Back to back Western Conference Finals appearance for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The timber Wolves eliminated the Golden State Warriors M five
to reach the Conference finals once again, and man average
twenty six points a game, almost eight rebounds, almost six assists.
Julius Radda right there with him twenty five points a game,
almost seven rebounds, almost seven and a half assists per game,

(03:26):
the dynamic duo was as good as advertised, even better
as the rounds advanced. After the edward that the Timberwolves
have faced a very impressive Dollar the Stars on their
way to back to back conference finals and dispatch them all.
Remember last year they beat Katie and Book, they beat
Yoki Ji Murray. This year they took down Lebron and
Luca And although they only faced Steph for a game,

(03:48):
the game that Steph played in he started. They ended
up losing that game, but once Steph went away, they
swept it a gentleman's sweep fo five to one four
the one excuse me. The Timberwolves advanced to the Western
Conference Finals, where they'll wait the winner of the Nuggets
and the OKC thunder Oh watching this game tonight, Minnesota.
They've been very impressive. Ad Man is a budgeting superstar.

(04:12):
He's growing right before our eyes. Julius Randall has found
the home. He played very very well alongside ad Man,
and they get great contribution. Jade McDaniels had fourteen points,
Rudy Gobert had seventeen points, Mike Conley had sixteen points.
Dante deeven Chinsville he had thirteen points. This was an

(04:32):
overall team effort, and this is what you want. You
get an opportunity to close the team out. You close
them out.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
You don't leave anything to chance because your road ain't
care anything away from extending the series.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
They took care of business and now they're moving on.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
What impressed you most about what you saw tonight from Minnesota?

Speaker 3 (04:50):
I think that you.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Know watching Minnesota, you know this year from last year,
I think they most focused a man just showing the
world of high Great, he's gonna be you know, we're
doing his cortillion the NBA. But you gotta get the
coach and stall a lot of credit. That's a big game,
closed out at home, getting ready for the next years.
Everybody took a turn tonight. Rudy was inside, Julie was

(05:14):
just posting up. You got Conley was hitting big three's. Uh,
Dante's doing what he's doing in New York getting big plays.
And Ant was just on cruise control tonight. He make
sure everybody got stops and he just played the game.
He can get smarter and smarter by morey watch more
than you get.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
He had twenty two points twelve assists, which is a
career playoff high twelve assists, seven rebounds, three blocks tonight
and all steal As you mentioned the thing where they were,
they got whatever they wanted.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
They shot sixty three percent from the floor.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
They damned just shot better from the floor than they
did the free throw line.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
They were only sixty seven percent from the free throw line.
It was sixty three percent from the floor. And as
you mentioned at Man, look at Julius.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Rader was thirteen of eighteen, Rudy Gobert was eight of nine,
Mike Conley five or seven, at Man eight and fifteen,
Reid three or five, Dante five or seven. So you
can see they were getting whatever they want, easy shots
at the rim.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
They did a great job. Now they they lost the
offensive rebounding battle. I mean, Golden State had eighteen offensive
rebounds to six. It didn't hurt them, but you know
the next team the next round, both teams can offensive rebounds,
so they're gonna have to clean that up. O Joe,
you watched this game and we talked about when Steph
went down, they were gonna have to fight.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
They have an uphill climb.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Tonight, positive Pozski he came to play. He had twenty
eight points, eleven to nineteen, four to six, Jimmy, Jimmy
struggled a little bit, four eleven. He only had eleven shots,
Oh Joe, he was nine eleven from the free throw
line or three from the three point line. But outside
of pose and kaminga inga, they didn't get the contributions

(06:51):
that they really needed, and they really needed Jimmy Butler.
This is why they got Jimmy for a game like this.
If Steph is out extended, let's give him an opportunity
because he's gonna start doing some light working and the
next game is three days away, so maybe we get
a chance to get him. And this is when they
needed playoff Jimmy to be playoff Jimmy and Golden State.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Listen, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (07:11):
I don't know what was wrong with Jimmy at all,
because he's been even playing. He hasn't been aggressive the
past two games, obviously trying to facilitate to everybody else,
if they even have a chance, you down three one,
if you even gonna have a chance. I need playoff Jimmy.
I need that mentality to come through. Well, I'm gonna
take this game over. I'm gonna do everything I can
to get myself from ridden first, and then I'm gonna

(07:31):
facilitate to everybody else once I get myself going.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
Pazimski led the team with twenty.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Eight level of nineteen, I mean level of twenty three,
So that shows you they were grace aggressive. That's what
we're expecting for Jimmy because remember last game on Joe
he only took eight shots and be like, man, what's
going on with Jimmy? And now he comes back in
a close out game.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
Is do or die?

Speaker 2 (07:54):
You either cleaning out your locker or you're getting another
outfit ready to go back on the road back home,
And this is.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
What you give us. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Now.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
This is not the Jimmy we used to seeing. This
is not the jim I'm used to seeing with Miami. Right,
So maybe this late in the season is something drown
with Jimmy. Maybe he's hurt, maybe something is ailing that
we don't know about. But he's still fighting knowing that
Steph is out and they would have no production from
anywhere else outside of him and Kaminga.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Kaminga should be in the start line from now on period.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
Steve kirs should be ashamed of himself, but having somebody
that's continuously dropping buckets the way he is night in
the night out and losing efforts and still doing all
he can with Steph being out outside of that listen,
Julus Randall did what he was gonna do. Add Man,
he's the face of the league. I don't care what
nobody's say. He's ahead of the snake. The snake gonna
over God damn. Rudy Gobert dropped seventeen to night unk.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Yeah, seventeen seventeen and six seventeen. What do you have?

Speaker 2 (08:49):
He had seventeen points, eight rebounds, nor assists, no steals,
one block, but he was plus twenty one. Jimmy was
plus twenty, McDaniel's plus two, Rudy go. So they got
all around team effort. But now you watch it.

Speaker 5 (09:04):
That's a key word before before I let you finish, right,
you just said the key words.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
A team answer.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Guys in double figures, not just that Chad. They all
start over fifty percent from the field. That would hurt
me and especially your team on the side. Don't have
your main guy. And you know, like I said, Butler,
I mean, I mean they've been saying he's been playing well,
even though been winning with him, you ain't see that

(09:33):
Butler in Miami, we haven't you know, a couple of
games here and there, but he a't.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
He never really.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
Played consistent god State, but Golden State won the record
looked good. But on the court and the playoffs, Butler,
you know you could take over. But these guys is
young athletic, and you know that's the game now. It
ain't about banging no more. It's the way and tell
going up and down the court.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
If when you if you watched the Warriors and you
watched the timber Wood, where can they guard Draymond really
can't do anything with you Randall, He's too big of
a body.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
He just he just bangs it.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
They don't really have anybody that can do anything with
an ad man. And so really your two best players
you don't really have an answer for. So if you
don't have an answer for them, now you bring the
double team. I'm gonna kick and I'm gonna get Mike
Conley getting wide open threes. I'm gonna get somebody getting
wide open looks or somebody dive into the basket, because
you've got to send help. If you don't send help,

(10:28):
I'm gonna punish your guys one on one, and that's
what happened tonight.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Your stars when you got stars and.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Their polding team don't have a guy's But even if
nobody can really stop anybody, but make them be inefficient.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
Julius Ronda was thirteen of eighteen.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
That's not making an inefficient at man was was eight
of fifteen, five or nine from the three. So he's
shooting over fifty percent from the three. He's shooting over
fifty percent from the floor. Julius ran Is thirteen of eighteen.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
I mean, so, I mean, what's really a fund bill?

