Welcome back to another episode of Inside The Bus. We apologize for missing the last couple weeks during the holiday season. The boys start off the pod with Jarod recapping his stand up comedy debut. As you all know, Jarod lost the bet with Taylor and had to do a 20 minute set. He gets into all of the nerves and preparation surrounding his set.

Following that, the boys have a special guest, Jack Beebe. Jack made the boys the carpet that is behind the couch that JP is on. He has made carpets for a bunch of other athletes and is trying grow his brand. Jack also walked on and played D1 football at Ball State so we get into some stories of his playing days including the day he was put on scholarship. your patience. We've been off for a few weeks. We well,
so to say, inside the bus, this podcast has been off.
The bus has been operating in full function. We just
celebrated Jared Beeman last night as Zany's doing his first
official comedy show. It was legendary. But here we are

because I'm age thirty one, but I'm twenty at heart,
so we'll go with it. Does anyone have any players

We love it well. Now that you're hearing an unfamiliar voice,
we have a guest this week, starting off the year
hot we have in the building, Jack bbe give it up.

Thanks for having me. Excited to be here, so thanks
for having me.

Yeah, Jack, give us a little background info. Where you're from,
Why you're here, what's just to the listener.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
I'm from a This is part of the reason why
I'm here. I guess you could say I I played
our played football ball stay for the last five years.
I started making rugs the last year and a half
and started making for some cool people, and you guys
were one of them. I wanted to reach out to
because I just enjoy your guys content. So uh made
one for the bus locker room and obviously this one too.

So I just thought I didn't reach out and try
to hop on and kick it with you guys.

Nashville's newest Resident's right, I'm excited. He's looking for a
spot on Mitch's flag football team.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
I mean, he's a D one athlete, one athlete. We're
gonna have you right the we'll scheme it up later. Sorry.

I love that for y'all. I feel like you guys
need that kind of juice.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Oh absolutely, we had a We had a guy that
played at Miami Ohio, Ryan Mickwood, but he uh, he
played with us for a little bit, but then he
got too big time, so he doesn't play this anymore.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Are you all suspended for for good now or.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
Oh no, that was just one game, one game, deal,
game deal.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
I was back two weeks ago.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
We our team forfeited, or the team we were supposed
to play against this past Friday forfeited. This week, we
have a bye. So it's gonna be like a three
week going into playoffs.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
You're trying to ice you before playoffs. I know they
some woman get yeah, hey, we'll start with the D one.
I message you on the side. Had you think of
some things?

Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:30):
When Tom Edwards was on the podcast, he shared a
great story. He was a backup a linement on Tennessee
and he had a blockbud to pre one time Jack
was a linebacker. Will Compton ask probably maybe a little
bit more athletic, I mean, arguably arguably the fun time.
What's the forty time?

Speaker 2 (02:51):
I don't know, I've never really riten that, but I'm
sure for real, yeah recently, not really in college for all.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
But I don't know, what are some of your great
your great stories. I know you guys have played at Auburn.
I think you played at Tennessee.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Yeah, I played at Tennessee, Georgia.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Play you played against cam Ward Yeah, when he was
with Miami.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Or I did play Diego last year Kim McConnell, Kate McConnell, Yeah,
which the atmosphere stands out again Tennessee. That was my
first ever college game play.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
I was like, I was that twenty twenty two, your
first college.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Game, my Tennessee game. Yeah, twenty twenty two.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
I remember that game.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Yeah, ass whooping for sure. Yeah, I mean, come on.
That's the thing about G five, Like I know Taylor
can probably he's just been perfect for this start right here.
He hates you know whatever, but uh yeah, I mean
the weird thing about playing those games, like they're obviously
like we're getting money for him, but like at the
beginning of the week and leading up in the Austin

like you know, you're getting your ass kicked, but uh.

What's like the coach speech.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Yeah, that's the thing. Like the coaches all week, like
they start like manipulating your mind. They're like, you know what,
maybe we can win, like maybe you can cover you
like like we have a shot. And then it's like
you're getting warm up, You're like getting hype and everything,
and then ball snap's like all right, yeah, over it sucks.
Did you have like the longest four hours? It does
time does not take like real, it's it's horrible.

Did y'all which team? Did y'all go in feeling like
you had the best chance to.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Be I don't want to if people come for me,
but like Honestly, last year of Vanderbilt, I feel like
we were we had I not had them, but we
were close. Yeah, it was relatively close for a little bit,
and so I was like, yeah, that was probably the
one we had the best shot. I feel like, especially
I think they're coming off with Bam of the week before,
so we were like, all right, maybe we can catch

them in a little you know, like looking over us
and whatnot. So that's kind of that's.

