very special one today. You guys have had conversations about

(00:59):
this dude on this Morning Whole nine. But we have
one half of the father son duo. We have George Sadler,
the CEO and co founder of Gelatto Cano. You guys.
Gelatto is a family owned cannabis brand that specializes in
premium flower cartridges, vapes, pre rolls, and edibles. George, along
with his son, co founded the cannabis company Platinum Vape

(01:22):
with his son Cody from the ground up and sold
it for an eight figure sum in twenty twenty. So
you know he's sitting on something pretty over there. They
sold out their dirt bikes in the garage and worked
out of it to build Platinum Vapes into one of
the most successful cannabis companies in California. Launched just fourteen
months ago, they have been growing exponentially and their sales
have outperformed their previous companies. They've also have a Gelatto

(01:46):
dispensary in Lake Elsinore, right there where Erica lives, that
open last summer, which is now one of the most
popular dispensaries in the region, and as cannabis becomes more
prelivent in the society, Gelatto aimes that actually distigmatized cannabis
the whole use without limiting their client tele to just
show stoners and how it always is like, ohser Stones. No,

(02:07):
they're doing something a whole lot different there today. So
you know, let's give them around of applause as they
just recently were at the Hall of Flowers with their
big after party after dark and Santa Rosa. We'll talk
about that too, to launch their new edible last bit,
please welcome to the Cannabis Talk one oh one campus.
George Sandler of Gelato Cannabis, come out hooks.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Wow, I like that. I need to hang out here, man,
I feel so much better than I was driving up here.
If you guys are pump up, where did you drive from?
And you know more than I do about me?

Speaker 4 (02:38):
Who is that guy?

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Wait?

Speaker 4 (02:39):
I think I did something like that? Was that me?
Congratulations on your successors, by the way, and your son, now,
I heard a story that your son was going to college.
Just graduates from college comes home and says, dad, I
think we need to get into this babe cannabis game
and starts that first company with you and him kind
of and You're going to wait a minute, this is
what I sent you to college for.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Well, I mean that was almost one hundred percent correct.
You missed a little tick. He never graduated college.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Oh shit, okay what college?

Speaker 3 (03:06):
He came back on a break he was, I think.
I think the the reality was he was one semester
from finishing. In all honesty, how funny.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
Ready for my random I was one class away from
graduating in nineteen ninety four. Twenty years later, I went
and got my degree as my oldest daughter just graduated
from or she was about to go to college. And
I'm like, I can't be the guy that goes, hey,
I got my degree, where's yours? You know what I mean?
And sure enough? So you know, maybe he'll go back
and get it, or maybe he does enough. You guys
the deal.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Yeah, you mentioned eight figures, and I don't think college
is figuring in there at all exactly, So I don't know.
It just doesn't count to the fact that I, uh,
I was two semesters into my junior year of high
school when I dropped out. No way does that count yeah,
you know, it just it just goes to show that
there was more than one. I never went back. I

(03:55):
did get my ged though.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Oh there you go.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Yeah, yeah, well that's that's so.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
Where are you from, George? Give us a little history.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
I'm actually from Detroit. I was born in Detroit. Yeah,
and I grew up in kind of mix of California
and Upper Michigan. You know, broken family back and forth
and whatnot.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
But we're out in California.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Down in southern California.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Alcoholne oh yeah, alcohol pass.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Yeah, I was talking. I forget who I was talking
with about dirt bikes and yeah, you know, I raced
for a lot of years and and so I grew
up in that kind of mix of misfits on daryls,
misfits and stoners on wheels. Yeah. Crazy. Somehow we got
into like Mike Mike Metzker and whatnot. And it's kind
of ironic because you know, he was he was the

(04:41):
dark guy in the motocross in a back back in
that time. And we have a store in Lake elsono
or my youngest or my youngest, I have an eighteen
month old twin wow. But my my second youngest son
is twenty four, and he goes, man, there's this guy
that comes in comes into the store all the time,
and he's got tat all the way up, you know,
and this and that he's going on. He's like, he's

(05:03):
one of the fucking nicest guys. I go, who is it?
And he goes back. He looks and he's how did the
guy's names like Metzger or something like that, So fucking
Mike Metzger. He's like, yeah, Mike's Metzger. He was the
guys in here. He loves this that. I was like, dude,
that's like what was was one of my idols, even
though I was even though I shouldered to shoulder with him,
you know, you actually ram No, I didn't race with him.

(05:26):
I was the guy that crashed all the time. You know,
if you ever been to the supercross and you see
that one guy that, you know, I guess I could
have been considered like an early on X game guy.
You know. I was flying through the air, the bike
was going here, you're going there, I was going there.
A couple of broken legs, broke my back twice.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Yeah, yeah so hard. Well it looked like it I
did fall hard, But yeah, that was that was. That
was those times.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
Yeah, so the young years, you're going back and forth
from each Troit to California. Where was high school?

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Where it was? Once again it was a mix. I
spent a good majority in Michigan in high school there,
and then I came back out here, and that's where
I found my uh my less of a need for
high school and decided that after my I think it
was my my second month in my junior year, I like,
I'm out. I found out that high school just wasn't

(06:24):
a place for me. Yeah, probably I probably should have finished. Yeah,
well you did, you got your GD I did? I did,
actually exactly.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
That's and and then where where the where did cannabis
come in your life?

Speaker 4 (06:34):
Our platinum bapes first?

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Right, Well, let's see I started, I actually started. Uh
And I don't know if this is one of the
questions down the road, and maybe I'm answering too soon
or something, but my first experience with cannabis was when
I was eleven. Yeah, and my parents were My parents
were very avid as we talked about swingers. Yeah, I

(06:56):
don't know if they were necessarily swingers, but they they
explored a lot and as we were kids, we were
able to witness some of that, but they were very
avid cannabis, uh kind of sewers. Yeah, and and so
I think it was about eleven. It was the first
time that I experienced.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
At a fun party at the house, just like everyone's
hanging out.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Yeah. I think there was probably a roach or two
that I got. My older brothers were the were the
the reason.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
Yeah, and they always are.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Yeah. And from then on I never sniffed gas again.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
Yeah, you just said sniffy remember sniffy glue.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Well, having having motorcycles, growing up in a motorcycle family,
you would once in a while you'd lean on a
gas tank and take a couple of extra you know,
make sure there was gas in there. It would get
real sparkly. That's for you guys out there. No, no,
I highly don't recommend that at all. That may be
a good reason why I never finished high school as well, man,
But yeah, that.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
May be the reason gassy braid over there it.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Was, I promise. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:59):
So how did we How do we come up with
platinum vape?

Speaker 3 (08:01):
That's probably the best. So, I mean it's a long story.
I know you guys have a lot of time, but
probably not that much time. But you know, we started
growing six plants in a garage in Olklahoma, ironically, and
we couldn't sell. What how we ended up growing successfully

(08:22):
on that first run. I have no idea because we
did everything wrong, but we did. We couldn't sell because
at that time, there wasn't a lot of brick and mortar.
It was mostly delivery service, sure, and so we call
people up and say, hey, you know, we got some weed,
you know, and they click, fuck you cops. You know,
we'll sit there, wait a second. No, we got so

(08:44):
we we literally started delivery service and the first thing
we did was contact weed Maps and get a spot
on weed Maps. And it took us about I think
it was like twenty days before we had our first order.
And then within six months we were doing eighty to
one hundred deliveries a day. And we multiple this is
back when, back when it was like the thirteen thirteen

(09:05):
years doing business as a mutual benefit organization. Yeah, Nature's Leaf,
Nature's Leaf Incorporated. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was. I was
Village Flora Okay, yeah, yeah, and everything was about the patient,
you know, oh yeah, it really was. And I was.
And it's funny because I was listening to a podcast.
One of the best ones that I've listened to on
your guys' stuff was Buddies. Yeah. And there's just a

