Speaker 1 (00:01):
Call It what It Is with Jessica Capshaw and Camille Luddington,
an iHeartRadio podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Well, Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello, call.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
It crew, and welcome to another episode of Short and
Sweet Treatment or Torture. I just dove write in because
I just liked I liked the wording of this, liked
a log line.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
I did the things we do. I mean in the
name of beauty, in the name of health, wellness, treatment
or torture.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
So there are so many beauty treatments available out there
to look better or feel better. And we have all
been there, naked under a paper sheet.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
I actually like a cozy duvet.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Who gives you a cozy duvet?

Speaker 2 (00:57):
You get naked under a paper sheet, naked under a
paper shoe. Not for a beauty.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Treatment, No, I haven't yet, but you know, the duvet
for a beauty treatment.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
What are you get a little facial you.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Get a duvet?

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Heck yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
When I got to Nicole Caroline, I just it's almost
like a It's like it's like this beautiful.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Almost like a massage shaped. Yes, it's like the fluffiest
facial bed in the world. Oh my goodness, leave me there.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
All right, Well, everyone name check that yeah. Yeah, So
everyone's doing all different things and let's talk. Let's dive
in a little bit. Can I start with something. I
want to start with the beauty treatment that you recommended
to me, Okay, and you I did not really understand
that you had a high pain tolerance, and I've since

(01:49):
found out that mine is rather low. And I went
in for an ipl because you said it's so what
that is is it's a little laser and you go
in and it's sort of sun damage for your sun damage, right,
And I had like lots of little you know in British,
got some freckles and you're like, I love it.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
I love the freckles honestly.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Can I tell you it's taken off enough of my
freckles that I now use a freckle pen.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Pause there, I want a freckle pen, do you? Yes?

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Yeah, you gotta draw a little freckles on.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
I just do it on you send me a link
to whatever one you like. Sure, basically get rid of
them and then put them back on.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Yes, but it does like brighten your skin, but you're like,
it kind of feels like a little elastic band, like
you know, popping on your skin. It's like Okay, you
wants goal, so I go to the place that you
recommend and they are amazing, but my pain tolerance is
not yours.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
So Kamala Ludington felt like it was maybe like matches
being put out on her skin instead of our bands
being flicked.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
I felt like it was like I was a fireworks show. Yeah, okay,
like little explosions everywhere, and it's I find it so painful,
and it made me realize that that's not even considered
like a deep laser.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
No, gosh, they can get hardcore.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
They always asked me if I went numbing cream, and
I've done it both ways, but recently I do this thing.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
I basically do an ipl yearly.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
I got a lot of sunspots and a lot of
sun damage when I was pregnant, because you're much more
photo sensitive when you're pregnant, so I would my chest
and my face would get a lot of spots, so
I would get them yearly. Anyways, I've done it without
like this they put kind of like a light.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Can you do it without the lighta king?

Speaker 2 (03:28):
I have done it both ways. I got a little
cocky about my high tolerance for pain. Yeah, and I
went to go get mine this year, and I was like,
I don't need it on fie. I had to hold up.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
I was like, she.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Started, and I was like, hold up, we're gonna I'm
gonna just we're gonna admit defeat here right away, and
I'm gonna say, let's go get.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
That light a king whoa, Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Yeah. Yeah. So maybe my high tolerance for pain is waning.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Have you writt done laser hair removal? Because I heard
that is a situation too.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
No, I have never done that. I'm not a super
hairy person.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
No, me neither. But some people just like to, you know,
have a little zap stap.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Although I will tell you this is just this is
not a great story to report. I got a bikini
ax recently, and I'm normally like the type that gets
on the phone while that's happening, just like yeah, go
like do your face, no.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Feel free, I don't mind it, don't worry.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
I'm distracting myself. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
So you know, you're like, and she just tells me,
she gives me the cues, right, it's like straight down.
And then by the end, you know, you're like, she's
a happy baby, and you're like, Okay, this is so bizarre.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Bikini acxes are bizarre just in general. Whatever I don't.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Pay attention is the point I get it from the table.
I ended up running and meeting the kids. We end
up going to the beach. Total roky mistake. I got
in the ocean, which is all saltwater like.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
It was a moment.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
It was a shocking moment of just uh, stinging, and
I was like, oh, so anyways, I come home, I
go to took a.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Shower and I looked down and I was like, yeah,
I got it.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
I clearly need to check work afterwards because.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
My situation was left of center. It was not a yeah.
It just wasn't it. It was not a symmetrical job.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
It wasn't I don't know. She was literally off the mark.
That's uh, that really sucks. I mean, what do you do.
You just gotta wait for regrowth to to on one
side in particular, just to really.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Yeah, it was a left leaning situation.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
It was a tower of Pisa. You know, maybe that's
when she's home. When she was doing it, she was like,
you know what, I'm gonna make this a little European.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
She's like this, She's like this girl isn't even paying attention.
I could do whatever.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
He was like, what the fuck?

