Speaker 1 (00:00):
Call It What It Is with Jessica Capshaw and Camille Luddington,
an iHeartRadio podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
I can't quite believe it, and time evidently just keeps
on rolling by and goes faster and faster each year.
But we are here at the marker of our one
year anniversary for Call It What It Is.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
It's been so much fun and it's so crazy.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
But at this one year marker, we are separated and
because of a bunch of different work circumstances, not.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Able to be together.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
So we were able to talk on the phone, but
we are recording our own separate messages to you all.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
And so as we've been thinking.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Back on our year with you all, we have asked
ourselves a couple questions and I wanted to give you
guys my answers. So starting with the hardest, I was
thinking about the hardest episode that we've ever done, and
I was thinking how lucky I am that none of
them were hard. The hardest part for us is, I

(01:13):
think later on as we're going through the episode, because
we we you know, over the year, we've figured out
how to bring our most authentic selves to you all
and really have you be like a fly on the wall, and.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
In order to do that, we sort of just you know, completely,
like give it our all.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
I feel like our most memorable guest would have been
our first guest because I was so nervous. I was
standing in the iHeartRadio podcast recording room and I was
truly having to do some some deep breathing exercises and
grounding myself before Miss Mandy.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Moore came on.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
And then she was so kind and so wonderful, and
then we were kind of.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Off to the races. But I am.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Interested in covering, you know, just more and more and
more and continuing to be really receptive to you all
and what you all want to talk about and hear
about and.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Go with that.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
So the relationship that we have with you all and
through our social platforms and you giving us what you
want to talk about has actually been I think the
coolest part because it feels like we actually have a
back and forth in a real relationship.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
And I think that we've all earned that. Right in
the beginning, I'm.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Sure everybody was like, who are these girls coming out
of nowhere?

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Who are these women?

Speaker 2 (02:31):
And I think that it's been really great to you know,
from word of mouth or you know, the socials or whatever,
creating a bigger and bigger friendship circle. And I think
that that's what we really wanted and it's been really
very it's been very heartening to see as it's grown,

(02:52):
and that is absolutely due to you all. If I
could time travel to episode one, I think I would
tell myself to trust. I think that that's what we've
earned for ourselves a little bit more in this year,
is just trusting yourself that you're not going to say
something you know ridiculous, or that you're not going to

(03:13):
say something embarrassing, or that you're not going to you're
not going to say.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Too much right.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
I would say that the three words I would use
to describe the first year of podcasting have.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Been growth, compelling, and inspiring. I would say that.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
What I've learned about Camilla through making a podcast together
is just how I just how much I love her.
But seeing her in her work element outside of just
being in a scene opposite her, has been really interesting
and has been very.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Very cool.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Like it sounds so nondescript, but it's just she's so
good at things I didn't even know she was so
good at, you know, she almost completely took over the
art direction of our our marketing promo shoots, and.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
She just crushed it.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
And she just had a vision and she knew what
she wanted and and I just kind of came as
a prop.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
But I've loved that she's been so.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Full of ideas and good at things I didn't know
she was good at, and dedicated. Both of us have
just been very I think I've been surprised by our uh,
our ability to make time where there kind of isn't
and create the time and space to be with each
other and to you know, have all these different sessions

(04:37):
where we're brainstorming about the ideas and then the research
and then the reading and then the doing and.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
All that, and so it's been uh, it's been a great.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Uh, it's been a great experience to have that extra
time with each other.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
And in a.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Different way anyways, I thank you all very much for
being here with us on this journey in our podcast era,
and uh, I I can only hope that there's more
and more and more, and thank you for giving it
to us and trusting us with your stories and your thoughts.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
And we love you so so so so much. Thank you.
Have you one year