Speaker 3 (11:00):
You know? Nine? Right, So it's gonna be hard to
beat them.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
It's lessing all three of them shooting like that, and
the team is rolling. I mean, they got a little
Luther gout with them, turn over the playing the ball game.
But that's that's Minnesota though. You know they go down
by fifteen, go up by twenty.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
That if I'm Chris Finch o'toe, I'm saying, look, guys,
if we want to be the team that we think
we can be, right, we can't have a laps like
this because we have a laugh like this in the
next game. Next round, both of those teams will come
all the way back and snatch a victory from us.
So let's not play around. Let's kill the net with

(11:42):
a sledgehaman. We have them down twenty twenty two to
twenty three points, let's go ahead and end it. Make
them go. Make Steve Kirk go ahead and sub his
guys out with more minutes left because they're down twenty six.
Let's not dilly dally around. And I think that's the
mentality you're gonna have to have. You're right, the ad
man is what twenty three, twenty four years of age?

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Ye'ah?

Speaker 4 (12:02):
I think he's twenty three a twenty three, twenty two yeah,
twenty yeah, he might be twenty three. But anyway, those
those are those are the type of games. This is
a very a very learnable moment, teachable excuse me, teachable
moment because when you get get in these situations on Joe,
let's not fool around.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Now, let's go ahead in this thing. Hey, I can
get you out. Because a man played forty eight minutes.
You ran to play forty three minutes. McDaniel played forty
one minutes. Hey, listen, I could have got your guys
off the court. Yeah, that could have been instead of
forty one, that could have been thirty seven, That could have.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Been thirty six.

Speaker 5 (12:38):
Absolutely, And the way they played towards the end of
the game, Monk, if they're playing a better team, you're
playing a better a better team out the West. Yeah,
you're not gonna be able to pull that off. You're
not gonna be able to pull that off. Of those turnovers.
And obviously collectively when you make it to the when
when you make it to that Western Conference finals, you're
gonna be and a much better team all the way around,
all the way around. Shit, the goddamn Warriors, and I

(12:59):
mean no, justo like a gen team and not without Steph.
You know everything I know, but Zimski and goddamn community
did they thing.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
But outside of that, but it really wasn't nothing not
there you know what they have steph Uh.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
So they got too much, they got too too much
left and they too talent and they got man and.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
Figure out how to play basketball. He give them the.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
Ball up left and right. Yeah, because they double team.
Somebody opened every time because he passing the ball, you
got getting cracked. And he had found out how to
play the double team. Right, and that was and I
think that you know, ok and Ocho.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
I think the best thing that happened to ant Man
is that he went to the Olympics and he saw
the other great players and he saw how they played. Yeah,
he saw Steph that give the ball up. He saw
Kad give the ball up. He saw Lebron give the
ball up. Think about when they were down to Serbia
and it's like, oh, and you see them guys flay
unselfish step Hey, guys making three four passes instead of

(13:55):
force because a lot of times and said to himself,
he hell, I get down ten points, I'm going hero ball.
They say, nah, we just make the right pass. You've
got to be able to trust. Not obviously he ain't
got Lebron, his step and KDS teammates. But you have
to be willing to trust the guys that they're gonna
be able to do it. Now, there will be a

(14:16):
time that you have to put ay, go into that
phone booth, make a quick change and come out with
the KPE on your back. But you're gonna have to
trust you because you're not gonna always be able to
do that. You're gonna have to be able to trust
those guys. Those guys need to know that you trust
them and give them confidence that they can step up
and make those shots. But I like what I like
what I saw from him because when the Lakers tried

(14:36):
to take him away, he passed the ball. But the
problem that the Lakers had is that not only was
he making the right play pass, he was still getting
thirty points. He was getting forty points. So you can't
You gotta make it one of the other. You either
make him a score or you make him a facilitator,
but you can't let him do both.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
They they want a double team, but they're not freak
in the double team for rob rotating back to the position.
And that's what uh they cook. They kicked the Lakers
because Luke, Yes, Nesta playing five and a half against
four handeuse gonna do nothing on defense.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
And they figured that out.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
That's why they helped rotating the ball and Lakes you
way him out. We rocked at the ball like that,
and you and they kept putting Luca in the pick
and roll. Yeah, so hey, because here's the thing, this
is one thing to get beat.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
If a guy can beat you, you're like, okay, make
him take three dribbles to beat you the guy beating
Luke off the first dribble. Now help comes guy. Yeah,
you can't win like that. There's a report coming out, uh, guys.
Steve Kerr reportedly had an issue with Jonathan Kaminga looking
off step during at times during the game. Per Logan Murdoch,

(15:50):
Kaminga has a propensity to look for his shot at
the expense of the floor of Golden State's offense has
hurted the coaching staff. Team sources say Kerr wasn't incensed
after several instances in which Kaminga looked off Curry to
create his own offense. Kaminga's subsequent subsequently received DMPs in
the Warriors regular season finale against the Clippers and then

(16:11):
again in the play and match up against the Grizzlies.
By the start of the playoffs, many within the within
the organization wondered whether Kaminga, who is eligible for an extension,
has played his last game with the Warriors. The Warriors
or now oh and seven. When Kaminga plays twenty plus
minutes in the playoffs, that's.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
Fine, Send him somewhere else.

Speaker 5 (16:30):
Send him somewhere else, and let less someone else that
values him and what he brings to the court, Let
him play, let him play.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
He just show Hey, ok, he just showed you.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
We get to do with Steph ban I mean my
thing was, Steff, you gotta be a special. You gotta
be willing to break your game down like Draymond. He
breaks you know. I mean Draymond's worked for him coma.
He's a guy athletic, gets to the ram. He needs
the ball for the type of game. So yes, trading
to Washington, Cobody, get a playoff back and play with
Steph for next two or three years, because you're holding

(16:59):
the kid back. He really if that was some guy
that'll broke down, he kept his head. He been balling
the playoff even though they ain't winning. It ain't his
fault because his effort the points and for him just
being strong to go on the court and just going
before some guy was against it. Kurt, and he curted
me to get over this thing. To get you a

(17:21):
line up. You know what you got. It's playoffs. You
all in ten different lineups, and this and that. Miss
Mike and JJ do a little the same thing too.
You bring these guys the games down to play high
and you want to play but then when contract come
up or you're gonna reward them. These guys want, these
young guys, they want the ball, they want to feel special,

(17:41):
and it's hard to break some habits, especi the NBA
because now it's you know, everybody wants you three.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
They want to feel the ball.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
So you gotta be careful these days with these playoffs
because they're real sensitive.

