man,
or would you say, you know what, let him go
and go up with the toothless bouncer outside Copo.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
That is exactly what you need right now, my man.
You do not need your ex. You need to go
find somebody else just to help you get over this.

Speaker 6 (10:10):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
This is a big, like a three sixty turn from
what you were saying to me out in the hallway,
because if you're just joining us, we're in the middle
of a segment called Say Yes to the Ex, where
one person Barrick in this case, has told us he
was broken up with because he was not putting in
enough effort.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Yeah, and then Barrick made a decision.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
To put in the effort and flew down to Mexico
to surprise his ex girlfriend Jenna to try and win
her back.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
You forgot surprise her during her girl's trip to Mexico.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Those are just words.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
So we stayed at the hotel after she said she
didn't want to see him for three more days.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Yeah, wild what's your.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
What's your point that you do crazy things for love?
I agree? Yeah? So now that his now this is
his last chance to show Jenna that he is willing
to put in the effort for her and possible win
her back. Or he said after this, he's gonna give
up for us.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
Okay, And is that true, Barreck, You're going to give
up if this doesn't work. We get your word on that.

Speaker 6 (11:08):
Yeah, I think I've made that decision.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Yeah, and I think you will.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
Yeah, Bro, I mean honestly though, Brek, like, give it
a shot, give her one last effort.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
Sure, but see that's the commitment to love that right there.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
If it doesn't work out, you really do have to
leave her alone and move on.

Speaker 6 (11:24):
Okay, Okay, all right, got it.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
And just like all of these segments, Jenna is waiting
on the other line on hold right now. She can't
hear what we've been talking about.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
She has no idea why she's on the phone.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
I don't know if she thinks this is a contest
or it's like a prank call. Who knows. But our
producers convinced her to come on the show. You got this.
We're all gonna be quiet, and I'm gonna punch her up.
I'll just talk to her a little bit before I
bring you on. Okay, okay, okay, deep.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
Breath, crying like she hears his voice and she's like.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
Yes, this could be the sweet moment that we've all
been hoping for it. But let me punch her up. Hey, Jenna,
you there? Hey, yeah, thanks for being on with Brooke
and Jeffrey in the morning.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
Do we have to say her name? I just don't
know how she's gonna feel.

Speaker 6 (12:15):
About this, what's going on?

Speaker 3 (12:17):
Yeah, I know you're probably a little confused wondering why
you're here, So I'm just going to get right to it.
We're doing a segment called Say Yes to the X.
And I know in this situation, it really hasn't been
that long since you broke up with this person. It's
only been a few months.

Speaker 8 (12:34):
Oh my god, are you serious right now?

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Do you know who we're talking about already?

Speaker 3 (12:38):
I'm talking about your ex, Barrick. Yeah, he's actually on
the phone with us right now with something important to
say to you. Barrick, Go ahead, talk to Jenna.

Speaker 6 (12:48):
Hi, Sugar Bears, come on.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Eric, You're doing great. Talk to her.

Speaker 6 (13:02):
I'm sorry to surprise you like this.

Speaker 8 (13:04):
You know again, what are you doing right now?

Speaker 6 (13:09):
Look? I just need to say this because I think
you're right. I could have been a better boyfriend. And yes,
I should have put in more effort when we were together.
I just there. Look, I never once remembered your birthday
without Facebook's help. That is true. I will own it.

(13:29):
I'm sorry, Derek there.

Speaker 8 (13:33):
Do you even understand why we broke up?

Speaker 6 (13:36):
Yes, you said it was effort.

Speaker 7 (13:38):
Okay, okay, that was just in general.

Speaker 8 (13:43):
Look, the emotional support was never there from you. Like
anytime I would text you I was having a rough day,
you just texted me back. That's like a thumbs up emoji?
What is that?

Speaker 6 (13:58):
Wait? I don't understand. You said, stop trying to fix
all your problems and just support you.

Speaker 8 (14:05):
There, a sums up emoji is not supporting me?

Speaker 6 (14:09):
Okay, Well, I don't know. I mean, should I have
sent like a hug emoji? I don't know?

Speaker 8 (14:17):
You you are not You're not getting it.

Speaker 6 (14:20):
But but you never even got to see half of
what I planned for you in Mexico. I mean I
bought a whole buffel bag. Of surprises for you. Seriously,
I had T shirts made for us that said Signor
and Senorita Reunited Tour.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
You wondered to wear matching T shirts in Mexico during
her girls trips.

Speaker 5 (14:44):
Surprise were a couple agains, no idea.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
They're really cute.

