The Seven Seed Warriors are favored over the Rockets to
win the series. Per Draft King, The Warriors are minus
one ninety the Rockets are plus.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
WHATB fifty five? Are the Warriors a lot to beat
the Rockets. I'm not sure if they a lot.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
Now we're going off experience then obviously, you know they
got Heathston on that Heston got a youth on this
side and they got to use it, say advantage.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Man, they gotta make them guys work.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
But you know, when you got guys like Jimmy Butler,
Draymond Green, and obviously you know Steph Curry, it's gonna
be tough to beat them.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Man.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
They got them roll them role players around them playing
great basketball.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
So it's gonna be That's gonna be an interesting series.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
It's a lot of series I'm looking forward to, and
that Rockets and Golden Fader is gonna be one for
the ages. Yeah, having But the thing that concerned me
about the Rockets, who's you go to guy?

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Right?

Speaker 1 (04:08):
They haven't been they haven't been in this. The Warriors
have been in these situations. Steph knows what it's like
to play championship basketball, to get ready to win a title.
Draymond has been there, he knows what it's like. Jimmy
Butler hadn't won, but he's taken team to the NBA Finals.
He knows what it's like. And their role players. Now,
I don't know what's going on with Kaminga didn't really play.

(04:29):
Moody got their assignment. So it's gonna be very very
interesting because you played with a team that understands what
is what these moments are about and what they're like,
versus a team that's extremely athletic. I'm excuse me, Smith,
And you got Dylan Brooks, and you got Jalen Green,
you got Van Fleet, you got app Sengoon.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
He's real. Yeah, gray Ball is gonna have his hands
yet with it.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
Now, ain't them boys playing and the Rockets they play
at hard man, you know, and the Donka Idoka he
gonna have him ready now, the gonna be scared of nothing,
you know.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
I think the fact mm hm. I think the fact
that they are young Joe is why you can't. You
can't have him, have him as a law. They play,
They play on both ends of the court, and I
think the pressure for them, especially when you're that young,
you just out there playing basketball. You just out there
playing basketball, You just out there having fun and doing
what you need to do. And I think they have
the Worriors to win obviously, not not only because the Steph,

(05:24):
but because of the experience. They've already been there before.
But it's it's gonna be a good series, a very
very good.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
They got a hole.

Speaker 6 (05:31):
It's going to sell them too now.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
But Joe, they got us. They got a whole serve
at home. Yeah, talking about the Rockets.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
The Rockets got a whole they do, because that's gonna
be the confidence booster if you can win the first
two games at home and then have to travel to
you know, Golden State to uh, you know, to try
to get a win.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
But man, I just like that young Rockets team.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
They play hard, they're fearless, and you know, they know
what like to play the Warriors. And because they've played
them pretty well this year.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
Yep, hey, hey, Joe on if they if they come
out the gate in general and win the first two
games at home, boy, it can get spooky.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
It can get the one thing, the one thing about
the Warriors. The Warriors won't pay it though, because they've
been here. I remember a couple of years ago they
went down to Sacramento and they had to go to
Sacramento and win Game seven, and Steph Curry had one
of the great all time performances. He dropped fifty on
them in a game seven. So the Warriors did not
look you lose the first two games on the road.

(06:38):
All they did was whole servant home. The series doesn't
start until the road team wins the game. So all
Houston would have done is protect their home. They did
not let the Warriors come in and invade their territory,
so we kept them at bait. Now can we make
an advancement into their territory by stealing a game at home? Now,

(07:00):
Rockets are saying, all we gotta do is just hold
serve at home. If we went all point home, we advanced.
The Warriors are saying, we gotta get We gotta find
a way to get one. All we got to do
is get one at home, get one on that things
and we like that.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
I think that first game for the Warriors will be
probably one of the best games for them to get
because their young team in Houston, you know, having to
understand you're the two seed, you're the one being hunted
like you gotta understand and know how to protect that.
And you can't wait to see what the intensity is
going to be like before you have to rip it
up like go to State. They gonna already know so

(07:38):
they know, Yeah, the Rockets they cannot lose on their
home floor. They gotta protect. They got to protect the house.
And I think it's gonna be a hell of a series.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Yeah, Golden State said, we already played the playoff game
beat Memphis that even though it doesn't go towards anything,
but that was a playoff type atmosphere because hey, the
one thing we didn't want to do was falling. Now
we're out, so they let's just go ahead and make
it life of ourselfs. And plus, I think they like
their chances better against the Rockets than they.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
Do absolutely absolutely, hey, listen, listen. I think they definitely
take the Rockets because you know, they know and understanding
the moment, and they know that the Rockets will be
a little inexperience even though they're gonna play hard and uh,
they definitely gonna make competitive. But you know, the Rockets
definitely got the I mean, the Warriors definitely got the

(08:28):
team who I think they were seeking out to get
in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Math beat the MAVs beat the Kings one one oh six. A.
D and Clay combined for fifty points as the Maths
blow out the Kings the game really wasn't that close
at any point time and me fourteen points at one
point in time, they headed up as many as twenty
four points. Joe, I'm gonna ask you this, did tonight

(08:51):
win redeemed Nicole Harrison? Does he make Does the Mavericks
fans say, you know what, hey, d ain't that bad Autter?
Oh he gave us what he gives twenty seven nine
three blocks of the sister steal plus ten and the
plus minus twenty seven nine and three.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
We can live with that.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
It's all well in Dallas after they advanced to face
the Memphis Grizzly for a chance to be the eight
seed and face the OKC third.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Now, I don't think it's all well in Dallas.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
It was a good It was a good performance by
a d But I kind of feel like the message
they gonna get cheated this year.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Man, they don't have Kyrie.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
You know, it was our the ACL injury, and you know,
at some point even maybe the next game, they need
guys like him who can take over Krey, have it
on offense and put guys in the right position.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
So I think it's gonna be tough.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Man.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
They still got they work cut out they gotta play
against Memphis in Memphis, right, Heyfi can't lose that game.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Man, that's gonna be a good one. But let me
ask you this, are you concerned about the health of jaw?
Now we saw him hurt that ankle. He saved out
for a significant out of time. He tried to come
back in. But you know you've had that, probably had
that injury where you go to shoot a shot, you
land on someone's a foot ankle, you roll your ankle.