Speaker 5 (18:00):
Hey, you know what I like to the fact that
you just said, especially players in this day being very sensitive,
and you get messed with the mental, especially when you're
not getting time. And now with this report coming out,
the fact that even with these reports and him not
playing and her not playing, kaminga look how he's still
when he got his opportunity, he took advantage of he
made the most of it, and he showed you regardless

(18:20):
of what you got going on and whatever, whether you
may have but he didn't allow me to play during
you know, the Clipper series still form the come out
hand ball. So all you did was that that was
his resume unk you know though.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
Yeah, pro yeah, he didn't hang his head. He could
have hung his head like and like, man, you know
you don't sobbed me. You sobbed me the regulars. The finale,
you slapped me in to play in and now you
now you ain't got no choice but to use me
when you having played the game as long as you played,
you know, when you played with a superstar, you got
to be willing to sacrifice.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
There's no other.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
Way that you are if you ain't like a continue
all star in this league and you guys, some guys
on the bubble, some guys go how to play, but
you gotta know I play with Michael Jordan. You know,
if I came to the league, it was both stars
and want to see him play, practice and what he do.
And I knew that I couldn't be a score, but

(19:17):
I played with him like a rebound defense. I didn't
mind doing that because he was winning. Right, we're winning,
and there a lot of perks that's being around him
and everything else.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
So in me cee bringing him back for some reason.
We're gonna talk about that a little later.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
But I think the thing is like, if it is hard,
it's hard when you like, man, I got I got
the game, then I could go get twenty five. And
you got to play with Lebron or you gotta play
with the stuff. I mean, And so those guys are
willing to sacrifice. But if you're going to their team,
you got to be the you have to take the
bigger sacrifice.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
That's the only way to do it.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
I mean, if you go team up, if you go
team up with Yanni's you not getting more shots.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
You're just not No, unless you Lebron occur, that's all
you want.

Speaker 5 (20:07):
So he's saying, So he's saying, so, okay, let me
get this right, right, So in commingus, Kate, let's say stiff.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
Curry was was was healthy, and they ain't getting as
many minutes.

Speaker 5 (20:16):
Oh and they both on the floor at the same time.
So he has to suppress his game and his shot, yes,
just so Steph can continue to cook.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
And Eatause the offense is built around Steph and perpetual emotion.
So you can't go outside of the scope of the
offense in order to create your offense.

Speaker 5 (20:34):
Okay, I got you, now, Listen, even even with what
he showed us the past two games or three games,
as good as he's been being there, you know, putting
the ball on the floor, creating his own shot, even
still to the even still he still has.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
To defer to Steph.

Speaker 4 (20:46):
No matter what I mean my saying, it's all about Reed.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
It's about Reed. It's like you run a.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
Route and you know that, you know it's it's third
and six and another guy's running ten fee ten yard
route and you're on a eight yard route. I'm gonna
look for you first. I just gonna get the first down.
We can go burdic the next route after you get
the first down. So Steph is the first option and
Steph is the great past.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
Yeah, okay, but he got it.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
He maybe the all the guys can get away with
taking a certain shot because he's stealth. He created all
element so you got to live in him and die
with him.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
But think about what Steph. Did Steph sacrifice his game
when KD came over. Yeah, so you think about that.
Spec about Steph.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
Hurry MVP.

Speaker 5 (21:33):
Wait, Steph still averaged the same amount of points even
with Kd's being there though.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
But he took but he took less. He's like, you
know what a I take, go ahead, do your thing,
KT right, And so that's what because he at the
end of the day, the goal is to try to
win a championship. Now, if you want to go the.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
Same reason they got rid of Jordan Poole and like, okay,
you you you want to score. We tried to win games, right,
there's a difference between the two, Oh Joe, if you're
doing what you're doing and we're winning.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
Right.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
You see in the last seven games in which Cominglands
played twenty plus minutes, they're.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
Oh and seven, only seven.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
But I think when Steth played with KD, KD is
so efficient, and yet he ain't got nothing to worry about, right,
he knows what he takes twenty sivens he's gonna make
thirteen or fourteen, but may gonna take twenty side he
gonna make seven eight.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
It's a big difference.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
And that's the thing because now and guess what who
let's see who do we double team? If we double
team if we double team KD, that means Steph and
what you call up and Clay getting wide open shots.
If we double team Steph, now that means KD and Clay.
We're not gonna double Clay. But kay Is is probably
the better of the catching shooters. KD gonna be able

(22:42):
to get his own shot. He's seven foot tall, he
can put the ball on the floor. He's a three
level score. He can shoot the three, he can get
to the mining and he can finish all the way
at the rim.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Steph.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Steph has brought that to his bag now because before
us you run Steph off the line. Steph just gonna
side step you. Now Stephane put the ball on the
floor and get to his float game. So now how
do you defend it? He just needs another player and
jim And they really thought that was gonna be Jimmy.
Jimmy was supposed to be the guy that was gonna
alleviate a lot of the stress and tension on Steph

(23:15):
because he was a guy because we saw what he
did in Miami.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
Miami. Yeah, but he for whatever reason though, Joe, he
has not looked like that.

Speaker 4 (23:25):
Guy like he on Cruise and Throw. They don't They
wanted to do eighty five in the fifty control.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
They want you to speed because Curry ain't there. They
need you.

Speaker 6 (23:38):
They need that, yes, what you had in Miami. They
need to go the night. He's got to get forty
and fifty. Take these twenty plus shots. He gotta take
at least twenty.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
He needed to have the amount of shots that Kaminga had,
Kamena had twenty three, Pazemski had nineteen that needed to
be Jimmy.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
Yeah, you think you think the boo and don't bother
somebody like Jimmy. How you don't get you don't get
nobody the booing. Huh uh huh you think the bull
n Jimmy. Yeah, he's been around. But my thing is
they gave they gave him the money. They gave him
the money, and now they want something back for the money.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
Yeah. And then because Pat.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
Roddy took him to the ring, I like, no, Pat
Rowdy feels like like you said that that that neig
was going towards it, towards me.

Speaker 3 (24:25):
So the self full he right out of gas.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
Pat, you know, when you've been around a long time,
you can see my guy's body. He looks good, got
the muscles like get me down the court. But inside,
you know, it's like a brand new car and some
people got an old car. I got ten up my
car because my life, so all my life's on. But
I'm still ride so you can't see here, but my
car's about.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
To break down. Hey he got check engine light on, top,
pressure light on on. George, the battle line downside the road,
that's a good one. That's a good one.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
Pat Riley, one of the old school coaches are Oh
Pat pat Riley. All pat Riley cares about is year
to year. Oh you took us to all these all
these finals. They ain't got nothing to do with it.
All I saw last year is that you wore down
and you didn't look the same like you did in
no championship. So he's not because Pat is like and
a lot of coaches and gems and on things like this.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
Oh Joe, I've already paid you.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
When I give you an extension, I'm facing that extension
on what I believe you're going to do in the
next three, four or five years. I've already paid you
for taking us to the finals, like gave you forty
million for that. I ain't paying you based on what
you've done. I'm paying you based on what I believe
you can do.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
Yo, Kitchen is about to sign a three year deal
two hundred and twenty one million, not because these three MVPs.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
They believe he.

