Speaker 1 (00:01):
The volume, we have our NBA Finals matchup.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Indiana Pacers are going to the NBA Finals for the
first time since two thousand one five one oh eight.
They had seven guys in double figures. It was just
too much to flurry. The Knicks played well as long
as they could, kept the games as close as they could,
but it.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Was just too much.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
They just have too much firepower for them, and they're
going to the NBA Finals to face the OKC Thunder.
Thanks to a one twenty one o eight victory, they
take care of the New York Knicks in eight games.
In six gamescuse the eight game damn that would be
something his six games.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Then they out.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
The places have done it. They put seven guys on Joe.
We talked about them being a team by committee. You
never knowscal Siakam showed up and you look at the
games in which he played extremely well.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
The games were not close when he did not play well.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
The Knicks one and Tyreese Halliburton had a phenomenal night
again twenty one points, thirteen assists, six rebounds. You know
he turned finally he turned the ball over. But he
was great. Them was unbelievable. His defense was sensation. Nie
Smith played well. I thought the difference in the ball
game was guys and Dwight. I don't know what you think.

(03:28):
I thought TV Thomas Bryant coming off the bench. He
had three big threes. Oh show he blocked the shot.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
I mean his.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
President in Odi Thomas he was all over the players.
I thought they played well watching this game. What do
you think what was the major reason that the Pacers
were able to win this series? They weren't favored in
any of the series, but they ended up winning and
going to the NBA Finals, and they make quick work
of teams that were seen higher than them and was
favored over them. Why were the Pacers able to win

(03:59):
this series and make it look relatively easy in doing it?

Speaker 3 (04:02):
I would say they're one of the deepest teams outside
of ok See is why they why they've been winning.
They can go one through ten or they can play
the whole anybody from one through ten. They could play
and co out there and be successful. So I think
that's one of the biggest reasons why their offense. You know,
you got Holley, He's gonna give you buckets, He's gonna

(04:22):
get you assist as see Oka man, he is the
difference again.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Yeah, he's the difference maker for me. And I thought
he was aggressive. I thought both guys were aggressive to night.
Remember the other night, Oh, Joe Halliburton was not aggressive.
I think he had two shots at the Haven tonight.
He was nine of seventeen five from the three point line,
one on one from the free throw line, Pascal Siaka
extremely aggressive, ten of eighteen, three or five from the

(04:49):
three point line, eight of eleven from the free throw line.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
He had thirty one points. Nie Smith ten points, Turner
eleven points, Mim Hard fourteen points. Halliburton, as I mentioned
twenty one and thirteen, you had Obie Topping twenty five minutes.
He gave you eighteen.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Thomas Brian TV came in with thirteen minutes, three or
five from the floor, three or four from the three
point line, two or two from the free throw line,
eleven big points.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
And that was the difference in the series.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
All Seri as long, Oh joll We talked about this
their bitch, because they're going to play nine ten guys
every game, it does not matter.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
And you see.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Tim started trying to do that. He started going dabbling
into his bench a little bit more. He played mcbrid
played all along, and then they inserted Robinson, Mitchell Robinson
into the started line up and it brought Josh Hard
off the bench. But you saw Landry Shammit get some
extending minutes. We saw Durrell Wright get extended minutes, and
so that's normally what we see they normally play seven guys,

(05:47):
seven guys, but they started playing eight, nine guys. But
it was not enough because their benches, they they couldn't
get the production to match what Indiana bench was giving.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
You.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Oh till you watch this, and I know you thought
the Knicks we was gonna plull this thing off. Yeah
I did.

Speaker 5 (06:01):
Listen, I love I lost big money too, man, I
lost Dwight. That's what really hurt. That's what really hurt.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
You know. I had a bed with my old lady.

Speaker 5 (06:09):
I had a bed with my girl, man, and and
to me, it's it's it's it's a shame because she
ain't gonna get paid either, But the.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Next I would get my money. Anyway. Now back to
the games, right, I mean, listen, I was hurt. Honestly.

Speaker 5 (06:26):
I wanted the Knicks to pull this off, not just
for not just the basketball team, for the city, for
everything you know New York has been through.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
But I would have loved to see them be back
in that been through, nothing been through.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
You gotta look, I would agree with you if you're
talking about they ain't been.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
There since the seventies I was for and they ain't
been there since.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
They went there. You know, you remember when they went
there was or they lost to Tim Duncan and.

Speaker 6 (06:58):
Then ninety nine ninety nine, Yeah, no with Patrick you
when he missed the finger roll dough.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
That was ninety nine.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
That was that's when the Indiana with that year you remember,
you remember they lost, Remember they lost to a Tim
Duncan there. Look at up ninety nine in Indiana with
the following year and got beat their eyes beat out
by the Lakers.

Speaker 7 (07:26):
But they haven't won since seventy three. N That's that's
that's what I mean, going as once but actually actually winning.
But listen tonight, man, listen the next too many turnovers. Yes,
in order for them to have to win this game tonight.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
Boy Brunson and Cat would have had would have had
to have an out of out of boy the experience.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
I think Bronson was holding on to the basketball too much.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Too long. I heard people talk about that earlier. But
that's the way he's always running with gas.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
It is, but he was tiring himself out and then
nobody else is getting shot up because he holding the
ball and came just trying to drive.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
Yeah yeah, yeah, hey, listen, not the next missing free
throws on they had what I think almost eighteen eighteen plus.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Some turn miss nine free throws. They were seventeen to
twenty six from the free throw line. Listen, and on.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Top of on top of the pacers thrive on fast,
great points and posts turnover. Yes they do. I mean
you watched it. You watched this game, guys.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
By four minutes left in the third quarter, Indiana turned
up their defense and what was the sixth point lead,
all of a sudden it went the double figures. And
from that point on like this, So that defense was
a nim hard knee smith obie past calf. Those guys
were on it from that fourth but the last four
minutes of the third quarter and through that, excuse me,

(08:52):
the third quarter and then into the fourth quarter, their
defense went to another level and they started turning them over,
and all of a sudd what was a six point lead,
it went to fifteen, like in the blink of an eye,
just like that.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
And that's what.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
And on made baskets, I'm like, hold on, wait a minute, Dwight,
I know you're watching this. On Joe, Yeah, the U
two Ojoe, the Knicks would make a basket. They would
pass the ball to Halle he would get the ball
ahead to them hard.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
I mean to.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Aiaia was euro step and so basically from the time
they take the ball out to the ball in the.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Basket in three seconds. Yeah yeah, I mean, I'm like, bro,
y'all can't on a Maine basket. You giving up a
layup or nothing. Boys tired, They tired, They tired, Yah,
they ready to go.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Because the thing was that, Look, I knew after the
first game that the Knicks were in trouble because you
lost and Jaylen Brunston and Cat went crazy. Jaylen Brunson
had forty three, Cat had thirty six, and you still lose.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
So what was the likelihood the White.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
That Jaylen brus was gonna average forty and then and
Cad was gonna average thirty.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
That's what they would have had.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
To do in order to win yere and I just
I just didn't see that happening, especially with the committee
that the Pacers have they're gonna get. When they won,
they had six guys and double figures every time. Find
the same guys. Now they had seven guys in double figures,
and it's hard to defend them because who's their goal

(10:26):
to guy?