(10:10):
How sore is he going to be? Is there enough
time between they played last night? You had Thursday off,
and you play tomorrow, and you play, you have tomorrow
off and then you'll play.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
He young, He gonna heal up quick. You know that
was me Me and you have the spray eggs. Gonna
take us about three weeks to a month to get back. Yeah,
he's gonna bounce right back. He's gonna be ready to go.
He understands the moment act think and knowing that it's
in mentions, I'm sure he's not gonnanna let them fans down.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
So I expect Yoah to put on the show man
o Cho this game, Dallas Mavericks. They win one twenty
to one oh six. Anthony Davis. I mean they got
contributions everywhere. Ad had twenty seven.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
PJ. Washington had seventeen, Clay had twenty three.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
This white guy off the bench, Dante Exum had eleven.
Brandon Williams seventeen and eighteen minutes five or six from
the four, three or four from the three point line,
four and fourth from the free throw line. The bitch
was very, very good for the Dallas Mavericks to overcome.
Demardin rozen had thirty three. Zach Levine had a quiet twenty.

(11:15):
They didn't get the count of production they normally get
from the bonus. He only had eleven, thirteen and five,
but he normally somewhere around seventeen eighteen. Give you that,
and they needed that tonight. But Dallas go on the
road to Sacramento and win this game. Oh yo, what
did you like about what you saw from Dallas? I mean,
this is exactly what you're expecting them to do. This
is exactly what you expect them to do.

Speaker 5 (11:33):
Obviously, the fans have been mad about the trade and
A eighty coming and Luca leaving, Luca coming in trying
to remind you why I should have stayed. But all
this is for the Dallas fans and the organization for
the for the Mavericks as well as you put a
band aid on a band aid on the gas, that's
all it is. This is what you is supposed to
do to Sacramento. So what you're gonna see is later

(11:54):
on down the line, when it comes time for a
seven game series, things are gonna be a little different.
You don't hate, you don't have Kyrie. He's hurt most
of the book. Everything's going to be on eighty to
have to what's the word I'm looking for, be a
score a thirty or thirty two or thirty five to
be able to leave that team to another series, which
Luke was able to do.

Speaker 6 (12:14):
With Kyrie, I don't think he's going to be able
to do it.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Yeah, you definitely need and Joe, you can speak to this.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
In the playoffs, you need a guy that you can
put the ball in his hands and he can go
get you us. And it's nice to have that as
a guard because you don't have to get him the ball.
He can come get the ball, bring it up and
Kyrie can description it. Kyrie can get his shot from anywhere.
He can finish in the paint. Given that he's not
an above the rim player, but his layup package and

(12:42):
his ability to handle and create a shot for himself
or someone else is second to none. Yeah, So to that,
what's going on the road now? You look at Memphis.
They got Triple J who did not have a great performance.
The other night, Job was good, Desmond Bane played unbelievable,
Bippy Junior played really well. What does Dallas have to

(13:05):
do to go in and to create a similar performance
to what they had tonight?

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Aight, he's gonna have to be dominating. He's gonna have
to be dominant.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Man.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
He's gonna have to put up big numbers in order
for them to win. I know they pretty much played
by committee by committee. You know, Clay got off to
a pretty good start tonight. You know he's trying to
borrow really well. But they definitely they got guys who
can put up numbers. Now, they got guys come off
the bench. You can definitely chip in and help. But
I think with their sigh they gonna give, they gonna
give missing some problems.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Well though, you know they That's that's why Ad is able.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
To kind of wrong because he got Lively in Gafford
down there to kind of close up the pain, you
know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Yeah, and he gets to play. When Lively's on the four,
he always gets to play. For the most part, he
gets to play the four, which he loves to play.
Because when you have Lively, you bring in a Daniel Gaffert.
You're right, they're a big team. You look at PJ.
Washington goes about six to eight, Lively goes about six
eleven or seven foot Ad goes six ten, Daniel Gafford
sixty nine sixteen. This is a very very big ball club.

(14:05):
And so the front line and they challenge a lot
of shots. They had eight blocks tonight. Ad had three.
Gafford that too, And so you know nothing, Hey, it's
simple philosophy to playoff. Nothing cheap, nothing easy.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
You come in to pay. I gotta put it down.
I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
But with Memphis, Memphis got JJ and big eating eating
down there. You know they're gonna comes from Havoc as well.
But I do expect John to really put on a
pretty good performance because they gonna need him. They gonna
need his leadership, you know, definitely on the court for
them to uh be at reci continued, and whoever wins
the game, they got.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Whole kN not your prize. Huh you get out, okay,
break around, You're gonna be in for a fight by hey. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
Are you surprised that Spencer din with It, who's been
a major contributor, he only got two minutes of mop
up duty tonight. I was surprised they went with x
them as opposed to Spencer did with it. What is
it that you think Jay Kidds saw that. He says,
you know what, the minutes that we normally give Den
with It, We're gonna give those minutes to ex them
because he played nineteen minutes and he was He had

