sportsbook dot vandel dot com. Catching face. We got my
guy here, man three times pro bowler, NFL l A native.
I'm saying, you got teammates. What I'm saying that you've
got homies in the league. Man. I always say that
this is one of my homies in the league, man,
(01:26):
Donald Pin, what's up? Baby? What's up? And my back
now I gotta through my jury on. I don't know
how he was coming to that NA and I ain't
really coming to I just woke up and I don't know.
We was chilling out. We were showing out today. No,
it's just a little T shirt. This is that's a
T shirt event. You know what I'm saying, You're you're
doing enough with the study in the air. You feel
(01:46):
you know, you know, you know you're doing around. You're
the first one in that thing with with with the
with the ice showing. I'll be trying to I'll be
trying to tell him, man, I trying to tell him
I started a lot of stuff in the league, and
I'm saying, they don't believe it until they here my guys.
Tell them what I'm saying. I've been on this. I'll
tell you too, I remember I have to have to
have the three business man. Yeah yeah, ain't going down here.
(02:10):
And then the good days man. We hey, we fell
in love with them cards together? Definitely, what's that man?
How retirement it's good man, you know, staying busy, kids
keeping me busy. I picked up golfing, so I'm trying
to get that going, playing some golf tournaments, but just
trying to stay busy. Man. Kids can be busy. Just
trying to trying to stay busy. Forgure out what to do. Kids.
(02:31):
Kids definitely gonna keep you busy. So I always start off,
I bring my guests on. I always start off. We
gotta know, I'm saying, how Donald pain fall in love
with football? Man? You know the bad you know the
good thing where I felt a little basketball first, I
didn't started playing. I was gonna ask that too. Look
it was gonna get there. I was gonna get to
song your high school. So I thought. I thought NBA
growing up. That was my whole little thing. And then
(02:53):
my dad played basketball. And when I got to high school,
my um, I'm trying to st burn my sophomore year
and the football coach. When my first to play basketball,
I was chasing that, but you know I was, I can't.
I didn't get I was stretching out. I was get wired.
It was like trying out. So I tried it out
sophomore year, and me being athletic from basketball really helped
(03:14):
me catch you on a football quick, you know, being
an athe So I caught on and I was still
chasing basketball, but you're not. The junior year, I had
it like I had all this. All this offers from football,
barely anything from basketball. So I that's some of them
that I seeing year. I took football series. You know,
you had to go summer basketball stuff, took a series.
(03:35):
Got to college. I tried to play both, but I
couldn't keep my grains up doing both of them for
my freshman year. So I hadn't stopped. Then. You know,
football just picked up. It just picked up. I got
a chance to make it. So it's switched from NBA
to NFL real quick. Yeah, So that that that opportunity
to make it is what kind of I'm saying. Drew
you Drew you too, That's what's up. So look, man,
(03:56):
I see you out of played with you know what
I'm saying. My roommate in Kansas a C played with
Big Dit in Tampa. I have been around Big Trent
waves Man, all these big dudes. Who you see all
these old linemen can hoop? Bro, What what do basketball
putting your game? Bro? To make you better? Offensive linemen?
Basketball you can't. You can't hide being a half. Ain't know, Hi.
(04:20):
You can hide a little bit of football. If you're
an athleta basketball you can't hide that. And I feel
like basketball opens up our legability. It makes I guess
our footwork so good because basketball people be get back.
You got that a good feet, you know, we feet.
You know I always had good feet. So I feel
like basketball and basketball is a totally different shape. It's
a totally different movement. So for you to be explosive
(04:40):
and basketball is really gonna carry over the football. That's
why I keep my son's in basketball now even though
you want to play football, like keeping basketball just because like, yeah,
thank you, how much is gonna help them in football
when they get older. They don't even know. See I
do the same thing. Look, my kids started playing soccer
and stuff. They don't even know what they're doing. They
play baseball. I'm like, that's for ball skills where they
don't even know. I'm just I'm brain washing y'all to
(05:03):
be perfect little football players. Right. They don't even know
a pan. I don't even know. We got going to
look you say, uh, you had a lot of offers.