A that's a great answer. Yeah, oh the only answer
in my book.

But that's a little bro But well, yeah, you're not
wearing the tank top anymore? Is that for the rest
the year?

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Yeah, if you, thank you. I appreciate that. If anyone's
wondering why I'm not wearing a red tank top, which
I bet there's maybe half of a person who's thoughts that, Uh,
we finally are at the end of me and Garrett's
bet when Tennessee and Alabama played each other, we bet
loser had to wear a wife beater for the remainder
of the season. I didn't bring one the first week,
and there just happened to be this random Budweiser tank

So happy to probably never put that on again and
today I'm a little chilly in here for the first
time in a while.

Then y'all didn't record the last couple of weeks of December, right, No,
we didn't.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
We missed Christmas week in the New Year's week, So
this is our first first episode back.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Because we've been missing you. You've been preference. I've been
missing y'all. We just had Jared Beeman one night only
as Zanies last night, Jared, what is you gotta? You
gotta walk us through the whole event pre pregame, pre show,
during show, post show.

Speaker 2 (05:54):

Speaker 6 (05:54):
Right now, this is awkward because I've like talked to
y'all so much, but I'll talk to you since I've
been telling them for sure. Yeah, y'all butt in too,
because I don't want to like just ramble about this.
Uh yeah, as y'all know, like this bet that me
and Taylor made if I didn't get a six pack
by New Year's I did do twenty minutes to stand up.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
If I got a six pack, he would give me
five grand. Didn't get the six.

Speaker 6 (06:13):
Pack, obviously, and he even confirmed last night because I
asked him after the show on my podcast. Uh with
Sharan was on as a guest and I brought up
the bet, and I dumbly was like, Taylor's not gonna
follow through with this. He's not a man of his word,
Like this is too beneath him to do.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Taylor, did any of y'all send that to him?

Speaker 6 (06:31):
Now that that's over? He said that he watched my
podcast on his own, which I don't believe it was
an hour in.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
He said that a couple of times now, and I
think he actually is going I believe I quiz.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
I was like, so what happened earlier in the episode,
and he knew and he doesn't watch Make It to Midnight,
but yeah.

Speaker 6 (06:49):
He like watched it, took it as a challenge. He
made the bet happen. I asked him last night. I
was like, if I never talked about it when the
show have happened, He's like, absolutely not. It's like you
were right, and he's like until I saw it, He's like,
I would for completely forgotten about this. He's it would
have been like January twentieth, and that would have been like, oh, yeah,
you supposed to a show. Yeah, but yeah it was
I've been in hell for like two months while it's

been planning it. I kind of got comfortable, like all
the guys here have kind of helped me write it
and like give me notes and stuff and like other
comedians and stuff. But the two days before I was
a fucking train wreck here and like I like didn't
eat for two days. I like didn't talk. I mean
I think I talked to you a little bit, but
like you were miserable. Yeah, my friends and family came
in town, and like I felt so rude, just like

I just.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Didn't want to talk to anyone. I was like, just
like I don't know.

Speaker 6 (07:34):
I equated it to like I never played sports, so
I've never had a game that I'm nervous about, and
I think this is the closest comparison.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Probably more nerve wrecking to be hot, like probably going
and playing in a big stadium.

Speaker 6 (07:45):
But yeah, exactly, like I just never had that. And
I was talking to Taylor Body, He's like, yeah, I
mean that makes sense, like you've never had something like
to you're anticipating or whatever, but.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
You were asking yesterday is there anything I can do
to get out of this?

Speaker 6 (07:57):
And that was like kind of like a like just
trying to tap like any anything we can do to
make this show to happen, Like we can just get
another comedian to like JP was, I'm kind of going
all over the place. JP was sitting with me backstage,
like right before I went on, uh, like in the
minutes leading up to it, and just just like I
feel like I was just having like a panic attack
out loud or was.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
It more of like sitting silence and you're just kind
of deserving.

