is at one, Christopher Wright and I am at Joe
grand fifty two our guest today. I'll tell you, man,
this group right here already dealt with some tragedy after
one of the members were shot this year, Cut though,
decided to continue rest in piece of Juice Boy. Uh
(01:07):
you know he just all my heart goes out to
that as I hear the music. And they're from sam
Matale Bay area. Y'all don't know, but I'm from the
Bay as well, San Jose Reside, born and raised in
the four oh eight, James Like High school to seven.
I ride till I die. You know how we do
it from the four oh eight. Anyhow, who sky but
cutthrow you know place there their stamped within the Polynesian community.
(01:28):
So these cats are doing it. They're stopping their mobbing.
You'll hear creative yet candid bars from the bar. I love.
This is all from the from your website to which
I loved, bar for bar word played from Rich Rolling.
Thank you Rich for coming on the show with us.
By the way, brother and he's no fucking little cat either,
which is right. And it's stimulating conscious delivery from Juice
Boy and encouraging sanguine which is a big word that
(01:51):
you guys pull out of the closet for that, which
is a nice elegant sound. I had to look it up,
going wait a minute, any fucking dudes are making me
google a word over there. I can't just say a
word and not know exactly what I'm saying. But bottom line,
this dude's poetic right here. With some strong, smooth messages
from Mr Music and Uh after listening to some songs,
(02:12):
that's no doubt man. Together they create a rare hip
hop sound, creative wrapping R and B and an Island
reggae audience. It's Cutthroat mode dot com. Check them out
on I g I Cutthroat four or five four. Thank
you brothers, Rich and uh Mr Music for coming on
and being here with us. Man, thanks for having And
I gotta tell you when we first listen to the
music earlier, Blue and I right, we're we're sitting there
(02:33):
and doing some research on you guys, and I'm trying
to look up the music and I play it now.
Mind you. He was, he was signed with death Row Records.
He's been on toward it. I've worked at Wild mighty
four nine, a show called The dog House from the
Bay Area. I don't know if you guys know that
you might be young. I'm big Joe for the dog House.
So I've run from the doghouse to power one of
those six kiss that fami. I do more radio than
(02:55):
you can imagine. Right when we heard that ship, I
looked at Blue, I said, whether fucker he comes, he
sits next, we're on the desk. We don't. We don't
do this, all right, So I just listening. Hell, are
ill hustle from the next desk over because we share
the area and he won't like do but yeah, but
my point is he comes next to me on the knee.
(03:16):
So now we're listening to its side by side, then
together like right, and we're sitting here and I'm looking
at him. I go, dog, I can hear this like
now on the radio. So then I had to funk
with it and go to your YouTube page, and I
gotta go look for more music. I don't click another
one and another one. I'm four songs in, going why
(03:37):
aren't these cats on the air? Now? Right? I was
so impressed with what I heard, and I gave the
credentials of what we are and what we did because
I don't stroke anybody. You know what I'm saying. It
ain't my thing. I don't if I don't. Yeah, okay, no, welcome,
nice to see you guys, cool music whatever, whatever, This
ship is fire. Who's producing? Who are you guys with
(03:57):
to create such amazing beau the ful music? Because like
you said, everything in your bio, the lot it's it's
still in your face, uh, but it's smooth, you know
what I mean? And and rest in peace. Juice boy,
you're like the Nate dog of fucking what you was
doing with these hooks and ship right, it was like
when I heard that and I just found out that
that was the cat that path that gave me goose
(04:18):
bumps and made me go no, Like your guys, music
feels like it already has longevity, you know what I mean?
So talk about how who's producing this? How do you
guys get together? Well? Who produced this latest album? Juice
more was shakes a right, and he's actually from sokal In, Ontario.
(04:38):
So yeah, we leaked up with him through our brother
a though he's part of a plus family. But you know,
we were all with four or five four straight out
of San Jose, so that sat is like our second home.
Who are you guys messing with that? Okay, that's not
right now. I don't know if I know who you
who's his dad? Might know? Its d okay tracks a
(05:01):
million I remember that. Yeah, our sound really just comes
from you know, how we grew up, but we try
to keep it as really it can be, you know,
like like you said, it's in your face. But at
the same time, it's smooth because we were raised by
real o gs, you know, so we know how to
get get the attention. But talk that ship that, you
know what I mean, right, But it's smooth and nice though,
you know what I mean. That's what I liked about it.
(05:22):
It's smooth and nice and I'm smacking the face. Were
gonna hugging, hill chilling, smoking, drinking and party, yeah right,
but don't get it twisted. That's how I feel. Like.
When I was listening to it and they were watching
the videos and me and he were both saying this,
We're like, these cats give us that old school feeling
it is and gave us a feeling. You know. I'll
tell you what we we We get a lot of
(05:42):
artists that want to be on our show or and
and we try to, you know, give back to the
community as much as possible, but sometimes people don't make
the cut, you know. And so when we were listening
to it, we're like, yeo, these dudes are really talented,
like you know what I mean. Like and a lot
of times we'll hear stuff and be like, oh, it's cool,
but it's so and so sund from this or so
and so that, and so we'll let it, let it
fly to um. But but your guys, music stands on
(06:04):
its own. Like you guys have some quality, quality music.
