Speaker 1 (00:03):
I didn't know if I was looking for an assistant.
I knew I needed help. I just felt very comfortable
with her. So Omi became like my day to day
my personal assistant. Is there something like super crazy that
comes to mind that you feel that I've made you do,
or that you've had to do or whatever? When um,
you really wanted a salad in Corona, so she had
(00:23):
me put the salad in the uber and the salad
cost two for the uber and the salad was only
like twenty bucks. We did have a little bit of
a break. I think that break was definitely needed for
us because I think you grew in a way and
I did too. And I think you learned to appreciate things,
and so did I. Hello, Hello Totos, Welcome to another
(00:47):
episode of Chicks and Chill. I'm your hostess with the
mostess cheeks, and today we're going to be joined by
a very special guest. She's one of my favorite people.
She's also my right hand in or should I say woman.
I'll be introducing you to my assistant and friend in
just a moment, so stay tuned for this episode of
(01:08):
cheek Ease and Chill. Oh my gosh, guys, I am
so excited to introduce you to know Ami Valdivia, better
known as Ohmi Lovely, my Pepper, or Homie. And I'm
not gonna get into that later as to why I
call her homie. She is actually sitting right a few
(01:31):
feet from me. Hiomi say hello, Hello. She's a little shy. Guys,
she's a little shy. Are you excited to be on
the podcast or what? I am excited. It's so she'll
be on your podcast. Oh thank you. Omi. She hears
me like every time we're recording, and she always asks me, like,
what did check up out today? I'm like, no, you
gotta go listen to it. I always tell her, Yeah,
she literally does not let me listen to it. Yeah, no,
(01:54):
I have to, like she needs to go and give
me a listen. So anyways, guys, first of all, just
so you know, Omi and I did not prepare anything
at all. We didn't talk before nothing. So we're going
to talk about like how it is, how it's been,
when we met, how we met. And I wanted to
do an episode like this because I see on my
autograph signings at my concerts a lot of people gravitate
(02:16):
towards Omediate. They love her very much, and I want
people to know the type of relationship that we have
because again, a lot of things have been said in
media that I treat her bad and then all this stuff.
So she's here to clear it up if she wants.
And I want you guys to meet her more than anything,
like to get to know her on a different level. Okay,
so Omi, the first question I have, why do we
call you homie? I don't know that's a good question.
(02:38):
Do you think you're a home? Sometimes? I'm just kidding.
I'm just kidding, guys. We call her homie. We call
her like for homie, she's the homie or like homie,
just to mess around like she's a home. But she
really isn't a home. She's a good girl. We'd just
like to mess around. Tell them the truth, what the
tru and tell your dad to listen to this Facebook.
My dad's not allowed listen to bookle Oh he's not. Okay,
(03:05):
I guess we can start from the beginning. Oh me,
do you want to tell them how we met? Yeah? Sure,
so as you guys all know, like you know, I
started out as a huge fan of her mom, and
you know, wow, she was Unit four seven guys. I
was lucky to get into the first one, and we'll
(03:25):
obviously been a fan of her mom. You know, you
also love her kids. But I've always gravitated more towards chickens.
We're saying chickens. I always colored Jenney, but um, you know,
I started admiring the person she was, and I saw
how much she helped her mom and just the kind
of person she was. I think even when her mom
was here, she's always like she was her own person
(03:46):
and you know, inspired people even through Twitter quotes all
the time, even um, when her mom passed away. Like
there's a lot of people, a lot of fans who
actually chose sides, and me and a couple of other
friends never chose a side. We kind to stay mutual.
And because of that, you know, I was able to
see both sides, and I gravitated more towards her, and
(04:07):
I wanted to support her because during that time a
lot of people left her, not only her family, but
also like friends and fans, and you know, along with
the you know Torrito, well, we supported her events and
I think we're the only two fans that were actually
there on her first autograph side and she had I
think it was like somewhere incumbent. You were there where
(04:27):
you're little pony to a low jeans, white shirt. You know,
never think she would go to water Gray or something
like that, but she went like that, and we just
started supporting her anywhere she went. And she noticed that,
you know, no matter where it was, we were there present,
taking her gifts. You know, they're as friends but also
as fans, and you just started bringing us around more,
little by little, and you know, it just turned into
(04:50):
like working for you, I guess, and you kindly never
gave me the option. You just said you're gonna be
my assistant and that's final. And I was like, okay,
well wait, okay, okay, we kind of if it did
happen that way. You guys, when you want something, you
go for it. So okay, we started. She started following
me or my career in two thousand nine, no nine nine, right, yeah,
(05:16):
with Chickens and Roxy and she went with Torito. A
lot of people may know who he is or not.
