Speaker 5 (03:24):
Thank you, Thanks for having me.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Hell a season? You have it right now?

Speaker 1 (03:27):
How are you feeling? What's you know what I'm saying
first time wall? What's this experience?

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Like?

Speaker 4 (03:32):
I'm feeling good. I mean it's been the kind of
a weird two three years. You know, I've been like
in and out of the league a little bit, playing
with you know, national team and overseas commitments. So it's
just nice to have a full season in the W
and for it to be going so well.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Most w All right, now for our Bootsmobi question shot
out to Bootsmoke with twenty five dollars unlimited nationwide tapping
on Bootsmoke. You feel bootmob tapping? Gabby said, you trying
to lock in you see the Vostar show. Yeah, you
know what I'm saying. Nice feat. You know your Jordan
brand athlete. You know what I'm saying, having a little
bit of up and downs ended w what's that like
when you saw your first shoe contract? I see the commercial,
you know what I'm saying, dropping, what's that feeling like?

Speaker 4 (04:05):
My first contract specifically with Jordan was crazy. I was like,
I couldn't believe that Jordan wanted to sign me, and
I was excited about it. Our national team, you know,
Francis old Jordan.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
Yes, she is Jordan.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
So I thought that was a really cool crossover because
I was doing a lot of stuff. My first presentation
with Jordan was the K fifty four in Paris, so
that was a dream come true for sure.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
For sure?

Speaker 1 (04:24):
What's that like? You know what I'm saying. Obviously, you
know your biggest of the fashion and stuff like that.
To have those two combined obviously with the home country
and then the whole Jordan one, right, so when they
go crazy over there every year? What's that like to
be involved in that?

Speaker 4 (04:34):
Like you said, I mean, it's like where fashion meets
sport meets culture meets everything meets street. So it's just
so fun because it's all the things that I love,
and I think Jordan brand like really represents me as
a person and what I like.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
So just lucky that it kind of worked out that way.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Yeah, I was seen the commercial. I was like, ah,
yeah that's far.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Yeah, commercials dope so essential a Jordan brand athlete, like
he said, we big on here, we get too.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
We love.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Now it's going ahead and get to.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
We like George, Now you look around everybody over here,
got pair. It's right now he missed to work out
in here and getting out the mouth.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Man here go ahead, tap us in though or they
just dropped?

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Does the truck just pull up? Like? How is that?
Like when you get your march? Are you getting twenty
pair of shoes? One hundred outfish?

Speaker 5 (05:26):
Honestly?

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Yeah, Like everything I have on now is the first
time I put it on. Like I feel like I
don't really got to wear things twice on hold. Yeah,
Like Jordan's between any of the brand I've ever been with,
Like they send us these elite packages every month, so
you have us coming out, so they always keep us
looking nice.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
For sure, I'm gonna shout out Jeff Jordan. You know
you'd be writing me on the pile, you know you
texting me some times like.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
George got the best war suits.

Speaker 6 (05:56):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
I ain't seen that one.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
New ship, but I got a shout out Jazz then okay, yeah,
who signed me?

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Okay Jazz? Her husband Rock is my guy? Yeah for sure,
I can't. That's my man to the family, for sure.
What do you decide to play? You know what I'm saying.
I know you very peculiar with the fashion you go
or whatever. You know, you just rock the same pair
a couple of shoes. You switching it up to act
the outfits.

Speaker 5 (06:18):
I switch it up.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
I switched it up.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
I actually do like the same two style like pairs
like shoes, and then I'll switch up the colors as
much as I can. And Jordan has made me some
pees which have been I love so sometimes I wear
my pee so much that I get sick of them.
And then so I tried to go back to the ring.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Stuff is flexing out it all the time.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
I loved it. I loved it to the others man
for sure.

Speaker 6 (06:47):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
We talk about a high school legend, you know what
I'm saying, Growing up Arena? What was that like? What
was the hoops scene out like there out there?