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Ever?

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Yeah, next time, bring like the measuring tape, you know,
like you do things when you're like when you're when
you're hanging like a thing, when you're hanging a frame.
And then yeah, on top, that tells you've been centered.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Yeah bring that. Yeah, a little leveler.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Yeah, you bring a leveler on top, you stand up,
put it on Top's not level.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
I need to need to redo.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Yeah. But I was faced with the question then of
like do you do you attempt to write it? Do
you just go for broke and do a reset?

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Do you like?

Speaker 1 (06:33):
What is?

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Anyways? I'm too lazy and I don't have enough time
to revisit. So this is how we're rolling for a while.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
I think you go to someone new. I think that's
what you do.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
You definitely we're at for a minute.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
So yeah, so that's a bikini the bikini wack situation.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
I've done the lasers. Have you ever done a vampire facial?

Speaker 3 (06:53):
Never?

Speaker 2 (06:55):
I've done that, have you?

Speaker 3 (06:57):
That's where they spin your blood, right.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Well, they take out your blood, then they spin it and.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Get platelets out of it or something, and then they
kind of do like a micro needling situation.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
And that I've never had micro needling.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
I've only done it a couple I've like done it
a couple of times. I'm always game to try all
that stuff.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Is it ola therapy, eula therapy, all therapy, all therapy?
I don't why haven't done it? But I hear it's
like it's so good, legonds, it's so uh that like
does it like a beautiful lift?

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Right? I heard that's not I heard that's not a
good thing to do.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Oh really, I heard it's also very painful.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Mean, we need to call Vanessa.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
We do need to call Vanessa. Okay, is there a
treatment you're saving for the future that you've heard about
and it scares you? Yeah, it's called a deep plane facelift.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Scares the ship at of me?

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Oh please, I don't know. Together really, everyone's looking great, and.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
I hear you, who literally can't handle an ipl is
telling me that I need to buckle up and just
get well.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
You're under that plane, faceless.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
You're under for that now.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
It cominds me of John Travolta movie called Face Off.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
It just I don't like.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
It, But you know what I used to I used
to feel like, you know, I'm just going to age
like totally naturally. And then I'm like now in my
forties and I'm like, no, whenever I need that, like,
hoist me in there, ready to go. Okay, have you

(08:47):
done any treatments that left you unexpectedly hiding out in
your house? You're no long recovery? Someone asks, no, no,
hm hm uh huh. An ipl actually does like really
make it burn.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
But I'm at dinner that night like I'm just I'm
just stealing ice cubes from my water.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Yes, I'm swollen, like it looks like I've eaten sushi
for the past year.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
I did a podcast the next day after that, and
it is what it is. You know what I cannot do,
Like I don't understand it is a cold plunge.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Oh yeah, I.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
I weirdly I thought i'd be terrible at it. I'm
weirdly not all that bothered by it. But I definitely
don't run towards it. It's not like something I can't
wait to do. It's just that once I am in it,
I'm not like I'm.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Not counting the seconds. I'm like, I'm cool.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Really, yeah, I think i'd be counting the seconds. I
see those people on social media and they're like I
wake up in the morning and I journal and then
I cold plunge and I'm like, you what those people
every day?

Speaker 2 (09:59):
Whatever? Are they real? It feels like AI, maybe they are.
How about self tanning?

Speaker 3 (10:06):
I just got a seft tan last week, loved it.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Do you do the spray?