He's also a fan of my mom's and he is
now in my life. Baby just gave me a rose. Okay,
So she went to I think it was Yeah, it
was the autograph signing on me where we first met
in person, and then we started following each other on
(05:38):
Twitter and she would always like, like my quotes and
she would put quotes too. Then she invited me to
go hiking, which, by the way, guys, it's been that
many years and we have not gone hiking once. But
that's how our friendship started. She said, hey, we should
go on a hike one day because I used to
like hike a lot more. I haven't hiked in a
long time, to be honest, and she's like, I'll take
you to this really nice place we have not gone. Guys,
(06:00):
always tells me about glamor we have not got on
our hike, so I owe her that. I owe her
that I heard high guys. So that's how we kind
of started. And then she started helping me out with
was it a fan page on me? A fan page? Yeah? Yeah,
it was first a plant page. And then you wanted
me to help you with your closet. Remember with my closet? Okay?
(06:20):
And then that's when I was like, okay, I like
you're going to be my assistant. Yeah. It just flowed
because I was going to school then. I remember I
was going to school, and even when I would go
see your mom, I would ditch school college. So I
never like college. I just went because my dad wanted
me to go. So then it just came a point
where I had an excuse to leave college freaking oh me.
(06:42):
Well yeah, and at the time I was I didn't
know if I was looking for an assistant. I knew
I needed help. I just felt very comfortable with her.
And then Dorito was also my assistant, and then he
took a little break. That's a whole other story, but
now he's back in my life. Anyways, so only became
like my day to day my personal assistant. I taught
her basically everything, kind of like how I learned because
(07:04):
I started my career as an assistant, my mom's assistant,
and I was everything. I would do her hair, I
would do her personal shopping. I would pack for her,
I would unpack for her, I would pay the bills,
I did everything like that was like, I mean, I
had other little jobs, but that was like my main thing.
So anyways, Omi walked into it kind of like not knowing,
(07:24):
but we've learned right on me. Yeah, you showed me
how to send an email because I don't know how
to send an email. I don't know how to see
see people. I always remember that. You're like, did you
see cee this? I'm like, what does c C mean?
Because my parents, I mean, my parents never send an
email back then. Now it's different, you know, but back then,
like I went to school. Yeah, but like I wasn't
like all that techie when it comes to like emails
(07:45):
and all that. And you showed me how to file
do your bills and all that, and everything had to
have a receipt and a date on everything. Yes, everything
is I'm very anal okay about like, I'm very particular.
I've learned that through the years. Yeah, you know, guys,
I'm very particular here. I want things in a certain way,
and when it's not done like that, it bugs me.
She can tell you right here, only can say whatever
she wants, like honestly, like the mic is open, and
(08:08):
if I get on her nerves sometimes I'm sure I do.
I mean, you know, that's just part of it. Like
my mom would get on my nerves. Sometimes I'm not
gonna lie like I would be like mom, like it
was tough. It's not easy, guys, It's not easy being
an assistant. That's why I'm patient. I've been patient because
I know what it is to be in that position
and how stressful it is. And in reality, you don't
(08:29):
have a schedule. It's something that we've been trying to
work on, but in real something's always happening. So she's
she used to get to my other house like at
seven in the morning because she lives so far. How
far away I mean, well, what traffic in the morning
would be like an hour and a half, Like an
hour and a half. She would leave her house so early,
wake up at five, And I felt like crap because
(08:49):
I was like, she wakes up so early, she gets
here so early. It because she wants to avoid traffic.
So now we're trying to work on a little bit
of a schedule. She just moved out. Everyone around about
asked for om me. She moved out for the first time.
And she's living ten minutes away from the new house.