Speaker 4 (06:53):
It was like the tumbleweed honestly, But honestly it was
it was like it's a small town and everyone knows everybody.
And then my dad had an academy that I grew
up playing in, but I would go to like the
Bay Area a lot, you know, a bit more competition
and exposure. But it was cool because you know, a
lot of my best friends to this day are people
I grew up playing against and playing with. So the

(07:15):
basketball community is small, but I'm trying to, you know,
give back and help it grow a little bit right now.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Definitely like you play anyone in high school that we
would know that. It was like, yeah, I met my
match a little bit, not.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
Necessarily in Renal. I mean when I started playing in Cali,
maybe a little bit. I started playing against like like Jordan, Canada,
a lot and buildings. I was playing against them all
the time. But I'm too Yeah they're my generation. I
think I played against Kelsey a little bit, but not
necessarily Reno.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
I meant, no.

Speaker 5 (07:47):
Disrespect, not a small town, no respect to Reno.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
You understand yourself. You was like that, we look at
where you're at now, your journey.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
You was killing the.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Hospital, for sure, No wrong with for sure.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
I always give ahead a little bit too much with this,
But you know what I'm saying, you have in a
relationship with like the Brian family, So them coming out
to your high school games and stuff like that, Like
what's that like when you like, all.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
Right, I made it now they come to watch me play.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
I mean that was.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
A full circle moment for sure, Like and then getting
to work out with them and like literally learning from
the best ever to do it was was insane and
like it's it's a memory that I'm just so.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
Lucky that I have.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
And what's a Kobe workout like? Because we always somebody
you know what I'm saying. At first in the gym
before everybody else was three in the morning.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
It wasn't.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
But I asked him, I was like, what do you
do like with your day now that you're done playing?

Speaker 5 (08:33):
Like what is a normal Kobe day?

Speaker 4 (08:34):
He's like, I still woke up before workout and then
I drive the girl's squad, make breakfast. Like he's just
still very disciplined in just his day of being a dad,
which was crazy.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
Yeah, But the workout, it was a lot of reps.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
I remember he would rep everything like twenty times until
you like did it perfectly, and then we would go
on to the next thing.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
That's one thing that like stuck out about his.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
Workout for me, Yeah, that was that's not my workout.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
You got five makes next spot? Yeah, Dad.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Have you playing against the guys growing up?

Speaker 5 (09:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (09:05):
I played against the boys all the time. My uncle
he ran the boys side at the academy, and I
actually played growing up actually, like probably primary school, middle school.
I was mostly just playing on like the boys team,
to be honest.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Yeah, all right, so that's how you your skills up,
for sure, you think playing with the guys.

Speaker 5 (09:21):
I think it did. It was a bit more competitive,
a little bit more physical. More physical.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Now the defense makes sense now, yeah, yeah, I get it,
it makes sense now.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
The fouls, Yeah, already you go on the black. Yeah,
somebody's going the police.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
She's going for a record.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Your bang is going up, she unlimited.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
Sure. Obviously you go crazy in high school and then
now it's tiying to make that college decision. You know
what I'm saying. What's that like for you? Because obviously
everybody wanted you to pull up mm hmm.

Speaker 5 (10:03):
Yeah, that's ternalizing the questions. No, no, nothing like that.
I think it was like once Yukon started recruiting me,
I was like, I'm.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Going to Yukon.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
Yeah, well, I mean having Geno come to my game
the first time was wild. It was actually crazy is
the first time they came to watch me play. The
assistant Shay Ralph came to Reno to watch me, and
the next day I told my freaking a c O
what The next morning I tore my a CEO. So
something told me like this is destiny that like Yukon
saw me play like right before I was hurt, and
I was like, they got a chance to see me

(10:36):
and recruit me and get to know them. But I
was like divine timing.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
I think I couldn't imagine emotional high and low like
that back to back, like are you can here?

Speaker 3 (10:44):
And then you have an injury? Damn what?

Speaker 5 (10:47):
I was a junior and then I redid it my
senior year.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Two years in crazy.

Speaker 5 (10:54):
It wasn't fun.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
But luckily Yukon got a chance to like check me
out before, so it still worked out. And Yukon was like,
come get the surgery with us, can rehab with us.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
So like what is that like though, like I had
surgery before, but like doing it back to back years.
Do you get to a point where it's just like, man,
I don't know if I'm gonna keep doing this.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
When I found out that I needed the second surgery,
I like I broke down.

Speaker 5 (11:15):
I was, oh, that was tough. The first one.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
I was like, Okay, I'm still young. I'm gonna get
through it. It's fine, Like I'm a junior. And then
I found out about my senior year. I was like,
I have to do that all over again, like it
was an exact calendar year.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
Man, damn.