Speaker 8 (10:27):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (10:27):
Siakam is it?

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Is it Halle because we saw aaron Ne Smith come
into that game one and make six three pointers in
the last five minutes of the ball game, and we
saw we know Neil actually and when you go back
and think about it, matth Burn really didn't play well
this series. He's one of their better players, especially off
the bench, and you got he got in foul trouble,
so it was really hard for him to get a rhythm.

(10:51):
So there's only really two games in which he played really,
really well. He's due to have a stretcher game. But
I just thought the Knicks at the end, they just
alrady like turn the ball over and the lake they
make a basket and Hall it would get the ball,
he get it ahead to Siakam and he eurostep and
he led it up or he just diving straight to

(11:11):
the basket. I'm like, well, damn, y'all, y'all don't y'all
don't want to stop that. Y'all know gonna make her miss.
They're looking to push tempo and that's what the problem is.
And Tim might have did this too late. Dwight, Tim
live what you think? Because Tim he grinds these guys
down in the regular Seaton and damn grind them down
in the postseason. And when you play the first three games,
first two games, and you got guys playing forty four

(11:34):
forty six and they went in the overtime playing all
those minutes, it's hard. Once you start extending that series,
it's gonna get harder for them guys to have them
legs because they go every other day.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
You can tell they was tired.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
You can tell you if you watch Mitchell Robinson when
he got in the game, it was a he started
out with a great burst of entity. He'd have big moments,
but then he'll start lagging behind those defense. He'll come
in laid on plays and stuff like that, so he
can tell these guys didn't have no legs. So, man,
Tim's gotta I think he gotta start playing this bench.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
A little bit. But I know he don't really, he
don't really like players bench. But he was like that
in Chicago he got him in trouble. He liked that.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
In Minnesota he liked that. He liked that in the Knicks.
He grind those guys. I mean, you only got so
much in your legs. You grind a guy you playing
guys thirty nine and forty minutes in the regular season.
He true, Nah, And then come playoffs, it's even more
because you gotta focus even more. So that burns even
more energy out of it. And so now you playing
concentrated minutes and you playing forty plus minutes a night.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
Now, do I agree with you, Dwight on that he's
gonna have to play. He's gonna have to trust.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
That's what it comes down to, because you could throw
guys in there, but he doesn't trust his bench. He
trusted them for a handful of games and they and
they served him well. But tonight they just didn't have it.
They just didn't have it tonight. And I thought that
at the half the game, the first half, the Knicks
couldn't script it any better. We got a game if
only a four point game. Yeah, those teams are in

(13:00):
the fifty So if we extrapolate and double that up,
that's one hundred and eight hundred and ten.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
But they're gonna get sixty seven in the second half. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
And Deiana is one of those teams though that and
don't they could eat down twenty points and come back
and win the game.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
So it's like, if you gonna beat them, you gotta
put them away. You can't play with them. They just asked.
Then they found out gave one first hand.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Yeah, they'll have.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
They had him down by fourteen. It was in the
fourth quarter, under five minutes. Uh, look at this percentage.
They shot fifty four percent from the floor, They shot
fifty two percent from the three.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
They were sixteen of nineteen from the three point line.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
On the flip side, Uh, the Knicks were forty eight
percent from the floor, twenty eight percent from the three,
and sixty five percent from the free throw line.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
There's only two.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
There's only two people that could have helped the next night,
and they might have had a chance. I don't know
if they the one, they might have had a chance
to win.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
We have the one that that one I'm thinking about.
He didn't. I had never seen him play. I never
heard of him playing basketball. That was Jesus. I say
that I was. I did. I was just about to
say that.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
I don't see. There ain't no mention in the Bible.
You know, I thought a scholar, I feel logit on
some biblical scholar. But I don't know if I've seen
any reference to him in basketball, And so I guess
I guess you be what you will take. Jordan, maybe
Patrick Ewett? Who else willis reed? Rest his soul? Clyde Frazier.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (14:36):
That.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
God damn.

Speaker 5 (14:37):
I mean Brunson didn't have have a game he needed
to have in order for them to have a chance
to Night nor neithered.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
They cat but that got the nim Hard. Nim Hard
did a hell of a job tonight man.

Speaker 5 (14:47):
Oh yeah, nim Hard and he made him very difficult.
But Jayleenson to really do anything, find any rhythm.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
Picky they taking him up.

Speaker 5 (15:00):
Oh so now I got a question for you, for
you and Dwight, Now that we know who's in the finals, now,
based on the matchup, the styles, the benches, who do
we have winning and why?

Speaker 1 (15:13):
I'm just curious man.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
Okay, I mean, okay See. He has been the best team.
They've been the best team all year. They've had the
best player this year. They're deep, just like like you said,
I mean, both teams are gonna play nine to ten guys.
But if I had to say defensively, I think okay
See is a little better defensively.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
They got six guys. Uh. It starts with Dord and.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Jaylen Williams, and they come in with Wiggins and Wallace
and and and Carusoe Isaiah Joe, and they got those
two big guys that can protect. They get after you.
It's gonna be I think it's gonna be a better
series than people think.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Now. Look, I know everybody, Dwight. Everybody wanted the Knicks.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
They're like, man, okay see, and Indiana, hey, you should
have told the Knicks to play better. And man, the
Lakers all want big market teams, the big market teams
that playoff. You should have did what you're supposed to
do and then we wouldn't have had this problem. But
we got what we got now. But for me, I think, okay, see,
it is a little deeper. I think they're a little better.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Dwight, who you got, well, I can't, Oh, Jo, I
gotta do this.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
He's been in a couple of days. What we gotta
predict the winner. But what I will say is this,
I like both of these teams in the finals. Like
like Ung said, I think it's want to go. You
want This is going to be one of those finals
that is gonna be really good because both of these
teams are some real teams. They play they bit. They

(16:39):
got great coaches. Yeah, and they play up and down.
They can slow the pace down. They got well, you
don't know who could be the go to guy for Indiana,
like Hunk said, but man, it's gonna be a good finals.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
And I think the thing is is that look, okay,
see you know who that guy is. This Shay He's
gonna get his shots. Jaylen Williams has played really well
the last two games. He's starting around in the shape
to look like the guy that was an All NBA selection,
an All Star. He's starting to look like that now.
Shae his throwing car. He's like, damn, efficiency, I'm gonna