Speaker 4 (25:48):
Can win another two three bar Yeah, that's why you
give a guy that kind of contract.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
And so Jimmy is like, hey, y'all saw what I've done? Yeah,
Pat said We rewarded you for that.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
But you know how the NFL, you come in your
rooking contract and get another. It's hard to get three
contract NFL. Oh, he said, he's going down at eight
of nine years. Specially running back. You might get it now.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
The way they do it now, they try to get
a running back because they refilled the running back his
highest value old joege Win on this rookie contract because
he's twenty one years of age. So now I get
four years out of twenty five. I've done put two
hundred and fifty carries on him a year, maybe more so,
I've already got a thousand to twelve hundred carries on
his body.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
Yeah, right, that's what they're saying. It's like, well, I
don't know now.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
Hopefully with the way Sa Kwan is played, the way
Darrin Henry, he kept his body up.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
Josh Jacobs, we saw resurgers.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
We saw genty go very very high because for the
longest time on Joe, they had diminished the roll of
the running back. Thanking some great production this year by
the running back position.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
It's starting to come back.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
We saw Joe Mixon, we saw Josh Jacobs, we saw Henry.
We saw Saquon, we saw Jamire, Gibbs and Montgomery. So hopefully,
hopefully they'll start to reward these running backs because they
were looking at a the maximum value we're gonna get
at this guy's this rookie contract.

Speaker 5 (27:16):
But you gotta think, look at all the people you
just name. You talk about the cream of the crop.
You talk about cram of the running back position, Well.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
They pay every other position that ain't the cream of
the crop. Look at all these quarterbacks. Yeah, yeah, but
you know who they value most.

Speaker 5 (27:31):
You know, you know who they feel is the least
valuable is the running back. They think you could just
you could plug. You can plug and pull. I could
just pull on from somewhere else. You can't pull a
Saquon from anywhere, Hey, Henry, from anywhere else?

Speaker 3 (27:45):
I bet? I bet Cincinnati wish they had Joe Mixing.

Speaker 5 (27:48):
Hey, Joe had a hell of a very very good season,
But wish they had Josh Jacobs.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
Look what he did say? Even mister beet he miss so.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
According to Chan's Draymond was trying to find fifty thousand
for making an inappropriate comment uh that questions the integrity
of the game officials. Doing Game three, cameras called Dre
on the sideline, mouthing five and a half spread during
time out after he filed out.

Speaker 4 (28:19):
M Draymond. Draymond is nicky, chill Raymond. You know everybody Draymond.
You know, he come out everybody after him to go,
please do it, Draymond. You do something every time they
ain't call him this cause Draymond. You do something, you
really get you a break, Draymond, and you still hollered
and cut the fisher. Draymond would be out the game

(28:43):
by about the third time down the court every other game.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
You know.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
You know he does that because he know once he
gets one, they're gonna be very reluctant to give him
that second teket throw him out of the game because
they don't want to influence the game.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
Right.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
Hey, I wouldn't be worried about it for the game.
I mean, I ain't gonna let the mind cuss me out.
Average six seven points a game. I mean, Draymond got
to get a triple double. You gotta get a triple double.
I know he said he feel good about this team,
Butler coming make this last playoff run with Curry. But
the Curry got hurt. The team just seemed like just
they didn't have no more jews. You know, they played

(29:24):
to a limit. But to Lanta you need talent. You
gotta have talent up pro to win. Dramond has been
fired nine hundred and ninety two thousand dollars in his career,
with one hundred and eighty five thousand coming for action
towards official. He's also been doc three point two million
for suspensions, so he's lost over dollars.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:48):
Then, well, I don't like to curse that much. I
don't like to be writing that much on't Joe. I
don't know about you won't very got. That's a good call.
That was a good call, real good call.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
You know what, when you made that kind of money,
it's like you ain't even paying no mind. Honestly. Oh
it's a mind huh. I know.

Speaker 5 (30:05):
I mean you've got to think about it. If you
would have added up my fines, right, I know the
times were different the time. They gotta think for eleven
years straight, huh, I got fined every season for eleven
years straight. To the point, why put money aside? Because
I know I am I'm fin the cut up anyway,
But how much do you get fined difference? You might
have fined thousand.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
A quarter of a million every year. Hold on, hold on,
hold on. Oh, you gotta think.

Speaker 5 (30:31):
Right, my first my first offense during the season, it
starts five thousand, right.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
I'm saying, how much was it a done year? About
forty fifty thousand?

Speaker 5 (30:39):
No, no, no, because by the time I got to
about week ten, and I was doing stuff at that point,
it was thirty to forty to fifty thousand.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
So you think you got hey, uncle dad, at that point,
I ain't. I ain't even care.

Speaker 4 (30:50):
I'm having fun. You think you got fined a quarter
of a million dollars a year?

Speaker 3 (30:55):
Yeah? Oh, you think you got to find that much? Absolutely? Okay. Oh,
let me let me tell you something.

Speaker 5 (31:00):
Remember when I tweeted on the sideline in two thou nine,
that was thirty.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
Grand right there.

Speaker 5 (31:05):
You remember when in September, Oh, I put on a poncho,
like a real poncho on the song bur road in September.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
They took fifty for that.

Speaker 5 (31:14):
And you gotta think I kept doing stuff week in
and week out, the orange chin strap, the black chin strap,
the road, wearing gold shoes.

Speaker 3 (31:21):
I didn't care.

Speaker 5 (31:22):
I just and when you add it all up by
the end of the season. I didn't care because I
was making it making, but you really didn't pay attention
to it. That's what happened sometimes. Yeah, Raymond, I got
found a lot in my career. I got five about
five five four or five million?

Speaker 3 (31:38):
You got fired career? Oh, I mean you played eighteen years,
nineteen years. Well mine was more like suspension file. A
couple of people in the head before the game and stuff.
Oh he was out there tuessling with them, man I
one two?

Speaker 1 (31:55):
Is it?

Speaker 3 (31:58):
Hey?

Speaker 4 (31:58):
That Barnaka was about, Hey, you got he you got
it with what Tyroll Hill? With Tyroll Hill? That's what
That's how many games you that? That was not a
pickup game. That was in the summertime. He ting to
walk up on me? You know what I'm saying?

Speaker 3 (32:18):
Who you got who you got to fight with? Hold on?
You can you slapped somebody? You went to that shoot around?

Speaker 4 (32:24):
Oh that was uh what's the name and the Clippers.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
Mcginner's Jeah McGinnis.

Speaker 4 (32:31):
Yeah, yeah, Oh you knew, you knew that the word
was gonna get back to Stern that you had did
something and he was gonna put the he's gonna drop
the hammer.

Speaker 3 (32:44):
Why you do that?

Speaker 4 (32:46):
It wasn't about that, he threatened me, man, and hey,
and I told him. I went and they practice the
whole team, everybody, the whole coach.

Speaker 3 (32:56):
Of Savad roberstid. Oh they about to join you. Nah,
they weren't gonna do that. I told the ball, all
of them.

Speaker 4 (33:04):
If he said that's my friend, I told you suppot
to be having your friend, he didn't have him.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
No, they know better. Hey, Oh oh you was? You
was the original debo.

Speaker 4 (33:17):
Man, Well, I mean, what's my thracking you? My brother
had told me. Don't wait for them to go to him.

Speaker 5 (33:24):
I mean, actually, in the in the basketball setting, words
or just words, they really don't mean that outside outside
of the court. They just saying it because on the
court it's a safe place, so they.

Speaker 3 (33:33):
Ain't really mean it. Hey said, this is one thing.