(15:12):
eleven points, four for one of three, one of one
from the two three point line, and two but both
of his free throws, had three rebounds had what who
six ussis.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Spring good energy? He bring good energy to the table.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
I think Den with It is more of an offensive
threat and ex Yes, Xem's gonna come in and he's
gonna be more of an X factor. He's gonna play
hard defensively, He's gonna knock down the shots to the open,
especially in that corner. So I think he probably just
leaned a little more on XM, probably because he had
a little bit more confidence in the night.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
And plus he's looking to get everybody involved as opposed
to Spencer dead with the looking again.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Trying to get it himself, trying to get it to
his bag. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
Yeah, he said, I'm playing for a contract, bro to
keep it, to keep it, the keep of the buck
with I tried to get his contract.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
You're right, I think the thing is with Edie. Look,
he reminds me that.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
I think the thing is when you look at Memphis
when they were at their best, they had what's the guy?
Uh uh, what's to get the big guy that had?
He just traded into Houston Adams. Step Yeah, big Stephen Adams.
Joab was tremendous in the pick and roll he gave
the Adams, gave them extra opportunities.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Zach Edie can do that. But but but Zach is
gonna have to be more.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
He's gonna have to be a little bit more active
because I think he's a better offensive weapon.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
He was Player of the Year.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
No matter what you think of him his game college
games compared to the NBA, he was a Player of
the Year. He wasn't All American and so he has
the offensive skills. Now it's not gonna do you know,
him shooting threes, But around the rim, I'm not so sure.
They run a whole lot of plays for him. He's
not a guy that you run a you want, Hey,
you want fourteen points?

Speaker 2 (16:59):
Get it off.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
Oh you gonna have to get it off the rim
because the thing will have him on the floor, or
they're gonna keep him in picking rolls, you know what
I mean, because he's probably gonna play pay play back
a lot of the times. He's not gonna be up
to the pick and for for uh, for the guards,
you know, that's definitely essential for them trying to get
to the basket and just create opportunities for everybody on
the squad.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
That's where Kyrie would be extra beneficial because you played,
you put it in the pick and roll, and you
know he doesn't want to hedge, and he doesn't have
the ladder. He doesn't have the lateral equipment or the
excuse me quickness or to be able to drop back.
So Kyrie like, oh yeah, if shot would say barb jumpers.

Speaker 4 (17:42):
Floaters, passes, like it'll be it'll be pretty scaited to see.
But like I said, they got other guys in the
team who are able, who are capable of having big nights,
so even winning you a game in the playoffs, and
that's what you need.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Yeah, Nick Marshall did a lot of having the ball tonight.
They let play bring it up early, but Nick Marshall
was really in charge. I thought Exem coming in gave
him a boost advantager. As you mentioned, Brandon Williams was sensational.
He was absolutely sensational. Seventeen points in eighteen minutes. He
got it and got it going early, and a lead
that was like eight nine all of a sudden became

(18:18):
eighteen nineteen twenty.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Yeah, what's his name? No, Niji.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
Oh, Naji Marshall. My bad, Nagie Marshall. I thought you
was talking about Brandon Wieis. I'm like, I'm seeing Williams,
Naji Marshall. He did a lot of ball and handling,
but he's not He's not a natural point guard. He's
not a natural facilitator. And I think that gets a
lot of teams because oh he can handle the ball.
Just because you can handle the ball doesn't mean you
can run the offense. And I think we saw that

(18:48):
with the Phoenix Sons because Booker. Yeah, book can handle
the ball, but Book is a dude. You look at
you go back and look at the Sons and study them.
They worked best win when they had CP three. You
get everybody. Hey, Katie, you can get that shot right there,
a book, you can get this right here. Stop pretending
just because somebody can handle the ball they can run

(19:09):
an offense. Those are handling the ball running an offense.
It's just like a quarterback. Oh, Joe, you know he
he could throw the ball running offense. Nah, going, don't
Joe what you want to say now?

Speaker 7 (19:21):
I just I just came back from using wash your heads. Yeah,
I'm bad, Oh Joe.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
There's been one constant doing the entire Luca Dodge trade
fiasco is that Nico Harrison and the mask container make
some worse PERR decision imaginable.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Nico said he has no regret in the Luca trade.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
When you look at this trade, we targeted Ad with
our philosophy of defense wins championships.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
We wanted a two way player that could lead our team,
and that was Anthony Davis.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Everyone's gonna have the criticism, and I'm not sure what
Mark Cuban said, but that's a better question left for him.
But we got what we wanted. My obligation is to
the Dallas Maverick. It's what's best interest of the Dallas
Mavericks and that's what's the most important thing. Some of
these decisions are going to be unpopular, maybe the Derrick It,
maybe just some fans, But my obligation is.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
To the Dallas Mavericks.

Speaker 6 (20:23):
Is he trolling at this.

Speaker 5 (20:24):
Point knowing that he should stop talking about it. He's
making he's making it worse. I'm not sure what his
angle is. I'm not sure what it is for the
betterment of the future from the Dallas Mavericks. You want
to make the right decisions long term. Letting Luka don
should go to the Lakers is not making the right
decisions by the fans or the Dallas Mavericks on this organization.

(20:46):
I'm not saying that's nothing wrong with ad but I mean, look,
we talking about longevity and wanting to keep your job
based on the decisions that you make for the betterment
of the team.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
It would have been keeping Luca there, but that's not
his At the end of the day, that's not his call.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
That's ownership's call, and the Dumont family said, Okay, Mark
Cuban just tweeted.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
What did he tweet?

Speaker 1 (21:17):
You called him stupid or something? I guarantee you. He said,
Dirk is the Dallas is the Dallas Mavericks. They're notine forever.
No one should ever forget that. That statue will will
be here forever. LOUDI never phades. Tomorrow night, fifteen guys
will put on a Mavericks uniform and they'll do everything
they can to win for themselves, each other, and the fans.

