Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello, Hello, my wonderful people. Welcome to the Cheeky's and
Chill Podcast. I'm your host Cheeky's, and today's episode is
going to be a Cheeky's After Dark kind of episode,
but not in a sexual way. Instead, we're going to
be talking about what to do to wind down for
the day and how I prepare for the next. For me,
I find that having a routine really sets me up
for success, and so I try to do these things
(00:24):
every night. Okay, enough talking, this is Cheeky's and Chill. Okay,
So I think having a nighttime routine is just as
important as having a daytime routine. You guys, Like I
always say, routine and diligence is one of the easiest
(00:47):
ways to stay on track and to reach your goals.
It's all about discipline. So I mean, I know it's
easy to get caught up in all the craziness of
life and just live day by day. But I'm here
to tell you guys, that is not the answer. So
here's what I do to start winding down my day.
I set my phone to the side, I put it
on silent. I've learned to put it on silent, you guys,
(01:07):
because before. I used to like put it on loud
just in case my siblings needed something, and I started
like my life. Coach was like, it's a disservice that
you're doing to yourself because you don't let your mind
quiet down. Like I'm sure if something happens, God forbid,
they'll call Johnny, or they'll call the media, or they'll
they'll figure out a way to get a hold of you.
(01:28):
But he did teach me that putting my phone on
silent is important. I've been doing that. There are days
when I don't, but I do my best to just
put my phone on silence, set it on the side.
I have a side table. I used to sleep with
my phone, you guys, right under my pillow, right next
to like my body, and it's just so not okay
with all the radiation. Like I don't know, you guys
(01:48):
look that up, but it's just not good. Okay, that's
a whole other thing. But I do like to put
it on like my nightstand and leave it there and
try not to touch it. Then I go to my
restroom and I you my skincare routine. I wash my face,
I put on all my grandmas my net cream. I
always like do my best to put my neck cream
on because a lot of girls, a lot of people
(02:10):
like we just ignore the neck area in the declataire area,
which is like by the boobs in the chest area.
And it's like for me, especially at night, because I
feel like that's when my skincare works the best, is
when I am resting and it's taking all the nutrients
of like my skincare. Sometimes I even feel it's even
more important than like the morning. Obviously it's important to
(02:30):
put like your SPF on for like the day, but
at night, I just feel like your body is like
resting and breathing and your skin, and that's when I
like do my best to put on like on my lotions.
Like I have booby lotion, like a special booby lotion
that I like to put for scars, for like stretch marks,
to just keep them nice and firm. So I try
to do that all the time. My night time routine
(02:51):
takes a while. Sometimes it frustrates the media because he's like, oh,
are you gonna do everything tonight? I'm like, yes, I
have to because it's part of like what makes me happy.
So anyways, I do my skincare routine. I of course
brush my teeth sometimes. I mean, I think we all
do it. When I don't brush my teeth because I'm
like lazy or whatever, I feel like I'm more tired
the next day. Like I don't know if it's just
(03:12):
in my mind, but I feel like when I brush
my teeth that night, I have more energy the next day.
I don't know, that's weird, and I just I've learned
to really take care of my teeth and go to
the dentists and brush them as much as I can
because I feel like a lot of you know, in fermilades,
like sickness comes from the mouth and not taking care
of our teeth and going to the dentists and flossing
and all that stuff. So I like to floss, especially
(03:34):
like my bottom teeth super important. So it's like that's
part of my routine as well. It's just probably my
crazy thinking. But brush your teeth, you guys, don't be
dirty birty anyways. And then oh, I drink water. That's
another thing. Oh, I'm telling you, morning and night water.
I like to just end my nights and start my
mornings with just water. I feel like it's like a plant,
(03:54):
you know, like you're watering the plant. I feel like
I'm watering and giving my organs like something good. And
you know, it's not like a soda or a juice
or milk. It's like something good. So like I love
drinking water at night as well, and I take my vitamins.