And I'll tell you what, um you know, I think
if you guys just keep pushing this, you know it's
to the moon. Where do you guys? Are you guys
on tour? What are you guys doing right now? Uh?
To to see your project explode? Man? Basically, you know
we're just you know we're to miss the cream visuals,
you know, we we we got we got the content
(06:25):
right now. But basically just trying to stay in their
face and you know, get a little just trying to
stand in their face and you know, uh, create more
visuals and have a lot for them to see, you
know what I mean. Yeah, definitely have this group come
together rich rolling man. We all childhood friends. We come
from San Matel, California. You know, shure of you to
be exact, it's on the East side and uh, we
all you know, we all went to the the same church,
our parents all close and that we were very close
(06:47):
knit community. That Polynesian community is stick together. And yeah,
but actually my older brother were just a year and
a half apart shot so you know, just him doing
what he's doing, like that's my big brother. Man, he's tight.
I'm gonna do that too, basically, you know, like everybody
in the uighblehood tried to wrap at first, you know,
(07:08):
and then we just slowly just connected. Well. And not
only that, for folks who don't know this geographic area,
San Mateo isn't necessarily known for putting out some big artists.
You got E. P A that's gonna put something out.
You've got San Francisco. Then you gotta cross the bridge
and you gotta go to Oakland or then you gotta
go up to Vallejo or something like that. And even
San Jo doesn't get the wraps that you know that
Rapping Forte was the one back in the day that
(07:30):
did something. Do you know your way to San Jose,
you know what I mean. So when you look at
Bay Area hip hop artists, which you know, I got
that Bay Area stamp like official, I know, and see
it and see some cats from saying Matto like I've
seen let alone Polynesian. I grew up like I'm from actual.
I had a lot of Polynesian boys, you know what
I mean. And I worked radio up in San Francisco
for years, so I'd go to hunt Hunter's Point, meet
(07:51):
all the Samoans up there and another Polynesian cats, hang out,
smoke blunts, do do our thing. So for me, when
I seen you guys and checked out the website, I
got this proud feeling for you guys just want to
support it and I want to do anything I could.
We were both we can get behind it, you know
what I mean. Because it's like if you if you
(08:12):
hear something great, you know, and we know you know,
we're on radio, you know what I'm saying. We're in
a hundred thirty four countries, so when we hear ship,
we're like, oh, that's just that's that that could go.
You know, we know it, you know. So there's record
pools that we deal with people that are in the industry,
and we could, you know, we were looking at like
we can get behind something like this because I think
it's it's one it needs to be heard. The sound
(08:32):
that you guys have It reminds me of of you know,
the the nineties field. But right now, you know what
I mean? What's something he said too? He goes, this
is a new, up and coming modern day tribe. Yeah right, yeah,
I like to different vibe. Vibe but like the pioneers,
yeah go get it said yeah, yeah, it was different.
(08:52):
But that's what we said looking at it. And then
the thing, you know, you guys got great music, and
you guys got a cannabis brand name juice. Right, is
that correct? That's what it's called juice. Yeah, that's that's
kind of under wraps from now. But right now we're
pushing out this actually right here? What is that right there? Uh?
That's right here. This is from my brother Big Seth
Exotics right here. So it's a tongue and fruit drink.
(09:14):
You know that my brother had turned into some cannabis.
You know what I mean? So is it actually flower?
What is it? Exactly? Yeah? It's some flower. Where can
people get this app? Man? You can follow thy exotics
folks out there. That o t a I okay exotics
and that's a drink and it's a drinking a tongue
(09:36):
and drink. Nice. Nice? What what is It consist of watermelon,
coconut um, a little half and half and some I
can't tell you how the rest. Yeah, drinking one of
those cho style things. Yeah yeah yeah. And now that's
(09:57):
and that's a flower that people can get. This is
a yeah, this is this is a flower you can
you could uh, you can inquire about it Big Self Exotics. Okay,
Can I see the brandy requim? Can I smoke it? No?
It's like, let me hit that. Okay, so you guys
got the full package and everything. All this stuff is
going good. Let's see here. Let's take a good little
nose test mm hmm smell. Oh yeah, it's got a
(10:18):
nice nose on it, and it's got a good look.
This is nice. This is real, real nice. All that
all right? Let me check it out old time. That's
that old tie from Big Seth Exotics. Nice. Are you
guys more in Bay Area? Dispensaries are all over California
or where you guys. Don't even think it's not in
the stores right now. Okay, so you're not getting ready
(10:39):
real soon. Okay, I think got all the info on
this page on Big Self Exotics. Alright, cool, So we
got the cannabis brands and we got juice coming soon.
Let's get back to this stuff, Mr Music. Big brothers
singing rapping as a kid. How at one point did
you go, hey, big brother, I want to do it too.
