my far left, we got my dog Bishop be hearing
out the pearlies.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
How you what? Nasty?

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Nasty?

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Let's get to Bay listen.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Norman, he had a uniform and I'm saying he's stunned
the new Ja Norman. He wear the black Forces with
the white lacest you know what I'm saying. With some
of the craziest shoes you've ever wrestled in. You know
you got the off white so on the Prestos Classics.

Speaker 6 (03:31):
Come on, these are actually brand new. I picked these
up during Fanatics Fest. I went over to to what
was it, man, some shoe store. I forgot what it was.
Fight club, fight Club, fight Club. Yeah, they hooked it up.
But I think the craziest part I've ever wrestled in
is like, uh, the sock Balenciagas. Oh yeah, that was

(03:54):
absolutely terrible. And it wasn't on purpose either. I left
my boots at the hotel.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
The spring you ak on them?

Speaker 6 (04:00):
I mean I taped it, but either way, like you
could still like feel it, bro. And the funniest part
about it is they made a like a Tops card
of me doing like a springboard and it's like the
most crooked springboard like that's ever been on the Tops
card because it's just no bounds.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Said you a hell of an athlete. I have no
stability at least socks for sure, that's for sure. My right,
My dog young Nacho, Young Tig, got.

Speaker 7 (04:25):
You what chilling, Bro. It's an honor right here. We
got a champ in a building.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Y'all know I'm a wrestling fanatic, so to have him here,
I don't seen his story since a kid. Yeah, to
see where he is now, it's pretty dope. So I'm
happy to have him on the show. I'm introduced him.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Shout out to Schohn Man outs here SummerSlam. Like we said,
it's only right we got the champ with us. Man,
we'll go wait for this episode. Di'mond cereal in the building,
Big Dog. Appreciate you sliding on the mad Man. Thank
you guys for having me. I see it's a kind
of little chip you on the vibes on the twenty
year anniversary too.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Yeah, come on, now that's hard, bro, man.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
I grew up watching your pops man come on, legend,
where was that Warrior ramble? Not seeing my boy come out?

Speaker 5 (05:03):
I was geezed, which one one? Yeah, it was in
our hometown and Indy. Yeah, moms came out.

Speaker 6 (05:12):
He erupted in the he's he's trash, but still, Bro,
I mean, for for real, he's put he's he's pushing fifty.
He's like fifty one now, But I don't know.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
It's funny because he's new to the rest of where
obviously he's aware of it, but like for him to
be locked in, well like that, that's what.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Made that Poms came out, Bro, I stood up. I
don't do that, fan boys. Mom came out.

Speaker 7 (05:44):
It's uhy like.

Speaker 6 (05:46):
Seeing a real life lever carn.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
You know, you get excited because you don't see him
off the.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Big Yeah, Tig lifelong wrestling fan.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Yeah, so tap it was. You spoke very hoigh with
him very early. Nah, I say he was gonna be
a star. I mean when he first came into the
wrestling business. Obviously I seen him when he had the
you know Eddie Garrell or if he was legend, his
pops had a beef and they were fighting up who
was the father the custody match against.

Speaker 7 (06:19):
Him not seeing him, and it was just like, yeah,
you know about.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
This, No, I'm here to liar your dad.

Speaker 6 (06:27):
Was, so I'll I'll give you a quick breakdown. So basically,
you're aware that my dad alleged his Raymond sterial. So
in two thousand and five, Eddie Guerrero came out and
said that back in the day, he wrote a book
that he was going through some troubles. Back in the day,
he had a kid that he couldn't take care of,
and that kid was me.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (06:47):
So he came out and started this whole custody battle
over me, saying that he is now in the right
place and he wanted me back. So they fought for
my custody in summer slamming to the legendary storyteller, like
where you grew up up. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's all.
I did another podcast I believe it was with Logan

(07:08):
and they called it childhood Trauma.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
That's at the top of the list.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
That's crazy though, listen, bory is what they imagin said
that wrestled out.

Speaker 6 (07:20):
Yeah, and I was I was sitting there, so the
whole story. I was sitting ringside and I had a
social worker with me, so like I couldn't go home.
There was like a social worker there that was like
taking care of me, like like a whole deal. R.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Now that's how old were you?

Speaker 6 (07:35):
Uh then?