Speaker 4 (33:36):
I don't play on the court, and I don't play
off the court.

Speaker 3 (33:40):
Don't you want don't he what you mean? What you get?
I've been knowing to thirty plus years. He is exactly
what he said.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
Believe if he's saying he gonna slap it shot you
if you get closer and he.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
Gonna slap you. I like it. I like it.

Speaker 4 (33:56):
Who that you leave money to? Who do that you
leave money to? In the card game? And he didn't
pay you?

Speaker 3 (34:02):
Yeah, him, that happened without the game too.

Speaker 4 (34:06):
He paid you back. He paid you back yet, well
he was trying not to. But he said we going
to a divorce. And they said his wife or something
happened this and that. I was like, huh, I said,
I ain't ent to your wife. So I got it
right before the playoff though.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
Bad oh, bad oh. You was wild with him that one.
All right, check this out. Time to talk about your knicks. Oh,
the Celtics right back, keep the season alive. Derrick White
had thirty four points, seven may three, three blocks. He
was nine to sixteen, seven to thirteen plus twenty second,
his second thirty point playoff game this playoffs. Jalen Brown
was sensational as well, very efficient and twenty six points,

(34:49):
twelve assists, eight rebounds.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
The Knicks lead three to two. Game six is Friday.

Speaker 4 (34:55):
Oh what do your knicks need to do to make
sure they don't have to go back to Boston for
a game?

Speaker 3 (35:00):
Ain't seven? Well?

Speaker 4 (35:01):
I think that antenna should be up because you know
Taylor wasn't playing Brown.

Speaker 3 (35:07):
He was like a magician the night and uh he
got everybody involved. He got pretched off the bench.

Speaker 4 (35:13):
Uh Luke Cornett came in dominate. I think you know
they just that was two x pac off the bench
and bridges and og. They got cracked the car up earlier.
It's cold outside. Got trained the car. You can't drive
the car was cold. So the Knicks gonna have to
come out get more sins urgent. I think that town's

(35:36):
gonna have to play better.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
And they got to know.

Speaker 4 (35:38):
You gotta set them out six games going home. Forget
about game five you lost. You know, they dominate. The
whole game went up twenty again, twenty four points, and
you know, I think Cam should took the guys out
with five minutes going to fourth. You weren't coming back
twenty two points than five minutes. But you know, Bronson fout.

(35:59):
You know, Drew hallidays this game up. I mean they
came to play in one of the best player like
Curry missing for Golden State, Taylor messing for Boston, but
Boston sewed up.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
They sewed up and sold out.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
You got Jalen Brown had his most efficient game of
this series. He was nine of seventeen, three or five
from the three point line.

Speaker 4 (36:20):
He was twenty six plus twenty eight. Derrick White nine.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Of sixteen, seven of thirteen, nine of eleven from the
free throw line, plus twenty six holiday plus fourteen. He
was a plus twenty three. You got Al Horford who
was plus eleven, and then you mentioned Luke Cornett came
off the bench. He gave it ten nine and seven blocks.
And Pritchett was plus twenty four. He had one of
the highest plus minus. He was five or fourteen, seventeen

(36:46):
big points. So they got the contributions that they needed
in order to keep the series alive. We expected Michal Bridges.

Speaker 4 (36:54):
Remember the other night, Ojo how he went off, Remember
og how he went off when the call.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
Anthony Towns played extremely well. Cat played okay, five of eleven.
I don't think he was aggressive with no I mean
he had shot nine free throws, eight of.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
Them in in the last six minutes. It didn't count.

Speaker 4 (37:13):
You get him in the beginning of the thirty fourth quarter,
and you know.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
But putting that put pressure on the Celtics.

Speaker 4 (37:19):
Chack got to come out and put some pressure on
uh KP you know, he's he hurt when Luke came
in and changed the whole game. He did when he
changed the game, blocking shot, keeping the ball, lying, making
them take tough shot coming to the basket, you know.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
And Robinson was playing well tonight. He made his free throws, he.

Speaker 4 (37:39):
Didna Yeah, he made he made like six out of
seven something like that. Yeah, so he saw play well
basically just they let him get two po ahead. I mean,
how many times you gotta running down the horse? The
horse fans with you? Yeah, yeah, Going to Joe, what
did you what did you like about what you saw?

Speaker 3 (37:56):
Because I didn't think the Celtics.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
I didn't think the South like hell y'all losing to
the Knicks with Jason Tatum and he had forty two
in that beat it.

Speaker 3 (38:05):
Yeah, and so I don't think they're gonna do anything.

Speaker 2 (38:07):
But Derrick White and Jaylen Brown set the tone early,
and then their role players came in. Luke Cortnett, like
I said, he gave you ten, nine and seven. Pritchard
did what he normally does, and so now I got
I got my contributors.

Speaker 5 (38:20):
They contributed, but listen, the contributors contributing on the office end,
but we need to talk about it on the defense end.

Speaker 3 (38:26):
On what they did. They stifled the damn offense for
the Knicks.

Speaker 5 (38:30):
They made everything when it came to Jayleen Bronson getting
himself in rhythm and creating shot to being able to
pass the ball.

Speaker 3 (38:36):
They suffocated the dog all goddamn game. Well it started,
you see where they started them. Not to cut you
off on Joe, you see it, they started on it.

Speaker 2 (38:43):
They put Jaylen Brown on it, somebody with a little
extra met because normally they was going with Holliday, did
going with Derrick White, they put ja They put JB
on him. JP did an excellent job. He a look
six foot seven long limb called a little bit more problems.
He was seven to seventeen, one to four from the
three point line. Go ahead, don't, Joe.

Speaker 5 (39:00):
I'm just saying, just obviously, from an offener standpoint, Brunton
couldn't get a cellfon rhythm. Then also, it seemed like
every time they were trying to run plays, it seemed
like every shot was contested, every shot of running the office.

Speaker 3 (39:13):
It was very difficult, you know, for them to do.

Speaker 5 (39:16):
And on the other end, in transition, offensively, the goddamn
Celtics was hitting all they goddamn shots. So when they
did go up fifteen and went up went up twenty
or whatever it may have been, it made it that
much more difficult for the Knicks to even get back
into the game.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
Oh, they couldn't back in the game because defense one good.

Speaker 4 (39:34):
You let how they get back into the game and
begin the fourth quarter?

Speaker 3 (39:37):
Here two big three's in a row. Yeah, he brunging
down to fifteen to fourteen. He come back bam, bam bam.

Speaker 4 (39:42):
So it was gonna be a dog fight that you
ain't all waiting this in the night because Balston was
just they was making shots, like you said, and they.

Speaker 3 (39:52):
Role player play excellent, excellent, Yes, accident.

Speaker 5 (39:56):
I got a question for you, Oh real quick, I'm
honest with me. I obviously your basketball acumen and IQ
is out this world because you played the game at
the highest level. Do you think the Celtics have a
chance to come back and win this series?

Speaker 4 (40:10):
I mean, if they can keep the game closed. I
mean the Knicks, I think when they come home, the
crowd gonna be there. But they can't let the thak
the crowd gonna play for them. They gotta come out
and play, execute early, put the press on, balls, go downhill,
don't don't give them a chance to breathe, and then
get them to file troubles. Like I said, get to
the free goal live. But they gonna come, both them,

(40:31):
come and fight. I mean, they ain't champions for nothing.
So we got New York. Want to realize that. You know,
anything can happen the course of game. You know you
don't want nobody to go down, but still you still
got to come out.