How old was that? Uh? Damn? Probably when I was
like twelve. I don't know. I just you know everything
(11:01):
my brother did. I just admired you. So him being
in the streets with all the boys and just you know,
even putting on for his name, and then you know,
just me, he's bigger, way bigger than me. So me
being the young dude on road to now I broke,
stay off the streets like anything with the music. Let
me go to studio with you now, I mean, stay home.
But I'm persistent, man, I don't give a damn but
(11:23):
hearing you in the music, dog, like when we're hearing
that song before we played it. We're gonna play this
for you guys all my life. And when you guys
hear this, if I'm not mistaken, you're the second one
that comes on. Correct. Yeah, So when you came on
that second verse, even when before we met you, we
were listening to the first one was dope. Second like
it was fire fire, fire, So all you guys when
you came in, Dog, it was great. And it's funny
(11:44):
because I think you were in the video too, right,
wearing a beanie one of your boys right here, and
from not mistake, I've ever seen him in the video everybody,
and I remember seeing it and I keep staring at like,
is he in the music? Where do I know this?
We have the video and just but Dog, you came spit?
So at what point at twelve you want to get
into it? But at what point did he go? All right?
(12:05):
You know what? I think? I gotta give your name, Mr. Music, Like,
I mean, how did you at what point did you
spent so rich used to have a studio, homemade studio
in his room and we used to wrap in his closet.
Will Me and his little brother used to wrap in
the closet when he would be away at school. Would
just cut school down the street. And then, uh, I
was just persistent on that. And then it got to
the point where he brought it to our to our
(12:27):
house in our garage and then they were just in there,
you know, smoking and making music. And I was that
su let me get on this, and my brothers like,
let's see what you got and I got in you.
I mean all that practice pay the truth came out
in the booth and there you do this and then
that's doing that at that point and say this make
a group. Yeah. So my brother and Richard were already together,
(12:49):
so they were called last of the eighties. I mean
because they're they're both eighty nine. So when I got in, Yeah,
so so last of the eighties is like last of
the real because you know I mean that. Yeah, that's
so fucking crazy because I graduated high school in ninet
to ninety and I feel like I look younger than
both of you. We've been through some ship. I don't
(13:09):
have to prove that. I'm just trying to compliment myself.
Oh you know, I was old. I'm getting and sometimes
I see young cats in the Bay and that gets
me on, pup. I gotta think of a young cat.
I'm Bay Area and take my old as a homeoker.
I don't barking out enough right now, let me go.
It's so great though, Like I said, I just love
when I see that support. And speaking of support, how
(13:31):
is the Bay Area supporting you guys? Well, the Polynesian community,
I feel like you just he just stepped. Are we
still rolling there? We're good no matter what. Let's just
keep the Polynesian community in the Bay's like it's it's
a lot of us out here. So we have everybody's attention,
anybody in the States that we have their attention. But
(13:52):
as far as uh like all the other I'm talking
like the wild An really got too much of You know,
you need pool out here for you, you need your
red taking the stairs. Well you know what though that
you keep hitting them streets like that and you keep
doing their thing, It's gonna happen. You know, hip hop
(14:13):
started right where you guys live at right there at Stanford,
which was Kevy keV. I don't know if you know
the history of how hip hop came to the Bay.
Kevy keV is an old school o G hip radio
DJ that started on the Stanford radio station and he
brought it to the base. On my point is you
right there in the mix, and you know, if you
need to contact with Big von that's you know, Big
(14:33):
von us to intern for me back in the day.
So all these young all these cats that are doing
things over there, just keep doing your thing because your music,
I feel, like I said, speaks for itself. For those
who want to hear it, check it out. This is
all my life, produced by Shakes Shakes, so r let's go,
(15:00):
oh my life. I've been working fetish, sad fice, I've

things off the muscle and I can bark. At least
I'm killing them every time that I double lists of murdency,

duffl like puzzles. I keep a pieces. It's lovel they're
speaking pieces. It's funk with it. I'm gonna reach it.
Ain't squeezy here in to tell your screech in the
freeway decor reach your half for freel like you don't
(16:28):

four Live presented by the bud Tender Awards with Cannabis
Talk one on one, I Heart Media and Travis Barker.
Go to G four live dot com to register while
exhibitors space is still available. Hello and welcome back to
(18:37):
Cannabis Talk one on one, the world's number one source
for everything cannabis. We want to give a special shout
out to Dope Minerals, Tirpene Warehouse and G four Live
going down at the Mendalai Bay on the one to
the three of May, and we will be there and
it's gonna be going down, and not only us. I
think we need to get these cats out there too,
for Sam and Tale Cutthroat. I mean, you guys are
(18:58):
doing your thing, fall them online at cut wrote rolling
at cut Rote four five four Uh they guy, of
course that sound you just heard that song right there
all my life and the first person May Rest in
Peace Juice Boy, and then it went on to Mr
Music and the rich rolling ends up the song right there?