Speaker 5 (11:29):
Yeah, it was like January, and then I had to
do it again in January. So that was tough.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
But once I got to Yukon, because I went to
Yukon like three or four months later, it was it
was cool.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
I was like, all right, I'm in something. Now I'm
in a new environment.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
So yeah, people don't know.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
But after that day said the first two or three
weeks for like years, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
He tour, he tore his he didn't go to the hospital.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
And I wasn't. I wouldn't aleute either, No, I definitely couldn't.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
I had to wait. I tour.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
It was walk it off.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
I'm gonna say, it's crazy, you know what I'm saying
I had insurance, but wasn't the cold insure I in December? Yeah,
I thrown myself in December the second week in December.
It wasn't two weeks Christmas. What's after that?

Speaker 3 (12:09):
New Years? So all the doctors like, yeah, I'm working
with my family.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
So I didn't until after New Year, so I would
definitely quit walking around the city.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
Some people don't ever get it done though, Like some
people just live their lives like, no, we have no nothing.
It was like people non athletes like but still like yeah,
I know some people less.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
Yeah, It's like, OK, now, go get it fixed.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Well you're a man. Tell what else you battled.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
Your body at least my problem if a mergency break out,
you are in trouble. No running, it's no, you ain't
got no side to side, no ducking at all.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Man shout out to the virus show there.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Man, but listen before we go any further, gos love,
we gotta get for you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
Good people at Tommy John I gotta get before both.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
A bad sorry about that and man shout out to
the good people at Tommy John.

Speaker 3 (13:03):

Speaker 1 (13:03):

That's what you need to breathe, sweat fighting fabrics. I
love to Tommy John. Keep you cool man. They got
all the technology to keep you safe and cool in
the summer.

Speaker 3 (13:14):

Speaker 1 (13:16):
You know what I'm saying. Tap in Club five twenty.
Get you a little percentage off there. Okay, I got
tom John. Okay, we don't want to close up for that.
Shout out to be here for shore. Like we said, hey,
tap in Tommy John. You know like when you see it.

Speaker 5 (13:34):
So far, nice material, this is nice.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
Club five twenty. Tap in, that's Tommy John dot com.
We appreciate you all for show.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Nice and comfortable.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Come on, man, some time get wicked outside they drive there.

Speaker 5 (13:50):
I know I'm claiming girls.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
So was defense always your primary thing or was you
like a scorer first both?

Speaker 4 (14:01):
I think like growing up, I was just a lot
more athletic I think than everyone. It wasn't even about
like the basketball at that age. It was just like
you can run faster and jump higher. So I think
that I mean to be a good defender and score.
But when I started going to college and like playing
the pros, I learned that like, defense is going to
keep me on teams. Defense is going to get me minutes,

(14:21):
Defense is gonna get me paychecks. So I think that's
when kind of like the okay, you are actually a
defensive mind or player, you know, kind of came.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
Into play and you started with a cheeko because you
started off in track. Yeah, you know it was a
real athlete before you started flooring.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Run Joe.

Speaker 5 (14:41):
I used to I can't dunk no more.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
I believe you were a hurdles.

Speaker 5 (14:48):
I think I played volleyball like one season in middle school.
But nah, he.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Probably would have been. I mean, clearly you doing what
you love, but you on the it was.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
It was a cute little moment, but wouldn't a vibes
at all.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
All.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
Right, now, you know what I'm saying, you get to
the point prestigious Yukon win or it don't matter. What's
that like walking on campus day one with all them
type of expectations.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
Yeah, I think I didn't realize like just I mean,
I knew Yukon was like the best school and had
all these championships, but you don't know.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
I mean, they don't got more but the best Tennessee
after Tennessee got something some trouble South Carolina.

Speaker 6 (15:42):
No disrespect, but I obviously disagree, obviously disagree, but anyways,
a few moments for the shout out to Tennessee not
respectful for especially what Donna is doing right now.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
He is building a dynasty. That's now debate about that,
but the dynasty talk about.

Speaker 5 (16:05):
It's like and you.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
Feel it as soon you step on campus, and then
you have to ask yourself, oh am, I actually built
for this because everyone wants to be cute and everyone
wants to have the championships. But it is actually an
insane kind of like like I don't know, just pressure.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Cooker, you got an environment, you got a crazy story
about coach you can tell.

Speaker 5 (16:27):
Publicly. We I don't know. I was actually just talking.