(21:37):
Our squad busted that, you know what, fight through incredible adversity.
They have my respect and support, should have everyone's. I'm
a Maths fan. I'll always love and cheer for everyone
who puts on our uniform Tomorrow night and however many
games we have left in this season and ever in
the future. Whether I'm in the stands or in front

(21:59):
of the team or following every play online, my heart
and soul is committed to rooting for our.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
Maths to win. That will never change.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
I know fans are upset, but don't be upset that
the players support them, root for them, rally behind them.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
I don't know what, m M, what is that?

Speaker 1 (22:20):
Okay? Well, what Ad said MAVs fans for life hashtag
MAVs fan or life man.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
That was that was so pc.

Speaker 6 (22:34):
I thought he I thought he gave something, you know,
truth on based on the decisions that was made.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
Look, he called, he called he's upset because Nico called
that Dirk. Maybe maybe he's Dirk is upset. Okay, maybe
the fans are upset and he's looking at that. Like, bro,
if you're a part of the you know, Dirk A
just is kind of like, oh, Joe, It's kind of
like if you were to call out somebody from Cincinnati,
or when I call like somebody from the Broncos or

(23:01):
the Ravens.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
It's a little different.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
We played there. People still remember you know, your number
eighty five is up. My number eighty four is up.
People remember what I did in Baltimore. So it's a
little different when it comes from you as somebody else
criticizing a guy that played here.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
Okay, like you said, Dirk is a ledge back.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
Twenty twenty play twenty seasons, twenty season or twenty one
twenty season, same uniform, never left, have an opportunity to
leg get get bigger pay days and said, nah.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
This is my home. Yeah, and so.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
Nico my recommendation twenty one. Yes, oh Joe, just let
it go. Fans are gonna be upset. Fans are gonna
be upset, and especially because it's still so fresh. Time
Let time, Let time pass, and you know you'll be okay.

(23:58):
But don't don't mention it anymore.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
You're not. You can't. You're not going to make these people,
these fans forget.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
And no matter how much you say you wanted Anthony Davis,
you targeted Anthony Davis.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
And we want to be a two way team because
defense win championships.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Fans they really trying to hear him, trying to hear
that man, you gave a guy away when you traded
a guy that was there.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
He came here at eighteen. Dallas was all he knew.
Those fans.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
Luca is all they knew. And now they don't have
him anymore. And we know what he does on the court.
I don't care nothing about all that other stuff. And
you say at some point the fans will forget, They
will never forget. Because there's the type of player that
the Lakers got. They understand Luca will always remind them. Dallas,

(24:49):
Nico Collins and the owners on what they did based
on his plate in LA and they're gonna always resent
that because he's going to be the superstar that they had.

Speaker 6 (24:59):
He gonna owe your mind him. This is what you
let go every single year.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
In every game that he had, like he had that
game when he went back, he dropped forty five and
a full like that that should have been that she
should have been dropping that forty five on the Lakers
for us. You saw the other night he had thirty
nine against the Houston I think the Rockets, and he
didn't play the fourth quarter. So when you see him
go off for those type performances, you're like, what are
we doing? And ad, look, hey is a phenomenal player.

(25:28):
Is an All seventy five player. He's been an All
NBA selection, He's been an All Star, he's been an
All Star Game MVR, He's won a title. He's not
feeder Cheenie. But you know, Luca not Phoenix Sun fired,
Buoden holds him. Yeah. The Sun became the third team

(25:50):
in the NBA history to start the season eight one
or better and missed the playoff. They joined the nineteen
seventy Detroit Pistons and the two thousand and one to
Milwaukee Bucks. KD is looking to leave the sons, oh
Joe who should be held accountable for the son's failure.
But you look at before KD got there, where the

(26:12):
sons playing? Well?

Speaker 6 (26:12):
Were they failing before kat got there?

Speaker 1 (26:15):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (26:16):
Priorly got there? What day they was in the NBA
A in the NBA finals, NBA Finals win they lost
to In twenty one, they lost to the Bucks.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
And in the NBA Finals and then they lost in
what they beat the Clippers one year without the year
they went to the finals. The next year they beat
the Lakers, and then then they lose two other sons,
I mean the Nuggets, they lost to Luca, the Dallas.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
There was the number one seed that ended up losing
the Luca.

Speaker 5 (27:00):
You know, when it comes down to it, I'm assuming
you can some of the blame does go go on
the players. Some of the blame can't go on Kevin Durant.
I'm not sure how much of it you can put
on one individual player when collectively, obviously there is a
group of.

Speaker 6 (27:13):
Five that have to play and have to jail together.

Speaker 5 (27:15):
You think, obviously when you have these super teams for
Braddy Bill and Devin Booker and Kevin Durant coming together.
You expect the results obviously show in the court. Obviously
the match ration, it didn't work. The relationship between him
and Bulden. How do you say the coach's name?

Speaker 2 (27:30):
Who knows her?

Speaker 6 (27:30):
Who knows her?

Speaker 5 (27:31):
Obviously things didn't work, especially the way it started out.
It started out really good and obviously eight and one,
but you know, not making the playoffs or play in
for that matter.

Speaker 6 (27:41):
I mean, it's it's it's horrible. Everybody has to be
held accountable.

Speaker 5 (27:45):
Obviously most of the most of the criticism and the critiquing,
and we'll go to the superstar players, especially one of
the greatest scores of all time.

Speaker 6 (27:52):
So I guess he can.

Speaker 5 (27:53):
He can he he can take that criticism. Obviously, them
not making the playoffs, He's easy. He would be a
part of the problem if he wasn't part of the
goddamn solution for that matter.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
I mean, this is the fourth coach in four years.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
They fired Mighty Williams, they fired uh, the Lakers coach
Bogo who's in vogel Ugo. They fired, but they could
fire Bud. They're about to be on their fourth coaches now.
Bud got three more years at ten million. Vogel had

(28:27):
had several years at like eight million. And I know,
my uh have a have tons of money, but you
gotta you gotta stay the course a little longer than
a year.