(19:20):
Who actually produced a beat on that song? Because that
right there was just that was also yeah yeah California? Yeah,
oh nice? How many on this like on the website
are on the YouTube page of those because I did
like about the first four songs listen to those? Who
else is producing some of the music because the first
(19:40):
top four, like I said, I listened to and one
of those top four where all my life again, so
I got to rehear it, but I was like, when
I heard it again, I was like, yeah, this is
another one. I like, it's the same one. Why did
this sound familiar? But who else is on this? That
whole album? Juice Modem is all shakes? All right? We
just locked in with him. Yeah. This was right before
before my brother, before my brother passed. We started the
(20:02):
album and then my brother passed and then we had
to finish the album, which is Us to Us three
because shakes. But yeah, other than that, um, I don't
know if you caught win of it, but right before that,
which it ended on the December three, we dropped a
hundred songs consecutively every day songs in a hundred days.
(20:23):
So we started September fifteen, every single day until December.
We dropped the song every single day, which I don't
think has been done before. And these are already produced
in the camp are we just trying to that were done?
But we keep going. We specifically had fourteen you started
with fourteen, we got we got fourteen days. We gotta
(20:44):
keep going. I just kept going. And then my brother
actually died in the middle of it, so it was
like day and we had to make that hard choice,
like we have to finish. I mean, we started a project,
let's go Pete. Rather we're doing this for you. That's it.
The marathon continues, and the journey continued most journey, Yeah,
and as it should because it makes it even that
much more. Like I said, we were already feeling you before.
(21:05):
Now here in a journey like this makes it go fun. Man,
what can we do for these cats? And now the
cannabis how does he even coming about with the music?
And then the cannabis brand fall into line especially A
lot of people may not know, but that Polynesian culture
sometimes it's borderline taboosh. A lot of old families over that.
Get your ass over here, boy quit some over that dope. Yeah,
(21:28):
old school Mexican style, you dope, it's dope. So cats
don't know what polynesia are the old school some more
like it's it's a different culture. Were family and Barry,
get your ass over you better go to church. And
we're singing, we dancing, we're doing our thing. And you
may see these big apologies. You think, oh, they can't
kill no man, they grew up in the church more
(21:48):
than likely more than that. It's more of a family exactly.
And they're smoking weed. That's dope. Yeah, So how does
that go with the fan band like that? Like how
do they look at that? Yeah? Cool? Initial initially you know,
of course, you know, the o GS has some problems
with it, you know what I mean, I call my
aunties and uncles and basically, like you know, like I said,
(22:08):
dope is dope, but don't matter what kind of it is.
And weed is just as bad as you know, the
worst ship in the world, you know what I mean,
doing smack right to the same ship. So when when
they're smelling it, they're kicking us out of the house,
like you know, you know, eventually you're don't have to
accept it because you know, especially where we're at the
northern California, it's everywhere. But I think that's the life
decision where you want to go against your family, like
(22:29):
what you know, it's right to know? I well, not
only it's right, but then you look at your mother,
your grandmother whatever, you're like, my grandma, you know that
whole shoulder. Let me put some of this cream on.
Oh my god, that feels so good. What is that?
That's called cannabis? That same day, the chocolap side your head,
like what, try this under your tongue and the little
(22:51):
kicks arom the time. What's that? Why am I feeling better?
That's called CBD. And it's just so funny though, because
cats don't know that. The older family, the ogs like
you're ferd, you're rich, they look at that all. They
don't even understand the medical side of it all, which
even that Polynesian culture, I'm sure that's a that's a
barrier you guys are breaking, Oh for sure. I mean,
you know, we first generation tongue is you know what
(23:12):
I mean? So our parents came here from the motherland,
like and at the end of the day, there's a
lot of customs that you know that there's a lot
of customers that they had to get accustomed to that
you know, they weren't really necessarily familiar with and accepting of.
But throughout time and ship, you know, you're just gonna
have to. You know, when the news said it is legal,
they're exactly, it must be. Okay, yeah, alcohol is it's cool.
(23:37):
It's cool. Yeah, that's how they think. So now you
can smoke in the backyard and it's a little easier.
Like Mommy, I went and bought this down the street,
for God's sake. I didn't buy it out the corner
no more. Who we could maybe the corner a little cheaper.
So let me ask you, rich, Rich what's what's your
favorite record that you've produced or with your team here? Man?
(23:58):
My favorite record, man um, it's probably when we did
a while back. I think it was like sixty is
called Not Tomorrow. Okay, that's that's probably one of my favorite. Uh,
just the message in the whole the melodies behind the composition,
you know what I mean it was. I think you know,
it will speak for itself once y'all here, but it's
it's just one of those captivating sounds. Yeah, and Mr Music,
(24:20):
what about you? I honestly think it's all my life.
Just the way that we recorded the record was all together.
That's kind of probably our last fun time in the
studio altogether. So good memory, Yeah, great memory, but great
record too. So yeah, I think that's my favorite one. Yeah,
that's a it's my favorite one so far. I've only
heard like three three. Yeah, we heard four good ones
that we were all four of them were liking, but
(24:40):
that one was the standout one, and maybe because we
heard it first and then we heard it again, but
it's still stood out. Is that the first one you
guys are pushing as an EP? Yeah, that was actually
the first single off of the first video and everything
first that album for the album. But you're gonna you
dig into our archive, you're gonna find different genres. Yeah,
different stuff. We got some poppy stuff we got I
(25:02):
got a country countries. Are you serious? You know what's funny?
