Speaker 1 (00:00):
Don't wish it away. Enjoy yourself. I didn't get married
till my late thirties. I would die for that mid
thirties face again. Just enjoy living in that tightness. Calm
Down with Erin and Carissa is a production of iHeartRadio

(00:22):
Week one in the books. I've got some nasal thing.
You look incredible. I've been in against six forty five.
You know.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
I just put on some makeup.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
I've had a morning and do not say out loud
with the b I have been feeling under the weather,
but I'm totally fine because I'm back and it is
week one. As Aaron just said, I have the dominie
blowout from yesterday and I'm gonna try to make the
hair lasts as long as possible. I used to wash
another reason it fell out. I used to wash it
every single day.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Thank god.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Now dry shampoo. Now we're trying to make that thing
go a week. All right, First up, I'll go can
we just okay?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
I know you hate it. We'll bring this up. I
always have.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Pregame footage pregame coverage for Monday night football on, but
I know this is the pregame and we'll talk about
it in the Big Show. I'm seeing the bottom of
the ticker and it says Russell Wilson to remain starter
for week two?

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Yeah what because Brian Dable, what are we doing? Why?

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Sometimes is media I get so embarrassed, like why are
we doing this? Because he's the fuck He's won a
Super Bowl, Like it's over in reaction Monday for the Lions.
The Lions are over the Russell Wilson shouldn't be the
starter anymore. Aaron Rodgers is the MVP. I mean, take

(01:43):
it whichever way you want to go. There are so
many headlines come Monday after the first week of the season, which,
by the way, shout out and we'll get we can
get into all that on the Big Show.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Let's just wait for it.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
But Aaron, this is what I don't like, which says
when we record this podcast, my TV's on behind me
so I can't see it.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
She sees it out of the.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Doing a little look of rusky at things, a little
luky loop.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Okay. Pregame questions, Guys, we love when you write in.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Thank you so much for doing that, Kaylee kimber One,
do you ever feel like you are missing out on
the normal fan experience?

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Tailgating, et cetera.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
No, I mean no, really no, because I feel like
I have the I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
I mean no, I don't. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Maybe the drinking and like shotgunning in the like talking part, yeah,
at that part. But but I will say, with my
schedule yours, we can always get to a Monday night
game if we really wanted to. Sure, or you could
go to a Thursday night game, No, probably not. Or
Sunday night game. I can sometimes sneak to if it's

(02:48):
like a Rams or Chargers game, and I can go
straight from the studio, so it's not like I can't
go and be a fan at the game. But no,
I would take my front row seat on the set
or on the sidelines like you, or in a studio
any day all day. You are sick, what I want
to talk to you? No, I just have a nasal thing.
This all just started coming on.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Don't worry.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
I popped an ad vocald and sinus not an AD
but I'd love it to be. Matt gave this to me.
This was last week, not great, So wait, what was
I going to show you?

Speaker 2 (03:17):
I fuck, We've had a.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Day a day so third quarter, you know, especially at
and T I'm walking and people just have their beers
hanging out over Then I go like, oh, that looks great.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Because what do you love to do?

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Last night when I got home postgame was on and
the highlights were on. I like to have a glass
of wine and sit and watch it. But No, love
our jobs, best jobs ever, so excited to have it.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Although we'll talk about it in the big show.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Ryan, can you add it to the rundown that I
haven't contributed to. I felt so out of whack, like
it is crazy how we've done this job forever And
I'm like, oh my god, I have your hit in
five minutes and I haven't even like figured out what
I'm gonna say, Like what's going on?

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Have I never like got on a bike before.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Maybe we should do the pregame second when it's the
season because we actually have shit to talk about, because
I have something to add to that too.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
So Ryan, yeah, too.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Ry likes it because we add as we talk about
like you know what I mean, you know what I mean,
you know what I mean? Okay, So to answer your question,
Kaylee Kimber one, No, and you love our jobs all
at the same time, love our jobs with that beer
in the third quarter does look pretty good? Anonymous, Is
that all you sister? Is it weird that my coworker
talks about her love life at meetings?

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Yeah? It will. Here's the thing, how casual.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Are your meetings? And then second of all, here's the thing.
What are we doing at the meeting? Like are we
are we sitting down or we like at our production meeting,
like looking at the graphics, looking at the videos, like
talking about storylines for the games or for where today
we talked about do we want to add a pocket?
We doing with the butt? Like do we want to cough?