And now I'm happy because she gets to rest, she
gets to like, she doesn't have to drive so far.
I would always worry. I would always tell Hermie, it
(09:11):
stresses me out, like being on the road so much.
She wasn't getting enough sleep. But she would always say
I love my job. Do you love her job? On me? Honestly?
Like I do? Why why do you love your job?
I think when you love something you do, you don't
see it as a job. You see it more like
a hobby, but like you're doing something you like and
you're getting paid for it. But I think there's many
many reasons that I like my job. Would I being
(09:32):
assistant for another person? I don't know. I think being
assistant you have to really like love and look up
to the person, you know, admire the person you're working for,
because if not, then you wouldn't do things the way
you want to do them, you know, going with like passion,
but like passion and love. Yeah, if you're passion and love.
And that's crazy that you say that. Because Julie Julie
(09:52):
Vasque is a shout out to her. She was my
mom's assistant, a very very good assistant. Her and I
had our little differences because I was my mom's very
first assistant, like her personal assistant, and then Julie came
and I was kind of like a hello, like I'm
not needed anymore. But it was something it was a
part of my growing and I gave her a little
bit of a hard time. I will be honest. I
(10:13):
gave her a little bit of hard time. I was.
I was a little bit sometimes, but it was just
because I was very territorial with my siblings, of my mom,
of our household. She was a very good assistant, and
she said like once my mom passed away, she says,
I will never be anyone else's assistant like I did
it for her. I loved her. I was passionate about it,
and she hasn't. She started doing her own things. I
think she has like her record label now right that
(10:34):
she opened like a little studio to like salon. Oh
she did. Oh my goodness, that's awesome. So now that
you say that, it reminds me of Julie because I mean,
like I said it, you have to be passionate about
the person that you're working with or working for. It
is a tough job. So now that we're talking about
it being tough, tell us a little bit about your
(10:55):
normal day, Like how does it start with time? Does
it start usually? Well? Right now, since you know I
live closer, I've been lazy and I wake up late now.
And the reason I told her, I said, okay, only
start coming in at nine or ten so that she
has time to go work out and do her thing.
She's like, you're honestly, it's it's it's it's making me lazy,
Like I need to come in earlier. No, but I
need to get back on my workout stuff. But now
(11:16):
I wake up like seven seven thirty a, get ready
showered or on my you know, my be flawless skin
drive to work. Usually if we have already like a
set schedule, like what we're gonna do if we have
to go to an event, like obviously it's prepared for that.
But like the normal thing is like I get here,
I always I don't care what people say, but I'm
(11:36):
always a person that my job title is not just
being an assistant. Like if I need to pick up
the dog poop and I see it there, like I'm
gonna pick it up, you know what I mean. Like
I don't really care what anybody says. That's just me
and that's how I was raised. But you know, I
get here and whatever we have to do first like
usually always send me like what you want me to
do before when I get here. If I see anything
(11:58):
I need to pick up, I pick it up. Do
office stuff. When I have to pay people out help
you with your laundry, I help you, but you know
sometimes she likes to in her laundry on her own. Yeah,
what else do I do? You know? Lately hapen having
everything kind of you know, there's been so many packages
because of the new house and everything, so it's always
like opening a bunch of packages. It's pretty much like
(12:22):
a lot of little things that I like to do.
Like I wouldn't say like I limit myself to anything,
you know, but that's what I'm saying that I wouldn't
do that for another person, but I do it for
you because you know, I admire you and you are
a great person. M thank you, my lovely Oh, she
don't make me cry, guys, because honestly, I don't think
I can ever think of a time where Omi has
(12:42):
said no to me when I asked her, Like obviously
I'm not asking her to do crazy things, but there's
certain things and she's like, okay, yeah, I'll do it.
And you know, she even cooks. She helps me with
social media as far as like reminding me to post
certain things or whatever. Like I'm very hands on with
everything that I do. So a lot of people may think, oh,
she does on my social media for me, and that's
not true. She just reminds me, hey you got this DM,
(13:04):
or hey you gotta post this, or hey we gotta
respond to certain comments. Like she really is on everything,
and I can't say that there's not one part of
my life. Like, honestly, even when I've had surgery, she
has helped me. She has showered me. Um. That's why
I'm like, she's not just my assistant, she is my friend.