(17:16):
get my shots up. Either they gonna go in or
you're gonna file. But I'm getting to the free throw line.
But I Am not going to look back and say, man,
I wasn't aggressive enough. He's aggressive as hell. And Boyne
Smith he thought he had his work cut out for
him dealing with a Jaylen Bronson.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
He got another guy. Oh yeah, just a little bigger
than Bronson. That's six ft.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
I mean, Bronson might be six I'm being kind maybe six' one,
but you're talking about a guy that's six seven.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
He's the MVP and he exudes confidence. Now he below me.
And that's the thing.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
When a guy wins the MVP, Dwight, there's something like
when you won that Defensive Player of the Year award,
You're like, I'm supposed to win this thing every year,
every year, every year, and you have that mindset. Shade
got that mindset. Now I'm an m v P. I
kind of like people talking about me. I'm in, I'm in,
ok see, and they got to talk about us now
because of what I've done. Is gonna be a mem

(18:11):
hard uh niece Smith. Those guys got their hands full.
They're gonna have to be on their best. They're gonna
make it. They're gonna make it difficult for Shay though.
I think they're gonna pick him up full court just
like they did Bronx.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
You got to, yeah, you know what you know got
to you know.

Speaker 5 (18:34):
You know what's funny is I think most basketball enthusiasts,
puns analysts, like you guys that really know the game
extremely well.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
I think most of you guys are are picking the
Thunder the win.

Speaker 5 (18:46):
And I don't know why, just inside, for some reason,
I have a I have a feeling that the Pacers
are gonna win because they seem to be the underdog
in this situation. Every do the whole exactly, and everybody's
doing it again. Everybody's doing the guards of who they're playing.
They refuse to pick the pacers for I don't know.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
I mean, I think the thing is, Look when you
talk about Okay, see they were the best team. They
won sixty eight games. I mean, the Western Conference was
sold up so so long ago. They have one of
the best players in the NBA, to have a top
five player in Shae. They play out standing defense. They
got I'm talking about their wing guys with Caruso and
dor and Jalen Williams and Carson and Wiggins and Wallace,

(19:30):
Isaiah Joe. They got six seven guys the White that
can defend at an elite level. And you got a
check protecting the rim, and you got a guy that's
top the top three, top four and Steve steals in shape.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
They get a lot of deflection.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
They do a great job of passing, playing pass lanes,
they do a great job of helping.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
They do a great job of funneling, and they know
what they're vulnerable. We've got to make the Indiana player
and to half of course, that we cannot let them
get up and down.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
We're gonna make them play. We're gonna make you execute
at a half court set. And if you execute time
and time and time again, you hey, you know you
like you like that transition to wait be cause you
want some easy baskets. It gets hard to execute every
single time down the floor and you gotta run set.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
It gets hard, right, But that's what OKC forces their
opponents to do.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
I mean, you're gonna get some I mean it's hard
to step somebody from getting zero points in transition, but
they're gonna make it difficult. Tyre's Halliburton in the fourth
quarter eleven fourth quarter points. He had twenty one total points,
six rebounds, thirteen and cents, three steals.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Hey, overrate that overrate that?

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Hey, I think that I don't know voted said like
twelve guys voted. I don't know who those twelve guys was.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
Over rate that.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
I think they need to take that out. I think
that's disrespectful to all the players in the league to
sit and vote against somebody that's your awn. Like we're brotherhood,
we're in fraternity. So it's like, I think that you know,
pushing that type of you know, overrated player. Yeah, that
kind of narrative is bad, man.

Speaker 5 (21:05):
Honestly, me and uncle was talking about it when it
came out, and I'm thinking about, you know, when they
talk about players in the NFL when they do the
top fifty or top one hundred, and I'm as long
as I played, I never ever voted for anything like that.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
So you played the game for a long time. At
any point of your career, did you ever vote for players?

Speaker 3 (21:23):
I do like if we do the team stuff like
one of the best teammates and stuff like that, but
that on the court, on the course. That's why I
think that stuff is made up by media.

Speaker 6 (21:34):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
I don't really, I don't.

Speaker 5 (21:35):
I don't think it's and did they just say it's
the players, oh the vote, They say the player said it.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
But I think it's not about the media. I don't know.
I don't know why. I don't like that. Man K
what's his name? Just lost?

Speaker 6 (21:48):
Man?

Speaker 1 (21:50):
Yeah, man, he got knocked out. He went down. It
just ended. Damn uh uh. Guess what, guys, what happened.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
The Eastern Conference Larry Bird winner is Pascal Siakam, Tyrese
Halliburton was second in points, first, in rebounds first and
assists first, and steals first. In starts, he was tied
with threes. Pascal Siakam received five first place votes. Tyrese
Halliburton received four. Dwight uh arch Burner of NBA dot

(22:30):
Com had Halliburton, Tim von temps Uh had Pascal Siakam,
Jamal Caryer had Tyre's Halliburton. Uh In after Star Wars
Reporter had Pascal Siakam, Katie George It's Been Radio had
Pascal Siakam, Fred Katz, The Athletic had Pascaliakam, Reggie Miller,
ty and t Pas, Tyrese Halliburton, Steve Popper, News Daycam,

(22:53):
Joe Varden the Athletic, Tyrese Halliburton. It could have got
it could have. I mean if you go back and look,
you look at the game. I mean those thoughts, I mean,
both of.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
Those guys are so important to the to the success
of the team.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
Yeah, but you go back and you what was that
game one Tyree's I mean that game he had thirty
nine with a game two.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
That was in the game four.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
He had another thirty point games and then tonight he
had another thirty point game. But look if they if
Halla Burton had a won, I wouldn't have been disappointed.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
I'm not. I'm not.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
I mean, I can make a case. I can make
a compelling argument for either guy. Somebody had to win
because guess what happened. Glad you had it nine had
nine people before, because you had ten, you probably got
a tie. And then they had to split the ward
and then nobody wont those split awards, especially today's game.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
But congratulations the passcal siaka.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
I mean, but Halle came. Well look at look at
what Halle had on when he was in the tunnel.
Now he looked like he was coming to play. I mean,
like this here you have to look he tweet. I
think he is still said, hey see you packed to
come back to New York.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
Go Halle go Halle go. Handling had that ain't number.
That's that's the funeral outfit on. Yeah, well he ba
hey when he buried this man, damn man. Hey, I'm
i'm I'm a rule for the I'm a rule for
the Pacers. I'm rooted for the under dog.