(05:02):
Like all this kind of stuff. Yeah, I don't need
to like after after or maybe before I think there's
fill in the blanket kind of what is your workplace
environment overall? Like it like a I work at like
a very fun, young sort of like loosey goosey kind
of place, and there's a time and a place, or

(05:23):
is like if you're in corporate America, that's very like stiff.
Yet now, I don't think we should be talking about
your love life. It just depends on like what your
vibe is, because think about our jobs. We talk about
everything at our jobs, like with the people we work
with because we're on the road with them, Like they
know everything about my life. They know more than they
probably should know about my life. So I think it
depends on your workplace environment. If it's serious and buttoned up,

(05:47):
then keep the personal stuff out of the building for
the happy hour conversations. But if it's kind of light
and fun. Also, it also depends on how much the
person shares where you're like, hey, we don't need to
know all that. We don't need to know the Thomas
Sutra position from last night. No one asked for that.
That is inappropriato and go straight to HR. But also

(06:08):
to know your role by the way, like you know
what I mean?

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Yeah, no role? Yes, where are you in that ORG chart? Sure?
ORG chart?

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Hierarchy in the company? Claire Bergion Berg Again, I'm so
sorry for messing up your last name, but I love
the name Claire. Claire Bergion Tips to your first job
out of college. Wow, let's try this again, Claire Bergion
tips for your first job out of college and had

(06:38):
the best transition out of college life. I clearly need
to go back to reading. You're fine as my first
language English, I would say, we always talked about this,
I would say internships. Internships are always the number one thing,
at least in terms of from I'll speak for myself
from my experience because I didn't go to a broadcasting school,
so I didn't get that. I got all of my

(07:00):
experience on site. And also, take any job you can
that gets you in the building where you want to go,
as well, talked about by myself and documented. My first
job had nothing to do with sports broadcasting, but it
was in the sports building at Fox.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
So take it.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Take the job and run with it and work your
way up you I didn't get any jobs right at
a school. I applied for a bunch and didn't get them.
And then the one that I wanted right away, I
had to wait a minute for it, and that was
the ringside reporter for the Lightning, which ended up being
the best decision I ever made. But my dad told

(07:37):
me this, especially especially I don't know if this is
a sports broadcasting question or not. My dad told me,
if you want to be in front of the camera,
apply for a job in front of the camera. A
lot of them were, Hey, you could be the executive
producer of the six o'clock show in Waco, Texas, and
my dad's like, don't apply for it because that's not

(07:58):
how you're going to get your foot in the door
if you want to be on camera.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
So whatever, people have to think about it. But I
love your I.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Ended up freelancing, actually lance for Sunshine Network. I freelanced
for my dad station. I freelanced for an NBC affiliate
in Orlando. I did some Orlando I did some magic stuff.
Tracy McGrady so cute, and that was the job you wanted.
It didn't get what places. It was local like local news. Yeah,

(08:26):
did you have to end down? So glad at uh
all of you young aspiring broadcasters. You live in the
digital world, so you don't have to do this. We
had to, Tracy, dv Mine was on baits a DVD, DHS,
VHS okay so VHS DVD, sometimes DVC pro, depending on
where you were sending it to.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
But yeah, your resume.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
My reel was on a DVD and you sent it
out in the first part of my reel was to
get the news director's attention, and I had me as
an eleven year old with the paper towel role in
the tennis well for being a broadcaster so at least
they'd be like, why is are a little kid on
the thing, because they always told me, if you don't
capture their attention in the first ten seconds, they'll just
like fling the tape out.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Of their hand. So that's so oh how times have changed.
But good for you.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
You don't even have any business card. There's so many
more opportunities. Yep, nicked, yeah, Amanda, Maddingly. Twenty two tips
were staying active and eating healthy on the road. Seeing active.

(09:33):
I try to just work out every day. I went
to a Barry's class in Washington. Loved it right by
my hotel, so good. Or I'll go down to the
gym and do like a whole thing there. Eating healthy,
oh is hard. Because we went to Moza in DC.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
It was a time and delish. The Focasha was worth it,
so good. I don't.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
I just really like to enjoy food, but at lunch
because I know I'm going to go for it at
dinner with the boys. I really try to have a
sensible salad if you will, with some protein or crange
juice so I don't get sick.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
And I really try to drink a ton of water
on the road.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Yesterday I didn't eat not a great thing because I'm
not gonna lie in the fourth quarter, I was like,
why do I feel like I'm going to pass out? Yeah, no,
we can't do that. You're usually good about those crustable
things or something.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
It just going down.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Well.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
I took a tack.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
I was all like dry like because it was like
drying everything out. I went to like take a bite
of the crustable. I was having a problem swallowing it.
It was like a thing didn't really have much to
eat for breakfast.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
And then I was like, fourth quarter, I'm about to
pass out.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
I do not like to eat before I go on air,
so I have to I like to chow one o'clock
games are hard. No, I'm not a I'm not an
eat before I go on air. In the studio at Fox,
I'll have afternoon activities.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
But you're for what was the question? Oh, workout rotie.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
If I'm in wherever, whenever I travel with Thursday night,
I'm really good about it. I like to run outside.
I like to run whatever city i'm in. That's like
always been Bay even luckily I was week one. Oh
at that time, I forgot about that. I like walked out.
I was in like some like light wood breaker and
you're like, you're gonna run outside. Yeah that I was like, yeah,

(11:26):
I was, hey, this is a good time for us
to do where by Aaron Andrews here our fit check?