She is I'm like her, her sister, I'm like sometimes
(13:27):
her mother, Like I have helped raise her. It's crazy
because when she lost her mom last year, because my
mom passed in December nine and her mom passed on
December eight, um, nine years later, right on me. Yeah,
nine nine, nine years apart. And I feel like I
could be there for her and help her through that
and guide her. And there's days still that she has
(13:49):
bad days. And it's just a very unique relationship that
we have and I'm so grateful. I'm so grateful for
her because honestly, she she does. She does help me
over and be and I think if I had to,
I would like do what I gotta do. You know
what I mean, but she helps me so much. We
(14:13):
did have a little bit of a break on me, Yeah,
we did. We had six months or six months six months. Look,
I think I met you when you were what twenty
one on me or how old are you? Yeah, and
she was young and even like me teaching her to
(14:33):
say thank you and please and stuff like that, like
those are stuff that I guided her with, right, Yeah,
I had no manners. I'm not saying that my parents
never taught me manners, but sometimes like when you're out
with public people or like other people that have like
a higher position like around you, like you know, I
would know, Oh my god, who say please? I don't
(14:54):
say thank you? And it comes off rude, you know,
because you know how Mexican fand they're very potos. Like
it was like they don't really care, like like like
what do you mean, Like I said, come home, like
there's certain in a way. Yeah, like I don't think
every day with my parents or my mom and dad
I said please or thank you. They recreated things, but
it wasn't for like a lot of things, you know
(15:15):
what I mean? Yeah, And I think it's like I
just feel like I want to be acknowledged like even
if I send a message, I'm like, okay, well where's
your response or um here, thank you or please. I'm
very very like that. I think it was because my
mom was so tough on me. So I feel like
everything I've learned and I learned with my mom, I'm
teaching on me because I kind of went into it
(15:37):
like that too, Like I was an assistant from one
day to another, and I was just like, okay, what
do I do? Like I didn't know how to write
a check, and my Mom's like, I don't know, figure
it out, go deposited. Well how do I do that?
I don't know, figure it out? And that's kind of
like your favorite work now, Yeah, like it's just like
figured out, you'll figure it out, you know what I mean.
And I have been tough. I have been tough on
on on me. I try my best not to ever
(16:00):
with anyone, not just with with Omi or the people
that work for me, even people at restaurants, whether you're
the janitor or the cleaning lady, the bus boy, I
don't care. I like to treat people all the same,
so I never feel like, oh I'm the boss and
you do as I say. Like I like to lead
by example. I've said, Naiomi, I'm so sorry I I
sent her a message and I'm like, I apologize that
(16:20):
was rude, and I give her that open space to say, hey,
if something hurts your feelings, feel free to tell me
to text me. We do a lot of texting, even
if we're like in in the same house in two
different rooms, will text each other like, hey, that wasn't cool.
Or we've learned throughout these years and through that little
break we had, I think, to respect each other's boundaries,
(16:40):
to respect each other's wishes, and I think we've learned right. Yeah, No,
I think that break was definitely needed for us because
I think you grew in a way and I did too.
And I think you learned to appreciate things, and so
did I. Now, like when I started working for you again,
like things were like a lot different, I think, and
I learned certain things during that time, and so did you. Yeah,
(17:01):
but I think it was more like communication. I think now,
like if something bothers you, you tell me and I
tell you and and like we fix it, you know,
instead of kind of like leaving it under the rug, right,
and not just because it's like, oh I'm her boss.
She's not going to tell me hey, like I didn't
like that or whatever. So I think that it's important,
like you said, communication in every relationship. It doesn't matter
if it's a professional or a personal relationship. And like
(17:23):
I said, like, sometimes you hear so much then you
start believing and you don't ask the person, so then
you start saying things. You know, but it's like sometimes
people only do that to see what you say, to
go say exactly. So that's why now like whenever somebody
says something, I'm like okay, Like I either say a
lie to see if it comes back to me or
you know, like I'm very careful. There's probably I could
(17:44):
help with one hand of people that I trust. You know, yeah, no, absolutely,
And that's just part of maturing both for you owe
me as well as me. That it's just like, okay,
it taught us a lot, I think. And some people
may think like how or why did you you know,
let her back in your life. Well, for so I
missed her, you know, she was I was really close
to her. And then she apologize to me. She and
(18:06):
that's sometimes all we need is just hey, I was wrong.