As you said that, I'm just looking at you smile
and laugh. That just takes me to my like growing
up with my polonies, the la Fossa family, and we
sit there and listen. They listen to country music and
It's just be so funny because they're sitting there drinking
a beer and listen to country music, white writing, some
(25:23):
big dude, white rice and spam, you know, putting catch
up in that motherfucker Like, well, what's that dinner fire?
Sound familiar? Right? Cats? I grew up with Tamor and
h La Fassa, Joseph Dolf for all these cats. And
when you smile like that, you took me to that
(25:44):
memory of them sitting on the corner, sitting there listening
to country music, And to me, that's that that Poloniesian
style though, right, Like everybody has and we all dabbled
into something, but the Polynesian culture just hasn't explored it
to the world. I feel like, you know what I mean.
So for you cats to be doing this and putting
out music like this, I think it's a great look
and a great feel for the country to understand what
(26:08):
the Polynesians are about. Right. It's not just we're not
to step there with the grass skirts, fucking dancing and
when you go to Hawaii, yeah, I never were one
of those. Bottom don't be mad, not yet. In a
couple of years, bro, you'll be out there on one
for sure listen. Um, you know, it's funny. I got
(26:28):
some some family and friends Tofika, a mod from from
San Diego. There's a big tongue and families out there.
You know. I don't know if you guys are aware
of that, but you guys were saying on break that
you guys did some tours and stuff like in Australia,
New Zealand, things like yeah, how was that? Man? It
was me and Juice. We actually went Rich couldn't go
to that tour, but it was really just a two
(26:49):
day tour, back to back shows in the same area.
You got Felons or something like that. We're gonna we're
gonna cut that. Yeah, you can't get on the plane
and we gotta put you together. Ye earlier when I
said I did forty nine days in that set there,
it was a long time. It's funny because I did
the America's Most Wanted Tour in in two thousand ten
(27:11):
out there maybe a two thousand, yeah, two thousand ten,
two thousand eleven. And I was with Savage, you know,
the artist Savage, you know what I mean? And and um,
and Savage was great. But we did New Zealand. We
did uh what is it Australia. But we did, uh
the Olympic Park Center and then we went over to Brisbane,
you know what I mean. So we hit Brisbane, New
(27:31):
Zealand and uh and uh I mean that not Alaska, right, No,
that tour was good, was the truth. Man. We did
that with Bone Thugs and Harmony. Um. Uh Snoop was
doing the Good Vibrations tour and um there's some bit
badass tours out there, but they have a huge you know,
uh Polynesian you know families out there in New Zealand
stuff like that. So you guys had a good market.
(27:53):
How was that tour for you? Did enjoy it? Yeah?
We saw that both both nights and uh yeah, the
love was just different. Yeah, you know, you get more
of away from home, so you feel it more genuine.
It's crazy how that how it works sometimes. I mean,
like I said, I'm born and raising the Babe, but
came to l A and blew up on Power one
oh six and then I started working with Kiss at
fan Ryan's Secret. But like I mean, granted, I was
on a big show in the Bay Areas, the highest
(28:13):
rated body show ever. The doghouse was huge. But when
I see artists that are trying to do their things.
It's just always takes something like that. Sometimes you gotta
leave your neighborhood. You gotta leave the city, let alone
the state. Sometimes you know what I'm saying, and the
other people embrace it more. I mean, I see your
guys is following. You guys got a huge following on
I G the YouTube. Everything's pushing and popping. I see
(28:34):
you guys are here with us because some management contacted us.
We've seen what we've seen, peanuts in it, we liked it.
We have you on the show. What is more to expect?
And what's it gonna take? Do you guys think to
to get that big label to be Hey, hey, what's it?
You know we want you, man, We just need a chance. Man.
You know, all you need to do is here as once,
you know, and we're just gonna keep working hard in
(28:54):
the miss all that. So, yeah, that was kind of
like the mentality behind the dropping in the hundred songs
can set was let's just shoot, let's shoot the basket
a honey times. One of them got to go in,
one of them gotta go in. Are you all hundred
of those songs are up right, now they're all on
YouTube YouTube, okay, but you don't have them up on
like Spotify and all the others. No, no, no yet,
(29:15):
Well that you better go do some homework and put
it up on there on Apple, Spotify, every do that ship.
Get your SoundCloud popping, because I'll tell you right now,
the sound you guys have is great. Are you guys
trying to collab with any other artists on top? Anytime? Anytime?
Anybody features? Have you guys done? Anybody? Anybody big? Anybody big?
We got stupid young from out here? Who else we
(29:37):
didn't do music with? We got left the Farrell? How
about this? Who do you want to work with? Man?
Uh one team? I don't know really like I have
fun with just us? Yeah yeah no, But I mean
if you want to work with the artists I like
like Blasts and Rust. I like their artists, try you
know me with my flavor to you know what I mean?
Flavor with that. We know Russ's management? Who else? Who else?
(29:59):
Who else? Is hard man? I like? I like melodic dudes?