Speaker 5 (24:22):
I'm rootle for the Pacers only because they're closer Cincinnati
right down.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
The Street, I'm rooted for you to pay me my money.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
This is gonna be one of the best finals. Man,
it's gonna be a doom.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
I mean, Halliberd was trying to pull a Lebron he
tried to leave, or Yoki trying to lead his team
and everything. I mean, he was second in points, he
was first in rebounds or see it still stocks first,
and he was tied for for threes. But Pascal look
like I said those games, I mean pat Game two
Pascal was huge, thirty nine big points, and then he

(24:57):
followed that up in game four with boom a big
another big night, and he followed up again the thirty
one point and every time they tried to make a run,
Pascal would make a play, either with a rebound, it
was a big two point shot or a three point shot.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
So I ain't mad at him. I mean the man a.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
He hit the guy who probably held that thing together
because you know what a fan of Dwhight, he had
championship sperience.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
He's on my twenty nineteen Toronto team.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
I was just about to say that, man, he has
been here before, you know, so he knows exactly what
it takes to win.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
He has that experience. He has that championship pedigree.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
This is why he was highly sought after coming from
coming to Torontoto. So, man, that's like I was saying
before we got old. He went in there and saying, listen,
I'm the captain now, hey, but I like looking at me.
Look at it, hey, Irish, look at me. Yeah, he was,

(25:58):
and you know they look, they tried to give him
a hard time. There was a reporter ask him, like,
what happened in game five? And he said, they just
played hard. It wasn't that we didn't play hard. They
played hard. Bet some point, somebody's gotta win. Yeah, I mean,
and sometimes you can play your hardest. But it didn't
look like they came out.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
Look, and the way the Knicks came out tonight, you
can tell it was a sense of desperation. They were really,
really desperate because I don't want you celebrated. Look, I
don't want you celebrated at all, but I damn sure
don't want you celebrating in my house.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
You're not finished through no birthday party for somebody else
at my house.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
Nahoo, take that bait down to the YMCA, but you
ain't celebrating here. So they got them back, and you know,
he's like, bro, I don't know where you're going with this.
They just hey, hey, it happened. It is basketball. Sometimes
the team played, they play, you know, they get the
loose balls, they make some shots.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
They played harder than you. It's not that we didn't
play hard. They played harder. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
And now it'd be interesting to see what the what
the reporter has to say about Pascal performance tonight and
being the Larry Bird the Eastern Conference m VP of
the Eastern Conference Finals.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
That's so tough. Congrats to pass down. Man. Oh, it
was the guy. Guy. It was the guy last year,
the guy banned from covering Caitlyn Clark.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
Yeah, he's doing that on purpose. Start because he's said
something slick. He was something slick about yeah yeah yeah, yeah, yeah,
yeah yeah yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
Okay, he's doing that on purpose.

Speaker 5 (27:23):
He's purposely he's he's purposely created those moments, the same
one remember when Jim Rome purpose Yeah yeah, he's doing
the thing they clipped for me. Yeah yeah, he's purposely
creating those moments.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
The thing is old. Look I didn't I didn't.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
I didn't go to journalism school, but I know as
a reporter You're not supposed to be a part of
the story. Your job is to cover what you see,
talk about what you saw, but never become a part
of the story.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
And sometimes that happens.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
Guy has become a part of the story, and he
tried to make himself a part of the story. Just
like look Caitlyn doing that gesture to our boyfriend or
whoever she was doing it to, bro Why would you
fix your mouth to add telling about if you, if you,
if she did it, if he did it to you,
why you do it when you do it back to her? Man,
stop it you. You never insert yourself in a situation
like that. But I'm glad for Pascal. I'm happy that

(28:18):
he played extremely well tonight. He's played extremely well in
the series. But Soda Tallary Saliburton. That's not to take
it anything away from Halle, because Halle had nothing to
be hanging his head about. I thought Halley was unbelievable.
He's the captain. He's the captain. He steers everything, but
heay so make sure everybody's in place. He's always hey,
he gets up, all his head is up. He looking
to get an easy one. And but they went it tonight.

(28:41):
The Indianapolis Pace and the Indiana Pacers. Indiana Pacers are
going to the NBA Finals. Coach, a, you ain't played
the whole night. Coach, Hey, Dwight, going to get in there,
go get this last.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
If I'm on the knees the Placers.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
Oh, if I'm on the team right now, yeah, oh,
he said, go with fifteen second, little, you're gonna get.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
That fifteen of you go get that d day Hey, how.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
Hey Howard, I would say, coach, when you want me
to go in or you want me to see what
the crowd, I might go on the try.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
Yeah, I go in the game in fifteen say you're
gonna go get that last. Hey, oh Joe, that's like, hey,
they put you in for the nil down.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
I'm good. I'm good. Nah, I'm gonna be kneeling on
the sideline. That's not it. If I'm on the Nicks.
Something out. Oh So if you're on the winning team,
you're gonna go to get the fifteen second.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
I'm good, I would saying, coach, Man, i'm'na be stunning
just like the rest of them had you got up.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
Yeah, but hey, they try to put me in the
nil down, sayd Coach the next time I go taking me,
we're gonna be saying the prayer inside of the locker room.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
That's the next time I'm thinking they've been nod coach.
I'm good that disrespect.

Speaker 9 (30:08):
But I mean, hey, everybody, I mean, hold on, everybody
got in. Nah, you can't, that's too late. You might
as well keep him in for fifteen seconds. Somebody, somebody
played all season. You're gonna put them in for fifteen
sixes in the game. That's a sign of that's disrespectful.
What's the colic that it?

Speaker 2 (30:28):
PJ and Campaign was the only two that didn't get
in for the Knicks, and Jackson and Bradley were the
only two that didn't get in for the Pacers.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Guess what, Hey, I'm going there.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
You know what, I'm gonna go in because thirty five
years from now, when I'm telling my grandkids, they don't know, Hey,
you know your poppa got in there here for five
quick points.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
They're gonna go back and look at the video. Man,
they got it now.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
It's hey, hold on, hey, hey man, you know your
pop got it? A rebound, a reap out to get
in the sense or something right.

Speaker 5 (31:03):
Everything I do NBA players obviously NBA players having centers
in that contracts as well.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
You think maybe him going into that that short amount
of time might have.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Triggered in sentive Man probably having sent it, if you
if you want to play, if you play, if you
you want to if you go to the NBA Finals
or something like that, you get an MVP award, Defensive
Player of the Year award like that, But not know
if I get in the game and the NB.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
No, hell noah, that's totally disrespectful. What logical reason is
it to put someonemen in the game? Let me get
Let me get that burn I've been practicing.