I also told her, hey, I apologize. We apologize to
each other, and we kind of just said, okay, it's
the past. And it has been a little difficult. It's
been a work in progress to find that trust, you
know again. But I've always been very honest with her,
and I'm like, this is how I feel, and she's like, Okay,
(18:26):
I just have to prove myself to you, to prove
that I've changed, I've matured, I've grown up. And I
believe her because it is very different now, it really is,
and I think it was necessary in order for us
to be where we're at now, to have to go
through that moment of us missing each other and reflecting
and growing and maturing. But yeah, sometimes I feel like
I want to get another assistant just to help her
(18:48):
out because it is a lot, guys. I mean, in reality,
she does help me a lot. And I try my
best to be like, okay on me, like try to
go home and release so that because sometimes she's here
until ten ten pm. She gets here at nine and
she's here until ten. But I'm very mindful of her spirit,
her soul, like I do my best to be like,
oh me, make sure you pray, and but she has
(19:09):
I think you you learned to pray with me too, huh,
And yeah I have. I think that's one of the
things I learned, like to be more connected even to God.
Like it's crazy because before, like for us and my
growing up, going to church was like insanea as Baptism,
I would never watch church, you know, believe in God
and everything, you go to rosaries and all that. But
(19:30):
I think I got with you. I went more to
the Christian side. I don't consider my self Christian, but
I understand it better in that way, I guess I
can say. But you know, I did become more more
spiritual connected even with God and stuff. So I think
that's something else you taught me to And ballery to
battery has a lot to do with that too. Yeah. Yeah,
(19:51):
So so you feel like you've learned a lot, I
learned a lot. I think everything I've known I know
because of you, even the people I know, my knowledge
and the everything. Even my dad always says it, like
my dad was always scared when I came to working
for you, because obviously I left school and he you
know how grateful he is for you. He saw everything
I've learned, even even when you were we weren't. Yeah,
(20:13):
I wasn't working for you. Like he always saw like
what I learned from it, like mentally, emotionally, he saw everything.
And so this day, you know how much how much
my dad is grateful. My mom too, but you know,
my dad's more like vocal about things. But I really
learned everything with you and I you know, I'm grateful
because I got free um schooling. I always say, you're
(20:36):
my professor. You're my professor. Yeah, I went to the
University of Genemuring. It's crazy because it's like what I
say about my mom and she's like, oh my god,
that's how I feel. That's how I feel. Like you're
definitely my professor. Like it's not just I teach her everything,
like I'm like I want her to know and then
if one day I'm not here, like she she knows
what to day. I'm just saying, like, if one day
(20:57):
I'm not here something like people out of town, right exactly,
like I go out of town, okay, but I'm gonna
tell you guys, how down on me is if I
need something at two in the morning and I call
her and I have before. I think it was one
time I had to go to hospital. She rushed me
to the emergency room. I was like, come get me,
oh my god or whatever, and she took me to
the emergency room. There's been times where I give her
(21:18):
the day off, the day off, and I'm like, oh me,
I need this, and I'm like, I'm so sorry to
bother you on your day. Actually, don't worry. That's what
I'm here for. She's like always there. Like I'm like, okay,
I got a little tipsy, I can't drive. She'll go
pick me up. It doesn't matter where it's at. Like, dude,
this girl is down. This girl is down for me,
and I just need people to know that. Unfortunately, I
(21:39):
feel like there's not a lot of people like oh
Me around and I'm just grateful for you. Oh Me,
I really am thank you. I'm also grateful for you.