(09:27):
Sacramento yeah. And it's just like a lot of common
ground there. And and when you were talking about you know,
people saying, oh, you know, this is for the patient
and this and this and that. You know, it's no fuck,
it's about the money, guys, let's all be serious. So
I was, you know, if I can name drop back
in the beginning of our Atlance Rogers was our attorney.
Oh nice, yeah, yeah. So he had a he had

(09:49):
a an office up in La Joya, and I can
remember and it's kind of crazy because Janet, which works
for us now and has for a long time, she
was sitting in on this these meetings and they'd have
a conference table and everybody be smoking weed and they'd
pass a ball around and my son Cody, which has
never smoked anything in his life, and you know, we'd

(10:10):
we'd we'd come in and they'd be you know, smoking
and they say, hey, you know, nah, nah man, we
smoked on the way in. Were sucking. Everything's good, you know,
And it was, you know, that type of thing, and
then you know, as we went along a few meetings later,
you know, we got to know everybody because it was
you know, back then, everything was kind of a group thing, right,
you know, we were always trying to get things to
move forward. And so if you had anything going in

(10:32):
cannabis and your attorney Lance Rogers at that time was
big in that part of it. He'd get a group
together and let's try to push this and try to
push that. Yeah, and and so we were sitting in
a meeting and and everybody was on it. Everybody was
just you know, sitting there talking about oh, you know,
this is pay the patients this and care for this
and this and this and that, you know, blah blah blah,
and and somewhere in there, I just said, let's let's

(10:56):
all understand and be clear here. All right, I understand
what you're saying, and we have to say that out
in the other part of the world. But it's about
the fucking money here. I said, you drove in in
a fucking M five. You're in a mercedesier than this, Like,
let's let's all just trying to make money level and say, yeah, okay,
to make money, it's okay. And so Okay, that's exactly
what I said. It's okay to make money. Yeah, and

(11:18):
so it's kind of funny, but I was listening to
the Buddies uh podcast that you had, and I was
just like, man, it's just like a spot on. Sure.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
At that time when we were doing this, you know,
I'll tell you, you're right, there wasn't a lot of
that going on, you know, and and and some of
it was I mean, some people were you know, pay
patients and stuff like that that was really good causes.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
And then there's a lot of people that is all
for the money. I believe that, you know, you're absolutely
right though a lot of these people, uh, in this
industry you don't want to put that spin on it
back in those days.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
But now, you know, I think we all know that.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
It's a it's it's actually getting down to straight dollars
and cents like.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
It's it has to business. Yeah, I mean, very very
very much so. And so how's that going for for
you guys?

Speaker 4 (11:59):
Currently? After this break, it's Canada's Talk one when we's
right back, Yes, sir.

Speaker 1 (12:04):

George Sandler, this is a Geletto CEO co partner with
this center right there, this great cannabis company. Blue was saying,
how are the sales and everything going? And let's talk
about all this amazing product that you have on the table.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
First of all, I mean even before we say that, dude,
I want to commend you and say listen for you
to you know, create the Jalla brand.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
It's it's been a there's a.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Success that that goes with it, you know, and I
want to find out like is it did you create.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
The strain as well? Is that your whole or I
love you know me because I so wish such a
big Okay.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
Okay, yeah, that brand I wish, Yeah, I wish that
I did.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
No, so you just on the brand, but so I
do on the.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
Brand, which is awesome dude to have that. Bro, you're you,
I think you won.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
I think the craziest thing about that, you know, And
and if you go through the story of Platinum Vape.
And you know how we got started. You know, we
had stores. We just constantly compounded everything that we made
into cannabis and you know, building a brand and being
bigger and back in that time and and you know,
we flew to China and we've made up the name

(13:37):
Platinum Vape on the way to China. And there's a
whole story behind that. But we say we my son,
my son and myself. I've been we literally have been
partners for thirteen years, fifty to fifty. Yeah, that's awesome. Yeah,
it's it's I can't you know, I can never describe
unless you have kids and you know what it's like

(14:00):
to to have your family and your kids working working together,
and you know to I mean you gotta. It's sometimes
it still doesn't sink in. You know, we just the
two of us. We've never taken a dime from anybody,
and I didn't come from rich at all, you know,
but to build something as we did, to one hundred

(14:23):
and sixty hundred and eighty million dollar company with just
your son is it's fucking it's unbelievable, it really is.
It's it it It gets me every time because you know,
a lot of people don't have that opportunity. And yeah, it.

Speaker 4 (14:41):
Can even build a company with anybody else.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
Either too, that too and then to do this again. Uh,
it was really kind of our second shot on this,
and we we you know, long story short, we sold
the company. We sold Platinum Bape and there's a there's
a big story behind that. We didn't do that frivolously.
We we we have twelve people within our company that

(15:04):
we all made that decision together. It wasn't just a
run for the money. It was a run for being
a national brand sure, and unfortunately it didn't it didn't
pan out. We were we were going to stay with
the company. We had a contract for five years and
then longer, and unfortunately that company just doesn't have the
key players and and they've since lost since pretty much

(15:26):
fallen apart. Looking at buying it back. No, no, no,
so so yeah, no, it was it was part of
the part of the option that we had. We retained
one hundred percent control of the company till till the
dying last day, and that was one of the options,
and they chose to not go that direction, and we
offered to purchase the company back and they wanted to continue,

(15:49):
and and so you know, it was a forced sale
to to get us out.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
And so for an undisclosed amount or is there a
disclosed amount, it's on it's.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
On the It was. It was a lot, a lot.
It's one of the you know, the first time it's
about I'll tell you it was.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
It was a million.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
It was, well, it was, it was, yeah, it was,
it was. It was a good it was a good chuck.
I think, I think, what's that it's over fourteen million,
thirty or fifty. It was just under one hundred. Oh nice, yeah,
seventy nine A lot of millions, a lot of million center.
But I think for us it was congression the most

(16:29):
thank you, thank you, I mean it was it was
it was the most important that we solidified ourselves on
not selling for all paper. Sure, so we took fifteen
million in paper. And at the close out, we uh,
we had a force did you get the paper money?
Our our paper went up to one hundred and ninety million,

(16:49):
and then.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
It before you get just going down, yeah, before you
could touch it because we could touch it because.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
It was locked. Yeah. And so so we uh, at
the end, we did a force out. Then they paid
us our fifteen million and on the paper so we
got everything did yeah?

Speaker 4 (17:03):
Oh good?

Speaker 3 (17:04):
Yeah, otherwise otherwise we could could have taken the came How.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
Long after you sold that company did you open Gelotto
Cannabis Company?

Speaker 3 (17:11):
So we opened We're fourteen months into it now, so
it was a little over year somewhere in there.

Speaker 4 (17:16):
And then how did you come up with the name
Gelotto Cannabis?

Speaker 3 (17:19):
Once again, it's good, there's a story, you know, just
like you guys, there's a story behind everything. And our
team was still working for that company at the time,
and some of them just they quit immediately. And next
thing you know, they're knocking on our door and say, okay,
what are we going to do now? And they've been
with us for a long time, and we said, well,
we're we're doing other things, and they said, well, we're

(17:40):
doing other things with you. So honestly, we Cody and
I sat down for a couple of weeks and then
we called the twelve people in At that time, we
had about three hundred and something employees, but this top
twelve really was persistent and we decided, okay, you know,
we want to do this again. We have to do

(18:01):
it again. So we brought the twelve people. They came
in and they actually set my house and said, you
guys have a week to figure this out. If you
if you're one hundred percent in, every one of you
has to do it. If one person in the group
doesn't want to do it, we're not doing it. And
they came back the next week and that was it.
And we literally that at that last meeting, my son
we were all sitting there and they said, you know, okay, yeah,

(18:23):
we we were ready, man, let's let's do this. And
my son said, okay, the name is Gelato and I
went the fuck did nobody talked to me about it?