Speaker 3 (07:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (07:36):
I was eight? Eight years old?

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Oh they started with the turchious earl.

Speaker 5 (07:40):
Yeah, you jumped off the porch early this Yeah, that's
hard though, Bro, that's a hard.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Story, no legendary storyline for sure.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
So now to see like the fans react to him
and like even like when you want to build we
were there at WrestleMania, Yeah, and how crazy everybody went,
like what's that feeling like?

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Bro?

Speaker 6 (07:57):
Honestly it was. It was pretty surreal because like I
wasn't expecting that reaction, you know for me. Uh, you
said you're new, right, I got you. For the past
two years, I've been getting booed relentlessly, like I like
doing this out in public, like I'd get booed, like
people don't let me talk. It's like a thing. So
the fact that the fact that I was able to

(08:17):
go out to WrestleMania and like my music hit and
I was getting booed. And then as the match started going,
I just kept hearing my name, kept getting chanted, and
then it just kept going the song. And then as
soon as I won and the crowd went crazy, I
was like, this is this is kind of nuts. And
then I'm still out here getting boots. Yeah, cause I

(08:39):
turned on I turned on my dad. My dead be dead, That's.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
What I say.

Speaker 7 (08:48):
Now.

Speaker 6 (08:52):
Yeah, so I claimed to be the greatest mystery of
all time. I'm third generation, so like my great uncle,
uh than my dad. So so I claim to be
that my uncle has a son too, so he's out.
So there's like four of us out there.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
I mean, do you walk around the family gatherings with
the bill all?

Speaker 6 (09:10):
I mean, if you got it flaunted.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Yeah, a should respect.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
I gotta ask. We know, we asked what people did
before the sport, but growing up in a sport, what
was that?

Speaker 5 (09:21):
Like?

Speaker 4 (09:21):
You know, I'm saying growing up as a kid being
around a business and now being a big part of it.
Is there any differences or like seeing it earlier what
it is and the way it's evolved and now you're
being a big.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
Part of it. Is it changing at all? Is it
just kind of like made you ready for the moment?

Speaker 6 (09:34):
I think it was. I think it was more of
like the yeah, let me turn it off.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
We don't get you could checking that money, But.

Speaker 6 (09:48):
Now, honestly it was. It's it's kind of surreal because
I do things now as an adult based off of
what I saw as a kid and how certain things
were be being done. So like I picked that up
as a kid and now I do it as an adult,
so like or even stuff that I saw like my
dad didn't do, so like I'm doing it now. And

(10:10):
then also like just growing up in and knowing the business,
knowing the ins and outs, like having more respect for
it now being in the industry, you know, for having
respect for the grind, being you know, on the road
three hundred and sixty days out of the year, you know,
no days off, So like that definitely gave me a
lot more respect for what we do now.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
Yeah, Okay, I can't even imagine what you would have done.
Was there anything else you wanted to do outside of
wrestler as you thought growing up? But you might want
to double into it or just knew that like wrestling
was gonna be it.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Nah.

Speaker 6 (10:41):
So honestly, I was never really good in school as
far as like grades go, but I played I played sports.
I played, uh, soccer and football growing up. You know,
I was Mexican, so of course I had a soccer
ball on my on my left foot. But nah, I
went to j C and never really you know, did anything.
So I told Pops. I was like, you know what,

(11:01):
let me give it a shot, see what happens. And
then he told me before I even started training, He's like,
when you get in there the first day, he goes,
I'm gonna know if basically, if you're gonna be dog
shit or not. He goes, I'm gonna let you know
if you got it. If you don't, he goes, first day,
i'm gonna let you go go back to school.

Speaker 7 (11:20):
So here we are now, and he wouldn't do shit.

Speaker 6 (11:24):
Yeah, the greatest mysterial of all time.

Speaker 7 (11:26):
Clock it.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
If I could ask, what's that first day life for you?
Because he's like, all right, I'm jumping off the porch.
What's that first, Mama, you gotta really lock in.