May have that stuff started coming in. How you leave
CALLI and go to Utah to play college ball? Man? Uh? Uh?
So Arizona came to my game week four my high
school uh senior year, and I bought out that game,
(05:25):
bowed out, So they came to the house after they offered.
So I'm like packed ten back then packed ten. I'm
playing at home twice a year now packed ten ship. Yeah,
but it's been backed in now. You know, Arizona back
there was known for the party school. So I'm like,
I'm in there. So I'm like one it. So you know,
all throughout the year, I'm I'm proud to be a
(05:46):
wild I'm telling everybody I'm committed. This is that they
fired a coach at the end of the year. The
new coach madn't want to do his own recruit I'm
trying to turn this around. You know, back there was
no sign you just ferbile. So I had a couple
of schools still around like after that, that's still all
that mean. You talkd was one, You was one. They
was all me. They on me from the get go,
like coach kept checking in, kept checking in. I wanted
to go to Oregon. They wanted the great shirt me.
(06:09):
I had to pay first semester uh school. They put
me on Scott secon semester. Man. My parents didn't get
a food for no long you know, and so we
I ended up going to Utah State. I had some
other schools too, but you Talk State told me I
had a chance to be a four year starter. All
the other schools and other schools had some people in
front of me, but they didn't even say, hey, we're
want to compete. There was like, no, you gotta wait
(06:30):
to this too. Then I'm like, bro, how you you
know what I mean? They tell me I ain't gonna
start the solving with your joint, you know what I mean?
Behind this card, and you Talk State was like, hey,
we like we love you. You started four years. And
I feel like if I played four years, I would
get enough repetition, I would get acclimated enough to wear
by my senior year. I feel like I have enough.
(06:52):
I have enough plays and enough stuff in my in
my back pocket to really be able to explode and
go off of myself to that level. Experience would would
get me there. I four years experience really right for
the league. So that's why I picked Utah Statan and
it worked out. It worked out before year started, you know,
but exactly how you planned it, exactly. I wouldn't change it.
Crazy how you pick them schools, bro, I was with
(07:12):
one more if I wouldn't change it, though, Man, I
learned a lot. Calm me down a lot, you know,
come from l A being in that in that college,
hardly nothing to do, you know. It kept me out
of trouble basically. Yeah, yeah, for real, that's so much
ship coming to picking them schools. Boy, you know what
I'm saying, it's gotta get everything. It's it might be
(07:33):
a good school for him, might not be a good
school for you. You know what I'm saying this, It's
it's crazy how we picked them schools. He probably count
to this too. How many people you've seen come to
the school that was great and didn't make it because
they sucked up in school. I had bad attitudes, kept
going back home, get in trouble. I've seen so many.
I was like, I had so much talent, but just
they couldn't get through that, you know, through that little
man or the grades or or whatever it is. Man.
(07:56):
So so you go to Utah. You balled out Utah
your senior year. You didn't give up a sack. No, no,
my saying you ain't your nothing until the damnpo you
ball you you six, you six five and a half.
And I'm saying, you three hunting. You looked apart. He
could hoop, he got the feet. Know what I'm saying.
He don't give up a sack of senior year and
they ain't Like are you end up end in the
(08:16):
packed ten? But you at Utah State, You're in a
nice little conference. You know what I'm saying. How pain
go undrafted? What's the reason pain go undrafted? Man? I
went to the Hula Bowl All Star Game. Man, I'm
telling you, I bought out that week. I had no meeting.
I had no meetings with teams or anything. I mean,
I talk I talked about one every one on one.
I'm out there in practice smack of fools. I guess
(08:37):
the game. So we gotta started having means with teams
and stuff. Everything going good. I'm ready for the game.
My dog. First player of the game. They're running right
behind me. We game like twelve running back, get tackled
on the back of my leg. I chair my m
c L first game, you know me pride for to you,
knowing this is my only chance. I go to side
(08:59):
like my ships swoll like this, I gonna sign and
take it up. I still trying to play. I ended
up giving up two sacks. I'm on a bum leg
uh in the game. So then I go back to
school rehab. I go to combine hurt so I could
do it. The combine just a bench for us. So
when the new members come in after the combine, but
(09:19):
I was in the top ten almost everything. I'm down
to the fifteen down there when you know, because I'm
new calm, I couldn't do nothing. So then we're getting
ready for my pro. I got like three teams coming
to my pro day, so I'm like working my butt off.