Speaker 1 (18:31):
You know?

Speaker 3 (18:31):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, sounds good.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
Yeah, that's your boy.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
Know, that was it?

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Now, I don't have to stress with the name is
it's a bad deal, dude, Like just I mean, just but.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
How about the fact that it was never trademark. Yes,
guess who has the trademark?

Speaker 4 (18:49):
You do not have it, do you guys do?

Speaker 3 (18:50):
Of course? It's every prospect to all the antillary all
the the wearables, everything. It was crazy. We couldn't eat it.
Get the website. What's that at the website yet? Yeah?
Gelato dot com. Yeah, we have it.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
Oh yeah, dude, that's what a brilliant Yeah to buy
that though, right, I'm not sure what is it?

Speaker 4 (19:10):
That's a lot of though like you said, I mean
it's an ice cream. That's you know, an Italian ice
cream that should have been taken you would think, well, not.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
For cannabis though, not for cannabis, but exactly.

Speaker 4 (19:19):
But yeah, still, it's a big name. It's not just
a cannabis name, you know what I mean, that's my
point to it. It's not just cannabis where it's known
now as a lot of cannabis. Yeah, but they're strange,
it's exactly strange. You know, we grew Gelato for a
long time. Yeah, it's a you know, so so now
Gelatto cannabis company. How many products do you have, because
I'm seeing quite a few skews just on the table here.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
I'd like to say that I know for sure, but
I think we're at skews. We are at one hundred
and thirty one hundred and thirty, one hundred and forty
and I could be wrong. Wow, I mean it is,
but over one hundred, well over hundred, yes, yes, absolutely,
And you guys started with what with one we start with.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
Seven and how many? How many seven? How do you
know how many stories you are in here in California?

Speaker 3 (20:05):
I want to say, right around five hundred and how
many other states you're Michigan and we're just launching Missouri,
actually just launching right now. Five hundred stores are California
and about five hundred five or six hundred Michigan. Really
there's not many stings. Michigan is huge running. I'll give
you a kind of a comparison, is you know for
PV we were doing about fifty sixty million in California

(20:29):
right and in Michigan we were doing about eighty five.
Good for you, Yeah, that's fantastic. Any anything, and then
at that time we were Oklahoma and Arizona as well.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Sure, and any any thoughts of now you know, you
know it's going public when you can or just staying inde,
just staying with.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
It, that's just us. Yeah, it's you know, we're kind
of had to had to talk about it because we
threw the Jelata party, and we've we've thrown a party
every single year, whether it's MJ Biscon or Flowers. Man,
let's go.

Speaker 4 (21:03):
The one that we have here, the great.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
Yeah, well, he said, let's go. All takes is an
invite and we'll and we'll bring, we'll bring. So we
ended up with just under four thousand people just a
couple of weeks ago at Hall of Flowers and and
everything's free. We've never charged for anything. Yeah, and uh
and it was just you know, a lot of fun,
a lot of visual and fun and give back. Yeah yeah, yeah,

(21:28):
but there's always somebody. And so I had I had
one people started sending me this. This guy had posted
something John Kappita or something. I never knew who he was.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
The name Okay, yeah, I don't know he's put it
all together, I know, but I know the name, and
you know, so he kind of started off his thing
was like, you know, I don't want to name names.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
I had to chew on this for the weekend because
I really had a lot to say and I'm not
going to mention any names. And you know, he kept saying,
I'm not going to mention any names, and it's not
you know, no offense, and it's this. There was like
a disclaimer for about five minutes and you kind of
fast forward through and then he says the gelato after party,
you know, blah, blah blah, blah blah, and he went
into you know, I don't want to go too far

(22:11):
into Butody just start talking about how we're ruining the culture.
And you know that's the owner of what's called. Isn't
it that we don't support the small craft grower and
blah blah. You know, he went on to all these things,
and then Adam Mill jumped in, which I've been a
huge fan of Adam since back in the day, you know,
and when PV we were up an Emerald Cup and

(22:32):
he was standing up on our you know bench out there.
We were just trying to get things going and fucking tavy,
you know, do it right. And then he got going
and I was like, the fuckers were at our party.
They were there. Yeah, I'm like, you're smoking our free weed,
drinking our free alcohol. And then he messaged back and
said I didn't smoke anto your weed. I brought my

(22:53):
own and I wouldn't drink any ear well alcohol. Who
said that, Adam? You know, I was just like, okay,
you know, but it's like, I hope you guys at
least had fun. Because I walked up to Adam and
he was with one of our what the girl. Why
why was he pissed him? No, it wasn't that he
was pissed. It was that it was kind of a
kind of a two faced thing because of the fact

(23:13):
that he was at our party. Clearly I high fived him.
He was in the music area, and then he was
out in the other area where everybody was, and you know,
he was having fun. But then all of a sudden,
he's you know, he called he called his clowns.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
Yeah. I was just like, you know, you didn't have
to go, you know, but you were there and they
were talking about our laser lights and the music and
sh I was like, I don't know, man, I don't
know what to tell you. Everything was free.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
You know what he called flattery though, you know what
I mean, Yeah, some one's talking about bad Master when
you got such a big brand and name like that.
Although Adam Hill was a good dude, he got a
good name out there.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
He's yeah, I know, And I was it kind of
sucked because, like I said, I you know, I love
the guy and yeah him, you know, and and so
I was kind of taken back and I messaged him
just in that in that forum and was just like, well,
I mean I said. I said, I said, uh, hey,
I saw saw you at the party. Great to see
you this and that. I hope you enjoyed our free

(24:14):
free weed and free alcohol and the and the music
and and and then I said the clown, you know
from the clown, and he messaged back, I didn't smoke
your weed. I had my weed this and that and well,
I hope you had fun.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
Anyways, Listen, I know you said you said you had
some an event at the after m J Biscon many
years ago.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
And Alice in Wonderland.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's all us about that event because
that sounds like so.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
Once again you know that was that was in the
PV days, and and we did a whole lead up
to that where we had bud tender appreciation parties and
each party had a secret segment to the party that
was Alice in Wonderland theme to each party, and the
bud tenders got secret codes kind of to to be
able to it. They didn't know, but they were going

(25:00):
to get to attend the mg Biscon party. And so
we took over the artists and hotel, which we kind
of talked about for a second, right, Okay, so it's
funny because we were talking about I said, I can't
remember the name, but you know, I said it was
where the Swinger is the port He goes, oh, the
Artistan Hotel. Yeah, He's like, yeah, I know that well because.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
We have a deal with we work with the Lexi Hotel, right,
which is you know, Elevations Nations, which is but that's
what they're known for.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
And as I told you, you know, the first day we
did a walk through. We flew over to walk through
the venue and what we were going to do, and
they're shooting a porn in the.

Speaker 4 (25:33):
Pool in the previous ommers.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
The lady, the lady that was that was walking us through,
you know, we were going through and and I we
walked out to the pool area and and there's a
guy sitting on the edge of the pool and there's
two girls in the water and I kind of looked
and it's really, you know, you kind because you kind
of get caught off guard. I didn't know. And then
she walks us out to the pool deck and she's
like talking, I said, are we going to just act

(25:57):
like this isn't happening. There's like five over six camera
crews there and there you're filming a porn you know,
twenty feet from us showing up the place.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Hey, just not acknowledging it.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
This is the It was like it was like it
was it was. I mean, she would have probably flinched
if it was two dogs screwed over there. But it
was just like normal. And I said, we can't walk
over this, you know. And it's like and then the
guy singers like, hey, what's up? And the girls like, hey, you.

Speaker 4 (26:25):
Know how you doing?

Speaker 3 (26:27):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (26:28):
Can I get down the coach?

Speaker 3 (26:32):
So we ended up throwing a party. We took over
the whole hotel story.