Speaker 6 (11:35):
Honestly, it's it's different for everybody because, like you know,
there's different training and like wrestling schools. So like me,
for example, I was able to start training Luca style
with you know, my dad Raymisterio and my godfather Conan.
But I remember specifically, like a lot of people run
the ropes, maybe learn how to bump. I rolled like

(11:58):
just Luca rolls straight for two hours NonStop to where
like I get dizzy, want to throw up, and then
it'd be like no, just keep rolling all around the
ring just for hours hours. And now I'm pretty sure
I didn't learn how to like bump into like maybe
a couple months in Wow, damn yeah, everyone everyone's different.

(12:18):
Because then after that I went to lived in in Tampa,
Florida for six months, trained with Jay lethal Uh, came
home for a month, and then out to Calgary and
Canada trained with Landstorm for another three months. So I
just did a bunch of like different little training camps
to try to get a little bit of everything, and
then sure enough, when the opportunity presented itself. I jumped
on it.

Speaker 7 (12:38):
Yeah, your godfathers con I have.

Speaker 6 (12:41):
I have six lucha godfathers.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (12:44):
Yeah, all old school like w CW wrestlers. So you
might know him, you might not, but I'll hove into
Gura psychosis. Yea Damien he he wrestled in w CW,
is in the LWO Damien six sixty six. Uh. Who
else we got? Superco I don't know. He's the He

(13:06):
used to come out in w c W with like
a like glasses, silver mask and like a hat never
fell off.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (13:12):
And then Viano he was another luchator. Yeah, I might
be missing one.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
Side Coasters w.

Speaker 6 (13:22):
Side Coast right, I'm not giving you all the finger.
I'm sure I used to like.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Side What all the rolling around help you do? Though?

Speaker 6 (13:32):
It's uh, it's different because it's like Luca style is
very you know when you take certain moves you gotta
roll getting out of the ring or just you know
it just it's part of the basics that you got
to learn. You know, in in like American style, it
would be running the ropes, probably getting at first. Luca style,

(13:53):
you gotta learn new roles.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
Man.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
Nothing saying summer like long days in the Sun, clutch

Speaker 3 (15:00):
That's cool. What's the hardest part about this wrestling shit?

Speaker 6 (15:03):
Uh, probably living through the pain because no matter what,
you're always gonna have aches and pains and the traveling
and stuff. And it's like people don't really realize like
the kind of toll that actually takes on your body,
Like your back callus is up because the ropes are
so hard, and like first day you run the ropes,
like your back is completely bruised, so like your body's

(15:24):
got to get used to that, taking the bumps and
going through all this other shit and then having to
do it again the next day. So it's like just
constantly having to do it no matter if like you're hurting,
you gotta. If you're not.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
A recovery, roots ain't or nothing for it.

Speaker 6 (15:38):
I mean I probably should be better as far as
like getting home and like doing the ice bats and
then getting massages and stuff like that. But I'll just
sit in my game room, just play Call of Day.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Yeah, come on.

Speaker 7 (15:53):
Now, okay, Yeah, I'm trash cod I ain't gonna lie.

Speaker 6 (15:56):
I mean, I'm not. I'm not great, but every now
and then I'll get a little sweaty in there.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
Yeah you streaming, No, no, not yet, got bro.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Yeah we got tap Intam He'll be legendary there. I'm down.
I got it.

Speaker 6 (16:10):
I got a wall of controllers because you know, I
get a little Mexican angry.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Like him.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
Trash out now your streaming room.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
Listen, man, favorite part of the show moments whatch want
to ask? You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
You go through the ropes, become your own man, become
your own name and his business. You start getting them
checks like you the man this business. What's that first
crazy purchase?

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Man?

Speaker 4 (16:36):
Not nothing responsible, not the house. I know, family. But
she was like, nah, song.

Speaker 6 (16:40):
Man, I think my first big purchase was like probably
my car, probably my car. Or I went a little
crazy on at the HELV story, went to the LV.
I went a little crazy at.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
The part do we get there? You brushed over that
real quick? I got that.

Speaker 6 (17:00):
I got myself a rain drover.

Speaker 7 (17:02):
Yeah, but it goes.

Speaker 6 (17:04):
But I started doing a little like man, it's not
a good habit to have. But every WrestleMania that I'm on,
I give myself a new watch to watch. So this
was this was WrestleMania making the mob right right, yeah,

(17:25):
chime in you Yeah, see freaking Mark producer.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
That's what he be.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
There's time we go platter me getting new watch. Yeah yeah,
that's why I got an Apple Watch modest right now?
Okay do you say freaking mike Y, Yeah, that's my artist,
that's right. Okay, what it's finished, I don't know. I
don't know if I want to know whatever, Rocky.