Speaker 5 (28:42):
And that's the problem when it comes to you, when
it comes to owners obviously in life.

Speaker 6 (28:49):
In life, the way they fix things most of the
time when you.

Speaker 5 (28:53):
See a pattern like this where you keep firing coach
after coach after coach after coach is sometimes you just
throw money at it.

Speaker 6 (29:00):
You think it fixed the problem. That's how it works
in the business world.

Speaker 5 (29:04):
When it comes to the sports world, you throw your
money at it, and then you allow it time to manifest,
let it marin it for a little bit, until look
in jail, until it all works out.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
I believe all. I think the only player that's going
to be there is Devin Booker. He's the player that
started there. I think KD is going to be gone,
Bradley Bill is gonna be gone bigger and now Brandley
Bill is a little bit more tougher than KD. For
the simple fact Bradley Bill has no trade clause, so
he has he has to sign off on where you're

(29:36):
going to send it KD. You know there's gonna be
a lot of teams, but you got to replace what
you gave up. You gave up a bunch of first
round and players. You're saying replace, you won't. You will
never get the value of what you got for KD.
But you can't get something. Yeah, well you gotta get
you when you got to refill the conference up. You
got to get draft capital back. Uh. It's tough, man,

(30:03):
It's tough because KD play fault that he came half
the year with money.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
They fired Money after the.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
Season, hired Vogel, fired Bogel hired a Buton Holzer fired him.
Now they're about to be on their fourth coach. But
KD won't be there up under him. I think Book stays.
I think Book is the only piece that stayed. They're
gonna try to move, but that's what happens. People just
think it's more to building a team, just putting three
guys that can put the ball in the back.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
And that's what everybody think.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
Just oh, oh, KD, oh, book man, KD gonna gi
twenty seven, Book gonna g twenty seven, Brandley Bill gonna
go twenty seven.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
Okay, that's finely, willing good until they don't do that
because they don't fit. The pieces don't fit.

Speaker 5 (30:48):
Oh Joe, Hey, you know when you think about it,
obviously you say those names. You say those names and
understanding what they can do, you know, being able to
score at all three levels. Put the ball on the floor,
catch a shoot, pop and shoot whatever it may be.

Speaker 6 (31:00):
Beat. I'm thinking, what hell, man, they shouldn't be. Boy,
they're gonna be. They're gonna be animal.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
If you put Chase, Jefferson and Tyreek all of the
same team, you got one ball, Hey, one ball.

Speaker 5 (31:17):
Hey, listen, just the thought of that. Hey yeah, just
the thought of that. You take up the band and
see you look at the Patriots, the pieces always fit.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
One guy, got got a lot of mostly the catchers,
and then everybody fit in after that.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
Look you get KD.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
Who's KD Eiven MVP Finals, MVP four time scoring chair. Okay,
he really doesn't need the ball, Bradley being the booker,
they need the ball. But what they needed, see they
put they shifted a book to the point he can
play it. But books and two he don't need to
be initiated. No offense. If you look at Bookie at

(31:56):
the best years he has CP three. CP three was
a facilitator. CP three knew how to get everybody where
they wanted the ball where they needed the ball to
be the most important.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
Right.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
But when you have all this, you got one hundred
and fifty million dollars in payroll with three guys on Joe,
something gotta go, you got you gotta hey. You got
this big fancy house. You buy a big fancy house
and you on a budget. Well guess what be like
O'Shannon Sharp ain't had nothing but a TV. And then
the man in the bedroom come to the house ages

(32:31):
You'll be sitting on the floor like Indian style.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
That's all I got for you. That's what I had.
That's that's all I had. I over extended myself.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
I got a house that was outside of my budget,
so it wasn't no sense in me going more over
budget and putting furniture, a whole bunch of furniture in there.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
I got a bed and I got a TV. That's it.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
So let me tell you how long ago there, ben Oyoe.
I know you didn't know this, but miss Bishi used
to make TV. I remember that I had a mister bish.

Speaker 5 (33:00):
Yeah, show did yeah then missus yep, I ain't heard
that no time either.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
It was a it was a toube. It was a
tool TV. You know, I ain't. I ain't had no
money putting, you know back then.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Yeah, but the TV that went on the wall with ten, fifteen,
twenty thousand dollars. I said, oh, put this thing up
on them. Put this thing up on a chair. I
can see cause you know we're going to We put
it on a chair. Phone boy had little TV or
you had the big mall alone that was the color. Yeah,
we put we put our TVs.

Speaker 6 (33:33):
Obviously at grandma place, we had the crates, remember the
crates and crates that yeah. Yeah, milk yeah, milk creaks
put we put out. We put out right on the crate.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
Oh you have a floor model TV. Oh yeah, floor
model that was big. Might showed the picture. Yeah, but
they have no sound, right, the little one had the sound.
See how we do that old joke, See how we
did that? Right there? Get us on one more floor
model TV, y'all remember Sony Savania Zena.

Speaker 6 (34:01):
Hey, my grandma had the big Zenith in our room.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
R c A remember with the r c A with
the megaphone with the dog.

Speaker 5 (34:06):
Yeah, hey, that's the bad hold on. I bet you
remember the satellites though, the big satellites. Oh yeah, yard, yes, yes,
my granddaddy had one of the big old satellite.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
Yes, yes, I remember that.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
But it's because every I mean, if you go back
and look at the beginning of the year, the Sons
were twenty to one odds to win the NBA title.
They had better hard than everybody, damn everybody except probably Boston.