Speaker 4 (31:38):
You can't eat get loose.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
The other team just but I need I need twenty
seconds to get to get loose. You got fifteen seconds.
But by the time I get stretched, the game gonna
be over. Coach Man, I mean so tight for real.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
I know, I was just saying I'd be so mad
at the coach really trying to put me in a
game with fifteen Say, I.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
Might take the ball and throw it in the stage.
You know what you hey going. Let me let me
tell you. I don't know what's worse, but these might
have to be the two worst things is for a coaster.

Speaker 5 (32:11):
Ask you to go in the game with ten seconds
or just a little bit of time on the clock,
or when you was a little kid and you got
picked last and pe most of them is a quips.
That's but hearing the thing. There ain't no footage of
me getting picked last.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
They getting picked last, and while you're bull driving they,
there ain't no footage you be going in there with
no kids seconds on the clock doing no kneel down neither.
So I've covered either way. But I mean some guys like, hey,
I got at least I got in the game, man,
I used to be howg it was when you growing
up in little league? I mean everybody did, playing the
full play all the minutes like you and I Dwight

(32:50):
have played that. You Sometimes kids just get the game.
Hey son, gonna get in there and be happy?

Speaker 1 (32:57):
Be happy?

Speaker 6 (32:57):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (32:58):
Yeah, because that's the only way you and the former
get You go go home with a clean you and
form again.

Speaker 4 (33:05):
Just to get out there. Man, No, don't put your
kid out there for ten seconds, man, fifteen second, that's
over it.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
Don't let him sit on the sideline. Check this out.
The last two teams to trade Paul George Or in
the NBA Finals, Indiana traded him for Victor Oladipo to
Okay C ok C traded him to the Clippers for
Shay Gilgers. Ain't that that that that that? I mean, hey,

(33:37):
that ain't a bad deal that that that did? That
that did all right? Yeah, that word both for both parties,
both parties. Yeah, yeah, it's out.

Speaker 5 (33:44):
It's working out well. But listen, I'm gonna I'm gonna
give you one. I'm gonna give you one. And and
in soccer terms, for that, so PHG one Champions League today, right, yeah, yeah,
not so long ago. Ps PSG had three of what
I would like to consider some of the best players

(34:04):
in the world at Messi. They had Aymar and they
had in Bape the reason that Bape leaves Messi's down
here in inner Miami. Theymar is that Santos right now,
if I'm not mistaken, obviously after tearing this a cl
in Saudi and obviously it's it's a new team. They
got a young nineteen year old I don't know how
to pronounce his last name, his French last name, Doe

(34:27):
or Doy something like that, and they just won Champions
League today.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
But they couldn't even sniff a champions league obviously with
all that talent on them. These ain't just know anybody.

Speaker 5 (34:39):
We talk about the Krim, that La Krim when it
comes to players all on one team, right, and they
just happened like that.

Speaker 1 (34:45):
I don't I don't know. I understand how many how
many leagues?

Speaker 2 (34:49):
You think, how many championship if you think they did
won if they have hadmar Ronaldo and Messi the fame
because they the same, Messi and Ronaldo basically do the same,
they're not gonna win.

Speaker 5 (35:03):
You gotta have, you gotta have, you gotta balance it out. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
and that's that's what they have. A ballot team. Yeah,
back back to front. Anyway, I didn't mean to bring
sock up my bad, but anyway, you see.

Speaker 2 (35:15):
The Knicks fan the Knicks fans already jinks they had
Game seven hats made. Y'all see that? Can you We
got that up on the screen. Let me get one
of them. I put another seven on it, Game seventy seven.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
I wanted to do that. Come on, Knicks, that's crazy
not to name y'all.

Speaker 2 (35:44):
Guess what it will be some third world country they
get some nice Game seven hats. They'll get all the
paraphernesia that was supposed to be for the Knicks, just
like they got what was supposed to be for the
Chiefs had they won. That goes to third world countries.
Somebody gonna get some nice War World theories. The Yankees
World Series gear from last year.

Speaker 1 (36:03):
Hey, it ain't even gotta go to no third world country.
Just give me a couple of hats over here. I
stay in the country. Let me get a colored you
the Game seventh hat everywhere, the Game seven half with
the outfit. They gonna be like, when you this code
the game center, We're like, man, I don't remember. I
just got the head three.

Speaker 2 (36:29):
Yeah that was the last game seventy seventy three. Yeah, exactly.
Oh man, Man, Spike probably sick, he's so tired. He
Fela make a movie Steve A my dog stephen A.
I know he's throwing up right now.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
Heroadline, I Finela go away now.

Speaker 8 (36:46):
Hey, you know, honestly, there's really nothing to feel that
bad about when you get that close for Joe oh yo, okay,
because you know idea, Hey, when you at least we
got there, that don't work no more, right, right right, listen,
they'll be back next year. They're not gonna make it
this far because the Heat is gonna be the Heat.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
But you know he's gonna be a whole new team. No, no, no,
and plus do I ain't heard the news yet. What's
the news? Each of my going to the Heat? And
John morn.

Speaker 5 (37:24):
Yeah, yeah yeah, I got a way to after the
playoffs anyway, So bingo, bingo.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
I listened.

Speaker 5 (37:31):
I sat down with Mickey Harrison and Pat Radley and Sposure,
so all of them coming. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's gonna be.
I can't say nothing. But as for the teams in
the works to get this thing, happened.

Speaker 1 (37:47):
In the meantime in between times. We got the Big
Three basketball this So I'm playing in the Big Three
this year. So on your team on.

Speaker 3 (37:59):
Okay, okay, okay, oh you with Jeff T's on your team, right,
Jeff T, Jordan Crawford, Wesley Johnson, Elizah Stewart, Yes, sir,
I like that.

Speaker 4 (38:13):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (38:13):
Yeah, you're gonna be shooting four pointerers. Really, I'm gonna
be I'm trying to win. I'm trying to win, man,
I'm trying to win.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
What you got to get one full pointer. I mean, hey,
just tell them for every fifth rebound, I'm shooting the
four poinner.

Speaker 1 (38:29):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (38:31):
I like that, But I'm trying to win. I ain't
trying to play around. And yeah, I'm trying to go
ahead and win this big three. Y'all see the start
June fourteen, Oh y'all run, yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:45):
Yeah, many, Oh Joe, you see them tickets? They wanted
half a million dollars for court side tickets for game seven.

Speaker 1 (38:53):
Yeh wait.

Speaker 5 (38:54):
They weren't even at the garden though, I mean, yeah,
gonna be were gonna be back at the garden.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
Oh you're saying, oh, if they came back to game seven? Okay,
hold hold, hold on, I ain't here that half a million.

Speaker 2 (39:11):
Two tickets were half a million. Quarter each ticket was
two hundred and fifty thousand a piece.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
Now, who who? Who could afford that? A lot of
people in New York?