Like you know it was big game? What else got that?
I don't know? Big? Like? That's funny that you say that,
because exactly you guys are conscious like that. It's different,
but it is, but it's it's conscious, but it's still
smack you in your face, but consciously that I love.
(30:22):
That's why I think I like you guys so much,
because you're right to me. I think you're speaking more
to me my my era of hip hop, but yet
with the new conscious era too. That's what I'm saying,
your guys, this sounded so dope. I know the kids
love us, though I don't know because you guys are
still young and cool like that. I mean, you guys
are bringing it in but still with that O G flavor,
that that that that's in your soul. I mean like
(30:42):
we could feel that, I could feel that what I'm
listening to you guys. You guys have a soulful, deeper
sound than just some young b Yeah. Crais the Lord
all day every day, you know. I mean, when we
come back, we're gonna praise the Lord and do the
high five right here with these kids. And they're doing it.

and the reason why they're gonna blow up because they
got that church and that church back phone. You know,
I mean, you can never go wrong. It's the foundation.
So we've got five good questions for you guys. It's
called the high five that we like to do with
(32:10):
everybody that comes on the show. We're gonna start with
you Rich Rolling You'll go first, and then we'll go
to you Mr Music. You'll answer the same exact question
to Mr Music. You get a few seconds to think
about your answer. Question number one, how are you? How
old are you the first time you smoke cannabis? And
where'd you get it from? Shiit? I was? I think
(32:30):
I was ten years old here and stole it from
my uncle's ass track. It was a dub. It was
a little dude. How old I think ten? That's a
good time, might there? Mr Music? I was twelve and
my Mexican homie just had it nice right there in
sammy tail right here. Really always a good thing. Question
(32:54):
number two of the high five, what is your favorite
way to use cannabis? Rich Man? Definitely a smoky I
like tasting it. Yeah, A joint blunt? What ball? Now?
A bong? Man? I'm getting t easier that way, smoother though, Yeah,
ball are nice glass bloss killing. Mr Music, you'll be
upset with this. I don't even smoke anymore. Oh good
(33:14):
for you. Don't worry here, do I? It's all good.
Use some oils though, a lot of Yeah, barely smoked.
I never Oh no, oh dog, you use those oils.
It takes the pain away like nothing else. And you
don't got nothing, Just two oils under your tongue with
some good THC and you're sitting there. Callie effects has
(33:35):
a good one too. You can find it at your
local dispensary of minerals. I just took it edible. Man,
I'm over here sweat and think I'm I'm milting. He
really did, And then was that I see apart? What
are you doing? He goes, I don't know my back.
We eat in edibles the last two weeks. Question number
three of the high five Craziest place you ever use cannabis? Man?
(33:59):
At church, in the park. Just at school? I mean, yes,
that's cool. Yeah, up in the school bathroom. I got
caught though, did you what high school? You guys go
to set for a little bit, a little bit and
I let you go out with all of them? I
think I touched. I graduated from Millbray. I think went
(34:20):
to all of them too. Yeah really yeah Peninsula, Me
and Juice went to the same expellasion school. Yeah, I
just dropped out that we call that. We call that
continuation or adult school. Yeah. For those of you don't know,
there was Foothill Adult School by my house growing up.
I think it Santals. I think it was called Columbus.
They called it Columbus high school and then became Columbus Tech.
(34:41):
But let me tell you how to hold my high
school was My high school had its own daycare center
on it. Oh yeah, same here. That's how crazy I upbringing.
I was in San Jose. Swear to god, the kids
be coming to school, dropping the kids off at the Yeah,
we had that sometimes in the neighborhoods. That's the way
(35:02):
it goes down. Question number four of the high five.
What is your go to munchy when you get high? Rich? Man? Um,
I'm about to say cookies and milk? Man? Nice? What
kind of cookies? Oreos or some chips? Ahoy, Yeah, you're
down with those. You've got some new white orioles in
there in the room. I just fat, I just set
(35:25):
every Yeah you see something, He's like, I can't be
looking at that with my fat. I want to just
it's like just starts drifting, like exactly when you were
smoking Mr Music or your go to Damn, I don't
remember the last time I had munchies, but I don't
probably talk about con Yeah, I mean it's consistent. It's consistent.
(35:47):
Is gonna be the same one wherever you go, whatever
states you're in. You see it talking about you know
exactly what the you're getting, which is a good thing.
Question number five of the high five cutthroat mode is
the group right here Rich Rolling Mr Music. If you
can smoke cannabis with anyone dead or alive, who would
it be? And why? Man, this is a that's a
hard ask question. I got two of them, but I'm
(36:09):
gonna have to go with Bob Marley, you know, just
because of the conversation, you know what I mean. My
second choice would have been snooped. That's a good second choice.
He's coming in today. So and then I got some
form Mr Music my brother. Yeah, brother, did you ever
smoke with him? Yeah? Of course on toys. That's not
the only time I really smoked, just to fall asleep,
(36:31):
like you know, road tours, Yeah, twelve our drives and
driving and passed. When when you were on those tours? Man,
what were you guys? Were we who was booking your shows?