Speaker 4 (34:32):
Yeah, that's crazy, man, Mmmm hmm, it's it's it's just
it's it's a it's a bad it's a it's I
don't know.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
But where where does where does KD go? Miami?

Speaker 5 (34:49):
You know, I'm always you know, I'm always saying Miami.
And now obviously they're gonna have to give him. What
what do y'all gonna give up to get it? I
don't know, that's not that's that's the pat rally, Mickey Rrison.
I'm not sure what that looks like. But as long
as we keep man, we gonna be alright, I think,
and finding some other pieces that we can get from
somewhere else.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
We got to have some.

Speaker 6 (35:07):
But I'm just I think it would be great. It
would be a great place. I think KD might have
a house down here. I'm not sure. I've seen him
down here numerous times.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
Man, you got that kind of money, you got a
house living with Yeah, but listen, shit, KD crazy do
it quite well for Yeah, Yeah, I.

Speaker 6 (35:24):
Just I just listened. We need to start. We need
to do what the Lakers do.

Speaker 5 (35:28):
Always find a way to pull one out our I
would get ready to curse. I'm not gonna curse. Pull
one out our hat. We need to do that, pat
Riley is to do that just to get just have
you seen the tennis at the games? It's not what
it's not what it should be a special.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
First of all, they don't come to they don't come
till late. Anyway, y'all don't be there to talk. I look,
I done been to Miami Games. I went for the
championship game, and at the start of the game, I'm like,
what damn, do y'all really know? This is the NBA Finals?

Speaker 6 (35:54):
Yeah, you're right, you're right, you're right.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
And remember they were leaving in that game six before
Ray hit the show.

Speaker 6 (36:02):
Yeah, and they tried to come running back in, try
to come back in.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
Now, No that ain't gonna happen. I'm trying to say. I.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
First of all, they're only a handful of teams that
have the draft capital that they're gonna need to get
KDE And the question is are they willing to break
it up? Okay? See has the capital? Okay, see thunder
they got like thirteen first round here?

Speaker 6 (36:23):
Can you imagine? Can you imagine HGA and Kevin Durant.

Speaker 1 (36:28):
Yeah, we said the same thing about Devin Book and
Kevin Durant there. Yeah we said that. We said the
same thing about James Harden and Joel and b. Can
you imagine now James Harden has found the fountain of youth?
He played he looked like the James Harden the boat.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
Yes, that he does. Kawhi got those needs healthy, he
looks phenomenal.

Speaker 6 (36:54):
I just.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
I don't think k goes to strike me as a
guy that that that lived with regret or looks back on.
But probably maybe a better moved would probably been going
to the Knicks.

Speaker 6 (37:07):
Hey, like you should have done the first time instead
of instead of going to Brooklyn.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Maybe going to the Knicks
from the jump. Oh, I don't know. It's too late,
too late. Now they might, right, they might be an option.
I don't I don't know.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
I'm just saying instead of going to Brooklyn, maybe go
to go to the Knicks. Maybe things would have been different. Different.
We'll never know.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
We'll never know. We just know this has gone horribly wrong.
This is there's no way around it.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Look, we don't have to blame anybody, but we can
say this, but equivocally, this was terrible.

Speaker 2 (37:42):
Yeah, it was.

Speaker 1 (37:44):
It was.

Speaker 2 (37:53):
The Warriors beat the Grislies one.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
One, one sixteen, Jimmy Butler thirty eight points, Steph Curry
thirty seven points, and they held off a very valiant
and game Memphis Grizzly team. By the score, this game
was really really close. So now the Warriors advance, they're
the seventh seed and they take on the Rockets. That
game probably will start Sunday. You watching this game, what

(38:17):
did you like about what you saw from the Warriors?

Speaker 4 (38:20):
Damn that, man, I heard that Raiders shot. I'm the
president of the Raider Nation. Always remember that. Okay, all right, now,
now getting to this gang. We knew what was gonna happen.
It was close, but we know, you know, Steph is
you know, the man and proved me once again, hitting

(38:42):
big shots, big moments, Warriors advance.

Speaker 2 (38:49):
You know, we knew what was gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
I thought the game would have been a lot you
know what, it had been interesting to see q Ocho
had John not tweaked that ag Yeah, you know, he
goes up for the shot, he comes down on the
guy's ankle and he can't.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
He came back in the.

Speaker 1 (39:04):
Game late, but he wasn't John Desmond bang was unbelieved.
He kept him close, big threes, stealing the ball, doing
a lot of good things. Triple j played in outstanding
the game. But I just thought that if John had
stayed in, it would have been interesting to see.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
We never know, who knows.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
Maybe Steph goes crazy and he goes instead of thirty
seven thirty eight, he goes for fitty, right. But it
was a good game. It's what we expected to be.
This is the first time the Warriors have actually got
out of the play again. There had been over there
out there one to four in the play in tournament.
Oh Joe, what what'd you like about what you saw?

Speaker 6 (39:37):
Listen night, I enjoyed the game.

Speaker 5 (39:38):
To us fullers, I probably thought that the Warriors were
gonna come out and be victorious in the win. Obviously,
playoff playoff Jimmy as we as he's known to be called,
showed up at playing Jimmy. Play it okay, right, play
play in Jimmy. Listen, he had twenty one and a half.

Speaker 2 (39:53):
He can't.

Speaker 5 (39:53):
He came up and he showed out. Steph Curry did
what he did end in the game with thirty seven.
But I think the game might have been different, even
though it was close, if we got a job that
wasn't injured and didn't mess up his angle towards the
end of the game. The deathen Band did what he
did to keep him close, but obviously Steph Curry coming
in clutch towards the end of the game.