Speaker 4 (26:36):
As I saw that we had.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
To have the place. That was it, I said, this
is it. This is walking around home boys. And it
wasn't because of the porn. It was the fact that
I was going, Okay, we're going to be allowed to
smoke here. That's right, Like that's gonna They're friendly.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
They had many many cannabis events there. Shout out to
the artists and and the new owners of the Lexi. Uh,
they've hosted so many events for our industry cannabis, you know.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
And yeah, we did a whole theme. We did a
whole Alice in wonder Wonderland, theme party. So you know,
the entrance, we turned that into like the rabbit hole,
so we had it like narrowed down and then you
opened up into the into the thing there and we
had you know, we had midgets dressed as the characters
and then we had tall people and yeah, and it

(27:21):
was a full production thing. We end up with seven
thousand people at that party. Wow, seven thousand built it
there and uh yeah, and it was just.

Speaker 4 (27:29):
It's been a tourist now that it's been talked about
for years.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
We flew, we we took we took over the whole
hotel and then we flew out I think it was
one hundred and fifteen, but tenders from all over the
state of California, and we put them into TV buses
and some flew out there and they each had a
room that was stocked and they were there just to party.
And man, we had it taking care of the people. Man,
we just had a blast. Yeah. I mean, you know,
we do our best to support the industry.

Speaker 4 (27:54):
The industry well, and the industry supports you have to
talk about supporting you. Gelatocanada dot com is the website.
I mean, I'm looking at all these products on here,
and you guys actually have many sugar cones with cannabis
and fused chocolates which are different flavors. You got milk chocolate,
and caramel cookies, and cream white chocolate, strawberry chocolate, and

(28:14):
then you go you got the which are called I
believe the last bite, right, is that what it.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
Is sitting right in front here?

Speaker 4 (28:19):
Oh yeah, those look just awesome? Can you actually put
ice cream in there?

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Yes? And so wow, yeah, those bags. We launched those
at the hall Flowers and we sold out our whole
lot in two days. And then they had shipped us
the wrong cones. So now we're getting we're back to
building building stock on it. But so we get the cones,

(28:43):
but everything inside and everything out is us. So we
do the whole the whole show. Ten mis. At the
hall Flowers show, we did a little ice cream cart
and we had little tiny ice cream scoopers and the
whole show. No less than twenty people in mind to
get a little cone with ice cream on it. And

(29:06):
then and then at the at the at our show,
the event we gave out I think it was I
don't know, seven eight thousand of these cones. People are
going nuts.

Speaker 4 (29:17):
So the cones are a big hit. Then you have
the premium cartridges, which are ninety a full gram, which
looks like a big, great cartridge that people are loving.
What are the different flavors that you have there? I
see on the website macaroons.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
I don't even know how many, so many. I've got
Bubba Cush, blue Mango, honey Dew. We used to have
candy Bowl, but because of the word candy, we had
to change it.

Speaker 4 (29:44):
Change.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
So I think I think we changed its sweet tooth,
you know. And we're you know, we're getting hit again
with this stuff on the sweet flavorings and the sweets.
I mean, it's in the packaging, the packaging, you know,
we're we're we're all hanging on a thread with with
this yeah, with this control that they're kind of putting
on us.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
You know.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
I hate that for you, and I'm sorry you're going
through that. But I'll tell you guys certainly are creative.
Where does that creative come from? Is that from you
and your boy? Because I you know, honestly, like just
thinking about the parties, the way you throw those parties,
the way you come up with something candy, sweet tooth,
just the way you think like that, must just run
into your guys's you know, I mean, so I will, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (30:23):
You know the game exactly if you know.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
You know, I don't usually take too much credit, to
be honest with you, but I am on this one.
Usually in these cases, on the parties and the themes
and and and that side, I come up with with
the of the main the main part of that, and
then they all help you get it done correct. And

(30:47):
our team, our team is absolutely we do everything is
in house. All of our marketing, everything is in house.
Packaging is all us. We don't we don't do anything
outside of our deal. And you guys are more than welcome.
We'd love to have you guys down and do a tour.
Where's home? So Tula Vista is our main office and
that Miramar is our main manufacturer.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
Just right to have the freeway here, yeah, yeah, yeah,
it's about forty five minute drive for us.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
But our team, our team is amazing at putting this together.
And my son is a marketing guru. I can't I'd
love to step into that and take some of that
as much as I could, but I can't.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
Well know, you guys have the name, you have the look.
All the colors that you guys are using a credit
credible and then you also have to get a little
bait Pin premium flower. I love the way this looks
with the banana r NTZ runs that remember Runs of course, yeah,
of course I used to eat them all the time.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
I love them. Well.

Speaker 4 (31:43):
Runs is also a strange okay, yeah, straight, yeah, there
you go before.

Speaker 3 (31:48):
Yeah, yeah, that was that.

Speaker 4 (31:50):
They're running with it as you sure well. And then
you got the pre rolls available in two sizes, one
gram and then a five pack. I mean, you guys
are just having so much shit out there. Gummies. You
guys are a full on everything Cannabis infused chocolates, cookies
and creams, Sativa premium concentrates. You guys are a full line.

Speaker 3 (32:11):
Yeah yeah yeah. And if you ever get a chance
to visit our store in Lake Elsinore, you'll you'll see
it is literally the Willy Walker Stores. Really, it is
literally looking up at some point, it is Willy Wonka's.
There's candy drops everywhere, All the racks are three tiered
cake looking. It's just it's the floor. Everything is just

(32:35):
a blast.

Speaker 4 (32:35):
Well, George, we're gonna take a break and we're gonna
go to your store real quick, to Lake Alison, and
we're gonna come back and talk about it.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
But before we.

Speaker 4 (32:43):
Come back, you guys, I have a quote from mister
Badass himself, Brian Buckley.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
To Ship DC. He wrote me a quote that I'm
gonna read to you on air, and I want them
back a Cannabis Talk one one wright back after this.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Right, make sure you like follow and subscribe to Cannabis
Talk one on one. Now now back to the number
one cannabis show on the planet. You know what, get
Now back to the number one cannabis show in the universe.

Speaker 4 (33:20):
I hope you're ready to live the life that you create,
you guys. At Elevations Nations, they have created a community
where authenticity and adventures me curiosity, a space for members
to explore culinary adventure, travel, cannabis, why, culture, and unforgettable experiences,
providing access to an exceptional life full of elevated and
inspired seasons and Elevations Nations membership is the key to

(33:41):
having at all visit Elevation Nations dot com to discover
new possibilities. And it's ironic the last break, we were
just talking about an Elevation's Nation experience that was going
down in Las Vegas.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
That one breath exactly like that. Yeah, I was. I
was trying to catch my breath over here, George.

Speaker 4 (34:02):
I'm a professional.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
Yeah, I know, George.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
I said, up the break, we're gonna come back with
a quote. It was ironic that I was talking to
Brian Buckley this morning, yes, and he said, you were
talking to him yesterday and he said, you're gonna come
down here, and he said, you're gonna go see those assholes.
You're gonna hate it over there.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
I wasn't gonna say that exactly. I wasn't gonna say that.

Speaker 4 (34:23):
As you see we have the Brian Buckley up there
on the wall right.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
Yeah. That he did say plural though, so I knew
who he was talking about.

Speaker 4 (34:31):
So Brian is a great friend of the show. He
does a lot of the veteran out out word.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
We're amazing, guys here amazing.

Speaker 4 (34:37):
But he had a lot of things to say about you,
and then I asked him, can you send me a
quote because you've told me so much. That's how I
learned about you having this with your son and having
the company, just from talking back and forth with him
a little bit but I want to read this quote
as he sent me a quote about you, and then
I'm gonna say some things also that are in my head.
I quote from Brian Buckley, the CEO of h VG.