You guys a booking to yourself? No? Uh damn? How
did we get those stories? Uh? Well we were actually
the label four or five four was booking our shows
at that time. Are big bros? Big seth exotics? You know?
(36:52):
The was this weed? He was he managed just for
for earlier a half of our careers. And he's the
one who really, you know, put it all together. What
about isn't there uh do go gold Toes out there?
Isn't he His name is no Yeah, his name is no.
Uh all listen, you know back because they have a
black and brown um back in the days like seventeen
(37:15):
reasons we know where the Latins and and Africans are,
you know, uh clicked up and made music together and
it was that's that's when I had heard a big
gold Toes for the first time. Doesn't he put on
some tourists and stuff, and he puts on a lot
of artists. I see him with a lot of new artists. Yeah,
you know what I mean. I remember hearing from Shark
Tank or something Shark Sharks folks from four uh eight
putting out a lot of music. But you guys are
(37:35):
doing it from the Bay area once again. Folks. Check
them out on Instagram at cut throat four or five four.
What's the YouTube pages at the same thing. Yeah, just
cut the mode. You can get everything. I cut them
mode dot com, cut through mode dot com and God
Willing the cannabis brand juice will be coming out shortly.
Is there anything else from missing that you guys want
to promote and let people know about. He's looking at
(37:57):
something I don't want to mess up again. You go ahead,
you want to come in here and say come on
and make sure, come on, come on. Know what y'all
could do, y'all you can make sure y'all go get
that Juice Mode album and don't cut throw mode dot
com do anything'll come over here, comes, don't check the text,
come over here, speak on the merchant for everybody in
the bay. They will be on a promo run May
(38:18):
tent through the twelfth in the Bay area. They'll be
with Wayne Haynes rig Lely in Sacramento. They'll be all
over So check them out there it is man, make
sure you look out for them. Man, and listen, you guys,
I'm telling you, like sincerely, we really are fans of
your music. Bro, Like yeah, you guys, thank you man,
you guys, you guys literally have something great. Um, you know,
(38:39):
and and just I love watching this. I understand it's
a battle, and remember the battles only in your head,
you know. Um. Dealing with the right you know, the
right people is about putting yourself in front of those people,
making the drive like you did today, stepping up and
showing up in front of people, because if you don't,
then you miss that opportunity. And a lot of people
don't understand that. And so I encourage you guys to
(39:01):
to expand your vision because when you do, the ability
to be wherever you want is right here. It's within
and you can tap that man. So keep sharing your
story with him, please, and share with everybody listening to
your story. Um bu being signed and then almost the
next sign and then the sign o ship. So so
here's just just I don't know why. I just feel
like they need to hear. Yeah. So I mean I
(39:21):
was at UM. I was at Cannam Studios, which was
deaf Al Records early in the nineties, but you know,
I'm in my forties now, um. And then after that
went to Atlantic for like I got. We called it
the death Row curse. Everybody who left death Row, you know,
they signed us somewhere and then they put us on
the shelf and they wouldn't let you come out anywhere.
You know. So when Independent after that created my own
(39:43):
recording studios here in Orange County, which where I met Pitt.
You know this is thousand years ago, and uh, I
did a publicitation. If he's meeting people, Hi, I'm Jason,
Jason Jason Williams here. Um so so so anyways, I
ended up, you know, going on the America's Most Wanted Tour,
which I was telling you, and I put that whole
(40:04):
tour together, you know, and it was I got a
cat that was like, you know, hey, my brother you
know owns OZ camp, you know, which is uh they
do commercials for UH toyotas and all these other stuff.
Can you do some commercials for us? We started doing
commercials for them. And mind you use a bald headed
little Mexican you know what I'm saying. Total style thumped out.
(40:27):
It wasn't this. Don't let the don't let the button
up the three inches of I always tell people, my
my hair is three inches from being bald and two
inches from having a in your face, you know what
I'm saying. But at the end of the at the
end of the day, so I was, I was there
and and um you know what we ended up, you know,
getting on the I did a publicity something which is
that right there on the wall. It's that that plaque
(40:48):
from the Los Angeles Times when I hit the front
page and we um we just got off our tour
within New Zealand in Australia and I changed my group
name from the Imperial Assassins to the Imperial Star. And
everybody was like, what then are you doing? This is
you're playing roulette with your industry. You know, you're on
tour with Corrupt and and you know, Dog Pound and
this and bone Thugs and why would you change the
(41:09):
name of your group. And I'm like, well, Imperial Assassins
when I was out there had no opportunity because in
Australia they were letting me cuss on air. They were
talking about Coca Cola sponsorships. But the guy from Coca
Cola said, I said, well, what about Cali. Can you
give me some you know, some sponsors out here? Cally
He's like, Callie, will never work with you know, in
the United States, with the company with the name of Assassins.
And I was like, hun. He was like, yeah, Imperial
(41:31):
Assassins will never do anything, he says, but here we can,
we can work with you. So I was kind of
like what. So I was like okay, cool, And at
the same time I watched what I did to the crowd.