Speaker 5 (39:20):
Boy, climb out time time, Let's listen. I know we
all got money, right, let let's let's just come back down.

Speaker 2 (39:30):
I got that kind of money, Okay, playing for five
or a fo dollars, I'm playing. I'm getting to Jersey.
I'm getting shrieking.

Speaker 1 (39:39):
The game but he just said, how mean. He said,
this is.

Speaker 4 (39:42):
People who can afford those tickets, and we just said, yeah,
some people in New York that can afford the tickets.

Speaker 1 (39:50):
Yeah, there weal Weald.

Speaker 5 (39:53):
Listen, who in the hell in this world, in this economy,
right right, right now, right listen to me, now, stay
with me, can afford five hundred grand to throw away
five and the grid?

Speaker 1 (40:04):
Not throw away?

Speaker 5 (40:05):
You have to actually love the game of basketball to
pay twenty fifty thousand dollars ticket for a twelve basketball game,
and then you lose or you win.

Speaker 1 (40:14):
Either way it goes. You have to hope you win
game seven and five. Find go down.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
He but look here, New York City has more billionaires
and millionaires than any other city in the world.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
So there are a lot of mofos that could afford
five thousand dollars. Hold on, hold on, huh. New York
has the most billionaires and millionaires. Yep.

Speaker 5 (40:52):
The funny thing about it is the people that had
that kind of wealth, that kind of wealth to say, oh,
here's five and a grand, and it ain't the ones
who are the millionaires, No, they're the billionaires being go.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
Yeah, I mean, but what what was the game for
them them tickets in Game five was like seventy thousand
a ticket for courts at the guard.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
Yes, seventy thousand a piece.

Speaker 2 (41:22):
Yes, yeah, but that's the closer you get this, and
the and the closer you get the center court, the
more expensive they are.

Speaker 10 (41:30):
Hey, center court right here? You see the TV back
down right, that's center court. You know, I'm not gonna
spend that much money on no basketball game. Think about
what the think about what people pay for the sweets
at the super Bowl. They paying a million, two billion.

Speaker 1 (41:47):
Dollars for a sweet you got. This is different though,
the super Bowl is your team. What happened? You paid
two million dollars? Your team lost? But hey, this is
this is the whole point.

Speaker 5 (41:58):
The people in the super Bowl aren't even the real fans. Yeah,
it's a big event, that's a celebrity event. Responsors. They
bring in all the famous and rich people they can
afford that. Those are couple of sweet what bill you there?

Speaker 2 (42:14):
You know a Knicks fan. He ain't got no nigga
gear on. They just doing that just because they got money.
Say hey, because a lot of time you go to
an event like that.

Speaker 1 (42:22):
I was there. It's like you when you paid that
money to see Jordan hit that shot in Utah, you
never know or I was there with something when Bad
Bonds broke the record. You play all that money A
lot of times, you paid for the opportunity to say
that I was there. I was there, that's it. Yeah. Yeah,
uh creating creating memories, creating memories. I can create memories
without spending that kind of money.

Speaker 2 (42:43):
Yeah, half of me, I mean half a million dollars.
Like I said, for half of me, they canna put
me in the game. Somebody, some team is gonna.

Speaker 1 (42:50):
Put me in the game. I'm going in the game myself.
If I spend that much, I'm just walking the course.
Give me.

Speaker 5 (42:58):
If there's a game seven on. Yeah, And you know
I would never spend that kind of money. But if
I just did for for whatever reason, and I would
have to create content and I would become part of
history because I'm gonna streak the court. I'm gonna street
the court. I'm gonna run out there, flap the back. Yes,
what then you ain't gonna be able to see the
whole game. The game I just said, I'm gonna spend

(43:24):
that kind of money. I'm gonna be a part of history.
That's the whole that, that's the whole point. On camera,
they get your on camera, Bill, they get your camera.
I mean you spend that kind of money, you court side.
I mean look, and then they make sure the camera,
they make sure the cameras get you. I mean look,
I saw Cali Jenner and and shall the uh challa

(43:49):
may uh. I saw Kaitlyn Clark and Boston, I saw
Mike Epps anybody. I mean look, first of all, it
ain't like any I mean, they got John Cougar, Mellen Camp,
they got Mike Camps, and they got Kaitlyn Clark.

Speaker 1 (44:04):
That's about it. Man, Peyton live in Denver. I like,
it ain't like New York. It's not like l A.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
In l A NBA Finals, you're gonna see the who's who.
They're all coming out. Yeah, from Denzel to I'm talking
about who big, big, big, big, big dogs. Oh they're finish.
Come out of Indiana.

Speaker 1 (44:26):
Now it's.

Speaker 4 (44:29):
Indiana, man, come on, it's up man, everybody's coming out.

Speaker 1 (44:35):
Let me ask you a question.

Speaker 2 (44:37):
What stars you see in the Western Conference Finals that
was at A that was at a OKC.

Speaker 1 (44:45):
Nobody exactly exactly. No, I'll say the same Chris Tu
same thing with Minnesota. Who they got. I mean, unless
you're gonna bring out Jenna, you're gonna bring got Jenna. Yeah.
I mean the market is New York and it's l A.

(45:05):
It is what it is. You know, it is what
it is. You're right, that is true.

Speaker 2 (45:11):
Now Atlanta, Now you're gonna see a now Atlanta, you know,
and they're gonna have from boozing the baby to a
uh d C. I mean, everybody that somebody pusher gonna
be at the gate. But other places just don't have them.
This doesn't have they don't have it like that in
the other look. And that's not a knock, but I

(45:33):
mean there's not a whole lot of celebs that lives
in the Midwest.

Speaker 1 (45:36):
They just don't.

Speaker 5 (45:37):
And you know the l A that when when you
think about l A is different. We talk about the elites. Yes,
about the A list. Yeah, you will see whole.

Speaker 2 (45:48):
Yeah, you would see whole and Beyonce at a Knicks
or the NBA if it was in l A. You
see them. You would see that level of celebrity. You'll
see a problem a Drake something you you see like that.
But man, I ain't going no, I ain't going no
in the no. Okay, see y'all, I like it. I

(46:09):
like both Indian Okay, I'm going to India to just
to go to care country kitchen. I'm gonna get the
fried catf you know, count your kitchen, man, I know fifty.

Speaker 1 (46:22):
I go down all the time. I got my pitch
on the wall. They don't. They don't do me in.
I'm a I'm a regular. I pitch you up there
a country kitchen too. Now I know I'm a regular
cuntry kitchen. They already know what I'm gonna get. I'm
gonna get get some of everything.

Speaker 5 (46:34):
That ain't been that in a minute man, man, yeah,
every time. There's not been one time I've been to
Indy that I haven't gone by. You been to Saint Elmos,
I have yeah. Yeah that that horse, Radish, that thing
caught me. I don't like that horse right.