(35:00):
HVGC would not be where it is without George and
Cody Sandler. They love this country, They have tremendous respect
for those who served our country, and they are simply
the red real deal. Many people talk the talk, but
George and Cody walk the walk every day. I'm so
thankful to have them in our lives. They are family.

(35:21):
With their supports, we are going to complete our mission
of having medical cannabis prescribed to veterans through the Veterans
Health Administration the VA and help serve the lives and
save the lives of our heroes. They are fully committed
to help those who have served to live the American
dream that they went forward to defend. And that right there, folks,

(35:44):
is from Brian Buckley who said he wouldn't be where
he's act with his company. And I go, Brian, is
it fair to say that Emerald cup that you just
won the other day? It's right? And he goes, When
I get that trophy, I'm putting it up in that offen.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
And his office is there too, that he's not. He's
not giving you a full spectrum of His office is
right next ours.

Speaker 4 (36:13):
So fuddy in our office, he's all the building.

Speaker 3 (36:17):
He has always had our had an office at our
facility always and what.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
He's sure to be about you just to elaborate on
this that he didn't right in there, but to give
you guys an insight of what George and Cody are about.
When George and Cody met Brian and heard what he
wanted to do and how he wanted to serve the
veteran community, you guys were one hundred percent on board
and said let's go and let's do this and supported

(36:43):
him and his mission and his cause. With nothing on
top of it. You said, Nope, we're going to do this.
We got just just just help cover that and that's it.
And I just commend you from him telling me the story.
I take my hat off to you and your son.
I had no idea that you're pushing brands like that
behind your logo as well as a brand like George

(37:04):
Lopez's Ching Gun brand. Folks, this is the man that's
behind that as well their products. So I mean, I
got chills in my face thinking right now about not
only what you're doing for the Latin community with George
Lopez and him, but for the veteran community like you're
doing for Brian Buckley. Because we've had Brian Buckley on
the show several times and I love the man to
death and for what he's done for this country and

(37:25):
how he's trying to serve and how he's going far
and beyond for the research and really trying to change
the stigmatism for the veterans, and for you guys, for
him to tell me this story that was not pulled
out of him but was so genuine and I won't
forget I was pressing making my coffee drinking it. It's
just like, you guys are blessings to this country and

(37:45):
to this world. Man, So thank you to you and
your son for doing what you guys do. Give them
another round of applause, everybody, because companies like this don't
come around often, don't sit there and say, no, what's
our profit. No, it's not about that with you guys.
So you know what, people don't know that story. I
know you ain't saying that, and I know Brian says
he doesn't say this, he doesn't talk about it, and
I go, can I say it? He's like, you can't.

(38:06):
It may just calm down and make him like be
quiet or something. But here I do because you just
don't hear people that do that, you know what I mean.
You don't see people that are out there. You see
people help people, yes, yeah, but not a whole company
where you're going to start it make it. And now
that company's winning cups and just making a lot of
noise in the industry, and you know, to think you
guys are behind it. So what made you decide to

(38:29):
do something like that when you heard it?

Speaker 3 (38:32):
Well, I mean, first of all, thank you, and if
you really know the dynamics of business and whatnot, it's
it's really not us. Brian is just an amazing person.
And the story behind that guy and what he's done is,
you know, I've been so fortunate that these guys walked

(38:54):
into our office and literally he's that party. He's truthful.
We sat at our conference and within less than thirty minutes,
you know, my son and I kind of nodded at
each other and that was it, and I said, let's go.
And you know, you have to you have to have
some compassion. And it's not just for veterans, but you know,

(39:17):
for everything. And we have a deep compassion for veterans.
And it goes back to our delivery days. And you know,
but go ahead and Bryan, go ahead and tell it.
Don't just over, you know, I mean, so getting getting
into the deliveries, I was very fortunate early on to
get with some veterans that were really in a bad place.

(39:40):
And ironically it was a delivery that I would meet.
I think in the beginning, I would meet his wife
in the parking lot, and then at one point he
could this this guy had living in Santia in an
apartment and he had not been outside for almost five months.
And I was fortunate to walk in and experienced his

(40:03):
first time using cannabis. And the next day, you know,
his wife called and said, for the first time, he
got a full night sleep and he walked outside, sat
on the porch. It's gut wrenching, honestly, I can't It's
one of those things I can't talk too much about
because it's changed his life, changed your life. And so

(40:24):
that took us into just a real passion for understanding
what cannabis is and that's it's given me goosebumps because
you know, you as a person that smoked coming up
and enjoyed it and whatnot, and then to see what
it can do for a person that is contemplating their

(40:47):
life is nothing short of amazing. And yeah, and that
and that's right the girls.

Speaker 4 (40:54):
So when you're sitting there going to buy brands and
you're looking like, what is this brand about? This is
what the brand's about. This is what George and Cody,
the founders of this company, are doing besides their brand,
you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (41:06):
And I think I think, honestly, I think, you know,
Brian Buckley was with us a long time before he
was physically in our room, and we've been doing so
many things for veterans through this this period of time,
and and Buckley came in and and and I can
remember this meeting explicitly, and and my son, you know,

(41:28):
just like this is it, Like this is this is
the platform that's been kind of calling to us on
a much bigger scale than just us, you know, outside
of delivery, and then all the things that we we
tried to do to help, you know, to mitigate these
issues that are being had in the in the veteran
and you know, people uh, taking their lives and yeah,

(41:51):
the PTSD. The there's so much to it.

Speaker 2 (41:55):
And and I think it's it's interesting too because like
you know, I have an uncle that's PTSD and I
wanted to to turn them onto cannabis.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
But he's just he just too I think, you know,
there has to be a time not ready for that.

Speaker 2 (42:08):
But I mean he's got his windows, I mean nailed shut,
you know what I'm saying, in his home and I
know that experience.

Speaker 3 (42:14):
I know, though you know, you know, you know, and
I tell you I don't I don't know how much.
I mean, I know Brian speaks highly of you guys,
even though he did call you guys assholes. Yeah, that's
highly I consider in my circlehold, Yeah, in my circle.
I take that as a badge. That's good. But I

(42:36):
have been very fortunate and we have once again immediately
that day. From then on, he's always had an office,
you know, in our in our office and full office,
and I've been very fortunate to be able to sit
down and listen to some of the stories this guy has.
And if you ever.

Speaker 4 (42:56):
Yeah, if you're seeing go back and find the first
podcast with Brian Buckley. It's maybe like a year ago,
but just searched Brian Buckley on Cannabis Talk one on one.
He became the badass to me. And not only that,
I want to share with you guys that give you
guys a little crack smile of this badass killer that
served our country so well. I said, Brian, can I
get that quote that you said to me and send

(43:17):
it to me so I can read it on air.
His first one that he sends me, it says Brian
Buckley is without a doubt beautiful stu jaw line provocated
fashion icon. I just devastating on the dance floor.

Speaker 3 (43:32):
I go, that's perfect thing there is Brian's Brian bucking
for you.

Speaker 4 (43:38):
I mean he's the same says, oh my boy, he
called for my birthday voicemail and just says me and
Joe Bettle the dance floor doing a Michael Jackson thriller
Beat It contest.

Speaker 3 (43:48):
He's so funny, Dan, we have so many we have
so many in this time frame that we're talking about
the memories that have been built with this guy and
character and just a person. You know, He's that those
memories that are built. Yeah, you know, he was at
my wedding and barely made it to my wedding. He
got wrung up in Miami. We heard the story wedding

(44:12):
the Bahamas. Oh yeah, And I've got golf stories with
this guy a run away golf cart and I'll show
you that. Oh you know. But but then you know,
just the fun stuff that goes on, you know. I'm, I'm, I'm.
I get in my car and I pull my visor
down and this card of a naked guy flops out

(44:34):
of my visor and my wife is like, what the
hell is that? She's looking at me said, fuck is this?
So then I I go and and I'm in my
office and I'm having m I'm having a meeting and
there's people sitting there, and I see somebody staring at
I had like a black chalkboard or whatever you call it,
you know, the glass things and stuff hanging like lanyards

(44:57):
from MJ and stuff like that, and there's cards and
and stuff, and and the guy keeps looking up at
this thing, and I'm like, are you looking at him?
Sitting behind my desk? Look at him. I look up
and there's a there's a guy sitting there just hanging
out on a card.