That's when I take my vitamins at night, Like my
multi vitamin, I take that, and I take my BE
twelve pill. They're chewable. It doesn't matter how drunk I am,
(04:15):
how tired I am, I will do my best to
not forget to take my vitamins. Like I'm so big
on that. So in the morning, I take another set
of vitamins, but at night it's my multi vitamin, my
Ernka pills they're chewable, and my BE twelve all chewable
and it's kind of like a candy. I do that
obviously before brushing my teeth, but whatever, and then I
just drink water and I pray. That's when I like
(04:38):
to get on my knees right before going to sleep,
and I just thank God for the day. And if
I have to say sorry about something because maybe like
someone cut me off and I was like, f you,
and they took me out of my character. Then I'm like, God,
I'm sorry, I like sept f you to that guy
and for cutting me off, like help me tomorrow to
be a better person, and just you know, like that's
when I'm like, oh, probably should say sorry tomorrow to
that person if I've said something mean, because you know
(05:00):
I'm not perfect and you know I try. So that's
why I take my time to kind of like just
say thank you for my day, and I get on
my knees and it's pretty short. It's not as long
as like my morning prayer routine, but at night, I
think it's important to just close the day off. And
just the way I see it is, I don't know
if I'll wake up. You never know if I mean
sounds crazy, but like if you die in your sleep,
like you just don't know. And for me, it's like
(05:22):
I want to make sure I ask God for forgiveness
and I say thank you because I want to go
to heaven. So that's how I see it. I'm like, God,
I'm sorry, you know, forgive me for my sins, help
me become a better person tomorrow and thank you for everything,
and hopefully I wake up tomorrow. And when I wake
up in the morning, I'm like, ah, thank you God,
you gave me another day, you know. But I just
think about it that way. I'm like, imagine if I
forget to say sorry and to forgive me for my
(05:44):
sins and I die, and then I get caught in
like in the middle, and I don't go to heaven.
Oh no. So that's why I feel like that's a
huge part of my nighttime routine, you guys. To unwind anyways,
I pray, then I get in bed and I watch
a little bit of TV, and then I do blive
back screen meditation you guys on YouTube. There are times
when I'm like, Okay, I'm just gonna turn off the
(06:04):
TV and just sit. And it's been helping me so much.
I go on YouTube and I search black screen because
you don't want all these lights and things like hitting you.
Like It's that's why they say it's best to sleep
in darkness, like complete darkness, because it really does help
your mind shut down and your eyes and it helps
you have a more RESTful sleep. And I've noticed that
(06:28):
when I do that, when I put the black screen meditation,
and there's one that says whole body healing, I put
like that one, and I just play it out through
the night and I just sleep so good, and I
wake up even better since I put on my phone too,
like just sleeping noises or something like that just to
kind of help you. Just you just get more of
(06:49):
like a RESTful sleep, and I feel like I don't
wake up as often during the night, like in the
middle of the night when I do that. One thing
that is very important to me personally is we have
Cheeky's and we have Jenae. Cheeky's the artist. Cheek is
the one the glitz and the glam and you know,
(07:11):
the work and the interviews and the emails and the
siblings kind of in a way, and I learned to
just put her away, like literally like just say, okay,
I'm stripping her off, especially when I've had like a
video shoot, a photo shoot and it's like extensions and makeup,
and it's like, literally just buy Cheeky's. You know, we're
gonna put you away. I'll see you later, and I
(07:34):
just step into Jenney, which is everything we just talked
about my night routine and the importance of just literally
whinding down and just disconnecting myself from Cheeky's and from
the world and really having that time for myself, for
my partner, to prepare myself for the next day, because
(07:54):
I feel like janay me, I'm still the same person.
It's the same person, but I just I had to
do that for my piece of mind of separating both
because I feel like for a long time, Cheekys was
taking a toll on me emotionally, so I had to
just learn to just separate the two. For me, It's like, Okay,
in order to be the best Cheeky's, I have to
be the best Jenae. So Jenna's a hippie. Jenna's you know,
(08:17):
she meditates and I you know, that's that's Jenne. And
I like to eat healthy and I like, you know.