Speaker 3 (10:11):
I did a spray tan. I did a versus and
I have not been I went into this place and
I was like, They're like, what's your name? Like, listen,
I haven't been here for years. They still had my
my treatment bundle, my treatment bundle from twenty nineteen, and
so I got a free spray tan. It's Floodington of
nineteen Surprise Surpress, Surpress surpress. I do love a spray tan,

(10:35):
but never ever is it not patchy on me. For
some reason, my calfs will not take the tan.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
I've seen this on you.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Oh now it comes out. Thanks for fucking helping me.
What do you mean You're like, Oh, I'm definitely that's
that's your legs. Well bring up Bronzer next time, dude,
and help me.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
You really get out my exfoliating mitt What do you
want to put up? Like it's not terrible. It's not terrible.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
I just when you said that, I understand because it
also happens to the rest of us.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Listen.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
Most of the time, it's like I get like spaghetti
face where it concentrates, it looks like it's just really
funny it does.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
It looks like you just said, like a big bull
of spahetti.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
And then I also, I mean, your first giveaways are
your knuckles, your hate out in between, like all of
a sudden you have webs webbed fingers, and there's like
you know, palements in between, and then wrists always at
the wrists.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
A straight line.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Oh yeah, worst, I've had to really perfect that little
buffing motion you do at the end.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
And then elbows, knees, and feet. Those are tough spots
for self tanning.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
Those are very tough spots. Have you ever walked out
of like a spa or clinic and actually regretted it immediately,
been like that, I should not have done that.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Oh, that's a good question.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
I haven't done that yet. I've done that with my hair.
I've rocked out of a salon and been like that
was yeah, you were gone like gray highlights before like hey, oh, dude.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
I've never Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
I think it's because I've never done anything that was
like irreversible, but where I would.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Be like, what did I do?

Speaker 1 (12:18):
I think that's why I'm afraid of the surgery stuff,
Like I think there's especially your face, like I'm worried.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
I'm worried. It just makes me worried, Kimilla, because you
can't change it. If it's done, it's done.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Wait, Jessica, what I just heard about a new treatment
like two weeks ago, because it's on a show that
you don't watch, The Valley, which you should watch, Scarrow Talks.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
If this has to do with scrotum and botox, it
is what is wrong when the Scrow talk it's botox
for your balls, like it makes them smother.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
I'm done. I'm not kidding.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Let's call it the end of the EP.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
No, we're not.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Calling it yet.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
We are not calling it scrow Talks.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Who are we right now? Scrow Talks.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
Okay, I've looked it up. Scrow Talks, also known as
scrotal botox or sqrotum ankle di wrinkle injections, is a
cosmetic procedure that involves injecting botox into the scrotum.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Oh my god, I'm just.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
A little confused because because like, as a guy, are
you looking down there and thinking, like, God, I wish
that was smoother When we have mat on we need
to talk about scrow talks. I'm telling you right now,
it's popping off, popping off people. Are people are in

(13:38):
line for this? I don't really know if they are,
but I heard about this.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
So I did ask during a bikini wax session where
I clearly wasn't just looking at my phone and rather
more engaged. I remember saying to her, what's your ratio
of male to female?

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Yeah, I was surprised by the answer.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Well, it wasn't nine percent women and ten percent men.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
It was more like fifty five percent women forty five
percent men.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
And I was like.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Really, and and you know you gotta be I think
mostly it's a little forty year old version.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
It's like chest and back type waxing. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Because I was picturing just now, like is there some
sort of like downstairs situation where they're they're you know,
it's a it's a it's a heart shape.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Or left of center or therapisa's leaning to Apisa well,
I mean I think that manscaping is real.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
No, I agree with you, but it's like shoulders and
stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Okay, that just that's interesting to me.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
Okay, if you if called it through anyone has had
scrow talks.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
We want to.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Hear from you, I really do. I want to know
if now you're like God, that's what I needed. I
also want to know if you had any numbing situation,
if it hurts, and why, like are you I don't know.
I have so many questions, but we actually need to
have someone just FaceTime in while they're getting square dogs. Okay,

(15:06):
I do agree. We can call it.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
My brain left my body.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
I know about it. I know I do. This is
where we leave it. This say is this is the
perfect spot I must day.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
I'm happy, happy to leave it here.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
Okay, let's call it the end of the episode.