You know I'm running at four nine easy, you know,
working my butt off a week before my pro you know,
I'm sticking on the n edgy a week before my project. Here,
(09:40):
I pulled my hands so I let the teams know
only one team show up. Man, I still ran, you know,
want a bump hands for I ran like the ten
and you know, just showing my spokesness. But I had
a good project. I take my pro day, which was good.
I sent it out to all the teams. But yeah, man,
I had so many teams calling me and I'm laid
(10:01):
around and stuff. Man, I was so hurt, Bro, I
was so hurt because I knew that's that's kind of
what got me where I met though, because that that
that chip on my back. Hell yeah, you know, you
can't never question how it happened. Bro, It's it's it's
gonna happen. How it happened. You can't never question how
it happened. So so you go to Minnesota. Minnesota picked
you. You You go free agent, undrafted free agent to Minnesota.
How long is it? How long is in Minnesota before
(10:23):
you went to town? Week four? But Minnesota was like
a great experience because I was in an on line
with with a lot of bets. I had Matt Burke
at Steve Hutchinson, had uh Brian McKinney block from guys,
I learned them. Yeah, and I was one real the
real them, real linement, right, there, I'm going as Kevin
Williams Cat Williams on the D line and that had
a good defense then. So I learned a lot. But
(10:44):
I knew Brian McKinney was in his prime. I want
to try to find all right JACKO. I knewhere the
money was, Brian Kinning was in his prime. I I
don't want to be a backup. So we Tampa Proxact
week four. When Kenyotda Waker got hurt, they said they
needed no active. Minnesota was like, no, we're gonna bring
you up my actor. I was like, no, y'all have
four weeks ago, you know what I mean. I need
(11:05):
a fresh start. So I want the Tampa. But you know,
Minnesota barely played me in the Priests. I didn't played
the last Peason game. Yeah, they want to keep you.
That's how, you know how they do when they want
to keep you almost you know, it ain't no secret.
And when when you don't play, that's a good thing.
They're trying to hide you. They're trying to keep you.
Yeah I was. I was almost in tearing on solid.
But you know, all that worked out and then when
I got the temple, my first day of practice I'm
(11:26):
gonna get see me right then, you pretty much you
pretty much got the Tampa I don't active became the
starter and it was up from there right. Yeah. You
know that off season after my rookie year, I fought
my butt off. I want to swing tackle spot that
second week four Carolina, third quarter of left tackle towards
a c L I started hunting, setting me straight after
(11:48):
that hundred seventies straight, boy, that's all you needed. That
is crazy. I was that man, I was gonna look back.

problem called one eight hundred gambler. Why he was at Tava,
young lead pull up Man. What you remember by young
lead man putting up the town? I remember I was
watching the Draft show, and you remember remember you had
the big old baggy, baggy, big big, big car. And
(13:37):
I was like, I said, I said, this dude, he's
gonna be good because I could tell by the swag,
by the way you carried yourself. I said, I said,
nigger ain't carrying the stuff like that. It's gonna be booboo.
And then we had rock Somebody Rocky in a dB
because I knew, I said, rocking and d be in
the first round. I said, he got to be because
(13:57):
Roy ain't gonna gonna waste nothing and go off the group.
And they put his name on on on on on
the line for nobody, you know what I mean. Yeah, yeah,
that's what's up. And we had some good times in Tampa. Man.
It's it's so many stories, man, so many good times,
so many friends. It's it's that group, that little group
(14:18):
from Tampa. Man. We still solid, you know what I'm saying,
for the most part, still solid, still talk to each
other to this day. Man. That's a that's a good group.
I'm glad I was a part of that group right there. Man.