Speaker 3 (40:41):
The guys got to show up.

Speaker 4 (40:42):
The Knicks start, and five gotta store up on the
three Skys sowed up tonight.

Speaker 3 (40:46):
You need all five of them to play. It's a band.
Everybody gotta be on that point. Everybody gotta be able
to play their cement. So are you worried or you confident?
Are you confident in the next?

Speaker 4 (40:55):
I mean it's soon and win one, but you gotta
get the first. They need to win the one game.
Don't say, well we may chance. You don't holst up
back to Boston, no doubt. Jake what Jayden Brown sod
the night? I Q he can play the game. Everybody
was costioning. Can he stepping up? Jason Taylor ow here
he stepped it up and stepped up and stepped on

(41:17):
the Knicks.

Speaker 2 (41:17):
Yeah, he did. The Knicks were go. I mean the
Knick shot forty three throw atemps. So they were getting
to the fire line. They didn't shoot the ball particularly well,
and then they like, you know what, because I think,
what a three straight trip down?

Speaker 3 (41:29):
Bruston got to the fire line.

Speaker 2 (41:31):
And he's very crafty at Jordan files and if it's
a closed ball game, that's what you have to worry about.

Speaker 3 (41:37):
He's so great to clutch.

Speaker 2 (41:38):
He's probably the best player in the clutch in the
NBA because he knows how he can shoot the three,
he can get to the minutie, he can get to
the rim, and he knows how to get make you
filing to put him on the three throw line to
stop the clock, and so gives you guys a chance
to chase you down.

Speaker 3 (41:52):
But you're right. I thought what Boston did tonight.

Speaker 2 (41:56):
Now, if you let them shoot twenty, you let him
shoot forty five percent from the three, and they shoot
as many threes as they shot, you will have your
hands full.

Speaker 4 (42:03):
They they shoted in the low forties tonight. They shot nine. Yeah,
so they brought from they outscored you by thirty though. Yeah,
well I think the Knicks on the make seven three
seven uh seven for twenty nine something twelve or thirty.
It was what twelve or thirty twelve for thirty, So

(42:26):
I mean they beat him in that. They beat him
in the beating. This about every cligost. So they gotta
realize that they gotta come out of play. They gotta
eat they gluts early. They eat another blunch and be
ready easy.

Speaker 5 (42:49):
Hey hey, oh they got a is there is there
a better way? I'm just talking about for me, you know,
watching the game, it looks like every offensive possession for
the next it's a struggle just to create a shot
or to even get a shot. And when they do
get it, it's always contested somebody and draped over somebody,
or or they falling back, or it's like nothing is

(43:09):
ever just clean, nothing is ever just smooth.

Speaker 4 (43:12):
They run the offense basically off of what Bronston can
do for everybody else, you know, they get stagnated sometimes
and I think that Town's gotta go through the post.
Here from him being around the top of the key
three point line, he.

Speaker 3 (43:27):
Crows the whole thing up.

Speaker 4 (43:28):
He need to go on the baseline post up and
take them to press up the guys up top. But
like you said, the guys they do be going see
like you know, it's a toump shot. But the one
thing they do do on offense they get second shot
and they crash the boards.

Speaker 3 (43:43):
They crash the board and the thing is on George
life with anybody.

Speaker 2 (43:47):
It's like if you play with Luca, you find yourself
because he's so bald down than the handle of the ball,
you find yourself watching it. No, bro, hey, get your
ass out of the way, create some space because you
watch it him and then all of a sudden he
throws you. Because a lot of time they throw the
guys that handle the ball a lot they throw you
the ball with five seconds on the clock.

Speaker 3 (44:07):
Nah, bro, you go ahead keep it now.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
You want me to try to work magic with five
six seconds on the clock, And I got to take
a bad shot.

Speaker 3 (44:14):
Thereverybody looking at me like, come on, old Joe, Bro,
you gotta make that shot. Bro, what you mean, I
gotta make this shot. I'm twenty eight feet from the
basket and he just threw it to me with five seconds.

Speaker 2 (44:25):
But this is their offense, This is who they are
you know Josh Harden is not really looking for his shot,
and it seems like Michail Bridges doesn't look for his
shot until late. So basically two guys that's trying to
create offense is Cat and Brunson and now and now
now once he gets held to skelter, guys start looking
for the shot. But look at how Michail Bridges when

(44:47):
he looks for his shot early, how it looks look.

Speaker 3 (44:51):
Out of the offense.

Speaker 4 (44:52):
Look well, I mean that's the thing like when they
start him and oh gee sellers, but it shots early,
I think, then take tiles out his offense.

Speaker 3 (45:02):
But you want to keep coming here? Ain't that guy
that you know? He need attempt? Yeah? The mother guys
them off.

Speaker 4 (45:08):
I'm a tenacity rebounds to get back put back towns.
You need to get him going. You go out and
get him going games six, because he played better when
he get the ball early, he played better.

Speaker 3 (45:17):
He don't get it again, gets sacked it.

Speaker 4 (45:19):
So Bronson's being a great point guard, the frou general
on the team.

Speaker 3 (45:24):
He got to realize that.

Speaker 4 (45:25):
Then let's let's get tied off early and everything can flow.
You look at mckental Bridges Ojannnobit and Cat. They were
ten for thirty seven. That's not good enough. What's the same?
I think Og was what one for thirteen, one for twelve, twelve,
one for.

Speaker 3 (45:43):
Five from the three.

Speaker 2 (45:44):
McKim bridges four or fourteen from the field, one of
three from the three. Cat was five of eleven. Cat
just didn't have a lot of attempts. He got to
the fire line, but he just didn't have eleven attempts.
He need to be somewhere about seventy eight, somewhere seventeen
to twenty.

Speaker 3 (45:59):
Yeah, the twenty, that's where he needs to be at.

Speaker 2 (46:02):
But if you look like I said, Tims is a
is a defensive coach. You let a team shoot fifty
three percent, you let him shoot forty five percent from
the three.

Speaker 3 (46:12):
I mean Al Horford.

Speaker 4 (46:13):
Five or seven, Holiday five of eight, Derrick White nine
of sixteen, Brown nine of seventeen, Cordnet was five or five.

Speaker 3 (46:21):
Pritchard. He wasn't efficient, but he made a big shots down.

Speaker 2 (46:26):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you lived with that. I mean, he
has a couple of step backs and snatches. But they
look I thought the Knicks was gonna end it tonight.
Because you don't you don't want to chance it. And
that's why Boston is probably kicking themselves. It's like, man,
had we taken care of business the first two games,
now we just need one game to possibly close this

(46:47):
series out. But we're gonna have to beat this team
three times with our Jason Tatum. That's a tall order.
That's a tall order. Can it be done? Yes, But
I ain't putting any money that means something to me
down that they.

Speaker 3 (46:59):
Can do it. I don't want to. But you don't
want to bet nothing out?

Speaker 4 (47:03):
Hell?

Speaker 3 (47:03):
Now?