I hypnotized the crowd into being on some hoodie ship,
and I thought, damn, this is horrible what I'm doing,
you know. And it was kind of sucked up because
I seen, you know, what I was, you know, capable of.
And I came back. I'm like, all right, I'm gonna
(41:52):
calling Imperial stars and I started doing more pop, more
party rock, kind of fun stuff, you know. Um, right
before l M f A, you and all of them
start jumping off FM. Far a movement, and UH ended
up doing my publicity stunt, became sixty three most googled
in the world once to the Grammys Top ten Grammy
publicity stunts in music history. I still have it. I'm
like number seven in the world for the biggest music
(42:12):
publicity stunts, and um with his which with Michael Jackson,
President Barack Obama, Janet Jackson, Um, you know, I think
Katie Perry and a couple other people with me and
that in that group. But long story short, when I
did that publicity stunt and I got Universal Records hit
me up and they were asking me, you know, hey,
we want to sign you on a deal. Whenna do
(42:34):
a fifty fifty joint venture deal. We're gonna offer you, um,
some cash and a couple of tours, like a three
year tour, you know, this and that. And I got
the deal, and I was listening to my team around me,
you know. And and keep in mind my team, you know,
you never asked someone how to get out of the
hood that still lives in the hood. Just remember that,
you know what I'm saying, because they don't know how
to get out, you know what I mean, you know,
(42:54):
and it's very difficult when you think of that, you know.
And and so the homies were you know, gassing me up,
like if they off with you joint venture, they offered
you a hundred racks, then you know, come back with
you know, sixty forty and you know, five racks, you know.
So of course I you know, I'm listening to the
homies in the hood, and um and I went back
to them counter offered, and they said, no, thank you,
(43:15):
will pass. And then I was like, okay, cool. And
then I waited a week and I was like, hey, humbly,
I'd like to, you know, take that offer to you guys.
Did you know I'm excited to work with you guys,
and they're like, no, thank you will pass. And I'm like,
but you know, if we could try to do this
or that, they were like, no, thank you will pass.
And the whole time was just no, thank you will
pass and never got that deal again. Ten years later.
(43:37):
You know, um, I'm I'm you know, doing all kinds
of ship. You know. I ended up becoming public speaker
and and uh, you know, doing a bunch of other things,
a couple of different TV shows that I was working with.
I ended up coming to a radio station and and
you know, working there and uh doing a show. I
was trying. They were trying to get me to do
a hip hop show. I was over the hip hop thing.
(43:58):
I was like, no, I don't want to. I want
to do it. End of the show. They wouldn't let me.
We ended up at a midnight slot, ended up becoming
the number one show on one on one point five
FM k c I, and then Joe Grande. We brought
Joe Grande on board with the propers at Law and
uh we we got a deal over at I Heeart Media,
which Joe quarterbacked us right in with Big Boy, which
I always want to thank him and Big Boy for
(44:19):
for introducing us to Dock and all the cats up
at I heeart Um and then they signed us to
I Heart and put us on a three year deal.
But when we got that deal, you know, these guys
were like, we need to counter you know. So they
started countering and I literally was like, hey, yeah, I'll
let you say it. Joe, I mean, he goes, if
this doesn't happen, I'm gonna punch you on the face. Yeah,
(44:41):
because if you guys, you know, I can't be countery
like this anywhere with a big company. Now, I'm like,
let's just take the deal. You know what I'm saying, like,
don't don't you know, don't sleep un But they pushed him.
We almost well, it got a little slippery, it got
a little slipper. We want. Well, yeah, we didn't get
what we want. We got the same thing they offer from. Yeah,
we got this boom the bottom This is the bottom line.
(45:04):
I mean, I think they changed it from six to
three because we wanted a three year deal instead of
a six year deal. Yeah, but we changed that. That
was us. But other than that, So the point being though,
is that I think Joe was asking me to share
that with you so that you could, you know, be
conscious of what you're trying to surround yourself around. And
when you have opportunity from from real folks that are
really industry cats, you know, you might want to just
(45:25):
jump on that those because those are your first like
launching pads. And then one thing I always tell you know,
people in this industry is, you know, don't forget who
brought you to the dance. You know what I'm saying,
Because when people will bring you to the dance and
you go and you start dancing, and and a lot
of times you forget how you got there, and you know,
start exting that person out. What happens is you get
lost and you don't understand how you got back there,
(45:47):
you know what I mean. And that's the trick of
this industry, you know, So be conscious of who brings
you to the dance and don't forget them, and then
wait for the magic to happen. So and and for
everybody out there, get ready because cutthroat mode dot com
it's coming to you. And that's why I show I
just want to Blue to show the story. I don't know.
I was like, not only for him, not only for
him to share with you guys, but for the listeners
(46:07):
out there to that I listen. It's a good story
first all that we don't talk about fully, but it's
something that I just feel like, I don't know. I
gotta God touch us out. I need you guys to
hear this right now rather than before we get off
the air. Appreciate it. Well, there it is, guys, this
Cannabis Talk on Aloe. We want to thank you for
joining the show and remember this if no one else
loves you, we do. Thank you for listening to Cannabis