Speaker 2 (40:11):
And it is what it is. Yeah, I mean, look,
this is the Warriors time of year. We know what
they're capable of doing.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
It's amazing to me that they haven't gotten out of
the player in Q considering all that championship game predigree,
all the time they've been in NBA Finals, they've been
in Western Conference finals, they've had tough of fall ball games,
but for whatever reason, it's hard for them to get
out of the playing. If I'm not mistaken, I think
they lost to the Lakers, a couple of lost to
the Lakers, lost to the GRIZ. But they haven't been

(40:39):
what we thought they would be, especially in the playing.
So now they get an opportunity to advance that the
number seven seed to take on the Houston Rockets, the
second best record in the Western Conference. But this is
a young team that's not really battle test. Q. How
do you see this matchup shaping out between the Rockets
and the Warriors.

Speaker 4 (40:59):
Well, you know, the Warriors got that pedigree. They know
what it takes. You know, Rockets are are scrappy. You know,
they defense, they all over the court, you know what
I mean. They won and they gun and yunk and
they shooting. They they kind of doing it all. But

(41:20):
you know they're all different animal. You know, you're playing
the same team over and over again. Uh, they get
a chance to lock in on you, you get a
chance to lock in on them. And you know in basketball,
byt a third game, you know all the moves they got,
They know all the.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
Moves you got, and the will to win.

Speaker 4 (41:44):
And so the Warriors are battle test today. They got
that will to win. Even though I like the the
Rockets young scrap the team. I just think the Warriors
got everything it takes with Draymond and Jimmy as hungry
as ever.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
So I expect the Warriors to come out of that.

Speaker 1 (42:04):
Well, you mentioned you're the you're the god When did
you say to godfather Nations relations?

Speaker 2 (42:12):
So what are you with the Lakers? Are you the
godfather the Lakers? What are you for the Lakers? Oh?

Speaker 1 (42:17):
Man? You know the Lakers. I mean, I hadn't put
put a name on it. You know, it's something greater
than love with make you the mayor of Lakerville.

Speaker 4 (42:30):
But you know, I've been a big fan man since
uh I was knee high to a horse fly, And
so it's it's just really all about seeing them jail.

Speaker 2 (42:39):
You know, do they have enough time to jail, uh
to to go all the way? We'll see you know.

Speaker 4 (42:46):
They got a nice a nice squad, you know, I
like all I like the size of all the role players.
You know, they all damn there the same size, with
the same athletic ability, and so it's it's pretty cool
to see them, you know, teamed up with UH with Lebron,
uh Luca and.

Speaker 2 (43:09):
Ar fifteen.

Speaker 1 (43:11):
Let me ask you this, where were you when you
heard the news the Lakers were trading Anthony Davis for
Luka Doncic And did you believe it when you heard it? Uh?

Speaker 2 (43:23):
I didn't believe it. You know, I was. I was
at the house and.

Speaker 4 (43:29):
And you know it was you know, I know my
son he had a you know, a podcast he had
to do, and uh, he was just like freaking out
on the podcast read the news at the same time,
and so you know, it's hard to believe that was true.
But the Lakers always pull the rabbits out they had.

(43:50):
You know, I'm like, I felt the same way when
they got shot. You know, I felt the same way
when they got.

Speaker 2 (44:00):
Lebron on. You know, it was like, man, how do
the Lakers pull this off? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (44:05):
Great front office? You know, I never count them out
no matter what. You know what, how you know how
the team look from year to year. You know, I
never count that front office at out. Even bringing a
d in was was amazing to me. Gave up a
lot to get it, but it worked out. You got
a championship out of the deal. Yeah, without a doubt.

Speaker 1 (44:27):
Qub You're the co founder of the Big Three. Last
year was your most viewed season. How do you take
it to the next level? And it's being reported at
Dwight Howard said, my last year playing professional basketball, I'll
go play to the big dream.

Speaker 2 (44:41):
There we go. You know, stop star power. You know,
the same thing you know that you guys got here
star power. So that's what we're bringing into the league.
That's what people want to see. But also the style
of play.

Speaker 1 (44:53):
You know, I think people love the Big Three because
you know there's still a place for the big man.

Speaker 4 (44:59):
You know, we defense, you know, we let them trash talk.
We let players be themselves, you know, you know, not
penalized personality, you know what. And uh so I think people,
you know love that. Fans want that. Uh that's what's
missing in some ways in in the other professional league.

(45:20):
And so bab come and uh do his you know
last you know, go around the country in the Big Three.

Speaker 1 (45:29):
It's gonna be a fun summer. But you know, we
also got other players that's great too.

Speaker 4 (45:34):
So you know, now when cities now, you know, we
got a team in l a uh team in Dallas,
a team in Houston, Chicago, uh uh, Detroit, Boston.

Speaker 2 (45:47):
And the d m V in Miami.

Speaker 4 (45:51):
So it's gonna be interesting to unlock those fan bases
and and and start to grow the Big Three.

Speaker 2 (46:00):
From that model.

Speaker 1 (46:04):
What made you decide to come up with the Big Three?
You're sitting around to me, Look, you're busy. You know,
you're in Hollywood. You're back to doing music, and I see,
I think now you back more in the music now
than you've ever been. Maybe you're taking a break from
the acting, thig from writing. I know you got to
gonna give this a little later. But the Friday, the
last last install of the Priday. Yeah, probably sitting down

(46:25):
writing that you DJ DJ pool. But in this situation,
what made you decide to come up with the Big Three?
I'm a fan and in after the finals NBA Finals, man,
I would hiburgnate until football see started, you know, I
mean seriously, for for people who love basketball and love football,

(46:50):
those dog days of summer just got you know, it
was just brutal, and so I knew it was a
lot of fans out there like me who wanted something
a real season. Could we fit a season into that
window between the NBA Finals and the start of the
regular season in football? And so you know, there was

(47:13):
a great window and three on three was sitting there.