So it's like every day I try my best to
be the best version of Jenee to help Cheeky's out.
So anyways, that and I'm telling you it varies every
day because sometimes I have late dinners or whatever, I
have certain things that happen, So sometimes I turn her
off at eight, sometimes at ten. It just all depends,
(08:38):
but I turn that bitch off, like Cheeky's get your ass.
We got to focus on Jenae. So and it's like
literally since I got to talk to myself in the
mirror and be like, okay, Cheeky's like stop stop put
your phone down, stop looking at the emails, stop texting,
stop being on Instagram. Yeah. I literally like have to
talk to myself out loud and it helps. It works,
So maybe you should talk to yourself and just say okay, yeah.
(09:00):
Like being on TikTok all damn night, it keeps you up.
It gives you anxiety, you guys, Like, it really does
if that's the last thing that you're doing at night
is you're on social media. I've learned from experience, it
just it's just too much. That's why I'm like, I've
learned to just tell my fingers, my thumbs because sometimes
they just want to go straight to social media to
be like no, stop, you got to stop yourself because
(09:23):
it causes a lot of things, emotional things I feel.
So that's just my two cents on that. And another
thing I do before I go to sleep, and you know,
while I'm doing my vitamins and all that stuff, I
love to set my vitamins for the morning and my
clothes like if I'm going to go to the gym,
like especially in my gym clothes. It's like I already
like to have it already ready so that I could
(09:45):
just wash my face, brush my teeth, finish all that stuff.
I put like my vitamins in my pocket and I
usually take them and eat them because they're chewable on
the way to the gym. But like everything's already there
and set. Like I was that type of girl the
night before school. I would even try on my clothes.
You guys, I have it already already, like set on
the floor with the shoes and the scrunche I was
(10:07):
going to wear. And I've always been that type of girl,
Like I like to plan. I'm very organized, so I
do that with my gym clothes. Now. I don't know
it just I feel like it just makes it easier
and it holds you accountable. Even if you wake up
and you're like I don't really want to work out,
but then you see you're like, no, put on your
workout clothes, girl, go to the gym. It just keeps
me accountable. And I'll be honest, it has been a
(10:28):
little harder, and I hope that it doesn't offend Emilio,
but like living with someone like it does make it
harder for you to like stay on top of your shit,
you know what I mean. Like, sometimes it's like I
get it. Sometimes I just want to go in bed
and not do my whole like nighttime routine or my
you know, because it's like you want to spend time
with that person, you know. But I've learned that. I'm like,
(10:48):
if I don't do it, I start getting frustrated with
myself and in my relationship. And I'm like, no, like,
I know how important it is to just do this.
So even though sometimes I feel a little anxio, I'm like, no,
you have to do it's best for yourself, like I have.
I give myself therapy because it has been and especially
in the beginning, it was kind of like I don't
(11:08):
want him to feel like I'm ignoring him or this
is more important or whatever. But I've learned that if
I don't do this for myself, it will cause issues
not only in my relationship and my life. I won't
be as disciplined, I won't be as motivated, you know.
So it's like it's important and it could sound silly
like oh, like, oh, it's just taking your vitamins and
(11:29):
brushing your teeth and all that, but know that stuff
makes me happy, like it really does. Like I want
to age gracefully, which means I need to like do
my skincare routine at night, Like I need to brush
my teeth because I want to be healthy. I need
to take my vitage because I want to be all
that is a part of making and keeping me happy.
And if I'm happy, then I can work happy, then
I can love happy, then I can live happy, you know.
(11:52):
So it was a little bit of work, and it
still is sometimes some days to find that balance when
you're sharing space with someone else. But I'm pretty tea
and I usually do what I want and it's worked
out for me. So anyone that's in your life is
gonna have to understand that, or they're gonna have to
get on the same you know what I mean, Like
you gotta get yourself a routine too, So we're on
(12:14):
the same page, you know, all right, you guys. So
that is my spiel. I hope you enjoyed it. I
love you, guys. Thank you for listening to Cheeky's and Chill.