Speaker 5 (47:04):
Hey, oh, do you want the best out what she
let's be let's be fifty two hundred on the game.

Speaker 3 (47:10):
When you got Boston? Yeah, I got I got Boston
when the game six? Yeah? Game six? What you trying
to do?

Speaker 5 (47:18):
Whatever you call it, well, maybe make it light on yourself.

Speaker 4 (47:22):
Baby, what you do? Hey, you go get? Oh, don't
want his money down your Okay? She ain't sharing that,
ain't said you know, I'm from Cleveland now.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
With nothing with respect. I don't want no problems.

Speaker 4 (47:36):
Yeah, I'm gonna let him lide. Oh gonna come sleep
by his buddy. I got I got some guys down
and you know, citing that right around the corner. Oh yeah,
I not throw water on something that and you won't
even get ht.

Speaker 2 (47:51):
Hey, that's one thing about Oh now he will drive.
He gotta he got a bad. He got a bad
on his car. That's what I think about. Oh he
ain't afraid drive them driving.

Speaker 4 (48:01):
Cleveland, New York when he paid two hundred thousand buck
How man trying to put two hundred miles on it?

Speaker 3 (48:08):
He does, I'm trying to well my dollars let him
be my miles. Man.

Speaker 2 (48:13):
He ain't lying because the old Bonte car for b
uh seven sixty BMW.

Speaker 3 (48:20):
Man.

Speaker 2 (48:20):
He came to this like, hey, man, I brought the car.
He's at the four season old four season right up there, buckhead.
He's like, yeah, I'll I forget it. So he he
had me a bag full of bunny. He said, man,
keep the insurance on it till I get to where
I'm going.

Speaker 4 (48:33):
I believe that I'm gonna need it till tes. I
need you to keep the shirts till Tuesday. And he said, man,
where are you going? He's like, man, I'm going to Alabama. Yeah,
he will put that call the road. You know what
you're thinking about this? Nick Bannex will have a theory
on the increase achilles tears. He said, there's been an
achilles tear throughout the years, but my thoughts on them

(48:56):
is that they happened more now than I think.

Speaker 3 (48:58):
It's something has to do with them shooting them down loads.

Speaker 2 (49:00):
The players wearing nowadays cover them ankles up, fellas, you
think it's has something.

Speaker 3 (49:05):
To do with the shoe and the guys will work
and what do you think the problem is. I mean
a lot of guys getting hurried wear a low top.
Now they just Q shoes.

Speaker 4 (49:15):
But when you're playing balls, you gotta you gotta be
tightened up and yeah, ball safeties this and that. But
they like they're doing them long running too. They getting
up down to court more, They turning more. That we
used to play up and down now as playing sideways
and up and down. Yeah, so it ain't physical, but
you still getting up and down. You put mouths on
them shoes, did you did you do guys?

Speaker 2 (49:37):
Did guys tape their ankles? Do guys tape their ankles
or do they play free?

Speaker 4 (49:42):
I don't think they take I think we've played ninety
percent tape now is bober.

Speaker 3 (49:47):
Tape because when we play if you get hurt.

Speaker 4 (49:51):
If you ain't gonna get twisted and you can't play,
they gonna find you.

Speaker 3 (49:54):
They don't do that no more. Oh yeah, they just
find guys.

Speaker 4 (49:58):
So that's why most guys are They played with the ankles,
you know, so angles with this cethletic because they was taped.
But now they tape, they don't get them taped, and
they twist the day got them in two or three weeks.

Speaker 3 (50:09):
Right because I got I tell you, I don't know
how you did. You tape your.

Speaker 5 (50:12):
Ankles for Joe for fashion, not not not for no
uh no support you got And I like to feel
the ground.

Speaker 3 (50:20):
I can't feel the ground with tape on my ankles.
I need.

Speaker 5 (50:23):
I need to be flexible in a sense. You know,
I was a Reebok at that time. You know, Rebuk
had had the uniform and stuff, right them take a
oh I had them take all.

Speaker 3 (50:33):
The cushion and and uh what do you call it?

Speaker 5 (50:36):
The lining out of my shoe. My cleat was nothing
but a shell and some shooting. I need to feel everything.
It was like I had a track SPI you wanted
like a soccer shoot exactly.

Speaker 3 (50:48):
I need. I need to feel the floor every time
I test the float. So we played with past round.

Speaker 4 (50:53):
We had to tape your shoot around what and yeah,
we had to tape Sometimes it's game by twenty more
or something.

Speaker 3 (51:02):
We have to get they shoot around.

Speaker 4 (51:04):
We have to come and take right suicide and yeah,
fat fat Rowley and make sure he was gonna say
finding fast everything.

Speaker 3 (51:12):
Wait, suicide at the NBA level because you lose a game.
I mean it spelt like that.

Speaker 4 (51:19):
Yeah, I mean that's how he you know, Yeah, hey.

Speaker 3 (51:24):
You get all the bobs on them shoes.

Speaker 2 (51:27):
Achilles and ACL injury This season alone, did John T.
Murray towards Achilles, Damian Dame toward his, Jason Tatum toward
his Isaiah Jackson toward his Achilles, Drew Smith ruptured his Achilles. Kyrie,
Grant Williamsd, Anthony Melton and Mauritz Wagner both all toward
a c L with uh and Grant Williams had miniscus damage. Uh,

(51:51):
I take, but I taped that directly to my skin,
so I would take directly to.

Speaker 4 (51:57):
My Huh, you got no pre rape. I ain't got
no pre wrap. I got most you know, you know
that most kin. Yeah, I had the most skin, and
then I had that brown tape. Oh, Joe, you know
that brown tape they gotta take the scissors to cut. Okay, okay,
that's what that's how I take. That's how I take Myra. Okay, Okay,
I ain't have no prerap, no pre wrap.

Speaker 1 (52:18):
No.

Speaker 4 (52:19):
I thought that was the thin door I had, that
I had that brown tough ast tape that they had
to take the scissors to cut.

Speaker 3 (52:26):
Oh, I know what you're talking about. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
my ankles were bad. Man.

Speaker 4 (52:29):
I couldn't I couldn't chance it on, Joe. Yeah, Now
I didn't take Now that's in the game. Now I did.
I did regular tape in practice, but for the game.
But here's the thing. I'm going to go in the
game a lot though. Yeah, but see, the thing was
is that I wore I wore how to, I wore
h mids and then later in my career I went

(52:52):
to the load. Okay, but see cuse but I didn't
roll my acle like a lot of people roll the
ankle over the top.

Speaker 3 (52:59):
I turned my en.

Speaker 4 (53:01):
People people would fall over and dragged me down on
your and the ankle roll in.

Speaker 3 (53:05):
I know what you're talking about, because they putting you
from behind to ask you drop tackle. Yeah, they put
their way down you. Yes, could you get caught right underneath? Yep?

Speaker 4 (53:16):
I'm thinking we played guard like part guards to guard
by what load? But all the big guys they went hide.
They want to wear no low top. They somebody see
the paint with low top, they gonna not get in
the head.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
But see, hey, oh you you're a little older to me,
but you remember Chuck Taylor's guys used to play Chuck Taylor,
get up and down and have no cushion, never twist,
no ankle them like remember them pro kids.