You know a lot of people always say if they
just play around, you know that they say that you
treat me wrong. That it's not true. Guys, I'm here
to clear it up. But she does hit me on
the weekends. I'm kidding she honestly, you know, she's a
(22:02):
great person. And I always get messages from fans it's
funny and they're like Oh my god, You're so lucky
to be nick like to be near you or whatever
to work for her, And like, I think those messages
are good because I think I'm like damn, like sometimes
I forget who I work for because I always when
I'm with you, you're always Jenny, not cheekies, you know
what I mean, you know, and that's the person I
(22:23):
admired to. And and like I said, like, I wouldn't
be here still working for you if you didn't treat
me the way you treat me. And one thing I
can say, like you always thank me for things. And
I think it's nice to work for people that thank
you and appreciate the work you do, because I know
many people that work for other people or you know,
a regular job and they never get to thank you
or you know what I mean. And I think I
(22:44):
thank you go far uh, you know, far out or
even like you. I think you gave me two races
in the past year and that doesn't happen anywhere. And
the fact that you see my work and you're you
appreciate what I'm doing, I think that what fulfills me
and and and you know, it makes me want to
keep growing and want to do more with you, and
you know, I see where you're going and you still
(23:05):
have a long future ahead of you, and sometimes you
don't believe it because you doubt yourself a lot. And
I think that I know that I'm here for a reason.
You know, I'm not just here just to be here.
I know there's more to work where you're gonna go.
Thank you lovely, And just to pick you back a
little bit on what she was saying, I do feel
like it's important to have an attitude of gratitude. I
(23:26):
always say that, like it doesn't matter, Like I know
that without a team, I can't do everything that I do.
Everything that I all the balls that I juggle sounds weird,
All the balls that I juggle like, yeah, but all
the I guess I should say, all the hats that
I wear you like you like to juggle balls anyways,
all the hats that I wear, like on a daily basis, Like,
(23:48):
I am well aware that I cannot do it without
the team that I have and always a huge part
of that. So I believe in always being grateful and
always giving back and sharing the blessings God has given
me with the people around me. And her being one
of them. Of course, is there something like super crazy
(24:10):
that comes to mind that you feel that I've made
you do, or that you've had to do or whatever. Besides, yeah,
computer is gonna die. What do I do? Oh? Sho,
let me the charger. It's five seconds. Hold on, see
there she goes. Alright, So I think we can both
(24:31):
agree that the craziest thing you've ever had to do
is white my butt, right, white my ass when I
had surgery? Or is there anything else? Yeah, craziest, I
think so. Yeah. I mean that's probably the crazy in this.
It's not that crazy when um, you really wanted to
Saturday Corona and that I worked that day and I
(24:53):
was at home, which back then I lived in Carson.
I lived in Carson. That sounds cool to say. I
had a drive to Corona to get her the salad,
and she didn't want me to drive all the way
to her house, so she had me put the salad
in the uber, and the salad cost two for the uber.
And the salad was only like yes, because it was
(25:14):
I was craving the damn salad from like where I
where I used to work, the place that I used
to work out in Corona. I freaking want the salad.
Oh my god, it sounds so good. Oh my goodness. Anyway,
so I was like, please hold me, I wanted, I wanted.
She went over there and then also, dude, she's been
there through a lot of crazy shit. This one time
(25:35):
something I didn't talk about in my book, but um
with my ex his you know, I shouldn't say his name. Anyways,
but we had like a little situation and she was
in the middle of it, trying to get me away
from it, and it was crazy. She even I think
got ruffled up a little bit her in the middle
of the whole situation. Huh. Yeah, it's been a lot anyways,
(25:57):
let's just leave that for another day. Okay, me, I
was going to ask you what you like about me
and not so much. Okay, Well I'm gonna start. I'm
gonna start first, Okay. So what I love about Amen
is that she's always down, that I know that if
I need her at whatever time, if I need her
to take a craziest trip to Arizona just to go
take something and then come back like she would like.
(26:20):
She's done some things that I'll never forget, like driving Buncho.
Buncho is my dog. For those of you that may
not know, Buncho is my baby boy. He is a
little over a year now. He's an old English sheep dog.
You guys can follow him on his Instagram. What's his instagram?
Mommy King Pancho. Yes, King Banto Matin. So one time
I had to do a photo shoot or something like that,
(26:42):
and yes, I asked her to drive him to San Jose. Well,
actually she offered. She's like, well, what do we do.