Speaker 4 (16:32):
I was talking about this yesterday because Page and I
obviously like what ten years twelve years apart, and she
was like, like, what was coach like when you were there?
And I was like, you know, there's a lot of
times where it's like a bit. You know, he's gonna
get at you. It's gonna be really hard, you're gonna
hate him. And then you get older and I'm like,
he was right about a lot of things. Actually I
don't want I didn't want to admit it, but that

(16:54):
man was right about.

Speaker 5 (16:54):
A lot of stuff.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
And we got talking about your squad too, damn near
everybody in that squad in the w and danger, Like
what's that light you walking in with future Hall of
famers on the squad?

Speaker 4 (17:07):
Yeah, I was thinking about it yesterday when I was
seeing like Fee and Stewie and everyone and Paige, I
was just like, dang, we do have still mad Youukon
people everywhere like and it's just yeah, and like, even
if we all didn't play with each other, it all
still kind of feels like a family because we all
know what the other has gone through.

Speaker 5 (17:23):
So, like I said, he is right. He knows how
to make the best product.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
What's the old girl from here that play the Yukon She.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
Went to her?

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Yeah, I forgot her name.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
She was wrong.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
She was nice too, She was well Kristin No.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
No, not Christian. She was a killer. She went to
Hero just Christian. Yeah, she had a burner, was small.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Man, I'm mad, I don't remember now. She was real
good in high school. She went to Yukon.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Kelly, Yeah, that's legend.

Speaker 5 (17:56):
Kelly Farris.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
Yeah, yeah, she was a bucket.

Speaker 5 (18:00):
She just wanted to watch it.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
And she held it down at a small school. Yeah,
show show what was in battles? Like in practice though
at each other.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
Like uh, they they were at us. I think like
they were hard. I mean, coaches just make you. I
just remember never feeling so out of shape in my
whole life. And I was like the athlete, you know,
I was the one running my house and I came
I was like, damn, maybe I'm not well. Yeah, I
wasn't as good as I thought I was. I wasn't
as in shape as I thought. I was definitely not

(18:30):
as disciplined. So it's kind of like you're gonna catch
up or we're gonna leave you behind kind of thing.
And we would always make sure that they always made
sure our practices were harder than our games, so that
we were kind of prepared for anything like that.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
For y'all too.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
They were good, like her coach was proven, something like
my coach was unproven. My coach died, so the assistant
coach was improve and so we did whatever we wanted.
What you know, like they said the prisoners was running
who was running the jail.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
There's another dark ass.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
It's true. It's true, like her coach was proven.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
They when you went to Yukon, you knew you were
going to Ukon because you wanted to play for him
and he had set a certain standard. I went to school.
My coach died when I got there, so whoever got
the job, nobody was who's this guy?

Speaker 3 (19:23):
So we had.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
So damn hard over there.

Speaker 5 (19:30):
He's just the truth.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
So I mean, I didn't want to go to a
school like that, though. I didn't want to play for
a team that had that kind of like prestige.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
I just remember coach like when he was recruiting me
and he signed me in his office and he was
just like, you can come here if you want, but
if you don't, you'll just lose.

Speaker 5 (19:46):
Like we'll win a championship with it without you.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Like I wouldn't have been I wouldn't have felt good.
How did that make you feel?

Speaker 5 (19:55):
I was like, okay, I'll come tomorrow. Like he doesn't.
He does it to almost all of his recruits.

Speaker 4 (20:01):
I learned as kind of like a test of like
is this do you want it to be about you?

Speaker 5 (20:06):
Or do you want it to be about us?

Speaker 7 (20:08):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (20:08):
Okay? He would have lost me. I was, okay, I'm
gonna beat y'all. That's how I would have took that.
You try to draw forty, you get seventy five with
your car. All right, now listened second year. You know
what I'm saying. You do what Yukon does best. What's
that feeling like?

Speaker 5 (20:24):
Yeah? I know that was. That was a crazy feeling.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
National championship, undefeated season, undefeated too. I remember those stuies
last year and she was like, let's just make memories.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
Like was it easy to be honest?

Speaker 5 (20:37):
Oh no, it was not easy.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
You don't pop ship all show keep it real.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
Yeah, it was not easy, y'all, y'all walk through that. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (20:47):
But like I said, because what we did behind closed.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
Doors a lot okay hard? What was the games easy?