But look, you played for you played for a group
in Tampa. Bam boom, you're back do you played for
grool in Oakland was grooled the same grouge, the same
guy in in Tampa early and late in Oakland. Well
(14:40):
early in Tampa. You know, he was a little more
fights here, you know, he was younger, a little more
fights here. He had a little more short temper, you
know what I mean. I mean it was cool over.
You know when he got back open, he laid back
a little more um. You know you really that was
the That was the laid back group and yeah, you
really really stuff to get him to set off and
turn that red chuck, you know what I mean. It
wasn't as fast, yeah, young group though, but his um,
(15:04):
his knowledge of football. I felt like it just it
grew that time off just helping. I thought. They came
in and he was incorporating all the new stuff and
still the old stuff that we had in Temper, and
everything was still working and boding, you know, the way
fixed everything in it was just like, man, you didn't
miss a beat, right. It was him. He got to
watch all that, He got to watch all of it.
(15:25):
One thing I want to say about grewal to me,
you know, man like like grew grew We know grew,
we know who grew me. Grewp ain't no racist. We
know grewing. He made a mistake. You know, everybody get
plays for his mistake. But man, when you know who
grew this, you know, and I wanted to make sure
people understand that. Yeah, yeah, definitely. I came out. I
said it myself. Man, I know growing the group, and
I know it's the one who just called me by
(15:47):
the month ago. And I'm saying, congratulate me on you
feel me. Gave me some other vice for the media world,
and I'm saying I said my example was racist. People
don't do that. You know. You don't call no young
thirty five year old dude and try to help him
in life. You know, brother to get you last year
in Washington deal because they got lost. Lawyas uh do
that exactly? You know what I mean to do it?
(16:08):
Raised don't call you after retire, you know, call and
checking you in the family here and there throughout the years,
even when he wasn't in from Tampat to Oakland, Who'll
still calling check on me here and there? Exactly exactly.
I you know, I came out. I said the same
you know, I leave gonna sick his mind. I said
the same thing. Hey, I don't know about emails and
sexes and I don't. I don't know about all that stuff.
You feel me, I can't. I can't comment on all
(16:30):
that stuff. But as far as him being a racist,
bra ain't no racis that? And I'm about for that
And I'll stand taller man all day long. So let's
get forward to the day. Man, what I'm saying this
season the a f C Brod, what do you think
about the a FC? This's it's it's to me, it's
like the most even it ever been in since we've
(16:51):
been playing football? Man, What you think about the FC? Man?
It is right now? It's up and down. Especially I
was at the game on Sunday. Man, the Raiders had
the opportunity to really take a grass and take over this,
but it's so up and down. Patrick was like, uh uh,
I'm back in my bath. He said, huh. Don't counts
out who you like? Who you like to come out
of FC? You know who I like? Come you know
(17:12):
who I like? I mean Vegas Like, that's your fan
that's standing side of you. What I'm saying the fans
side of you, but who the analysts side of you like?
Who you really? Who you really like you have to
put the paper on it. Man, who you who you
think gonna come out that FC. That's a tough one
(17:37):
right there. It's so up and it's hard. Man, I
would be honest with you. I think you can't see
thee on the road. They offense is just that poem
they puppy, but they offense is just that whole you know.
I really feel like they could get in a rod.
But I really think the NFC is gonna take it.
They got too much power over there. Yeah, I think
really gonna take it. Like it's too much on Look
(17:58):
last week, last week I was I was thinking the Browns.
I'm like, man, the Browns going to catch some fire.
Damn boom. You see what they come do? Right this week,
I'm gonna say, man, the Patriots, Patriots trying to look
like a team. Watch they're gonna come out and get
braced by Atlanta and something wise. It's it's it's crazy
right now and that and that AFC. Man, it's a
funny league right now. Everything like you don't know what's
gonna go up. And you see the car man, I
(18:19):
like the Cardinals do they gotta stay healthy? I like
what the Cardinals, Cardinals, Cardinals, Cardinals. They're gonna go as
far as Colin Murray and them ankles take and only
they gotta stay healthy. I gotta stay healthy. Man. What
about these tackles, man? What about these tackles who you like? Man?
Trip Will is playing though some the best ball on
the scene in a minute. Man, Uh, I gotta trip.