Speaker 6 (08:17):
Yes, I said that earlier. Yeah, Mackenzie, my very beautiful,
supportive girlfriend. I love you so much. She was doing
a very supportive job of sitting with side me and
be like you're gonna do so great. I like when
I'm stressed, like I don't want to hear anything. And
I asked her to stay back there. I was like,
you sit with me. I was like, I'm not trying
to be rude. I was like, can you just go back?
I was like, this is stressing me out more. I

(08:38):
love her, but I was like, I asked for this,
but I hate this right now. I was like, I
just want to be in dead silence in here. So
then she goes back out and then JP comes in
I think to film the walk out, and then JP
was at the perfect level of like I had an
ear to.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Like then too.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
I was just like, dude, t I to cut this joke,
But you think, like I could just cut this whole
page right now, and you didn't even have to respond
to him because he was already gonna move on to
the next question. So just now your head like I
don't know.

Speaker 6 (09:01):
And then if I got blacked out, like I don't
remember anything before the show, did you want to throw
up at all? Like, dude, I took so much knowledge
of medicines, really, like I oded on.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
He asked him like at two PM for something.

Speaker 6 (09:11):
Yeah, yeah, my mom since she was in town. She
came by with it and just hooked me up with it.
I was just taking them all day.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
I think coffee was a turning point for you to
a little bit with the other comedian that opened Wait
say that again. I'm sorry coffee that you grabbed like
a week before the show. Oh yeah, shout out Lee Kimberle.
This did he He was hilarious.

Speaker 6 (09:31):
Don't the guy he was tours with, THEO dude, the
nicest dude on earth. He I hit all the comedians
up when we booked them. These super talented comedians and
I just felt I sent them all d just like, hey,
this just feels disrespectful that you're in this show. I
want you to notice the punishment. Like I'm this just
feels weird, like y'all see me bomb and open mics
and now it's like.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
You want to be want to open for me?

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Yeah? Felt weird.

Speaker 6 (09:53):
Leave responses I do like that, Like it's cool, and
let's go get coffee, like I want to talk to
you and like hear your thoughts.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
I know you're play spiraling.

Speaker 6 (10:01):
And we went and got coffee and like ten minutes in,
I'm just like rambling to him. I was like, dude,
I'm sorry, this is like a therapy session. He's like
that's what I thought it would be, and then he
went and ordered a second coffee that we're gonna be
here for a while, and then we stayed like two
and a half hours and just talked and he gave
me like such good advice and just like listen to.

Me for like two and a half hours.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
It seems like a really good I think he's just
a good ass dude.

Speaker 6 (10:22):
He like, I mean, I don't know if this is
too much that he wouldn't want me to say, like,
you know, in THEO, Vaughn like did you see the
viral stuff when he like was recording his special and
he like kind of spiraled. Lee was the opener before that,
and Lee was like there for THEO during that and
was like like when THEO had to go back because
like something was happening, like they sent Lee back out,

like he's like the sickest dude ever.

But he was awesome.

Yeah.

He I don't think I would have not that I
wouldn't have done the show, but he was a huge
difference getting to talk to him, uh before it.

Gotta know what the feeling was when you When Taylor
did introduce you in the whole crowd was going nuts. Yeah,
because I was right behind you filming it, and my
heart is pumping. Yeah, we ran into each other, dude.
I feel I wonder if y'all would do this.

In my head, all I'm thinking about, like a couple
of minutes before, like once I realized like, oh that
dude's going down, like I have to walk up there,
all I'm thinking about is like what am I gonna
right place?

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Notebook? Beer?

Like you know what I mean?

Speaker 6 (11:18):
I'm like, like, all I was worried about was like
where do I put my stuff? Because I was like
what if I put my notebook in the I was
just freaking out. And then when I got up there, dude,
it was like, I don't know what word to describe it.
Before it a feeling that no human deserves.

The lights were fired and many many Men was playing
and the fucking light show.

Yeah, you gott to tell him about the lights, yeh.

Before the show, the guy comes in to ask us
all the logistical questions about me going on. He's like,
what walk up song do you want? I'm like, I
don't know walk up song. He's like all the other
comedians are gonna have walk up songs, Like what do
you want? I was like many men.

Speaker 6 (11:58):
And then he's like, what do you want of lights
to look like? I guess I don't know if people
have preferences. And then Clump, Jeremy Clump just butts and
he's like, hey man, do you do the lights?

Speaker 3 (12:07):
And he's like yeah.

Speaker 6 (12:07):
He's like if there's ever been some experimental ship you
ever want to try out.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
They won't let you do, like do that ship? Like
just do the craziest ship you ever seen it? Yeah,
I'll do whatever.

It was sick.