Speaker 5 (20:53):
The games we were well prepared for.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
That built.

Speaker 5 (21:02):
Playing like Brianna Stewart though, also makes life. Yes, games
are much easier.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Yeah, I was killing people. I was like, oh my goodness,
you remember your best game that year.

Speaker 4 (21:13):
I was excited about the Final four because I got
to like start and I had like a big role
in it and everything. Because my first year that we won,
I didn't really play very much. So it was cool
to be like, Okay, I played a part.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
In this one.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
Now that next year, what's that like?

Speaker 5 (21:29):
The next year was? The next year actually started off
pretty good.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
Yeah, started off good because everyone was like what are
they going to do without Stewie, Mow and Tuck. And
it was kind of up to like me, Fi and
Lou and to kind of like be the next you know, Core.
And it was going better than anyone expected, which was cool,
like we were beating all these beating everyone's expectations. And
then the Minsissippi State game. Yeah, just weren't ready for

(21:55):
the Final four.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
Going to the Final four though, Like dude, like are
they excited? Like the U conferences like, yeah, we made
to the final four? Is they're like, oh, it's a
let down?

Speaker 5 (22:06):
No, they lived for the final four Yukon.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
Fans, because I feel like if you don't go to
the championship and your Yukon like yeah, in one law,
that's crazy. Like one loss is like oh damn, we
had to mess up, Like we had a hell of
one game for to go to the final four. We
building new things. Lose definitely for sure, for sure, that's good.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
You ca it, like damn it.

Speaker 4 (22:32):
Next year, I mean my record was like something however,
many wins and three losses, but two of those losses
were a freaking national championship, you know, like there.

Speaker 5 (22:41):
Were two big losses. Me, I don't care about that record,
And I was like.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
Yeah, unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
I know I'm jumping ahead, but what's that like when
you only lose three games in college and then you
go to the W or you go overseas and now
you lose, you know, like what I think?

Speaker 4 (23:06):
It was kind of a weird relief and like not
having kind of pressure. It was a different kind of
pressure because it was my hero. I was trying to
find my way. But I just remember just trying to
keep like my head above water and just trying to
like learn the ropes of the W And I was
just focused on we weren't winning, so I was just focused,
I think on a million other things of just trying
to like figure myself.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
Out in the league. Now, Freaky might pull it up
your record that's correct for eight.

Speaker 5 (23:33):
Yeah, but that's all I think about. Are the two
even the one?

Speaker 4 (23:36):
All three were in overtime, All three were Yeah, so
you damn or win if.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
She's like that's a rehash also, but that basically saying
that's a little tough, that's that's a sensative subject for.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
That year, she was the guard I can't William.

Speaker 7 (23:58):
Yeah, she was balling, but she said she was like wood,
that's crazy three, that's crazy insane.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
Now, when I asked you this question, how you feel
like your casher would have been with the n I l.

Speaker 5 (24:16):
Oh Man, Oh my gosh, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
I was.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
I remember like me and Stewie after the national her
fourth national championships, like, which is crazy? Yeah forty you know,
we're getting all this media coverage and we came back
and you're like, what we got to eat?

Speaker 5 (24:32):
I was like, we got some minute rice and some frozen.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
Vegetables and that's what we made for Like are the
celebrit invatory dinner?

Speaker 5 (24:39):
I think I had like maybe some dollar steaks from
I don't know where.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
Y'all was supposed to be in the Glad you didn't
get gone to write you a legend.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
I got you that's what for?

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Like PERI said that before, like they wasn't Yeah, because
you know.

Speaker 4 (24:59):
Different, you con was different because we lived on campus,
so we didn't get like stipend and stuff. We got
like food points to the union, but you used those
food points like in the first two weeks. I remember
like this was illegal, but I was selling my shoes
and stuff, like I was telling my Yukon stuff China.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
Wow, that's that's really crazy because it was like that
away for no facts.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
She was taking care of But for sure for y'all
to do all this winning and you talking about what
we finish eat that should be the last thing.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
They how do they get y'all there? Like you what
is the sale coming?