Speaker 6 (17:50):
Steak face, that's that sounds like some freaking I don't
know you very well.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Artists don't watch. Yeah, I started.

Speaker 6 (18:04):
I started getting into myself a little nice little collection.
I used to steal my dad's watches, uh, before I
got my own. You've been in the opposite, you know.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
I would.

Speaker 6 (18:14):
I would steal his watches and go out and I
used to steal his cars too as a kid, and
just you know, drive out and about. He's taking pops
and stuff and pops.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
Right, I know you had that ship too.

Speaker 6 (18:24):
Yeah, he had some good stuff. I would walk around
and they'd be like, how did you get that? You know,
worked hard, worked hard, sneaking in making sure he didn't
hear me in the middle of the night.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
Especially the top of it. It's funny because we talked
to all the wrestles. I talk about the time commitment,
no time to really recover. But as much as I
gotta get a different places tops on the rolls.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
They probably didn't even know. You probably hit the block
and whip even going for two weeks, ain't noticed.

Speaker 6 (18:49):
He Uh, that's funny. He used to have an Audi
R eight all the miles in it because he was gone,
and I would I told my mom. I'd be like, hey,
I'm going to school, and then she didn't know which car.

Speaker 9 (19:00):
I just grabbed the audience out and by the time
and I didn't have a license either, so by the
time they were my mom would call me, I'm like
already down the freeway.

Speaker 6 (19:12):
I'm like sorry, I'm go. I gotta get to school
for sure.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (19:16):
Yeah, that's crazy you all right, yeah yeah license.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (19:23):
Honestly, looking back at it, was it the smartest.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Thing I know?

Speaker 4 (19:27):
You was pressing that pedal for sure too. Yeah, alright,
you gotta press that pedal.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
Damn.

Speaker 6 (19:33):
I have a heavy left foot.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
No wrong, what I'm a wrestling fan. These guys, he's
in a wrestling getting new to it. He finally cleared
to wrestle. Man, you know you've been banged up for
a while. Man, you finally get clear. Now you got
a chance to go against aj Styles Summer Slim. Yeah,
I'm looking forward to it. How you feeling about it?

Speaker 6 (19:58):
Man, I'm feeling pretty good.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
You know.

Speaker 6 (19:59):
It's it's uh, it's my twenty year anniversary. So I
feel like, uh, Summer Slim is like a big pay
per view for for the Mysterial Family, being the I
debuted as a kid in Summer Slam, and then as
a wrestler, I debuted out a SummerSlam, and then when
my dad had his first p L with the company,

(20:20):
it was at SummerSlam. Oh yeah, So like this is
a this is a special special event for us, you know,
especially coming back now twenty years later, and as a
champion too. It's like no one's fighting for my custody.
We're fighting for this and you know, I'm walking in
and out as a champions. So like, I'm looking forward
to it for sure.

Speaker 7 (20:38):
That's dope, man, I'm looking forward to the entrance.

Speaker 5 (20:42):
Yeah, you go Saturday, Orday, Sunday on Sunday, you go
on Sunday, all.

Speaker 6 (20:47):
Right, hope, I hope you get on your feet. I'm
gonna look for you to make sure you're on your
feet like different pops.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
Stand up.

Speaker 7 (20:59):
Yeah, now he's getting it.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Yeah. The funny thing about it is we don't know
for the problem we had that. Yeah, we don't know.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
I'm a boy on the floor.

Speaker 7 (21:11):
I'll figure it out for sure.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
Listen, you've been a part of a lot of matches,
a lot of things going on. What's a crazy moment
or while I member, a moment that people may not know.
I know he's got definitely documentary. I just get a
little bit of behind the scene stuff. But what's a
crazy matter of moment that people may not be too
privy to?

Speaker 1 (21:28):
But you tapped me in with.