Speaker 1 (46:52):
Put my yeah over. Yeah, I'm good with that.

Speaker 2 (46:57):
The Minnesota Timberwolves are reportedly looking the trade for an
alpha and are expected to pursue Kevin de rad per.

Speaker 1 (47:06):
Amiko Hoops. The Timberwolves need another alpha.

Speaker 2 (47:09):
Next to Edwards to win it all, which is why
my Why sources told Hoops why that Minnesota is expected
to pursue the red and the trade again this obfseason.
They try to get him at the trade deadline, but
KD made it a budtly clear he doesn't want to leave.
You know, it's a lot that comes along here and
let's hey, let's get a trading cap. Uh, it's what
you think, Dwhite, Do they do they have the pieces

(47:33):
in order to pull it off.

Speaker 1 (47:35):
I don't know. Consider what they gave up to get
go Bear. I don't know if they got the pieces.

Speaker 2 (47:40):
I mean what I mean, all you got is Jade
McDaniels and Julius Redderd is a free agent man, Yes, Ben, dude,
that's tough. I'm just trying to think Walker. I think
he's a free agent. So I'm just trying to see
the thing is all that sounds good in theory. Now

(48:03):
we're looking at it Dwhight, No, Joe, we're looking at
it like team the team. Now, if we get to
three four teams involved, now, maybe somebody can swing something.

Speaker 1 (48:13):
But I'm not in the business of helping you get
I'm not in the business helping.

Speaker 3 (48:19):
Yeah, I'm looking at I think that'll really ilp development
by having KD. I think they just need some more shooting.

Speaker 1 (48:35):
I don't know KD will be thirty seven at the
start of the season.

Speaker 2 (48:41):
People ain't giving up a whole lot of guy for
a guy that's thirty seven, that has an injury history.
KD is phenomenal. He's a first ballot Hall of Famer.
He's the greatest Men's Olympic basketball player. He's an MVP,
he is a Finals MVP. No one is questioning his
his resume. The fact of the matter is he's about

(49:01):
to be thirty seven, and he has an injury history
that is not conjectured, that's not in you in though,
that's not speculations.

Speaker 1 (49:08):
Out of those are facts. You know what, Even with
the injury history, based on who it is, I think
they would overlook it. Same reason.

Speaker 5 (49:18):
A small example of Dwight and look at the Steelers. Hell,
Aaron Rodgers has the injury history, but look at his resume,
look at exactly.

Speaker 2 (49:25):
But I ain't got to give up. All I gotta
do is pay a salary. I ain't got to give
up nothing to get it. It'd be a whole different
thing if I got to give up three first rounders
in a second round and the third Okay, okay, all right,
And so that's the thing. And see you look at
think about it. Look at what what when Minnesota gave
up to get Rudy Gobert. Look at what the Knicks
gave up to get Michail Bridges.

Speaker 5 (49:44):
Right, and people automatically think, but Kevin, because of Kadi's
age and his injury history.

Speaker 1 (49:51):
I mean, Michail Bridges had mister gave it what five
six years?

Speaker 2 (49:55):
True, I was shocked that Minnesota gave up what they
gave up to get because he's a one end player.
You don't play the defensive band, and you can't play
him in the fourth quarter unless you play in the Lakers,
and the Lakers don't have a big so you can
leave your dans out there the wrong. But other than that,
you go back and study. Go back and look at
Rudy Gobert when he was in Utah. Go back and

(50:15):
look at Rudy Gobert, not proud of this year, look
at him in the fourth quarter here on the bitch.

Speaker 1 (50:23):
I'm not giving up five first round of for a
guy that I can't play the entirety of the game.

Speaker 3 (50:27):
Right, that's true, But I mean, but then you gotta
think too, like, the reason why they're keeping him is
because he got those four defensive players player of the
Year awards, So doing the regular damn the.

Speaker 1 (50:42):
White I can't play him in the fourth quarter when
I need a defensive player that year on the court.

Speaker 3 (50:46):
You're right, but I'm just thinking how the team is
going to look at it, like, man, I'm producing the
best defensive player that we've seen in history as far
as awards go and stuff like that. And you we
can say people can say that as people who watch
and play, but let's just look at he has that

(51:06):
award four times the impact that he's having on the floor, regardless,
eighty should have got it this year, last year, but
last year, man, but Broudie's impact might not show up
on Wimby.

Speaker 1 (51:22):
On Wemby, I did and played fortyping games.

Speaker 3 (51:27):
That's why I had picked who should have won it
last year. I think, Okay, I won't fight you. Then
that's why I happy. I just think that his presence
is why they keep keep him around. He's seven to
I mean, just think about him seven two. You can't
teach hype, you can't teach the size.

Speaker 1 (51:45):
He can get up teaching was still on the court
in the fourth quarter. Tell me how I teach that.
And he's the liability on defense in the fourth.

Speaker 2 (51:54):
And he's not an on ball defender. He's a help defender.
I'm not saying I'm not giving him a picked for
no help defender. He's a help defender. He's not an
on ball defender. He doesn't do what and they put
him after the pick and roll. He can't move side
to side. Guys get him going side to side to
get him going downhill. He's not like what you and
Ben Wallace. When I think of guy Draymond. When I

(52:16):
look at guys that not only can they help, but
they can defend on the ball, that's not what Rudy is.

Speaker 4 (52:21):
I think he's gotten better though, if you go back
and look at a couple of years ago to when
he played Luca this year in the playoffs, he was
able to play him one on one a little bit better.

Speaker 3 (52:33):
They allowed him to actually play one on one defense.
So I have been somebody who's always been saying, like, man,
it's crazy Rudy kid. You know, I don't see like
his defensive like passion, but I could see that he's
gotten better over the years with his defensive presence. It's
just not I don't think it's an. I don't think

(52:55):
it's him. You know what I'm saying. Like he got
to get on the offensive end. He gotta get, Yes,
he gotta get something going like at he.

Speaker 2 (53:04):
Don't get I mean ten points. Look, I get it.
If he was giving me, let's just say, for the
sake of right M. Dwight, he was giving me fifteen.
He was giving me fifteen and thirteen, yes, windows two
and a half, three block shots a game.

Speaker 1 (53:17):
You get you good? Got me pick and roll sealed
the smaller than the paint throve up and junking.

Speaker 4 (53:23):
He don't even have to look at the rib. He
go up and dunk it back. And I'm that serious,
Like he's bro I'm.

Speaker 1 (53:29):
Six eleven, sixteen, six eleven.

Speaker 3 (53:31):
So every time I wanted to dunk, I tried to
jump my highest, my heartest, so I could clear the
rim and dunk hard.