Speaker 5 (25:37):
Nobody had anything? Like, nobody had an als It's something.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
We were the only school that with Broke College, you
know bro college kids.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
Noah, it was, but they weren't we Aldy you. It's
some schools. People got different perks. He was to wait
for us. They wouldn't winning nothing. They Hey, we got
some many rights and some pros events.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
I mean they fed us, like after before I get
in trouble, they fed us like after every practice. We
had training table, we have breakfast and everything, you know,
like we just got off the plane, we're a little
probably hungover and get to the apartment and like we
know we're not ordering ordering, no stak dinner nothing.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
So no, it would have been lit and.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
We're joking for the second pile. I'm saying right now, yeah,
I need out back to open a right now. Actually
that's like, that's what I'm saying. Like they didn't like.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
They had everything opened up, like come eat for free,
like the National Tips.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
I would think, like whatever the restaurant.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
They didn't like have a celebration like when y'all landed,
like I got back. It wasn't like crazy, y'all just
went too much. So people just no, no, no.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
We definitely partied, like we definitely yeah, yeah, it was
like the plane landed, all the fans were there and everything,
like we'd already partied. I think it was in Indiana.
It was in Indianapolis, I think party and then uh,
you know, you don't know.

Speaker 5 (27:02):
We definitely had a time.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
It was like more of the when everything kind of
settled and we were just like in the apartment after
and we're like, oh, by the way, we gotta go
grocery shopping, like we have no money, no food.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
Point back to reality.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
Yeah, they don't like they like people around the city
and get you all free stuff.

Speaker 5 (27:20):
What city stores Connecticut, it's.

Speaker 8 (27:23):
Like doors there ain't nobody my mom person to with Jesse.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
You guys, you didn't make it back.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
You got Chick fil A, you got Yeah, they do.
I heard about it. McDonald crazy girls. That's taking care
of the city today.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
City a little bit different now.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
It's a little bit of people in that arena in gamble.

Speaker 5 (27:57):
Yeah, I think it's like twelve thousands.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
They go for me tap in, but now it's up, Yeah,
it's up. They probably getting good money now. But I
just I'm just amazed because I'm like, even like the
boys teams, they have really good teams.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
Yeah, Like I wanted to go to Yukon. It's being
born in the mecroop for all though you know.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
Then we was in high school, in middle school.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
Yeah, but I'm like, how did they get Rudy Gay
to go there?

Speaker 2 (28:21):
And Ray Adam went in the nineties.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
I got to go to the league. That's what we all.
I got up there.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
Shout out to you call man preceduons program for sure.
All right, now we talked about the league. You know,
I'm saying, find your footing. I want to talk about
you know what I'm saying, playing for the national team.
What's that feeling like holding it down for your for
your people going crazy, especially this last time.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
I know, did y'all met ale y'alling crazy? But what's
that moment?

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Like to Hooper gets some of the best town in
the world, and you know, it's a little bit of
a different game from the WR matching as well.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
Yeah, it's a very different game from the WH. Playing
for your national team is so different, Like it's it's
a really special feeling because you're just playing for so
much more than just like basketball. You know, you're playing
for your country, playing for your family, playing for your people,
and it's just like every.

Speaker 5 (29:01):
Game you feel like you're fighting for your life.

Speaker 4 (29:03):
Like every game feels so heavy and like so much
pressure on it, which makes it more exciting.

Speaker 5 (29:08):
But yeah, it's it's a different.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Feeling, especially when you're you know what I'm saying, the
host country is your home country.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
That's why hello pressure.

Speaker 5 (29:14):
Yeah, it was like.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
Assume as Tokyo was over there, like y'all start preparing
for Paris right now, Like it was a lot of
pressure on us for Paris for sure.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
Man, you got to fight some really good teams, you
know what I'm saying. Obviously you're playing in w's that
moment like were you're playing against USA.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
I love playing against I love playing against familiar faces,
and I love like showing like, hey we can hang,
you know, and like showing not just them, but showing ourselves.

Speaker 5 (29:40):
Yeah, like look at us, like we can hang with them.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
We just got to like believe, you know, we definitely
Unfortunately I don't want to bring this up as well.
When we got here, Yeah, yeah, what's that feel of light?

Speaker 5 (29:55):
It was like I.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
Wasn't that upset about that moment, to be honest, Like
everyone asks about that, you know, like the foot on
the line, But there's I wouldn't change that moment. I
would change like fifty other moments that happened before that,
because we definitely just like cracked and kind of buffled
under the pressure the last few minutes, you know, I
was like, why would we take this time out?

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Now?