Speaker 6 (14:50):
I still have the T shirts.

Speaker 7 (14:51):
Okay, No, listen, Derek, I look, I was planning on
talking to you after the term anyway, okay, and then
the front desk gave me that the weird scrap book
that you made.

Speaker 6 (15:02):
Oh no, do you like it?

Speaker 8 (15:05):
Took a picture of my face and you pasted it
on Sophia Rigar's body.

Speaker 6 (15:10):
I'm just trying to do what you said and put
an effort.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Why would you put a face on Sophia?

Speaker 8 (15:17):
Not the effort that I had in mind, Barreck.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
Okay, before we let you go, Jenna, the entire point
of this segment is we need to ask you a
very important question, and that question is will you say
yes to your ex give Breck another chance.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
I think you need to be as clear as possible
with your answer here.

Speaker 8 (15:37):
I'm sorry. You're a good guy, and you have a
good heart, and I know that when you meet the
right person, it won't feel like you have to put
in all this effort. You'll just kind of do it,
you know, naturally, because it's the thing that makes you happy.

Speaker 6 (15:50):
Okay, that's so.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Is that a yes or a no?

Speaker 3 (15:53):
Jenna, just to translate the hard no, Okay, hard Barrick
your answer. That's your answer, And you know you did
a great job putting in all this effort for her.
But do you have anything you want to say to Jenna?

Speaker 6 (16:07):
I mean, I appreciate you hearing me out.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
Yeah, Okay, you put your heart out there and that
you gave it a good shot.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
It won't be like she said, It won't be this
hard when you meet the right person. Okay, it'll be easy.
You just need to go eat some ice cream, do
whatever you need to do to get over this resort
in Mexico.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Yeah, take yourself on a vacation.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
There was somebody with Sophia Vergara's body that is just
perfect for you right now.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
Yes, for every man, there's always yes.

Speaker 6 (16:38):
At this point, I would appreciate it if I could
just get my scrap book back.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
Oh you want it back? Probably?

Speaker 8 (16:45):
Yeah, I don't have it. I left it at the
front desk.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
And Okay, well it looks like another trip down to
Mexico to recover your notes book.

Speaker 6 (16:53):
All right, Can I just say something here, just one thing? Yeah,
I need you to understand the whole time I was
down there, your girlfriends they called me, they were trying
to talk to me, and I didn't make a move
on any one of them.

Speaker 7 (17:10):
I highly doubt that they were.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
They all wanted him, but he said no, I am
saving myself for Jenny's That's the perfect way to end
this edition.

Speaker 6 (17:24):
Of Say to the End.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Yay, keep in touch with us.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
But don't keep in touch with Jenna. Remember that's the poy.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Just her friends.

Speaker 7 (17:32):
Yeah, no, Jeffy, Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
So real quick. Just wanted to thank Barrek for bravely
coming onto our show, putting himself out there and being
emotionally vulnerable with us, because it's not easy to do
that when it feels like the whole world is against
you and your heart's telling you to chase after love
but everybody's telling you no. He decided to give it
a show.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Okay, when everybody telling you know it's literally the person
you want to be with, you need to into that
some you don't understand how you keep glossing over this like.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
It was a good thing.

Speaker 5 (18:06):
This is like just the big difference between what you
see in a movie and what.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
Happens in real life.

Speaker 5 (18:10):
Totally, don't get on that plane and chase after her, gentlemen,
if you have not spoken to her, if it's a.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Girl's trip or it's a boy's trip, do not show
up to it. Yes and easy.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
Hollywood should be ashamed for putting that sort of filth
anywhere and encouraging the youth of the country to believe
in I always thought I.

Speaker 5 (18:27):
Was going to chase a girl through an airport and
kiss or one.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Yeah, I haven't done it yet. Yeahs always gets in
the way. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
So hopefully Brek got some closure out of this and
he can finally move on. It might take a bit,
it sounds like, but this was a crucial step. It
did give me a great idea thought to do a
scrap book of this morning show called Our Journey So Far,
with Jose's head on Sophia Virgara's body, Brooks head on
Jason Momoa's body, and my head on my own body

(18:56):
from ten years ago.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
We're also leaving that one at the lobby and next welcome.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Gonna need my Vikings costume photo back from your desk
so I can't use it. If you ever need some
help in your love life, we can help you out.
Just email the show. We'll call your exes for you.
We'll do whatever you need to get your closure. Unfortunately,
whether whether or not it's Brook and Jeffrey in the morning,