Speaker 4 (45:16):
You know.

Speaker 3 (45:17):
I never I never saw it. And so, but Brian
had told me a story about uh I think he
called dick cards or something like that. I forget what
he calls it. But in the military, they they put
these cards on on the guys and you've been dick
carded or whatever. I remember the name. And he was

(45:37):
talking about one time when he got shot and they
were heilo or helloing him out of helo out and uh, yeah,
so you know he had gotten shot, I guess a
couple of times. So it's so easy just to say
I got shot a couple few times. But he was
in helicopter and one of the guys came up and
slapped it. You know, here he is, he's shot. They're

(45:59):
taking him out there and the guy comes up and
slaps a card on his chest and he's like, you've
been dickcarded or whatever they call it, and off the
helicopter goes, you know. So then I remembered that, and
I'm like, Okay, now I know where this is coming from.
So then we have a meeting every Monday, and Brian
is sitting at the end. He always sits at the
end of the table for me always, and so he
sit at the end of the table and I said,

(46:20):
you got a problem. You know, I'm finding these these
cards around. I don't know where these are coming Brian said, well,
we got to figure this out. He's like, we we
really got to We got to look into this. He's like,
I'm gonna I'm gonna get my crew and we're going
to start trying to try to figure out where these
are coming from, you know. So it kind of went
back and forth, went back and forth for a couple months,
and then I'd said to Brian, because I was finding

(46:43):
these cards everywhere, that's so great everywhere. And so I said, listen,
I'll play the game, but understand, I don't give up.
Like this is it's gonna it's gonna escalate. And he's like, well,
you know, first and foremost, we should find out who's
doing it so that you have somebody to retaliate against,
you know, and he just kept that strong. I said, okay,
I said, all right, I'm gonna let it go. So

(47:06):
about two months later, Brian had left. I think he
went to visit his parents in Philadelphia or something. I
can't remember. I think it was Philadelphia. So I took
his office, did the whole I had fifty four bags
of the little foam peanuts and we filled and I
have it all on camera. I put a I put

(47:28):
I put go pros in the room, and I filled
his whole office, whole office all the way up to
the ceiling with yes and even had to go from
the other office and take the ceiling out. And then
then we took a leaf blower to make sure we

(47:50):
tightened it all the way up around it was solid
like a twelve x fourteen office. And then I hung
a Dick card on one of his pictures inside. And
then I took a bag of the peanuts and put
it over his desk on the tile above his desk

(48:11):
and had strings so that you could pull the tile
and the bag would drop all the peanuts on his desk.
So he comes in, it's all on video. Comes in
at like five point thirty in the morning. I had
a camera crew there waiting, and he goes and opens
up his door and the shit just comes out, and
it just keeps coming, and he's sitting there just like

(48:33):
and he's like, well, this is really cool, isn't it, right,
And then the camera guy pops out and he's like yep,
and he turns around. He walks off. Well, at the time,
I also had guys down with saran wrap, saran wrapping
his car. Oh no, So then the camera guy's out there.
He gets hit there, so then it's great. Two days later,

(48:57):
they clean up his whole office. He gets his whole
office cleaned up, and he's sitting in his office and
once again I have the camera. So I had somebody
on the opposite office and I go in and I
have my phone. I'm like, hey, you know, good to
have you back. You know, looks clean, and he's like yeah,
And I found the dick card on the picture over here,
and I said, we got to figure out who did this, huh.

(49:21):
And at that time, at that time, the guy pulls
the ceiling tile back and all the phone drops on him.
It's like motherfucker, but it gets better. Yeah, So I
hope nobody's offended by this. I know how this world is.
Right now, he was going to a very important dinner

(49:42):
meeting and I took and had a six foot I'm
gonna say it, guys, because kind of reality, I had
a six foot black cock. I had it done it
my Buddy's wrap shop full size, a full size six foot.

Speaker 4 (50:02):
That conversation, go hey, can you make me a six
foot cock?

Speaker 3 (50:05):
Everything? And Brian was in Cobbo with us one time,
completely hammered, and he was getting out of jacuzzie and
I had a picture of him where he's out of
the jacuzzie and he's just and I'll show you guys
the pictures. And so I had it superimposed, Yes, I do.
I had it superimposed so it looked like he was
leaning on the cock right six foot and I had

(50:30):
him put it on the side of his car.

Speaker 4 (50:32):
Oh my god, no you didn't.

Speaker 3 (50:34):
And Brian comes leaves the office, he goes down, gets it.
He has no clue this is on his car. And
then I had another car following him on the freeway.
We stop and go traffic.

Speaker 4 (50:45):
People were honking at him.

Speaker 3 (50:46):
People were honking and it's him on there, and and
I put size matters. I think it was there. Yeah,
put size matters. And he's like leaning on it. And
here he is driving and he starts getting weird looks.
He's like, what the hell was going on? He pulls
off to go to this dinner meeting and he's going
in Carlsbad. He's driving through the parking lot, or he

(51:07):
stopped at a light and there was a lady and
her husband doing something with a bicycle and she looks
up at him and she's like, that's just fucking disgusting.
And he drives on. He's like, something's going on. He
pulls in and he'll tell you the story. I'm sure.
He pulls in and as he's driving, people that are
at the restaurant they're like pointing at his car. And
now he knows that something happened, he said. He races

(51:30):
around the back, jumps out and goes around the He's like,
he said him a bitch, and he starts ripping it
off his car, start pulling the dick off?

Speaker 4 (51:39):
Did he did?

Speaker 3 (51:39):
He immediately? He immediately was sending me message and my
next thing and I had it on text too. I said,
you know what, man, we really need to find out
who's doing this ship to you. I love Brian, man.
I mean I've you know, there's we have in the
time that we've known each other and and what's going on.

(52:04):
We just have had.

Speaker 4 (52:08):
He goes hard.

Speaker 3 (52:08):
Yeah, we've had each side of it. And he's an
amazing person and I mean the respect that this guy
has and and still does for the military and the
things that he's done and the people's lives that I
can say that he has saved is it's it's it's
unbelievable what this guy's done. He's impacted all of our
lives at some point, you know. And going back to

(52:31):
the thank yous on that and the credits, HVGC would
have fallen through the gap in a split second if
it wasn't him at the helm and so you know,
he he he deserves all the credit because he's Yeah,
that that is truth. A little ward.

Speaker 4 (52:49):
Now, tell us how you hooked up with George Lopez?
How did you get the Chin Going brand be what
it is?

Speaker 3 (52:54):
Yeah, So it's kind of it's kind of funny. We
you know, in the PV time, we we were doing
our thing and and somebody had called and said, hey,
George Lopez had gotten hold of our product and had
one of his people reach out to us and said, hey,
he'd like to do a zoom call with you guys,
and they want to talk about doing a brand. I

(53:16):
was like, wow, So we we brought our marketing team
and everybody in we sat in our conference room and boom,
George Lopez and a couple other people on the screen,
and man, he just went straight into like a comedy
show and started talking about it. And he talked about
how his assistant had gotten our gummies and and he's like, man,
she just said, you got to try this shit, and

(53:37):
blah blah blah blah. And so we we hit it off,
and I mean, it's just a super nice guy. I mean,
just an amazing person across the board and the things
that he does for people. And and so we created
the Chingan brand and and we started, you know, started
building that building that brand, and and then you know,
he's got his new show, so we kind of put
it on a on a back burner and we we've

(53:59):
done it golf tournament for four years now, which is
another amazing thing. You just don't know what these guys
do on the backside of having celebrity stuff.