Speaker 5 (30:14):
Why are we shooting contested threes over in Branta Steward?
Like where's our help sign in this play?

Speaker 4 (30:20):
Like those are the things I was thinking about in
the last three minutes, that if we could have changed that,
maybe we could have silver Metal in the home country.
Nothing to you know, still proud of that for sure.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
Most definitely, but it's just funny the detail movie. That's
filmwork right there and.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
Watched that.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
Yeah, how many sounds did you watch that game?

Speaker 5 (30:40):
I think we like once or twice.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
To be honest, I could have never watched it.

Speaker 4 (30:43):
Took a long time for me to watch, especially like
the third, third, fourth quarter.

Speaker 5 (30:48):
I'm like just cringing at a lot of it.

Speaker 4 (30:51):
But yeah, I don't know's I know it's a moment
that people talk about and everything.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
So most definitely, but I wouldn't say that that summer,
no saying propelled you just Gray season, you have it
so far, I think.

Speaker 4 (31:03):
So honestly just being able to like show myself that
I can be good in these high pressure situations, you know,
like I can, I can be the moment I can
arrive in it, and just like proving that to myself.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
I think I needed that most off. I want to
talk about your game a little bit. You know, I'm
saying I'm tapped in. You know what I'm saying, you
got the strong rights to left pull up?

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Where'd that come from? That?

Speaker 1 (31:21):
From Pops being in the jail because you hoop a
little bit differently everybody else. And obviously don't say the
defense there, but the officers guy, you got the hassmen
of that right to left you getting bucks off that?

Speaker 2 (31:28):
What's that like?

Speaker 5 (31:29):
Don't be telling them my scout now?

Speaker 4 (31:36):
Good one First, I think like, especially with my mid range,
it's come because I used to I used to be
just so much more athletic than everyone. So it used
to be like all the way to the rim. Every
time I get to the rim, gets the room finished,
and I'm not kind of like when I'm playing round.

Speaker 5 (31:50):
So I'm tired.

Speaker 4 (31:51):
But also the chicken, the kids are catching up to
me a little bit as far as like athleticism. Oh gee,
so I'm trying to like, yeah, the MIDI helped me
kind of still, you know, get to my move, but
I just I don't have to get all the way
to the rim.

Speaker 5 (32:08):
You know, to finish.

Speaker 3 (32:09):
We talked about it, you know, special S, g A
and other people. The midia is back.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
The media is back. Yeah, the media is back.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
All right, what's the what's the weakest part of your game?

Speaker 5 (32:19):
Now you're really on my scout?

Speaker 2 (32:20):
Yeah, I watched real film. I'm gonna say, if you
tell what I've been watching and we can talk about it, I.

Speaker 4 (32:28):
Think my biggest I'm streaky. So if I start good,
I know, I'm a shoot well that game. If I
start bad, it's going to be it might stay bad.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
You know, yeah, I saw that in a couple of games.

Speaker 5 (32:37):
Yeah, yeah, we're just doing the scout.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
Yeah what about going left? You comfortable going left?

Speaker 5 (32:43):
Why do you think it's the right to left?

Speaker 3 (32:44):
MIDI? Yeah to them?

Speaker 1 (32:52):
Respect?

Speaker 2 (32:52):
Respect? Now you cold?

Speaker 3 (32:54):
I love it right, not.

Speaker 5 (32:57):
A right to left, finish right to left the whole resort.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
They just can't stop it, can't nothing about it for sure.
Most definitely listen this season obviously going crazy?

Speaker 3 (33:10):
What's that like? You know what I'm saying, y'all got
a hell of a squad and there a lot.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
Of good guards best shout out the skylard, lot of
Oh yeah they got we what's that like? Obviously the
KARATEI is that when you'll play? But what's it like
in locker room? Especially having a good push as a
late as well?

Speaker 4 (33:24):
This has been like an amazing locker room and an
amazing environment. Like all year everyone's been like just about
the culture and investing in it obviously, like everyone knows
the energy that Easy brings and everything she.

Speaker 5 (33:36):
She iced to sow. She got us all these you know.

Speaker 3 (33:39):
Guys, we need money.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
We got we got to run.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
Everybody you get money?

Speaker 3 (33:51):
Yeah, watching up here for sure.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Her energy is always high.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
She was our first w guess. Yeah, sure, yeah, for sure.