She's like, you know what, I'll just drive him. So
she drove him left in the morning, drove him all
the way to San Jose because he had to go
to his good boy camp because he was a bad
boy for a while. He still is kind of like
a bad boy, but anyway, so I sent him to
drain camp and Omi took him, okay into San Jose
(27:02):
all in one day. She drove him and then she
came all the way back. Call me, yeah, I drove
him and then I flew back and then I went
straight to your shoe. Yep. But she can stayed to
my shoot, dude. So I'm telling you that's one of
the main things, or probably one of my favorite things,
is that I feel like I can count on her
for anything, to be honest. So and one besides her
kind heart, she's very giving. She is a very like
(27:25):
honestly she I could say she's she's a good friend.
So those are kind of like my favorite things about
on me. And then one of my least favorite things,
oh um, maybe that she's forgetful. She kind of forgets.
She's kind of forgetful, right only? Or no, yeah, I
know it's true. And yeah, she's getting a lot better.
(27:48):
And I tell her, only make sure you don't forget.
Make sure you write it down because I'm not gonna lie. Guys.
I will send a voice note with like ten different
things that need to be done and I'm like, okay,
make sure you write it down. Yeah, twenty things it
is because that's stuff with me, squirela guys, Like that's
how I learned. My IM was like, okay, this, this
isn't that, and it's all about organizing yourself. And she
has really been good at learning that. Okay, O me,
it's your turn. What is your favorite thing at least
(28:11):
everything about working with me or about me? Okay, let's see,
my favorite thing about working with you is that I
guess that work doesn't seem like work. Sometimes, you know,
it's like fun. I feel like it's like, yeah, it's
like fun. It's something i'd like to do. I like
the fact that every day or something new either, if
(28:32):
it's something that I can use towards my life. Nice,
you know, being around you, Like, I think that's something
I like. I love that. Okay, And the least favorite thing,
least favorite thing I'm seeing. Oh, Johnny right, Johnny's right here.
He's like, it used to be me. Yeah, it used
to be Johnny. Johnny. Johnny was a nightmare. He was
(28:56):
he was the only what do you call it, the
only bumping the road I had to get over and
finally I got over it. And now she makes them.
She likes Johnny. Johnny's right here. He's saying he doesn't
know who got it worse, her or Julie. My Mom's
assisted with me. He knew not to play with me.
But oh my god. Yeah, okay, but okay, my least
(29:17):
favorite thing. And I want to know. That's what I'm
trying to think about it. Um, let me think besides
the many tasks that I give you all in one voice, note,
I think, because no, that's not that's not that's not
something I don't like about you. Um that I could
be moody. Yeah, maybe maybe that, but then I don't.
(29:37):
It's because I don't. I wouldn't say it is my
least favorite thing because like, yeah, sometimes you do get moody,
but then like it's not your fault because I know
there's something going I know why you're moody, you know
what I mean. I'm not just moody like to be moody.
There's a reason. Yeah, But then I know, like at
the end of the day, like I'm always with you,
so if you're gonna be moody, like I have to
(29:58):
take it, you know what I mean. And I sometimes
like I apologie. I'm like, you know what, I'm in
a bando today. Just everyone know, like there's a lot
going on, I'm stressed out. I'll kind of let it
be known. And then sometimes like she'll have them like,
oh me, what's wrong with you today? And it's funny
because she always knows something's wrong with me and be like, no,
nothing's wrong with me. Oh yeah, it's annoying. I know.
But I guess that's probably the least favorite thing. But
(30:20):
like I said, it's I can't think of it. I'm
not to think of it now. Yeah, I think of
it and then um then let us know, you know
what I mean, because it's gonna come after. But you
know what I mean, I really appreciate it because today
it's it's crazy. Like sometimes I'm like, Okay, She'll be like,
can I give you a hug? I feel like you
need a hug today, and she'll give me a hug.
That's one of my favorite things are hugs. And today
(30:41):
I was like, oh me, I think you need a hug.
And I gave her a hug and she's like, you
know what, I feel like you need one. I was like, well,
let's just hug. So we hug. Sometimes we hug and
I tell her don't tap me and just hold me.
I don't like to be tapped when im being hugged.