Speaker 2 (54:07):
And since Joe right here, he actually knows how to golf,
you know, you and I you know, kind of talked
about it off air.

Speaker 3 (54:13):
I'm a nine holder, eight and a half nine. I'm done,
and I'll tell you. I'll tell you what. We do
it every year and we have we have to do
nine and then I'm out. Yeah, that's me. And sometimes
I do warm up. Sometimes I do it like in
a two and then I take a break and then
I'll catch back up a little bit and you know,
and and go have some fun. But that would be cool.
If you want to golf with us next year, I

(54:35):
will one hundred percent hold you to It's an amazing tournament. Yeah,
definitely a lot of fun. And it's a lot of
people that I'm sitting at at a table with, you know,
with Al from tool Time. Yeah, and and Debbie, and
Debbie's there, they're they're there. They're there every year, you know,
and Tim Allen.

Speaker 4 (54:53):
The entertainer is always there.

Speaker 3 (54:56):
Suit everybody is just so much fun, and you know,
they're talking about how great the product is, and you know,
everybody's high and just having fun and golfing. And you know,
everybody spends a lot of time at at the Chingan Tent,
which now the Gelato Tent. And I'll tell you Oscar
de la Hoya, him and his wife two years ago
they were on Hoole twelve. They never left, they stayed.

(55:19):
I've never seen I think I think, I think, I
think our guys were cleaning up and they were still
still there. That guy and his wife had the best
time and they drove back their cart down. He's like, man,
this fucking and he turns around and goes back and
our people, our guys down there were just like they
hung out the whole time and they were greeting everybody.

(55:41):
You know, I was coming through. It was like an
Oscar day.

Speaker 2 (55:44):
Yeah, and sometimes it's nice to you know, just stay
at one hole because I mean that, you know, we
just recently did a celebrity golf tournament for the Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (55:54):
Wow, the music just came out of nowhere. That country
it coming out. I just I was just like, let
that come in come that.

Speaker 3 (56:04):
It was part of the dot You guys timer Oh sorry,
Oh he's so, you were saying. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (56:12):
So we ended up having one and and so, but
we we set up at one. You got to see
everybody go through. You really get to kind of hang
out with people. I like that better than the golf.
He went and golfed the whole time. So like I
went and, you know, hit a couple of holes, slap
hands with people, but for the most part have stayed
at one and just kind of seen everybody everybody's gonna
go through.

Speaker 3 (56:31):
It's every hole.

Speaker 2 (56:32):
Yeah, and and and that's that's kind of how I
like it too. He's more of the guy that goes
out and golfs you so I want to see everybody,
which is great. Cart We're on the golf cart.

Speaker 3 (56:41):
Yeah. Hit. But some people will be like, where where
the fun did George go?

Speaker 4 (56:46):
Yeah? George is playing George. Yeah. Just George is like, Okay,
you're hanging and doing that. That's fun.

Speaker 3 (56:54):
Man. I can see.

Speaker 4 (56:54):
Is there anybody else that you guys are doing brands
for that we would.

Speaker 6 (56:57):
Know or.

Speaker 3 (57:01):
No, there there there's one or two that we can't say.
You know, it's still in that I mean, it is
one of those things that some people that we manufacture
for don't know. Yeah, we're still kind of in that
that era. But yeah, we even back in the day,
it was always kind of funny. You know, we'd be
we'd be in a store and and you know, we'd
have PV there and a couple of other these big,

(57:21):
big brands that we manufactured for, and they'd be like,
peb sucks. You're like, ship, that's exactly we do that
one to what people do that it is it's it's funny.
But I mean that's you know that, that's the fun
side of you know, yeah, you know that. That's why

(57:43):
we just want to have fun with cannabis. We went
through all this time and you know, and trying to
get to a point where we could sit here and
do this and walk out in the front door and
have a smoke and whatever you want to do and
hang with cops and not have not have those issues.
You know. I mean, I've been raided and been in
jail and I've been all that stuff and gunpoint twice

(58:03):
and knives and delivery services. I give a fucking huge
respect out to the people doing delivery services. It's a
it's a real game. It's a yeah, it's a it's
a tough time out there for sure, but yeah, you know,
it's just have fun with it.

Speaker 4 (58:17):
Sure, Well, you guys have had fun, and you guys
are changing the world. The Gelatto brand is recognized all
over you guys are in multi states. You guys are
doing your thing. Congratulations for the Chinon brand and of
course helping out with HVGC. But now it's time to
do the high five with George, the CEO and co
founder of Gelato cannabis. You guys, George, I think it's eleven.

(58:38):
But how old were you the first time you smoked cannabis?
And where'd you get it from?

Speaker 3 (58:43):
I think it was eleven. I think it was eleven,
and you know, undoubtedly it came from my parents and
via my older brothers, and yeah, I can remember. I
think I was in I think it was an alpine
that time, at that time, somewhere around there, and yeah,
we all we all got high.

Speaker 4 (59:03):
Was it a good time?

Speaker 3 (59:04):
It was?

Speaker 4 (59:05):
Come on, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 3 (59:06):
The first time is always a good time. Yeah, the
best then. But I can't say that about edibles. My
first time in edibles was a fucking mine too, Oh
mine too.

Speaker 4 (59:16):
I was scaredy cat, I didn't have mine was good.
I was a mushrooms and assets, so it didn't matter me.

Speaker 3 (59:21):
I was. I was, I was doing shrooms and stuff.
But then stuff, yea, exactly were fucking They gave me
a work over twice and so I didn't do them
for a long long time. But yeah, I was, I
was eleven, and and you know it was back then
the weed was just weed. It was I think it was,
you know, of just slow and low. It's nice, but

(59:43):
when you go too high, and I mean, I'm I'm
not a fan of that. Man. Yeah, just all I
at not too much. I gotta I gotta stay, I
gotta stay in control.

Speaker 2 (59:52):
Question number two of the I five, what is your
favorite way to use or smoke cannabis?

Speaker 3 (59:59):
Pretty much any way everywhere? You know, I'm always true. Truthfully,
I don't. Truthfully, I don't. I don't do concentrates or yeah,
I mean, the rocket fuel is just it's not in
my me, it's not in my blood and respect to people.
My wife can she starts at fifty milligrams edibles and
I don't know how or why or what happens in

(01:00:20):
that whole scenario.

Speaker 4 (01:00:22):
Bit I will do this, but right now.

Speaker 3 (01:00:25):
She starts at fifty.

Speaker 4 (01:00:26):
And that's like seven thirty in the morning.

Speaker 3 (01:00:28):
Say, hey, it's not yea, we have we have eighteen
month old twins, and she's very responsible. So her her,
it's it's typically weak.

Speaker 4 (01:00:38):
You went and started over.

Speaker 3 (01:00:39):
Yeah, I love it, man, Good for you. I have
my son and I have kids the same age. Yeah,
we live right down the street from each other, and
you know, it's just it's just a whole whole big thing.
But yeah, I I I was. I was always. I
never got too much into blunts, but a good pre roll. Man,
I love our Lolly's and there's nothing like a bong hit.

(01:01:01):
I don't I don't care what anybody says. I don't
care what anybody says with ice. Yeah, I've done, you know,
I've gone to the days of trying to do you know.
At one point I did like a strawberry milk bong,
you know, and you to get the expansion from a
good triple chamber ice bong. Fuck you, And that's all

(01:01:24):
your kids out there. You're missing. You're missing the real.

Speaker 4 (01:01:28):
Real flavored taste.

Speaker 3 (01:01:29):
The whole experience snot coming out your nose as.

Speaker 4 (01:01:32):
You think your full. Oh man, that's very right there.
Why is that so fun? High five George. The craziest
place you ever used or smoked cannabis surfing?

Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
Yeah, avid surfer. I created this contraption and before they
had the the little seal tight thing on it, and uh,
I would literally go out in the and I was
in organ at the time. I lived up there for
nine years, and I I would take a little thing
of weed and this pipe that I had made and

(01:02:08):
tuck it up into my wetsuit and I would get
out in the lineup and people would go nuts. I
don't think I was the first ever do it, but
that was that was my my spot, man. There was
nothing to me. There was nothing like sitting out in
a great day of surfing and being able to not
have to go in to get high. That was the
problem that I happened, was that, you know, I would

(01:02:31):
have to everybody has to go into the beach and
then you're fighting to Oh, fuck the cops or whatever.
I'm out in the water, come and get me. And
I made a lot of Honestly, I made a lot
of friends in the local spots, you know, because of that,
because you know, they didn't have to go. They didn't
have to go either, so it's not about time. And

(01:02:53):
I had a lot of letmes on that one. They
could let me go. Yeah, I got this one. You
have it.

Speaker 2 (01:02:58):
Question before the high file, what is your too munchy
after you get ht sushi?

Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
My kind sushi? Any any anything, any crunchy, any crunchy rolls,
spicy spicy hand role Yes, take it.

Speaker 4 (01:03:14):
Take take it to sushi in San Diego area some
of the best, by the way. It takes us like
one of the best places in the world to live.
I love it too. Carls all that from once you
hit Carls Bad, you're just in Oh yes, yes, yes.
Question number five with a high five. George Sandler, the
CEO and co founder of Gelatto Cannabis. If you could
smoke cannabis with anyone dead or alive, who would it

(01:03:37):
be and why?

Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
Tommy Chong, Yes, gentlemen, Tommy Chong.

Speaker 4 (01:03:43):
Dude. You know we're gonna have Tommy Chong here too,
be here.

Speaker 3 (01:03:46):
Like next week. Oh yeah, I'll get to the dates.
So don't tell everybody, but you just get to cut.
So you know, I had a podcast for three years.
I mean, oh really, yeah, you bring it forward. Whatever
we had back in the day. It was Pepe Unfiltered,
and we called ourselves the number one cannabis podcast in
the nation.

Speaker 6 (01:04:03):
Way yeah, that was what we weren't, but we staked
that claim and I had I had Tommy on twice
no way yeah and them no because and if you,
if you get a chance at some point, I'll send
you the footage of it.

Speaker 3 (01:04:20):
It's kind of funny because it was during COVID and
the first time he came on, I did a full
skit each time. Where we were, we were. I was Tommy.
It was the funniest ship ever. I dressed up like Tommy. Yeah,
he's on, He's on and and and you know, so
hang on a second and I go down. I put
on a wig and he's like, what the fuck?

Speaker 4 (01:04:42):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:04:42):
And then yeah, and then a little bit later I
had one of our guys you know, come by fully
looked like cheech comes sweeping behind me. Tommy's like, he's
looking behind me, and he's like the hell. You know.
It was a blast. And so then on set with
you what's that you guys were on set together. We

(01:05:04):
were on set. He was on zoom because he wasn't
he was this cod that ship COVID that took place,
remember that flash of nightmare that we all had at
one point. So he was on zoom and and so
we we just had a blast. We end up over
two hours on it, and I finally had to go.
You know, it was his and his his agent originally

(01:05:25):
had said he only likes to do about thirty minutes
or so, you know, blah blah blah, but we never stopped.
Then they called back and said, hey, he wants to
do another segment. So we did another one, and we
started off with we had the superimposed We had like
a car built like we were in the car and
filled it with smoke and we had the police lights

(01:05:47):
and it's like, hey man, you know, we did the
full skin and he was on there just laughing. And
then at the end of it, you know, we had
so many stories and the funny ship you guys know,
And so I told him, I said, Tommy, we got
to do a story time with Tommy Chong. Yeah, yeah,
you know he's going on okay, And then we sold
the company. Yeah, and then just recently they we got

(01:06:09):
back in touch and they wanted to do this story time,
so yeah, I mean I so anyways, in the first one,
I always said, there's anybody that I ever want to
smoke weed with, it's Tommy Chong's bar none. And so
I took out a joint at the end and I
had rolled this pre roll, you know, I had to
roll it like a pre roll like this long. And
Tommy's on there and he's like, he's like, oh yeah.
I said, you know, man, listen, I've always wanted to

(01:06:31):
smoke with you. Unfortunately, this is how we're doing things
right now, So hats off to you. And I'd say,
the hell is this no? And I pulled out a
big fat hood pre roll like this big around, you know,
and he just started He's like light it up.

Speaker 4 (01:06:48):
So there I was, you know, I so that was
my He looked like one of those things Brian Buckley
had on the side.

Speaker 3 (01:06:52):
Of his car. So no, I have you know, Tommy
Chong is just he's just a lifelong hero of mine
and what he's, what he and what they have done
for cannabis will never ever be enough for people to

(01:07:13):
really understand. It's way more than what we could ever
imagine what they did in that time. You go back
and understand what he did well and what's the jail
for and everything else. I mean, come on there, yeah,
come on, yeah. But how about the fact that they
were literally filming in seventy was it seventy five or

(01:07:34):
seventy six, and they were getting high. They could have
been they could have been hoisted out of there at
any time then they wanted to. They were trying to
get about. His stories are amazing. Yeah, it's de We
pull you in on that one.

Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
That's the pint and what we should do while he's here,
because he'll definitely remember that skit.

Speaker 3 (01:07:52):
We should run that skit back.

Speaker 2 (01:07:54):
Maybe have you come out in it.

Speaker 3 (01:07:57):
I'll send it to you guys.

Speaker 4 (01:07:59):
Yeah, to two of them.

Speaker 3 (01:08:00):
And then, you know, I think they were probably more
funny to me than anybody else.

Speaker 4 (01:08:04):
No comedy, funny, funny.

Speaker 3 (01:08:06):
Fun you know. And then we did the with Buckley,
going back to Buckley real quick. We did He's always
in for this fun stuff, and so you know on
our podcast, we did all kinds of just fun funny ship.
So we had the you remember the chip challenge.

Speaker 4 (01:08:20):
Yeah, so he have one.

Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
He gave me one. He hit me with one. Oh
he did oh yeah, no, no, no, no, no, the hot chip,
the spicy chip. Yeah, the Hot Chip show for those guys,
I'll send you that one.

Speaker 4 (01:08:31):
A different show, and we did.

Speaker 3 (01:08:32):
We did one. We did one where it was like
a boxing match. It's a whole production thing ends up
being rock paper scissors and he ends up winning and
reaching into a thing with with and then there's a
hot chip in there somewhere and I ended up with it.

Speaker 4 (01:08:48):
Oh wow, so you had to do it?

Speaker 3 (01:08:50):
Well? It was it was we were we were fighting
over whoever won the Rock Paper scissors. The other person
had to grab a chip and you couldn't see. You
just had to put full then and you actually got
the show if I go and I'll tell you what.
It's Eric and I love spicy stuff. My wife is
is Latino and I love spicy stuff. But I'm telling

(01:09:11):
you what that that chip is fucking hot. Yeah, it's
no game man, Yeah, yeah, I.

Speaker 4 (01:09:17):
Heard your gut real.

Speaker 2 (01:09:19):
George listen man, thank you, thank you for being on
the show. Is there anything that we forgot that you
want to talk about? Uh, it's been fantastic having you.

Speaker 3 (01:09:26):
On the show.

Speaker 4 (01:09:27):
Yeah, great vibe, brother, how we hit it?

Speaker 3 (01:09:29):
Yeah, you guys. Yeah, it's like I want to be here. Yeah,
let's go anytime.

Speaker 4 (01:09:34):

Speaker 3 (01:09:36):

tour the facility and yeah, and you can get some sushi,
some fun stuff. Yeah, Susho, I got I got the

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