Speaker 5 (34:01):
I always tell her she's always doing a side quest.
Are you going this time to be doing on this one?

Speaker 2 (34:07):
Doubt you stay on the party flower?

Speaker 5 (34:09):
Yeah, reporter.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
Man people, for sure. No, listen Gray season so far?
What's going on? What you got going this weekend? You're
going crazy? First All Star? Are you going to get
the f G as up? Should we look forward to see?

Speaker 5 (34:28):
I'm for sure testing out that logo, the four point shot. Okay,
I'm gonna test it out.

Speaker 4 (34:33):
But unt I'm just going with the floating with the vibes,
seeing if it's like if you're really hooping?

Speaker 5 (34:37):
Are we hooping? Or what are we doing?

Speaker 1 (34:39):
But I'm excited about it all right?

Speaker 2 (34:40):
If you're really hooping, you're gonna get out there and
really lock up. Though, you really gonna get out there
and were trying to get off.

Speaker 3 (34:45):
Defense in the All Star Game is crazy?

Speaker 5 (34:47):
No, I'm locking up.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
I'm showing up in those shoes and so everyone knows
that I'm locking up, nodding.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
They think you're about to create felling knees.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
You're gonna rob the locker, Roy everybody. But being most improved,
like obviously you want to. You know you're in contention
for Most Improved Defensive Player of the Year. Yeah, that
means you played both sides of the ball. You know
a lot of people, you know, they praise you for
your defense, but not a lot of people talk about
your offense. And you gotta let people know you a
bucket in this All Star Game. You gotta go for MVP.

Speaker 3 (35:19):
Okay, I mean, why not give it a go?

Speaker 1 (35:22):
Why not?

Speaker 3 (35:23):
Why not you out there?

Speaker 1 (35:25):
I would realize you again because like some people in
the NBA or whatever, they like to take that break
right because you said you play all year around, so
you know all stars that break.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
Would you rather have set out and like chilled and
like Washington?

Speaker 4 (35:39):
No way, No, I'm I'm super excited. I know people
like want rest, but this is my first one. And
yeah I'm tired. I'm definitely tired, but this is going
to be worth it.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
No, No, for sure, I'm glad being on the All
Star one time. So you can't talk, so get I
feel good.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
It took you seven years to make it to the No.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
It was a little quicker, I think. To be honest,
I think it was my seven year. Actually it was seven. Yeah,
I doing seven like that, you really know? It was
seven a special year.

Speaker 5 (36:17):
So the first full year.

Speaker 4 (36:18):
And I don't know since like twenty first time I've
been here, like since training camp since I think twenty twenty,
but that was COVID okay.

Speaker 5 (36:25):
So maybe since my rookie year. Is the first time
I've been here, like from day one. O.

Speaker 1 (36:28):
Yeah, I'm played all my years.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
Overseas is different.

Speaker 5 (36:35):
It's definitely different. It's not as fast, it's not as physical.

Speaker 4 (36:39):
It's a bit more like you have less players who
can kind of create their own shot.

Speaker 5 (36:44):
So it's a lot more methodical. Like it's a lot
more organized.

Speaker 4 (36:46):
I think, oh yeah, execution, Yeah, you got to execute overseas.

Speaker 2 (36:50):
Where you playing at.

Speaker 5 (36:52):
I'll be playing in fat Turkey.

Speaker 1 (36:55):
Yeah, I'm going to Turkey, are you? Yeah? I'm getting
a procedure.

Speaker 5 (37:01):
Is that why you got your hat on?

Speaker 3 (37:10):
I'm over my here, go get spoiled up a little
needles ain't going over there, and I go.

Speaker 5 (37:18):
Everybody with fresh teeth.

Speaker 3 (37:25):
Over there.

Speaker 5 (37:26):
I'm like, what do I need to get done?

Speaker 4 (37:28):
Sir, I'm starting to look at myself like, wait, maybe
I could know the turkey don't.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
Know sense you're doing.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
Stay locked in, Stay locked in, Stay.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
Locked in for sure? Man, one more top. I guess
we appreciate you pulling up. We can't wait to see
you in the All Star game. Listen, gonna shouting out
the Olympics, man, hold us down, Hold it down.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
I'm putting you on my draft things, so.

Speaker 1 (37:52):
I gotta follow out your every time. We need to
know somebody, why you want to lay down?

Speaker 3 (37:56):
Who got locked in?