(18:41):
I gotta get a trip that. I gotta give it
the trip you got the Crown train, got the trying
right now, all right now, man, it's hard not to give,
not to give it the trink. Some stuff he's doing, man,
the way he's moving the space, the way he's doing
the pass rush. And then I gotta man, my o
g he came in my class man with work, still
doing yeah, big wig Big, it's still moving, still doing
(19:02):
it big with big. We're still productive too. I'll just
watched him last night and we're just trying to check
him out, check his movement. Still productive, baby, great care
of him, They take great care of him. So here
you know, you know, I know how l A do.
They're gonna take care of the vest baby. Hey, I
mean if Reggie them don't do nothing us, they're gonna
take care of the vest baby for showing yeah with
I mean I got my my hats offo with especially
(19:24):
you know him still doing what he's doing at this
day and age, right, he doing something to make that
body feel good. He didn't go out done everybody to man,
you know, even though he came to my spot though. Man,
Cole mill is having a great years. Oh yeah, cod,
I gotta get my hat off to him and cold
having a great year. He is silent though. People don't
it side. You know, I watching at radio game, so
I know, God do uh posting short stuff, but colding
(19:47):
them a great little silent year right now. Man. And
you know I didn't think he's gonna be this be
as good as he was. But man, he got my
ass off too. I told him that too, and I saw, Man,
keep it going. That's what's up. That's what's up. So
you hit on it right there, man, tell of something
some of the stuff you've got going out the time
and post football, man, what you got going. And I'm
trying to get into some commentation like you. You know,
I'm doing all the opportunities I get the raiders that
(20:09):
bring me, I'll have me volunteers do some of their
postgame and pregame shows. So I've been doing that. Um,
you know, the Raiders got a great alumni thing. I've
been out there doing a couple of golf tournaments, a
couple of our graphs signing. Uh. I got primary custody
my kids right now. So man, they keep me busy
all day football practice, basketball, tennis. You know, they's just
football school pick up. So besides that, you know one
(20:31):
thing I am enjoining or I ain't got that stress
of that football. You know, knowing if you're gonna you
gotta beat somebody out the next year, and knowing that
you got you know, that's that that's stressful. It's big.
That's the part that they that they don't get accounting
for the football. They think it's just how good you is,
how how hard you work? Man, that the stress maintaining
(20:52):
and dealing with the stress and the off season with
the season. For they'd be like, then in the season,
what's gonna happen next year? It's the stress level. It
don't get accounted for, man and ship. That probably was
the reason I retired. That probably was the main reason
I retired. I was like, I'm just tired, bro, I
need to just chill. I'm saying I need to just
wake up and eat avocado toasts, head cheese, eggs and potatoes.
(21:15):
Don't worry about no weight. It's it's super stressful, bro.
And I'm I'm glad you brought that ship up though.
What I'm saying it's it don't get accounted for, not
enough at all. They don't understand that too. Like you
gotta make sure you got you know you're gonna all season.
You got they bringing a young guy in every year,
trying to take your spott makes you on top of
your game all the time all season. I could work
out when I want to work out. Now that ain't
(21:36):
gotta be that routine, you know what I mean. It's stuff.
But and then the stress on Sunday, you know, every
I don't care who you are, you're going to gang
stressful toil just get started then you then then it
goes because you you know, you want to do good,
you want to be great? Is that you can so much? Yeah?
So it's like, man, people do not understand that stress
is it's like a big big weight lift off your shoulders.
(21:57):
One once you've done with that, oh yeah, like like
like crazy. Uh. Last question it's the uh Sierra Sierra
Came parking lot looking like Magic City parking lot. Still,
I don't know what they're gonna do. And they get older, man,
that's yeah, everybody's gonna be. I think Friday is gonna
be bring your parents cars for real, that's what's the
(22:23):
baby's still over there. No, no, they're not right now.
I'm gonna get a big men back in for high school.
So get back with his boy. Yeah yeah, yeah, he gotta.
He gotta played him high school years there. Hey, that's
what's up man. I ain't gonna hold you baby. I
appreciate it. Man, were catching face Donald pen