I just I just watched the video. It's like, yeah,
with Dave Chappelle walking out, dude, lights and nuts, crowds
standing up.

Speaker 7 (12:29):
You didn't have a you had a swag DApp with Taylor. Yeah,
put the notebook down, set the beer down.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
I thought about that so hard. How are we doing?

Speaker 6 (12:38):
Like oh my god, so funny because like you have
your first words planned out and it was not like
how are we doing or whatever?

Speaker 3 (12:44):
I said, Yeah, that was brutal, but it is weird,
like I don't know if I came on here after
I did my first open mic, I don't remember remember, but.

Speaker 6 (12:53):
It was like nerve, nerve, nerve, Like this second you
shake the host hand, it's just like goes away weirdly,
like the first of my legs like shait. Until I
got up there, it was like gone.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
It was like it looks comfortable. Have that like nervous
voice energy where yeah, you're physically okay, but you can
tell you I think.

Literally like it's just like getting a word out and
then once you realize it's not shaky, you're like okay, good.

But the whole night between bits and whether they ran
longer shorter than them, it was just like a continuous flow.

I loved that you would laugh going into yolks because

To say the the fand a thing to Taylor, like
to his face was just like.

Oh my god, and hear everybody else just die laughing,
because I was like, if nothing else gets to laughing,
this has to get a last. It was perfect just
looking at him in the eyes.

Great thing. God, they have been clapped. I got like
five minutes of nothing.

We were up in the balcony here like some almost
where I know a lot of these guys were floating
around filming the show. I was sitting at a table
watching and at one point I looked at my left
and your mom she was she had been standing the
entire she never said, she's just standing watching and she's
like She's so proud. Her eyes like you can almost
see like a glimmer off them, Like she was like
happy crying. Yeah, and it was just the sweetest moment ever.

Your dad's chopping it up with everyone. Five minutes where
the show starts. He walked by me after he'd already
talking and goes, let's go.

I am like, hey, I like that's a pretty sweet jersey.
I think you were probably doing the same thing. It's like, yeah, like,
is Clay coming, Like, I don't think so.

we asked him to.

But I was like, Delaney would have loved being there.

They started cooking me.

After the first The first girl was like, Jared looks
like the guy that wants to go last. At the

though we hear them say your name the monitors. When
she said my name was like I walked up and
listened to it and then walk away.

All I could hear was Shirm's laugh to the one.

Pretty much all her rose were like the first two
were pretty much.

Like he's not even fat?

Yeah, and then yeah, I think the worst one was
you said eighty is hilarious.

All of them, she was funny, so funny. Yeah, it's funny.

Yeah, for sure, I do think it's funny when a
girl can get a group of guys like that uncomfortable.

when she was like and I'm a teacher, I was like, Yo,
that is freaking Was.

She the one I'm not trying to keep up repeating
their drugs? Was she the one that walked on stage
after Taylor and was like give it up for whoever
the fun.

We heard that.

As I said, we were dying at that. She was, yeah,
they all did a.

Good The last guy that he came out firing just
so he doesn't stopped moving, and he was great. He
was on barstool Idol when I, uh, when I interned
there him and a comedian friend of his Ali, I think,
but yeah, because I was like talking to back stages,
like you definitely don't remember this, but I was like,
I edited like some of your videos like three days

while you're on the show, and he's like, oh yeah,
but yeah the other part start that was like, oh yeah,
I realized where this is going.

And then there's he was funny though, yes.

He was like I'm so joke.

He's like, I'm so pissed is the one that always
gets the most last, and it's like it's.

But I was starting to formulate a question in my
head because the black guy actually made this joke. He
was like, oh, yeah, Jared's punishment is actually what I belive.
It's like how gay is that? And uh, But at
the end, I was just like a lot of comedians
here have built their whole lives around these careers, and

Vegas on Thursday afternoon we were just gonna hop on

But now and again this is already on Thursday. We
land at four forty and the next flight that we
have to take out of Arizona to go to Vegas

is at six pm, so it's a twenty minute drive
near the airport. It's that gives us an hour to
get through security in two of their I don't doubt
we can't make it, but rush hour too probably. Yeah,
so works out because Taylor's don't even going to the
game anymore. The whole plane was he was gonna go
to the first half then fly to Vegas that night,
but now he can't get credentialed or whatever it is,

so it'll be interesting. I'm very excited to be able
to fly private across the country because it'll be much
more comfortable and quicker, not having to go through security
and all that jazz.