Speaker 4 (53:38):
He said it too, He ain't gotta jump that high.
All he gotta do is be close to the rib.
So he get this pick and roll. Actually he goes
seal the big He gotta be another option in the offense.

Speaker 3 (53:49):
That's that's The one thing that I think is messing
up Minnesota is he's not an option on the office
and then so he becomes a liability.

Speaker 1 (54:00):
And I think later on in my career that's what
it was with me.

Speaker 3 (54:04):
And I was great for the defensive side, but I
think a lot of times offensively, teams wanted to space
the floor.

Speaker 1 (54:13):
And I was not a space of floor space.

Speaker 2 (54:16):
And he had this He had his large points since
twenty fifteen sixteen. How many he averaged twelve points a game.
That's the lords. He averaged ses twenty fifteen sixteen. That's
the second. He had the second fewest rebounds since twenty
seventeen eighteen. So what we talked again, what we talk
about back the white I mean, I think about he's

(54:37):
not he's not the on ball defender, and his points
and rebound are coming down.

Speaker 3 (54:42):
Another just said like this, when you get on that
island with these boys and these young men in the NBA,
it's hard man.

Speaker 1 (54:50):
And you get deep.

Speaker 2 (54:51):
What big man been dunk no more than then Rudy.
Uh no, exactly exactly, But you know everybody got opposed
to with Rudy trying. At least he tried, and.

Speaker 1 (55:06):
He gonna he's gonna challenge everybody.

Speaker 2 (55:08):
I don't play, Hey, Dwight, I don't play forty I
don't pay forty million for effort.

Speaker 4 (55:13):
I pay forty million for results. But guess how he
could back it up. He got full defensive He got it.

Speaker 2 (55:22):
We can't ask your question if we were if we
were to take a vote and we asked, if we
asked the players or we asked writers. Who's gonna say
Rudy Gobert is the best defensive player and then be
a history even though he and uh uh big Ben
got the most defensive player. Who's gonna say Rudy is
the best. But is he a better Is he a

(55:46):
better defensive player than a cheam oldjah won? It's a
simple yes or no.

Speaker 1 (55:51):
No, No.

Speaker 3 (55:53):
I didn't think, okay, but I mean playing, Dwight said,
But I'm just thinking. I'm just thinking both ways. Like
all right, So the uh Rudy is a team defender,
health defense. A keeam could play all positions, play defense
against every ball. Yeah, but the rules is different back then,

(56:15):
the court this was is extended now then it was then,
it was then it was back in the day.

Speaker 1 (56:22):
So I'm kind of looking at it from both sides.

Speaker 3 (56:25):
Like I want to give Rudy some credit because he
got four Defensive Player of the Year awards. Like, regardless
of how we want to put it, slice it, you
still got foe of me. They can't take the YouTube
awards you got in all the awards. You got everything
you got back there. You earned it right, no matter
what anybody say, you did it. That's what I'm saying

(56:46):
about Rudy.

Speaker 1 (56:48):
I can't. I only got three.

Speaker 2 (56:50):
He got fold so you got him all back to
back to white. They got tired of gave them to you,
that Dwight. They got tired of gimme to you, and
they ain't get tired of giving it to him. Be
French talking another language. I should have learned to know
the ladies bounce in the league.

Speaker 1 (57:02):
Man, I would have got another war man. They got,
they got they got. But but you you're right.

Speaker 2 (57:09):
But can you imagine with Elijah one with is, with is,
with his with his foot, with his footwork, if he
had to play, how many points he would average because.

Speaker 1 (57:19):
Everybody had BIG's back then everybody.

Speaker 2 (57:21):
And you had two of them, yeah four, So you
going he going to get David Robinson, Patrick ewing Rick
Smitch uh, Mark Eaton, I mean Robert Patsh but I
mean everybody had I mean it was true. It was
the big and everybody played inside out, not everybody played
outside in.

Speaker 3 (57:38):
And it's so far out that like, if you a
traditional big like Rudy, it exposes the type of big
you are.

Speaker 1 (57:47):
He's he's a traditional type of big. So he started
he'd have been better in the eighties and nineties, and
he started thinking about it.

Speaker 3 (57:55):
He started playing in my era. So he's used to
the big. He ain't spending the four and fives. It's
six ten, six eleven and everybody's in the paint. He's
used to being able to tag and get back to
a big that's rolling. Now it's pick and roll, it's
picking pop. So he trying to get back into a pick.

(58:16):
They throw it out into his man. He's spotting up
four three. That's tough for him. So yeah, yeah, that's
pretty tough for him. But yeah, I just say he
got four. He got fullard.

Speaker 1 (58:28):
He trying, he trying.

Speaker 4 (58:30):
He books and during the summer he's trying to get
his foot work right. I just think his shoes too big.
He wears size twenty four wear look like the wearing
size twenty four. His shoes be so tight, shoe streams
tight all that's why he can't.

Speaker 1 (58:46):
Hey, and plus he got a knee breaks on. So sorry,
I don't know, we just say that word. But the
big old knee breaks they be in the way. He
can't even move. Yeah, you can't move, they gonna pop.
He look like a lie it out there with the
neat braces, old trip.

Speaker 2 (59:03):
Dwight le basket this Janni's had. Uh do you think
you're picking up? I'm picking you. You got Dwight Howard,
you're the starting center, and you get KD or you
get Yannis.

Speaker 3 (59:15):
You can't have them both, you get one or the other.
In yes, ooh, that's so tough. That's a good one.
That's a good one.

Speaker 1 (59:29):
But I'm going k D k D inside out attack scores.

Speaker 3 (59:39):
Yeah, I'm gonna get I'm gonna get guys that foul
to early and running the flow, get in the pants.

Speaker 1 (59:44):
Easy bucket and then you gonna dump it down to
you and you're gonna dunk on them.

Speaker 3 (59:48):
I'm doing that, but I'm getting easy buckets, easy files early,
So now you can't foul KD so you can get
to any shot you want to get to. Now in
the fourth quarter, we're picking out poison. We get to
a drop. He played a three drop thirty five and
he catch it in the mid poast. I'm a cup,
send him a screen. He come off that he got

(01:00:09):
his jump shot to the rear while he got me
on the lob. It's over with three shooters in the corner.

Speaker 1 (01:00:15):
Do you want to ask your question?

Speaker 2 (01:00:18):
What if you had played with Luca and you know
Luca loved the lib threat.

Speaker 1 (01:00:23):
Oh my god, oh my god. Crazy. It's probably like
Jason Kidd.

Speaker 3 (01:00:34):
Yes, when I was playing in the Lives Jason Kidd,
big ty point guard, can see over everybody.

Speaker 1 (01:00:40):
Would have been crazy. It would have been crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:00:45):