Speaker 6 (21:29):
So there's actually a really it's it's a good moment
for me, not so good of a moment for the
other person. It was, man, I want to say backlash
or when when Finn and Damien won the tag team
titles against Sammy and Kevin and they had that big
street fight. When I first came out, I came from

(21:51):
like the side, not the main entrance. The camera guy
and the cord came up so like it was almost
like waste level as a was running through, so I
had to jump over it, almost like hurdling it, and
you couldn't really see it, so they had to slow
mom on it, and the guys in the camera crew
or like in the truck were like, no, I'm just
hurdled this fucking chord, and that kind of threw me off.

(22:12):
So the bad part was when I came in, I
hit Kevin Owens with the edge of my elbow and
I just sliced them like it was like a perfect
slice where I like barely nicked them and it got
him completely and he came out and he was just
dripping blood. So I think that's like one of those
moments where people don't really know that like there was

(22:33):
like a chord in the way, so like, I mean,
I was still gonna hit him, but like just it
was supposed to be like that.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
So what's that conversation Like, I know, receiver, So what's
that conversation after the bench is just like ah, it's
part of business or I'm gonna get you back.

Speaker 6 (22:47):
It was it was more of like, uh, like here's
a water bottle and a towel my bad Like obviously
I didn't mean to hit him with my elbow, but
like I don't know. I wrestled him a couple of
times and I came out unscathed, So I think we're good.
I want to say words, good you are.

Speaker 4 (23:05):
About the pay receipts, Yeah, I've I've been told my
frog splashes a little heavy, so I've I know I've
gotten a few receipts after that.

Speaker 6 (23:17):
In this Oh yeah, uh not many, thank goodness. But
I've my my more serious ones. Uh, Like I my ribs.
A couple of weeks ago, I dislocated my two lower
ribs and they were digging into my cartilage. So that
was why I was actually like hurt. Everyone thought I
was faking it, but I was actually hurt. And then
my first match as a as a bad guy, I

(23:37):
wrustled edge and I did a frog splash and I
cracked my rib and it punctured a lung and then
I finished the match, and then I just remember not
being able to catch my breath and I told the doctor.
I was like, oh no, no, I'm good. Went back to
the locker room. Ten minutes later, I was like, I
still can't breathe. I was like, this is like, this
ain't right. Sure enough, went to the hospital and they're like, yeah,

(23:58):
you got animal thorax. You can't play home. I was like,
oh sick.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
What's crazy about that? It's all right, man, got about
two weeks?

Speaker 6 (24:08):
Yeah, literally, like, all right, back to it. As long
as he's good to go. Can you breathe? He's good.

Speaker 7 (24:13):
That's crazy.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
That is crazy. Bro. That's the toughest sport in the world.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
Bro.

Speaker 6 (24:17):
Yeah, I really do think so.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
Yeah, people feel worse about it, but they're crazy.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
I'm like, which I have to do, especially travils schedule,
which I put your body through, and the way I perform. Bro,
that's it's unmatched. Bro, you gotta really love it, like
there's no way. But I used to respect wrestling. I
ain't gonna lie to like that. I'm gonna keep it
real brow.

Speaker 5 (24:34):
I went to AH I was about your age, about eight,
and I went to rest match and I seen him
swing and they missed and he fell down.

Speaker 6 (24:43):
Do you remember who that wrestler?

Speaker 3 (24:44):
My child trauma? I don't even remember.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
I was gonna say he probably wasn't very good at
the job.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
But ever since then, because when he when I first
started really kicking with him, he's a big restling I'm like, bro,
it's so wame that you like, just so entertained. But
then we went in our hometown and I had a
brought you back for real and we sat there for
about four or five hours maybe, and then they didn't
realize it, didn't even realize.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
First wrestled with Okay, I got that's a good one
to go to.

Speaker 5 (25:13):
Yeah, you know what I mean. So I'm entertained. I'm
tapping he's back.

Speaker 6 (25:20):
We got to get you right now. None of this
is very very mysterial bullshit.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
You like being a hill I love it. Yeah, I
just think it. Uh.

Speaker 6 (25:32):
It gives me more freedom to be able to say
and do what I want. And it's more of a
chance to you know, ask for forgiveness instead of permission.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
And you can tell about a response to the fans.
They rocking with it too.

Speaker 6 (25:46):
Yeah, I mean I haven't changed anything, you know, Like
I'm an dick to him when I see them, you know,
and it's like they get a kick out of it.
So like for me, I'm just you know, I'm just
doing my job and I'm having fun to do it.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