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Mine is one right?

Speaker 1 (11:33):
This is the older ones. Do you guys have a
new version of this one? Because I feel like you do. Yes,
there we go on cue. Okay, okay, let's see this
year's version. Whoa cute? That's so good erin it's always

(11:57):
so cute, so good. So I see it. So the different,
a few more patches on the arms, the larger NFL logo,
and on the back this one had the shield. But yeah,
these are so cute. I noticed Jamie Ah went on
this morning for Good Morning Football. She had on your
blame NFL one.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Just so cute. I see these everywhere. We were watching.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
The opening game the Cowboys Philly Gabe and the wonderful
young lady that was singing one of the versions or
not a version. It was a national anthem or something,
I don't know. It was a song before the game America,
I'm not sure exactly. And she had your jacket on anyways.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
And you're saying cute. You were texting me and You're like,
is that your jacket?

Speaker 1 (12:39):
And I was just so excited a terminal and I
said send it to me, you crazy, and it was.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
It was so cool.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Thanks Mabe, Thanks for everyone that sports wear by your hair,
just because apparently I think I'm on the payroll, but
I really am.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
I love get proud of your stuff.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Oh right, so to answer and oh okay, uh huh,
Katy of seven or what celebrity or athlete gave you
your pinch me or I've made it moment, Aaron, You've
got a good one, A good poppy story on this one,
don't you.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
I feel like you always talk about that.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
I think Poppy did it, though it's not because I've
made it. I just think it's because he's the cutest ever.
I don't know, like I feel like when you get
your first Jeter interview, that's like, holy crap, that's amazing.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
A poppy one. Poppy.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
My first time with ESPN, my first baseball game, they
were like kind of like threw it out there, like
go knock yourself out, kid, Like try to go in
your socks. Yeah, Red Sox World Championship ring before so
we can get on sports Enter and I was like, okay,
this is my team. I walked up to mister Poppy
and I was like, hey, my name is Aaron Andrews.

(13:44):
I'm gonna start covering baseball. Think I could get your ring.
So he's the man.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
And did it.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
So yeah, just things like that. Awesome, what about you?
I know, I feel I don't know. I feel so lucky.
Over the years, I can't remember like my first one
that was like a pinchman. Oh, actually, oh my gosh,
this is not an athlete pinch me moment. This was
I didn't even realize at the time to what degree
this was such an upset. I knew it was a

(14:10):
massive upset, but still to this day it gets brought
up stand by and I can reference.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
It because.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
I can reference it because Aaron gave me this incredible
book for Christmas.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
And look at what pictures? Are you in a picture?

Speaker 1 (14:30):
No, I wish it's the Michigan OHI it's the Michigan
Appalachian State.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
Oh, you did?

Speaker 1 (14:36):
And this was the game I did. This was my
first ever college, first ever sideline game that I ever worked.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
And it's in this book. Steve had opened it the
other day of this picture and I was like, oh
my god, that was my first ever game I worked.
But can you see yourself in it? No?

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Of course I looked like a total narcissist way too.
I was like, am why in the background. But yeah,
it was a very much a pinch me moment, I
think more so now than it even was then, where
it was like I didn't realize how big of an
upset that was going to be, and you know, in
terms of history, but so, yeah, it was awesome. I
think I also had a lot of those moments when
I worked in entertainment, where it was interviewing George Clooney

(15:14):
or Tom Cruise or any of those, like for the
first time on an Oscar's red carpet or Emmy's red carpet.
I was like, holy shit. Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, like
those are Meryl Streep. Meryl Streep and a sit down
interview for like a gump. I walked in the room
and I was like, ah, Meryl Streep. So yeah, those
are definitely moments that are like, I'll say, Meryl Street next,

(15:40):
l M Roads seventy nine, LMR Roads seventy nine. Did
you end up doing yoga with puppies. Now one really
one really had a bad tell me, I know that feeling.
We we ended up going we did go to yoga
with puppies, but we really didn't have time. We were

(16:01):
we were, you know why, because we were hanging. We
were doing what does it go? I call it fellowship.
We were hanging wet a good session of fellowship and incredible.
It turned into one of those things where it was
like just a couple of us, and then a few
more came and we ended up sitting around this table
and gossiping and having a few drinks and just having
the best time. And then we're like, oh my god,
puppy yoga. So we ran over there and we were