Speaker 3 (53:47):
Yeah, hey, I played Uncle Oka.

Speaker 5 (53:53):
I played with jern Andis with Boots and Philly and Gilly.
Gilly was there too, and they had a celebrity basketball
game I played in. I wore black hot black high tops,
black high top chucks, some Chuck.

Speaker 3 (54:06):
Taylors and they looking at me crazy.

Speaker 5 (54:09):
Everybody else in there, you know what the Kyries and
the Kd's and the Lebron's and the you know in
the Jordans, man, I dropped by twelve out there man
in the pair of Chuck moving and everybody else, well.

Speaker 3 (54:18):
You ain't got your shoes taped up, no, Because when
I'm wearing them.

Speaker 5 (54:22):
Chuck Taylor's I can feel the flow, I can feel everything,
and it just it just it felt so comfortable. And
everybody looking at me like, boys, you crazy, but you're
gonna twist something, say madam, I'm good.

Speaker 3 (54:32):
Doctor Jason Wall, Yeah, Doctor jas By in.

Speaker 2 (54:36):
The days he and then and then they came out
to cars because you know, black when Doctor j everybody
water cons. Ain't nobody wore in the early eighties, Ain't
nobody in the lake in the seventies and the eighties,
ain't nobody wore Nike.

Speaker 3 (54:47):
Nike.

Speaker 2 (54:48):
He didn't take off your joy got there. Everybody wore
to the doctor j kNs. They bore the Magic Johnson weapons.
They wore the live bird weapon. Uh huh, what do
you mean weapon? We brand, I said, because that's what
they called the converse. That's what a magic and a
birds would call the Doctor J doctor j cons, that's.

Speaker 3 (55:06):
What they were heavy. But that's what everybody wore.

Speaker 2 (55:09):
And then with you know, there are a few guys
that wore like Iceman Moses Malone had had Nike contract,
but the converse was the shoe. The only person I
remember wearing Adidas Old correct me if I'm wrong. Was
Kareem Kareem at the top Killer Deaders. He was the
only guy that I saw with with Adidas. Everybody else
normally had converts. And there are a few guys sprinkled

(55:30):
in there that had on nikes.

Speaker 3 (55:33):
Oh did they wear a pony back in the days
pony had back? Yeah, ponies.

Speaker 4 (55:39):
There's a follow blood, Spud Webbs and Robert Paris wore ponies.

Speaker 5 (55:43):
Okay, okay, I remember I had a pair of pony
cleats man as a little kid.

Speaker 4 (55:47):
Man, I had pony clees too, and back then, yeah,
pony was big.

Speaker 3 (55:55):
Back then, they were. They were.

Speaker 4 (55:57):
But you know back then when I was like and
middle school of high school, the posters, so you had
the iceman sitting on the Yeah, that was the poster
was the big was was huge back then.

Speaker 2 (56:12):
I had a bunch of posts. You don't have a
bunch of posters with bird and I had a bunch
of posts with everybody else. They'd probably be worth something now,
but you back then, you did. You was You wasn't
even thinking you wasn't even thinking about gonna be worth something.
My Grandma like, boy, you need to throw that ish
in the trash. Jumping up my house. All right, it's
time to pocket watch for just a second, Michael Porter Jr.

(56:35):
Shake He'll just make the same amount of money thirty
five million, eight hundred and fifty nine thousand, nine hundred
and fifty dollars this year.

Speaker 3 (56:42):
Did you see what you just said? They make the
same amount of and the key words you just said
at the end this year. And that's it because U
s a jig can get three hundred and fifty next year. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (56:56):
Hey, and he fired and he fired his agent, so
he's like, I don't need y'all. I'll not gonna get
four percent when they gonna give me the max. Anyway,
I'll cut you out and keep that for myself.

Speaker 3 (57:06):
Aoki worth every penny. Yeah, oh yeah, worth every penny.

Speaker 1 (57:11):
Man.

Speaker 5 (57:12):
Hey, you know who you play like to? He's so smooth. Yeah,
he's so smooth, like no jerky movements, you know what
I mean? Just everything just.

Speaker 3 (57:24):
Flowed like water the way you play.

Speaker 4 (57:26):
I know, the clipper problems they're still hadn't Yeah, if
you're the if you're if you're to believe what Doc said.

Speaker 2 (57:34):
Doc said that he went to Kawhi and said, you
need to give this guy a chance.

Speaker 4 (57:39):
Kawhi wanted somebody that was already proven, which was Paul George.
So that's why they moved him to Okay c. They
traded him in Gallinari and those all those first round
picks and those pig swaps because you gotta realize, say
it was only in Hiss like first or second maybe
his first or second year.

Speaker 2 (57:59):
Yeah, so now I gotta get I want to get.
It's the same thing when Lebron got to Cleveland. They's like,
oh no, He's like, no, I don't want to go
get killing, go get Kelly.

Speaker 4 (58:10):
But Wiggas ain't that way and said no, he ain't shake.
They both from Canada, but he ain't shape.

Speaker 3 (58:17):
He said he very Barry from Canada too. Oh yeah, yeah.
They got a lot of guys.

Speaker 2 (58:25):
You know, you think about it, Dylan Brooks, Nim Hard
or Murray, Shaye Powell.

Speaker 3 (58:31):
They got Barrett, Joe the kids play for what's the
name to the point god uh Joe? Suh? You think
is Joe? No, No, he played. He's been around the
lead about twelve years.

Speaker 4 (58:44):
Okay, yeah, yeah, yah, I know you're talking about what
matter fact thought it from Miami that thing? Okay, yeah,
but your team what they try to do is it
for the All Star Right.

Speaker 3 (58:53):
Yeah, they're gonna try to make it the US against
the world. Then they're gonna kill the US.

Speaker 4 (59:00):
Hey they got the best player.

Speaker 2 (59:03):
When you think about it, they got they got Yiannis,
they got Luca, they got Shay.

Speaker 3 (59:09):
But well, uh say the song. Yeah, but you know
what Luca, look, he'd come off the bed. He Oh hey,
that's a good thing too.

Speaker 5 (59:21):
Now you understand how the viewership has declined when it
comes to the All Star Game. Now you want to
now you want to make it interesting and you want
I want people to watch shoot the US a versus
the world.

Speaker 2 (59:34):
Want all they do is the shooting threes. I don't
want to see that. I don't want to see no
two hundred to one, No, no, no, and web no.
I think I think they might get.

Speaker 4 (59:44):
A little more traction out of that because, yeah, because
the US guys and then you know, the UF PAN guy,
the US PAN guy is.

Speaker 3 (59:52):
Definitely gonna play harder the US guy.

Speaker 4 (59:55):
Might You might have to hear him in the head
a couple ofs that like, oh wow, they better coming
at us, So they might have to.

Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
Wake us up and going, yeah, y'all First of all,
Joki already said the All Star Game doesn't doesn't suit
his fancy. But Joannis, y'all have tried to get trying
to score sixty. Y'all going to the basket all the time.

Speaker 3 (01:00:15):
You're coming to play. You mind me of.

Speaker 5 (01:00:19):
When Adrian Peters used to make the Pro Bowl and
they think he's gonna go out there and play in lotigag.

Speaker 3 (01:00:26):
Full speed, in Hawaiian full speed.