Speaker 2 (47:17):
Kind of dormant. You know, it's kind of the little
cousin of five on five.

Speaker 4 (47:22):
And yeah, I said, you know, why havn't it been
the professionalize And there was no good reasons. I looked
at what Fever was doing and I said, hey, we
could do better than that to professionalize the sport. And
we came up with a great wrinkles like the four
point circles and h bringing fire and you know, first

(47:43):
to fifty win, no game clock but the shot clock.
So the games are fast, they fun, and it's what
basketball should be. And and so you know, we put
all the great ingredients into it, and it was a
great idea and we had the connections and the people

(48:06):
to make it come true. And Hall of Famers had
blessed us, George Gervin, doctor J. Clyde, Drexler, Rick Barry,
you know, these guys blessed the league and say it's
something they want to be a part of.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
And so I knew it.

Speaker 4 (48:26):
If the Hall of Famers was into it, I was
on the something because they wouldn't get behind something that
wasn't pure.

Speaker 2 (48:35):
Yeah, and so you know that's that's that's the the
way it started, and it really happened.

Speaker 4 (48:42):
After I seen Kobe's last game, I was I was
kind of upset that I couldn't see him play no more,
and I said, man, why can't he play? And then
I just like, well, maybe it's just the eighty two games.
Because if you could score sixty points in a damn game,
you can play. I don't give a damn you know

(49:04):
how old you are, you know what I'm saying, you
can play. So then I said, okay, well, then you
know what if it was half court. What if it
was you know, ten weeks, you know, it was arched
to fifty win and it was kind of a sprint
and not you know, such a long marathon or a

(49:25):
long grind and you get a week to recover.

Speaker 2 (49:29):
You know.

Speaker 4 (49:29):
I just tried to put all the good ingredients saying
to make sure players were that was at their best.
I kind of we kind of looked at the NFL model.
You know, an important game once a week, and you know,
you use the week to get your body right and
you can come out and you give a thousand percent.

Speaker 1 (49:48):
Joker becomes the third player to average a triple double
during the season. He joined his teammate Russell Westbrook, Oscar Robinson,
Oscar Robinson and russ are the only ones to average
a thirty point triple double. Yokid just finishing point two
points short of that. He averaged twenty nine point eight
points per game, twelve point eight rebounds per game, ten

(50:08):
point three assists per game, and average what one point
two steal one point eight steals per game, which was
tied for second. Dyson Daniels led the league with three
point zero since per game. Jokic had more trouble doubles
this season thirty four, than any three players in the
league combined. No other players else enter Friday with more

(50:30):
than ten this season. I think Lebron had exactly ten, correct,
So that just goes to show you just how dominant
yoke was.

Speaker 6 (50:40):
Very very hey, I got a questions.

Speaker 5 (50:44):
As dominant as he is right being that his game
isn't based on explosion and being quick and playing above
the rim, how long can he keep this up?

Speaker 2 (50:55):
As long as he want to.

Speaker 1 (50:57):
It's been reported he's about to sign a three year,
two hundred and twelve million dollar extension in the offseason,
which is the super Max, which is the most a
guy can sign.

Speaker 2 (51:05):
For which is that seventy million dollars.

Speaker 1 (51:07):
Per year extension, which with Luca was going to be
entitled to this offseason, so right, because well, look, Lucas
dilling a lot.

Speaker 2 (51:17):
Of pounding show. It's not a lot of up and down,
said others. Eight years.

Speaker 6 (51:24):
Consistency, consistently doing this.

Speaker 2 (51:27):
He got this as long as his mind stays sharp.

Speaker 1 (51:30):
Yeah, but you got to realize those type players are
not like American players, right they It's not the end
all be all of them.

Speaker 2 (51:37):
You hear them talk.

Speaker 1 (51:39):
He wants to get back to his horses, he wants
to get back to his native land. He wants to
be with his family. That's that's what he wants to do.
I'm not saying he doesn't the game series. He takes
the game you don't become this good, I don't care
how time you are, be this doubt.

Speaker 2 (51:53):
On it without taking the game series, without putting the
work in. And that was the fact.

Speaker 1 (51:58):
I mean people talk about Luca, look and put the
work in. I think the thing is with Luca is
that you look at his body. He's never gonna have
a body like Lebron James. He's never gonna have a
body like the Dwight Howard, Ned Shoki. Yeah, that's not
how that's not their makeup. That's not their genetic makeup,
O Joe, that's not how they're gonna be built. Your

(52:19):
peer players, well what you're apean players, you see built
like that got counts from his shoulders abbed up, right,
you're right, they got quad ham straight definite.

Speaker 2 (52:29):
Not even what they are alot. Can you put the
ball in the basket?

Speaker 6 (52:35):
Cat Absolutely, absolutely, he.

Speaker 1 (52:40):
Had a phenomenal season. But Shae Shae, Shae should win
the MVP. He's earned that.

Speaker 2 (52:45):
He's been.

Speaker 1 (52:46):
I mean, all those consecutive twenty point games, all those
he led the league in fifty point games, led the
league in forty point games, thirty point games, twenty point games.
He's he admits, sensational. And they have the best record
in the NBA. Hmm, he got whatever. Yeah, yeah, Johnny's

(53:08):
had eleven, Leron has ten. So Lebron finished second, h
third triple doubles. But Jokic was far, far, far, far,
far far ahead ahead of everybody with those triple doubles.
But it's gonna be a very interesting matchup because there's
a big body that can bang with him.

Speaker 2 (53:26):
But here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (53:27):
Lukebax gonna have to be extremely careful because he can
get him in foul trouble because Joki got all.

Speaker 2 (53:31):
Those moves, those ups and unders and doops and dooke.

Speaker 1 (53:34):
So it's gonna be very very interesting to see how
this thing plays out the volume