(16:24):
disrupting the class, I'm sure, but we sat with the puppies.
They were so cute, which, of course then I want
to take one home, and I'm like, I forget how
hard puppies are. Probably are like newborns, like waking up
every few hours. Yeah, like a two year old, chewing
on everything. Anonymous, I'm a dog mom, yay, in my
mid thirties with a busy career, not seeing anyone, not

(16:45):
sure where to meet good guys these days, but I
am lucky to have a tight knit knit group of
girlfriends who are all married and most have kids. I'm
getting more sad with each year that I'm always at
these dinner's, birthday parties, weddings alone. How do you to
remind yourselves to be grateful for all the good in
your lives, even if even if it's not what you
pictured or not quite where you want to be? All well,

(17:07):
first of all, anonymous, you are exactly where you're supposed
to be. As I always say, I have taken a
journey that has wandered down some dark alleys, and I
could go back and say, oh, I wish I wouldn't
have done that. I wish I wouldn't have done that,
But then it wouldn't have led me to where I
am now. I wouldn't have the perspective that I have.
I wouldn't have the appreciation that I have. I have

(17:28):
a couple good girlfriends that are older than I am,
and some that are younger and are not married, and
I always say to them They're like, well, I know,
but I'm not even married. I'm like, shit, girl, I'm
married twice. How'd that work out? So don't put this
assignment on your life, like oh, I'm supposed to be
married or I'm supposed to have kids. You know, we
always talk about it, and you always emphasize to everyone

(17:49):
if you can freeze your eggs, if you can, you know,
or your employment allows you to that, if that's something
that you want to do down the road. But I
think that there's just and hopefully, I don't know. I
think it's getting better. I don't feel like society puts
so much pressure on women anymore. Where it's like you
have to depending on where you live. I think in
the South, Steve always talks about that it's a little

(18:10):
bit different, like you're supposed to be married by the
time you're twenty two years old and have kids and whatever.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
But I don't know.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
I think there's a greater acceptance, which thank God that
there isn't this timeline that's perfect for everyone. So Anonymous,
I would say to you, you are exactly where you're
supposed to be. And the more pressure you put on
yourself to think that you need to be married or
have kids, the probably harder it's going to be because
you're pressing and then every date you go on, you're
expecting this guy to be the one and if he's not,

(18:36):
then you're disappointed.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
So I don't know.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
I would say, take a deep breath and just know that,
like you're in your mid thirties, sister, you are nice, young, young,
Go live that light. I know I'm jealous. I'm like
aarony and I as every year that gets older. I
don't want to be younger. I'm glad that I have
had the path that I've had, But mid thirties is

(18:58):
very young. So taking a mid thirty face again though, Yeah,
I know I'm trying to get it after surgery. What
was I going to tell you? So mid thirties was one?
Don't wish it away? Please, don't wish it away. Freeze
your eggs so you are just you don't have to
worry about like am I going to be able to
have babies?

Speaker 2 (19:17):
Do it now?

Speaker 1 (19:18):
Mid thirty eggs are great.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
Where do you live? Because I'm to have.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
A guy for you. I got a couple of guys
I got to set up.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
I'm just saying if you want to, if you want
to check back in, I got a couple of single
guys I need to hook up.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
Look, I'm just saying, but saying, we love that saying, yeah,
I don't wish it away. Enjoy yourself. I didn't get
married till my late thirties. I would die for that
mid thirties face again. Just enjoy living in that tightness.
Oh I'm going to say I'm going to say this too.

(19:53):
When you go to those birthday parties or you go
to those weddings and you look around and some of
your friends think that you're going to be divorcing it, sorry,
whoa they are divorced. Well shit, I'm not post a
child for divorce, you know, but I just think this.

(20:14):
They would kill to have your life. Those moments where
they're waking up with their children in the middle of
the night because they're screaming, or that the husband is
bitching about something, or that they have to all these
responsibilities that they have in their life, they probably look
at you and they're like, God, damn, I wish that
I was Susie. I wish that it was Susie. That
all she got to do is walk her dog and
go to work and she gets to be so fun

(20:36):
and so cute, and I want Susie's life. So don't
compare yourself to other people, because they probably want what
you have, and that tight face because yours is tighter
than theirs, because they're dealing with other exactly this morning. Way,
I'll stop it all right. We are off to the races,

(20:56):
and I couldn't be more excited about it. It is
week one in the book after tonight's Monday night football game,
but by the time this thing comes out, I will
be on the road. Aaron is also going to be
on the road for her week two assignment, which at
this point I don't even know what it is. I
can't wait to hear where you're headed. Don't say it
waits for the big show. See you guys Thursday. Calm