And he's like okay, yea, yeah, you know, you know,
tapping my my back. But anyways, it's been a beautiful
journey guys, the good, the bad, and you know, it's
(31:02):
all part of life. We have learned from each other
and it's been great. So oh me, I want to
say thank you so much for being on the podcast.
I appreciate you and thank you for sharing your story
with us, you know here on the Cheeks and Chill podcast.
Thank you for being an amazing assistant. You know sometimes
you know, I think we want to pull each other's hair,
but it's normal, right, yeah, yeah, it's normal. And thank
(31:26):
you for being a great friend. Thank you know, I
honestly I want it's I think the podcast was great
because you don't know how many times I get answer
that question, especially when I do a little questions on Instagram,
how did you meet Cheeks? Like all the time they
always asked me. So I think this is perfect because
everyone always wants to know, like the story of how
I started working with you and how I met you
and all that. So I think this is going to
(31:48):
help you know all the people that always ask. But
I also want to say thank you to you and
to everybody behind the podcast that I know you guys
putting your hard work, like Brianna and Baby, because just
so know everybody that puts in, you know, their little
piece to make this podcast happen. That is helping millions
of people around the world. I know it does because
(32:08):
I get emails. For example, people don't think that what
they go through that she might go through, and then
they hear her podcasts are like, oh wow, like she
goes through this too. So you know I'm not the
only one. It's an honor to be part of here
and be working for you. I always told you, like,
I wouldn't do it for any other person, even though
you think if Carol you would ask me. I was senious.
(32:29):
You know she is obsessed with Carol, you guys. So
I was like, I see Carol, but it's whatever. I
want her to be happy regardless. So we're always yeah,
but no, like honestly, like Janette always told you, like,
you're a great person. You have a great heart. I've
seen from the bottom of your career, how it started,
(32:50):
and everything you've gone through, the many times you doubt
it yourself, the million times or two billions that you said,
I'm not gonna sing anymore. I'm not gonna do this
no more. I'm gonna go back to in a salon.
I think it happens at least once a month all
the time, and I'm like, oh, her parents around the corner. Yeah, hey, guys,
I'm a cancer. What can I tell you? I'm emotional,
(33:12):
but you know what, I think you're here to change
a lot of people's lives, and you know, I admire you,
I love you, and I just want to say thank
you for everything you've done for me, for allowing me
to be here in your life to help you. You've
you've helped me so much in this past year that
my mom passed away. Oh my Omi, of course, what
(33:35):
do I always tell you? God allowed me to go
through it first, I can help you through it. Sorry, Okay,
it's okay, you're gonna make me cry, no, but yeah,
I'm grateful to have you and you know that you
helped me along that part of my life and still
to this day, like sorry, I don't even I don't
want to, I don't know what I'm okay, it's okay,
(33:57):
like I was saying, till today's still to this day,
like you've had patience with me and and yeah, I
want to cry no more, but yeah, I just thank you.
Thank you for attill of course, of course if the
feeling is mutual, and you know I love you and
cheers too many many more years to come, And thank
you for being on the podcast for real and inspiring
(34:19):
other people because I'm sure I've get it a lot
actually at autograph signings are like, I want to work
for you chickies, how do I do it? And hey,
you never know, maybe the next Carol g assistant or
I don't know is listening to the podcast and they're
going to get inspired by you. So thank you. And
with that, we are going to close out today's episode
(34:40):
with our usual motivational quote, which I want to do
a little different. I want oh Me to share a
motivational quote with us. So do you have one? I
do I have two? Can I read too? Yes? Oh
my Godeah. Of course. The first one says, a leader
takes people where they want to go. A great leader
takes people where they don't necessarily want to go, but
out to be. Oh I love it nice. You do
(35:03):
that to a lot of people in their lives. And
the second one is not many people have the privileged
work under someone as caring and understanding as you and
grateful for that. And if I had to pick a
boss again, I'll definitely pick you. Is that really a
cool or does it really? Yeah? I think that's cute.
Thank you? Thank you, oh Me? Oh I love you.
(35:24):
I love you too, And to all of you listening,
thank you. You're listening you guys every Monday, and I
hope you guys have an amazing week. Kick ass and yeah,
I see you here next week. Bye bye not. This
