Hi, It's Nancy Glass. The brand new docuseries Burden of
Guilt was a very difficult story to tell, very difficult
for Tracy Riquel, who was the victim and the hero.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Imagine, all you know is that you had a brother.
The brother died and used four months.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
I always told that Matthew died in an accident. We
were amazed, we saw.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
I can't imagine sitting with the kind of mystery of
what happened with your baby brother.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
This was once in a lifetime case.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Medical records said that I had killed my baby brother.
I don't understand. I don't understand.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
A two year old didn't throw this child from a crib.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Is there any kind of possibility that I could have
done this.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
It's an unimaginable sort of trauma to inflict on a person.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Honestly, it just didn't make any sense.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
There was a skull fracture, and we knew that couldn't
have been caused by his sister. There's no way in
hell that this child died from being pushed to me.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Something doesn't wash here. I just didn't believe it. But
if I didn't do it, who did.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
I don't care how old the case it is let's
go exhumb the body.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
That's when those wheels began to turn. Is it possible
Matthew's death wasn't an accident. To me, it felt like
the case had started right there.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
While we had prosecuted some cold cases, this was the coldest.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
This was frigid. Tracy begins to realize that her parents
are fighting something.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
They weren't parents to me, they were monsters. There are
so many twists and turns. You lead her alone, that's
a threat.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
I wanted to talk about your son, Matthew's death.

The manner of to do bad. That case get drawn
into Tracy's fantasy's in Lord fifteen years, She's carried the burden.

Tracy her whole life has thought trying to bring justice.
But there was nothing that anyone could have done to
prepare us what.

Just happened, Just like that.

All my life, I knew there was something wrong with
Matthew's death, but I was not prepared to learn the truth.
